Poptile is a pretty unique puzzle game that seems to be closest, in terms of concept, to Tetris. However, in its case, you have to tap tiles in a rising block instead of arranging shapes, which makes the whole thing a lot more interesting. And difficult, at the same time, and this is the reason why I am here to share with you a complete set of Poptile cheats – actually some tips and tricks that will improve your game and help you get a high score to impress the world.
So if you’re having trouble getting the points in the game, check out our top 7 Poptile cheats and tips for the iPhone and iPad game and have fun getting thousands of points!
1. Take your time
Unlike Tetris, Poptile doesn’t challenge you to think quickly and instead you can easily plan out your moves. Check out the board and see where you should tap in order to get the most out of the falling blocks and combos triggered. The whole strategy should revolve around you creating as many combos as possible.
2. The one piece tap
It seems pretty pointless to remove just one piece when you can remove three or more, but in many cases, that one piece can trigger great combos that clear out the board. So always look out for the odd tile in play and remove it at the right time to trigger longer combos!
3. Work at the bottom & watch the sides
The left and right columns are what seem the most difficult to keep under control, so you should always build your strategy around keeping them as low as possible. Combos are more likely to remove tiles from the middle, so just focus on the sides. It’s also usually a better idea to work down low and remove as many tiles as possible from the bottom, letting the top ones create combos and remove themselves. But always have tip #1 in mind and have a general overview of the board and choose the best move to follow.
4. Use the power-ups wisely!
There are three power-ups in Poptile and they are awarded to you randomly, but they are extremely helpful. Don’t rush to use them as soon as they are rewarded and instead try to hold on them for as long as possible and only use them when you really need them. I noticed that they are awarded every 100 – 150 points, so if you can make it to 400 without using one, you will have the entire set to choose from, which offers a huge advantage! Either way, make sure that whenever you use them, you get the most out of their use! Below we have some tips on when it’s best to use them.
5. When to use the target power-up
An extremely useful power-up, and the one that is rewarded less often, the target power-up removes all tiles of the color you tap from the board. This means that you can trigger some nice combos and clear up the board, so make sure you use it when you have a lot of tiles on the board and make sure to select the most useful color.
6. When to use the -3 power-up
This is my favorite power-up as it removes the bottom three lines of your board, allowing you to focus on removing a few colors on the top without actually losing much. The best time to use this power-up is when you have at least one column going very high (usually the left or right or both) and when you need some extra moves to clean out some tiles.
7. When to use the Stop power-up
Probably the least useful and the one you’ll get the most, this power-up allows you to remove a match without a new row appearing. You can use this at any given time during the game, and it’s best put to use when you have to remove a single tile from the board.
