The gameplay is somewhat simple in My Dolphin Show: Tap, hold and move your finger around the screen to move your dolphin in the water, then move upwards to jump out of the water, after gaining speed. Each level will have goals indicated in the form of tricks to do, which you have to complete by controlling the dolphin. These tricks can be pretty different from eachother, with new ones added as you progress in the levels. Some of these include hitting beach balls, jumping through ‘donuts’, jumping hurdles, splashing water on the audience, scoring a soccer goal, air stunts, underwater rings and many more!

You can even combo these tricks, so if there are more beach balls on the screen for example, then you can try to hit multiple of them with a single jump to gain a multiplied score. You can combo any type of tricks, all you have to make sure is that they are done in the same jump or fast enough after one another.

Everytime you complete all tricks on the screen, you will be awarded with fish by your trainer, and collecting these fish will grant you extra points, which can also be multiplied by catching all three very fast. But new tricks are not placed yet after getting the fish, as you also get extra audience members based on your performance. If you did your tricks well, then more people will come to watch, which you can even see in the background. A negative outcome is also possible, as if you were to fail a lot of jumps and tricks took you too long to complete, then people might get disappointed and leave. At the end of each level you are rated by the amount of people watching, so doing tricks as perfectly as you can is important!

Other than playing all these fun levels and enjoying the dolphin life, you can even unlock new outfits in My Dolphin Show. These can be anything like new colored dolphins, dolphins with banana and crocodile costumes, or even other animals like a shark, turtle, polar bear, seal or orca. I must start with the most serious cheats first: the two purchaseable powers. The ability to double jump in the air and to float for a very long time are advantages that most players will not have, but are extremely useful to make the most out of your combos!

As for a general tip, you should always try to aim for the most combos during each level, as that’s how you get more and more audience members. It also gives you more points, which will be translated into coins in the end. Coins are needed to unlock outfits, so it’s a win-win situation to do the best tricks!

Another thing you might find useful is the fact that you can change direction in the air, once you jumped out of the water. This can be used to hit beach balls, hoops or other targets even if you jumped in the wrong direction first. Use it to correct your errors and turn them into success!

My Dolphin Show Review

My Dolphin Show is a fun little game, which seems like a kids game at first, but has gameplay that can easily entertain an adult as well!

I got into this game with curiosity, as it’s a refreshing, happy looking game, among all the gritty and serious titles. I also haven’t really wasted much time, as the game doesn’t have a huge menu system. As soon as I pressed the big play button, I got immediately placed in the stage selection screen, then the action began.

I must say, that the controls are pretty tight in this game, which is very important, as the gameplay is heavily precision based. Hitting the right targets and landing at the place you mean to is crucial to do well, so I enjoyed how fluidly my dolphin moved around the place. Most tricks were fairly easy to do, the trickier part was to chain combo these tricks, which required both momentum and precise, yet fast movement.

Most levels I played in the Hawaii environment were fairly easy, although I couldn’t 3 star all of them, as I did fail a few tricks at times, losing audience members. This was never really bothersome though, as the game is not punishing at all. It welcomes all performance levels, as long as you complete all the tricks.

Overall, My Dolphin Show seems to be a fairly simple to play game, with fun, easily controls and a pretty artstyle. It’s definitely a kids friendly game, with unpunishing mechanics, yet fun gameplay even for adults. Definitely a good pickup in 2016 as a casual dolphin show game!

Artwork: The artwork of My Dolphin Show gets a 7/10. The game looks friendly and inviting to play, with a cute artstyle. At a first sight it might appeal to kids more than to adults, but in the long run it can grow on anyone easily. Probably the only negative thing graphically is the lack of variety in the audience member designs.

Music & SFX: The music and SFX of the game deserves a 7/10. As for the music, it’s a fairly standard uplifting song, which sounds exactly the same as most cutesy games’ music does, so it’s nothing special. The SFX on the other hand is pretty good, with realistic dolphin sounds, water splashes and audience cheers.

Story & Originality: I give the originality of this title an 8/10. This high rating is for the overall execution of the whole dolphin show idea. In itself it’s not exactly original, as there are countless other dolphin games out there, but the flow of the gameplay and the easy controls really make this a joyful experience.

General Gameplay: As for the general gameplay of My Dolphin Show, I give it a 9/10. The shows are pleasant and entertaining, while the gameplay can be either fast or slow, depending on your mood. You control the flow of the show with your dolphin, which is an awesome experience. Trying to perfect all levels can be a goal, but just completing the whole game in itself is a great challenge. The in-app purchase cheats are also not bothersome, as this is a singleplayer game.

Addictiveness: The addictiveness of the game gets a 9/10 as well. I can see myself coming back to this game later on, as it’s definitely something that’s easy to pick up for a few minutes, or even just sit down and play for a while. It’s a relaxing experience great for kids and adults alike, with 108 levels to beat!
