CastleStorm is one of the latest games which has been released from one of Google’s top developers, Zen Studios. You can get this game on both iOS and Android devices for free. The game has had a large amount of support since its release in April of 2015, with over 500,000 downloads to the Android platform alone.
CastleStorm varies in genre – there are aspects of tower defense as well as physics based destruction. When you start playing CastleStorm, you learn about the knights of the kingdom, as well as some barbaric vikings. There was originally a peace treaty between these two nations, however this was in a past time – around one hundred years ago. The story then progresses to have the user defend the kingdom from these barbaric vikings. After the first battle, there are a number of quests that the user is able to complete at their own pace – there is nothing to force the user to continue playing the game if they really don’t want to. There isn’t anything that can happen to their kingdom, or the entire game, while the user isn’t playing the game.
CastleStorm is one of the most popular free strategy and tower defense games out there for iOS and Android devices. In CastleStorm, you need to get a lot of gems, gold, and food in this game in order to purchase items in this game. While you can get the gems and gold in the app store, this costs real money, and these purchases add up quickly.
If you want to get gold, food, and gems for free, then you can download our free hack tool, which gives you unlimited amounts of these items without you ever having to pay for them with real money.
Check out the image below in order to see how the CastleStorm hack tool works, with an options menu that allows you to input the amounts of gold, food, and gems that you want to add to your gaming account.
All you need to do is download the CastleStorm Hack tool, which takes about 30 seconds to download, and it will automatically install at that point. The installation should take about 30 seconds as well, although both times depend on the speed of your internet connection. You will then need to select either iOS or Android, and then input the amounts of gems, gold, and food that you want to add to your account.
Simply tap “Start” to begin the hack tool, which should take no longer than 45 seconds to complete. Once the CastleStorm hack has finished, you can open up the game on your device and you will see the gems, food, and gold have been added to your account. You can use this tool as many times as you would like to get free gold, gems, and food the entire time you play this game.
There are no cheats for CastleStorm. For a user to be successful in the game, this is down to playing technique. There is no menu to enter cheat codes, and there is not a combination of actions which can be done to activate a cheat. Also, there is no ways of manipulating the game files to progress further in the game. Everything must be completed by the user themselves, unless they purchase additional and optional in app purchases.
More so a tip rather than a cheat, users are able to open the application every day to be given a daily reward. This is a great incentive to play, also.
First of all, CastleStorm offers the users a fairly immersive experience. It doesn’t feel like I am simply tapping on a screen to pass some time. Instead, it feels like I am actually defending a castle from corrupt and barbaric vikings, and the game makes me feel as if I am actually helping the kingdom.
The art is fairly cartoon-esque, but offers a sense of depth and detail within. This means the user is able to see what things are clearly, while not seeing anything too graphic or violent. There is a beautiful and luscious backdrop within each battle which the user will subconsciously appreciate while playing through the game. I think that this is a brilliant feature of the game, and it’s certainly something which competitors of CastleStorm aren’t doing all that well.
All of the user interfaces have been designed very well. It’s nice to see that every button is a perfect size and have been spaced out appropriately. In almost every single case, I found that the buttons were very snappy and responsive. The user interfaces are also graphically and aesthetically pleasing as well, and it looks as if it is in place and part of the game.
Advertisements are kept to a minimum within CastleStorm, and the user even has the option to pay to disable this if they wanted to. Although no advertisements would be preferred, at least they’re not taking up a quarter of the screen like other mobile applications may do.
The aim of the game is to defend the kingdom from vikings – that’s pretty much it. There isn’t much more to it. The user fires a number of different projectiles at the other castle’s vikings to protect the kingdom from them. After that, the user continues to fire projectiles at the opponent castle until it has been destroyed and the vikings have been defeated – until the next level begins. Despite this being the only real aim of the game, there are different ways that the user is able to meet these aims. The user is able to either; destroy the enemy’s castle in entirety, capture the enemy’s flag, or break down their door and destroy the castle from the inside and work in reverse to the norm.
There are also a number of different troops that the user can take into their battles whilst playing CastleStorm. They can use archers or rangers, melee knights, wizards or witches, and more such as giant golems.
Within CastleStorm, the user is also able to personalise and customise their own castle. They can decide where to place food stores and barracks, as well as what else to place inside their castle.
The audio has been beautifully mastered so that every time a wall crashes down, it makes the user feel as if they have actually destroyed an evil enemy’s base. It gives the game more depth and makes it feel more realistic.
Artwork: I give CastleStorm a solid 10/10 for artwork. It seems unique, and I love the way it has been designed. There is an essence of depth and detail within every design, and it is also slightly cartoony. The artwork is quite amazing, and it is one of my favorite aspects of this game. I can tell a lot of hard work has been dedicated to each and every design. Everything fits with each other perfectly and nothing looks strange or out of place for whatever reason.
Music & SFX: I give CastleStorm a solid 10/10 for their music and sound effects. The reason for this; every piece of music is suitable for the game, and doesn’t seem out of place. It’s very pleasing to listen to and is also not repetitive or played too often. The music cycles nicely and I have no issues with what I hear, regarding music. The sound effects are also great – every time you give damage to an enemy, destroy a castle, or throw a projectile, it seems very realistic due to the great job done by the developers of CastleStorm on their sound effects. Everything in the audio department is very pleasing and really contributes towards gameplay.
Story & Originality: I can only give CastleStorm a 4/10 for their story and originality. The reason I cannot give any more than this is because this type of game has been done hundreds of times before. If I search for ‘Tower Defense’ in the Play Store, I am bound to find hundreds with a similar story line. However, the developers of CastleStorm have done a good job with the cutscenes – but they still lie a little short and there’s no real detail given. This is forgivable, though, because the developers have also done a great job in many other departments and everything else fits together so well.
General Gameplay: I give CastleStorm an 8/10 for the general gameplay. The reason for this, is because they have done a great job on making the potentially repetitive content feel fresh and new in every single battle which takes place. I’m pleased to see that the developers have also made everything fit together perfectly – the music compliments the graphics really well, while the graphics are simultaneously complimenting the story-line. Again, I can’t give the full ten because there seems to be so much else out there like this, that it makes the gameplay seem a little repetitive if you’ve played similar games in the past.
Addictiveness: I give CastleStorm a 10/10 for the addictiveness. I find myself wanting to play this game more and more due to the sheer fact that everything works so well together. It’s like a beautiful harmony which is just calling me to play just one more level – but this continues, and I eventually find myself playing several levels, even when I planned on just the one. It is also great how the game gets harder and harder as the levels progress – after I find myself being defeated I am determined to replay the level so I can progress to the next leve – and again, this is a neverending story.
Overall, I give CastleStorm a 9/10.
