Burger is a casual game, which is available for both smartphones and tablets – devices must be operating on either Google’s Android or Apple’s iOS in order to download and play Burger. Since its release, by one of Google’s developers, known as Magma Mobile, Burger has achieved well over fifty million total installs – this figure is based on devices running Android, alone! The game seems to be very pleasing for its users – fans and players of the game have given Burger an average rating of four stars, out of five.
The amount of downloads are still increasing every single day, even though Burger is a fairly old game. One of the reasons for the constant downloads of Burger, could be the frequent updates provided by the developer – Magma Mobile. Burger is updated frequently, and new and interesting features are always being interpreted. Burger is completely free to play and enjoy. The developers, Magma Mobile, have not included any in app purchases – the game can be enjoyed to its full potential, without having to spend real life currency in return.
Users of Burger can find themselves simulating the job of a burger chain worker. They will be virtually hired to serve customers with burgers, as fast as they possibly can. The faster that the burgers are served, the more tips and bonuses the user will receive. By playing lots of games within Burger, more ingredients will be unlocked for the user to play with. Users must serve burgers, sandwiches, garnishes and even sodas.
When playing career mode, the difficulty will gradually increase. For every game played, the difficulty will be ramped up to keep the user feeling challenged. Users can work from Monday to Saturday, in order to reach their goal, receive more money, and unlock new items to serve. If users are great employees for the fast-food burger chain, then they are able to unlock some in game achievements.
Within Burger, time is money – the more orders completed per game, the more money will be awarded. It is important to be quick when serving the burgers, in order to achieve the maximum amount of money possible!
Time Attack mode is also available – this is a challenge to have users collect the maximum amount of coins, within a time limit.
There is over 300 levels, and 40 achievements, which are all available for free. There are also a whole load of ingredients available, to make sure each and every level feels somewhat fresh and new: bread, meat, lettuce, tomato, cheese, onion, cucumber, mayonnaise, tomato ketchup, bacon, fish, muffins, ice creams, french fries, potatoes and sodas.
Getting started within Burger is extremely easy and straightforward. Users can jump straight into gameplay, and they are able to start making burgers from the minute that they open the app! The tutorial is based around one quick and easy level, so users can learn the ropes whilst enjoying themselves. There are no boring or draining videos/intros that users have to watch before playing.

A quick tip for Burger, is to act fast. If burgers are created quickly, it means more can be completed in every single level. In return for more burgers, users will also receive more money. If a few burgers are made incorrectly in return for acting fast, it usually pays off. Being fast and non-accurate is better paying, than being slow and very accurate.
Burger does not provide an immersive experience, and is not how I expected it to be. The game is not action-packed or fast-paced at all. Even in the higher levels, the game is extremely easy to play and use. Because of how easy the game is, instead of feeling intense and immersive, it feels boring and mild. The immersivity really is not present within Burger, and I think it needs to be added somehow. All of the orders are easy, and it is very difficult to mess up an order. I am not very pleased with how immersive this game is.
The user interfaces within Burger are alright, but nothing more than that. I find that the buttons look a little cheap, and also are not always completely functional. Sometimes, even on a top of the range smartphone, the buttons require a few presses until they actually work. The buttons also are not consistently sized, and sometimes get a little awkward to work with. Thankfully, nothing was too cramped or crowded into a small area of the screen – everything was accessible. Although, that is probably the only good think about the user interfaces within Burger. Nothing really worked the way that I would have liked it too – overall, using them was not a great experience.
The artwork within Burger were also not too bad, but again – nothing more. They seemed very cheap, and most certainly seems unprofessional. They seemed very childish, and as if each object had been made within just a couple of minutes – besides the hours that some developers spend on each individual piece of art. They are not very unique, and seem very similar to other free games on the App Store and Google Play Store. However, I am still able to determine what objects are supposed to be, so that is a big bonus. They could maybe be appreciated by young children, but I cannot see adults or teenagers enjoying this kind of artwork. It just feels like these have been extremely rushed, and they almost seem unfinished. Overall, I was not too pleased with the artwork provided within Burger.
I think that the game is very limited, to some children. I cannot see all children enjoying this game, but I think that the only people who will enjoy it is children. This is unfortunate, because if a little more time was spent to perfect the artwork, user interfaces, and overall responsiveness, the game could have been much better.
Ratings
Artwork: The artwork within Burger is very mediocre, therefore I must give it a 2/10. It is not very appealing at all, which also takes away from the general gameplay aspect of things. The artwork does not compliment the game at all – some more professional artwork could be appreciated here. Even though it has a friendly look to it, it also looks very cheap. If this was improved a little, then the whole game would also be improved drastically. Overall, I was not pleased with the artwork provided. It is unfortunate, since this artwork could have been so much better if a little more effort was dedicated to it.
Music & SFX: I am only able to give Burger a mild 2/10 for the music and sound effects which are provided during gameplay. Again, they seem extremely cheap – they are not professional, and they sound like they are very old. The sound effects are repeated over and over again, which does become aggravating – there needs to be a lot more variety. The music also gets a little annoying, since it seems very childish, and does not seem like a lot of time has been dedicated to it. Again, this is very unfortunate – the game could have benefited greatly from some nice audio. Overall, I was not pleased with the music and sound effects which were provided during the use of Burger.
Story & Originality: I am only able to give Burger a 0/10 for the story and originality. There is virtually no storyline throughout the whole of the game – something which could have really complimented it. Without a storyline, it gives me no reason the play the game other than to waste time – I do not know who my character is, and why they are doing what they do. Also, the game is really not original – I have seen many games just like this one. Often, the competitors are a lot better and have many more features than Burger. Unfortunately, Burger is extremely basic, so I cannot even give it a point for originality. Overall, the story and originality was not pleasing.
General Gameplay: I am only able to give Burger a 1/10 for the general gameplay aspect of things. The horrible artwork, combined with the awfully repetitive music and sound effects, makes this game very unenjoyable. Also, since it is not original, I do not want to play the game – other developers have done it before, and they have also done it a lot better. The gameplay is boring, and provides no real challenge. Although each level will result in an increase in difficulty, almost every level can be completed quickly and without fail. There are not enough challenges, and the game seems incomplete. Overall, the general gameplay was not great.
Addictiveness: I am only able to give Burger a 1/10 for the addictiveness which it provides. It is extremely boring, simply because it is not challenging. The general gameplay is very bad, which makes me not want to play this game at all. The only reason I am able to give this catagory anything above a zero, is because it is an alright game for wasting spare time. However, many other games have priority over Burger.
Overall, I give Burger a 2/10.
