In the beginning I should confess that I am a huge fan of Matrix. So this game has of course been a must-have for me.
When starting the game the steering can be a little problematic, but after a while you get used to it and you will surely be impressed of how well you can kick asses of a huge amount of enemies.
In this guide you will find the way of beating every level and finding every secret there is to be found.
And now turn on the game and have fun :D
1. A weapon equipped/ready to be equipped at present.
2. Amount of bullets for that weapon - only for fire-arms.
3. Faces of our comrades and their health level. Faces on the right side of the screen show us the health level of our enemies.
4. The Health Meter - regenerates itself after a while of doing nothing. It can be shortened if we take a massive amount of damage in a short period of time.
5. The Focus Meter - it let us doing all the amazing things Neo can do e.g. wall running, fighting enemies in a effective way or even (quite :P) flying. The focus meter regenerates it self when we hit or kill enemies.
This is the "Character Development" screen. On the ring closest to the character are the most basic skills. On every further ring there are more and more advanced techniques. Skills on the neighboring rings linked with a golden thread are techniques of the same type but differ from each other with a level, which means "more powerful", "grater distance", "grater efficient" and so on.
The gold ball and the multiplier in the upper right corner show how many skills we can and must (if we want to start the next level we have to use all the balls) activate.
After choosing an ability such a window comes up.
On the top is the name of a skill.
A little bit lower we can see how to use this ability.
Eventually "Tip" - shows tips about using that skill.
Option "View this upgrade" lets us see the skill in "action".
Option "Acquire this upgrade" lets us activate the skill.
Each skill is marked with such images:
A self learn Skill
It means that Neo learns it after reaching certain point in the game.
On the left side: an unknown skill,
On the right side: a skill already known.
This image shows a "you-decide" skill, which mean you decide what skill to learn next.
We can activate those by using the golden balls, but we can activate only the ones marked with a white edge.

This element represents the "Atman Principles".

On the right side: a principle already known.
Atman Principles - skills on the last ring. Those are short verses, they don't tell us what effect this ability exactly has. Every single one has a special effect like temporarily grow of power or healing others. Those abilities are activated only during one level. Next they are disabled and we have to reactivate them. The exception is the "Spoon" principle which once activated stays activated till the end.
First chance to activate a principle we get before the "Stuck in the loop" mission. We activate those rarely. It is better to learn a new technique. We activate those skills if we don't have any other choice.

From time to time we see such a screen - it means that our focus meter has grown. It also often means that Neo has learned a new ability.
Self learn skills:
"You-decide" skills (you choose one before every level - the order can be different, it depends on you, but this one is preferred):
We move using the direction buttons (default WSAD).
Evades:
Wall running - to run along a wall we have to focus and run toward a wall. Run toward a wall at an acute angle to run along wall horizontally. Run toward a wall at a right angle to run up wall vertically.
Jumps:
Attack - we can make up to 6 ordinary hits to a single enemy.
Special Attack - we grab an enemy with this button. Different types of grabs:
We combine ordinary attacks with the special one to perform a powerful combo on a single enemy. We combine those attacks with focus to do an even more deadly combo. We can also use a great variety of side-arms.
If we're attacked by more than one enemy we can perform a special attack directed at up to three opponents. To do this we have to grab an enemy, press a directional button in direction of a second foe and press the special attack button again (you can repeat this process to grab a third foe).
Neo changes some of his attacks after the "He is the One" mission. We can still observe some of his old moves but mostly they are replaced with more powerful ones.
Killing Blow - a very strong attack. In the beginning it's directed at one foe but later on Neo learns how to perform this move on a larger amount of enemies. We combine it with side-arms to get some interesting effects. But try not to overtake with this attack - we need some time to charge it and during charge we are being helplessly open for enemies' attacks.
Security guard:
One of the first - faced by us - opponent.
They don't have any weapon.
It's the easiest foe to defeat.
Cop:
He has an ordinary pistol,
He has a very low endurance but higher than the security guard.
Ordinary SWAT team:
To this team belong mostly men like the one on the picture.
They use heavy pistol, sub machine gun, shotgun.
Special SWAT team:
Units with shields - they have a heavy pistol for their disposal. We shouldn't waste ammo on shooting at them. They can overthrow us with their shields. Before attacking them we should focus and knock out shield of their hands.
Units without shields - they have an Assault Rifle at their disposal, but nothing special about these ones.
Both kinds of units have a high endurance.
Agents:
Ordinary Agent
First kind of Agents we have to deal with.
They use heavy pistols.
They're very fast - evade both - bullets and punches.
Upgraded version of Agents
We meet them for the firs time during the "Captains Meeting" mission.
They are faster and stronger than their predecessors.
They can regenerate their health level.
When fighting them we should concentrate on a single enemy and after defeating one turn on to another.
Smith - we meet him as an ordinary Agent and defeat him in the "He is the One" mission. We meet him again in "The Burly Braw" mission in a decidedly larger amount. His our main enemy in the whole game.
Merovingian's men:
Very strong and fast.
They can teleport on short distances.
They can run on the ceiling (when we're closing in the fell down to fight us hand-to-hand).
They use different type of weapon. Fire-arms as well as side-arms.
Secrets have form of black briefcases. You can get them for successfully completing a bonus mission or find lying somewhere on the level.

This whole level is Neo's dream. We find him sleeping in front of his computer and a moment later we stand before a choice: "blue or red pill".
We choose of course the red pill, we see a known from move scene with a mirror and a moment later we found ourselves in a spacious room with two rows of pillars.
This level is a skill test. After facing a few waves of enemies it determines the level of our skills and let us choose appropriate difficulty level. The difficulty level depends on how long we can last against those waves.

During this level we got to run from Agents and cops. As in the movie in the game we must follow the instructions of Morpheus. The key places where we got to stop and link to are marked in green. First of all we observe those places and listen to Morpheus' hints. Later on it is possible and unavoidable that we will be seen by a cop. In that case we should press the attack button to overthrow him. If he caught us we should press the attack button as fast as we can to break free and overthrow the cop.
We start in our box. Without wasting our time we run to the box on the opposite side of the corridor and link up on the green piece of wall (screen 1). When the cops and Agents spread we follow a marked police officer. A while later we link up to another piece of wall. When guards pass by we go to another box (remember - look for the green spots). We wait here till the cop turn back and go away. We follow him. Another while later we link up to another box and peek around the corner (screen 2). We wait till both Agents aren't watching and roll to the other side of the row. We follow the cop to the reception desk.
We wait till the security guard stops talking to the cop and move very close to the desk on his other side and link up to a partly opened cabinet (screen 1). We wait till Smith ends the conversation with receptionist and slowly follow the cop heading to the end of the corridor. Near the end we link up to a wall and peek around the corner. A while later a guy will come out of an office (screen 2). Now we must act quickly. Stand up, overthrow the cop and run to the opened door.
Now we're outside the building. We have a choice now:
We go a little further and over the corner we step on a mould (Thomas automatically link up to the wall), a little further (when we step over that narrow mould) we got to step closer the edge and "fell down". Neo will automatically grab the edge. Now we must move along that edge and pull ourselves up a little further. We got to step on another mould and move along it. When we're above the elevator Thomas loose his balance and fall on the lift. We go a little bit higher but the elevator stops. We've got no other choice but to get on another mould.
We go to the right in direction of two elevators. We step on the one with green button and press it. We're going up but we aren't waiting for the lift to stop only after it reaches the first wooden platform we jump of it (screen 1). But it really doesn't matter. If we wait for the lift to stop we will only have one cop more to overthrow.
On the right side of the platform is a ladder. We climb up on it and on the top platform we run to the left and jump to another wooden platform. There is a cop standing there. We go to him - when we're close he fell down. We wait for the arrival of an elevator and step on it. Few floors higher wait already a cop. We watch a spectacular jump of Thomas and than move toward the edge and "fell down". We move along the edge, pull ourselves up, step on mould and walk in the direction of an Agent. Just in front of him Neo will loose his balance and fell on the elevator (screen 2). This one will take us to the roof. We jump off it and run to the left door. A security guard will come up - we have to push him and run inside the building.
Now we've got to get 14 floors down where Trinity is already waiting for us.
We begin this level with running down the stairs. We land exactly in front of a floor plan (screen1). We turn left and follow the officer. When he stops we overthrow him and run near the pillar and turn left after it (screen 2). We ran to the door and go through them.
We run down on the 12 floor. We go through the door and we see on our right side an officer talking to a receptionist. We watch him without a move and when he goes past the corner we follow him. We stop near the second corner and wait till the cop goes inside the bathroom.
Now we follow a guy who just went out of the bathroom. A little bit further - near the boxes - is another cop. We watch him and when he goes to another direction we run into the corridor leading to another staircase (screen 1).
Now the action gets faster. We run toward sixth floor and we fall into Agent Smith's trap. We run through the open door on the right side. And now we run in this order: right, left, on the "crossroad" right and toward door on the left side (screen 2). We run in the direction of another staircase. Just when we have reached it a security guard jump off that door. We overthrow him and run inside. We run till the bottom of the building. In one moment we will see a cop aiming at us with his gun. Just before him we turn left. From the door directly in front of us comes an Agent.
We turn left and run towards a store. Out of the store run a security guard - we overthrow him and run inside the store. After the firs regal we turn left (screen 1) and run towards door with red sign "exit". Now we are in a long corridor. On the other side waits Trinity. Just before the exit a security guard jumps out of boxes on the left side. We overthrow him and get to the exit.
Now it's time for a tutorial in hand-to-hand combat.
We begin this level with a few silent takedowns - but in rest of the game you won't need those.
In the whole beginning we close in to the adept walking in front of us and press the special attack button to choke him. We run along the cave in the end there will be a hatch on the floor. We jump down and without wasting our time we run along the corridor. First we choke the guy patrolling the area and then the guy standing next to few crates.
We run along cave further inside. We will find there a room where we will learn to fight (screen1). There are waiting four waves - each one with two enemies. On the screen pop up a window with some simple moves we can use. After defeating all of them Tank will open us passage deeper inside the cave (if we got seriously hurt during these fights we can find two pots with health in two crates - one on the left side of the room, one on the right side).
We run along the recently open corridor and a while later we found ourselves near the control room (screen 2). If we can kill those guards without rising alarm we will get a wooden stick which will help us in a tournament later on. We sneak near the windows as close as possible. We go inside and kill the closest guard (he's the one who rise the alarm). When we're done with him we turn to his friend (those don't have to be silent takedowns - you must only save the order of killing).
We run along the cave and some time later we get to the production hall (screen 1). Inside there are three adepts. We've got to eliminate every single one with silent takedown thanks of which we will get a bonus material - "Staff combos".
We continue our run along the cave. We jump over two ditches on the floor, kill one adept and jump onto a ladder. In the next corridor we get the promised stick and in the end of the cave is a hall where the tournament takes place.
There are five rounds, each with three enemies (except for the last one):
After we hear Morpheus saying "Good but you're faster than that" we get the ability to focus.
Now the time has come for a side-arm combat training. But before we fight the old man we must go on the other side of the river and to the waterfall. Under the waterfall we will find a pot. We crash open it and take the briefcase with "Sword combos" bonus material.
After getting the briefcase we run towards the old man standing between trees. There are five stages in this combat:
There are many combats waiting on us in this level. Also we must defeat a virus which attacked the program.
In the beginning we close in to the rack and pick up a sword from it. Now we turn left and slash through the door. We meet the virus - he's got form of a ghost that challenges us for a fight.
We walk past him and slash through another door. Next through the door on out right. When we close in to the ghost we open a ditch on the floor (screen 1). To pass through it we've got to run a wall horizontally. Next we go to the end of the corridor and turn right. We run straight through a series of door, run over another ditch and keep running along the corridor. We run over the third ditch and turn left to another corridor. Now it's the last ditch.
In the next room we meet a couple of Ogami's adepts. We defeat them and run through one of the door on the opposite side of the room. In a room on the other side of the corridor we find some more adepts. We kill them, run back to the corridor and turn right. We slash through another door. It's time to fight Ogami. This is not a difficult fight. After beating him up we get a scroll with the secret of the "killing blow" hit (screen 2).
We run out of this room and turn right. We run along the corridor and suddenly it begins to burn. We stop in a corner and wait for three Ogami's adepts. After defeating them we run a little further and to pass through the flames we got to run along the wall on our right side. We're near the exit of this building but before we can use it we got to defeat some of Ogami's adepts. They jump out of the rooms on our left and right side. After killing them we run out of the building.
A few more fights waits on us in the garden. We run towards and through a bridge. On the other side we attack three samurais.
The system looks like this: we fight with three samurais. After killing one of them two of his adepts attack us, after killing the second there comes two more adepts, but after killing the third samurai no more adepts comes. It's no matter which samurai we kill as the first.
It's time for another series after which we watch a short cut-scene. We wait till our health meter is fully restored and run toward samurais sitting next to a camp-fire. We fight them. System looks exactly as on the last time. After defeating all of them the time has come for the final fight on this level.
We're being attacked by three ninjas. All we have to do is to defeat them.
During this level our goal is to defeat as many waves of enemies as possible in the most spectacular way we can. We get points for style and +300 points for defeating the whole wave.
We got to score an amount of points within 5 minutes time. Exact amount of points depends on the difficulty level:
In the beginning we fight on the first floor and after we get a staff from Tank we jump down on the ground floor.
In the beginning we shoot at the boss (he sits by the table) till he say "Die, Die, Die" and run away. From this moment we will sometimes meet the boss. He will have bodyguards for his protection. First of all we kill those bodyguards. We will fight with the boss in the end of the level.
Alright - back to the game. Now when the boss run away we take on his two guards. We lean out above sits and fire upon those thugs. If we get hit we stop shooting and wait till our health regenerates. After we kill those two another two guys appear. First we kill the one behind the bar and later the one hiding behind pillars. Next we follow the boss.
It is important to remember about citizens. We can go to them (when they're safe) and they will transform into a healing pot or focus marker.
When we go past to civilians we link up to a wall on our right and lean left to shoot three enemies standing by the huge windows (screen 2). We run along the corridor and some time later the boss starts shooting at us just before he hide behind a corner. Behind that corner a thug is waiting for us. We kill him and watch as the boss is running away. On these stairs sets four gangsters wait for us. We got to kill all of them to proceed.
We keep following the boss. We found ourselves in a quite spacious room. First we shoot to a fire extinguisher between to thugs just few meters from the stair base (screen 1). We run down the stairs and look under them. There are three more bad guys (screen 2). When we kill all of them the boss is running back up the stairs. We follow him.
After the third set of stairs we found two thugs of his. We kill them, a wall disappears and we got to kill two more thugs. We follow the boss.
We get back to the corridor with huge windows. We kill one gangster and as we run along this corridor two more jumps out the door on the left side. We kill them and walk into that secret room (from which they jumped out). We find inside a secret combo "Code breaker" (screen 1). Just behind the corner the boss with one thug is lurking on us. We kill the thug and follow the boss.
We find ourselves in the same room in which we started the level. First we kill all thugs in this room and in the very end we kill the boss.
To end this level we got to pass three stages:
The Race:
In the whole beginning we get separated from the others. We hide the gun and punch our way through the cracked wall (screen 1). Here we destroy another wall. Inside this room are two cops. We kill them and run out through the door and towards three cops - we remember to evade their bullets. Just before them a wall appears. We destroy the wall on our right side. From the bathroom we go through the door to a room and from here through another door on the hallway. Here we kill three cops (screen 2).
Next we go through the double door and we found ourselves in a store. We got to defeat three cops here and look for a crack (screen 1). On the other side of the wall already wait a couple of cops on us. Those closest we fight hand-to-hand and later we link-up to a couch (screen 2). We lean above it and shoot at cops.
If they run away we stand up and shoot to a bottle with a gas (screen 1). Now we run towards destroyed bottle - two cops have survived the explosion. We get rid of them and shoot to a bottle with gas standing next to a wall. We go through the hole and next through the door in front of us.
We kill two cops inside that room, a while later another cop come in. We also get rid of him. Now up to the bathroom, through crack in front of us and through a wall on the right. We kill the cop in the third bathroom. Another cop comes to the bathroom. We kill him too and go through the door through which he came in (screen 1).
We run out of the room through a crack and turn right. Now we have to kill all the cops on this floor. Next we go one floor lower and turn to the left (screen 2). We go along a corridor and go through a double door.
Here we eliminate two police officers and go to the bathroom (screen 1). Here we get rid of two more cops and run to a second bathroom through a wall. From here we go through door to a room with two officers. We kill them and run out through a double door. On the corridor we get rid of three more cops. We go through a wall and next through door to a room with more cops.
After beating up these two we run out of the room and turn right. A wall appears so we don't have another choice but to turn right. We run directly toward an ordinary SWAT team. We get rid of them and on the cross roads we turn left through a passage to a staircase (screen 2).
We run up stairs and keep fighting with SWAT team members. Upstairs we got to kill the leader of that team and we run directly at a focus marker. Near it is a crack (screen 1). We walk in a room and next through the door on the right side (screen 2).
On the corridor we run to the left. We got to fight a SWAT team once again but this time Apoc comes to help us. After we defeat all of the enemies on the corridor we run towards the last door to the right (screen 2). Here we take the grenade launcher and follow Apoc to a bathroom where everybody are already waiting on us.
We follow rest of our team and equip the grenade launcher. Some time later from the place where we started comes a SWAT team. We send them a grenade. We run to where they were standing and the Detonation Pack, which was dropped by one of our enemies. We run back to our team and use the Detonation Pack on the gratings on the left side (screen 2).
We run along the tunnel and head to the stairs. We run down to the platform. Two members of an ordinary SWAT team slide down. We got to kill them and one of them will drop the Detonation Pack. We pick it up and use on the pillar in the middle of the platform (screen 1). We head back to our team and detonate the Pack. We run over the ruins to the other part of the tunnel.
In the end of the tunnel another SWAT team slides down. We kill them all and take their Detonation Pack (if we can't find a Detonation Pack - don't worry - on a platform with pillar not far from here the game will generate a guy with the Detonation Pack), but we don't use the Pack on the nearest gratings - boys from the SWAT team on the other side will do it for us (screen 2). We run through the freshly blown up gate and get rid of the whole SWAT team.
When we get separated from the others we hide near the pillar marked in red (screen 1).
A moment later we find another platform with a pillar in the middle. We do exactly as before but this time we don't blow it up. When we want to get back to the rest of our team the Agents cuts us of. We hide the remote end equip other weapon (but not the grenade launcher). After a while an Agent jumps on the platform. We can't win this one but we got to slow him down till the rest blow us a passage. We equip a weapon, fire at Agent and close in to him. When were close enough we hide the weapon and engage in hand-to-hand combat. After a longer while the rest blows us a passage. We focus and jump over the gap.
We jump back over the gap and run over the ruins upstairs. We pick up a Detonation Pack and run along the tunnel. We use the Pack on a grating and run a little further. Another SWAT team slides down. We eliminate all of our enemies, take their Detonation Pack and blow up grating. We run straight and find another SWAT team. We kill them and take their Pack. We run along the tunnel a little bit further and destroy another grating. Behind that gate is a balcony. From here we immediately jump down. Now we must kill two members of ordinary SWAT team. Next we go to the ladder and on top of it we turn right.
We've got a mission to do here to unlock a bonus combo "Quick Kicks" - we got to at least touch the highest platforms in the hall:
We run along a tunnel again. On the next balcony we find ourselves we jump down on a platform to the right (screen 1). We get rid of an enemy here and head to the ladder.
Here we face three waves of enemies. It starts with an ordinary SWAT team, next is an ordinary SWAT team with a leader and the last wave is a mixed one. It's ordinary and special teams. Remember - attack focused the units with shields.
In the left upper corner we can see Morpheus' face and a bar informing us about the time which left before Morpheus is "broken" by Agents. We don't care about it specially because it turns red and the count down is started when we have already defeated all three waves. Than we run to the elevator in the end of the hall (screen 2).
On the roof we continually fight against SWAT teams and an Agent.
When we fight the SWAT members we don't use focus (only for those with shields) and necessarily take their weapons.
There are two methods for an Agent:
As early as the level begins we start shooting to the chopper as soon as it appears. In this task can help us a grenade launcher which we can find on the chopper landing pad.
In the very end on the roof will land a chopper. Trinity will get in it and launch off. Our goal is to run toward the chopper and do a focus double jump from the very edge of the building.
During this level we shoot from to the building. We shoot with series so our gun doesn't overheat. We should focus for more precisely aiming. We kill Agents only by shooting in focus because if we don't they will dodge every bullet.
First we shoot at soldiers on the roof. Next Trinity flies on a side of the building where we eliminate soldiers and one Agent behind windows.
Now we're being attacked by a hostile chopper (screen 1). For completely destroying it we get the "Art Graveyard" bonus material. We've got two chances to do it and better make sure we use them well.
Next Trinity flies on another side of the building. Here we have to kill many soldiers and an Agent. To quick kill everyone here we got to shoot to the pillar left from the Agent (screen 2 - pillar is marked in red).
Now we've got the second chance to destroy the chopper but first we shoot to the missile which he send flying towards us. Next the hostile chopper will fly above us. Now we got to destroy it - we won't have another chance. If the chopper crush into a building it means we did it but if it flies away... well you know it yourselves.
Next Trinity takes us to the windows where Morpheus is. We focus and shoot the agents (screen1). In one moment, one floor higher, appear two soldiers with rocket launchers (screen2). First we destroy those missiles and next we kill the soldiers. Now it's time to kill the Agents. When Morpheus stands up and starts running toward the chopper Smith will run through the door on the left. We kill him and wait till our leader jumps in to the chopper.
It's the famous fight with Agent Smith in the old subway station. We don't try to defeat him all by ourselves because it's impossible. After a certain time we will hear in speakers "Incoming train. Please stay behind the white line". From now on there will be a train passing by in regular intervals. So to defeat Smith we got throw him on the tracks (screen 1). If he's already there and the train doesn't come we take out our pistol and start shooting to him - he will dodge our bullets instead of running away. When we manage do defeat him we will see a cut-scene where Neo flies through a thick wall.
Now the only thing that left to be done is to find the way out. We run along the corridor and go through door on the right side. In this corridor the floor will collapse and we will land in front of some iron bars. We immediately turn back and slide down on a slope. We run to a corridor on the right side (screen) and to the very end of it.
After escaping from Smith we land in another old subway station. It's really a Matrix's error. We got to get out of here.
In the beginning we run towards the gates and than on the subway platform. After a while an old carriage. We walk towards the door of the carriage and wait till a ticket collector comes out (screen 1). He tells us that we need a token for a ride. We head back toward the gates and pick one of the flying tokens (screen 2). Now we go back to the trainman and give him the token. We wait till Neo ask for a phone. He will tell us that the phone is in the last carriage. We got to get there.
The train is made of four carriages:
After getting instruction from Tank we head back to the second carriage. We got to get inside when it's shifted properly (I mean the floor is floor and the ceiling is ceiling) - if it's not we run back to the third carriage and than back to the second - we repeat this process till the carriage is in proper position. Now we run toward the emergency break and wait till a voice in speakers say "Balboa station, watch your step". In that moment we use the break.
We get out of the train, turn left and upstairs. We are attacked by an ordinary SWAT team. We kill them all and run out of this old station. Now we turn left.
Now we find ourselves in another subway station (it's not an error this time). We got to defeat the special SWAT team. After that we attack Smith. He calls reinforcements.
Now we observe the trains very carefully. One of the cargo trains will have a flat platform on it (screen 1). We jump on it. A little while later the train stops. We climb the ladder directly in front of us (screen 2).
We move fast or else we fall to the Agents. While running from time to time we make a bullet dodge to evade getting hit.
We run in this order:
Our task during this level is to defeat three Agents. When we hit one enough he will change body. In place of the old one will stay a police officer and the Agent will take over a body of a different civilian on this floor. When we defeat all three of them it's time for the final (in the first part of the trilogy) fight with Smith. We defeat him with ease and that's the end of the level.
We begin the mission "Red Pill" with this level - because we learn here the anti-gravity jump which will be very helpful in other "Red Pill" missions.
We got to save a cop who shoots to us once.
We begin the level with a pursuit after an ex-cop. After some time he shout: "Looks like the SWATs are coming for you now". It mean that we must prepare for a fight because on the next floor two members of an ordinary SWAT team are waiting for us and two more members on the next floor. One of those members drops a pack with grenades (screen 1). We pick them up - it's very important. We walk to the crushing stairs (screen 2) equip the grenades and jump over the stairs.
We now watch a cut-scene with a special SWAT team (we've got 30 seconds to kill them all - that if we want to get a new combo of course). As soon as it ends we jump over the big gap to the team throw a grenade right under their foots. After killing all of them we wait till our health meter is completely restored and than run upstairs.
An Agent is threatening the cop. To distract his attention from the guard we got to hit him a few times (I mean the Agent).
Now we got to defeat one Agent. When we finish him of a bunch of ordinary SWAT members will jump through the windows. First we drag Agent's attention away from the guard. Next we kill all of the SWAT members in the room. We attentively observe the cop's health meter. If it begins to drop we immediately run to rescue him. When we're done with the SWAT tem we got to defeat the Agent.
We begin the level with getting rid of all the ordinary SWATs on the floor. After doing this we run toward the big, wooden door. In the same moment a few more SWATs comes out of the elevator. We defeat all of them too and run toward the wooden door once again. We try to open it.
Here we must first defeat Chuang Tzu to gain his respect. We can't use any guns.
After the fight with Tzu a few SWAT team members slide through the windows. We got to defeat them all fighting along side with Chuang Tzu. When we manage to do this two Agents jump in to the room. We got to eliminate them too to end this level.
We run straight toward us. We find ourselves on a square and Neo ask a civilian where to find the healer. We got to get to inside his shop (screen).
After we head back to the square we're attacked by a few SWAT teams. We kill all of our enemies (some citizens will help us) and wait till the healer crosses the street.
We don't have to worry about the healer - he's immortal. Our goal is to defeat every single foe on this level.
Now we run toward the place we begun this level.
It appears that we were cut off the exit. Link tells us to go to the subway station. To get there we must first get to the healer's shop. In our way back we're also being attacked. We defeat all of the enemies and walk to the shop.
After a longer while we enter the store. Here we kill a few enemies and jump inside a secret stash. We arm ourselves and run on the street.
Here wait a lot of enemies to be eliminated. Those are the ordinary and special SWAT teams and their leader. From the store we head to the crossroad and turn right. When we defeat all of the SWAT units we got to fight with one Agent - he's the last enemy on this level.
We run toward the girl and jump down over the railing to the right. We run toward the bar. Now we face the bar guards and their leader. After a while a few next foes run in. After we deal with them we wait till the girl shout that she got the key. Now we run out the room (screen 2).
We run up stairs and to a room with lots of pillars. Here we got to defeat a bunch of Merovingian's thugs. We don't use any weapon here. If we manage to kill them without using any gun we will be rewarded with a bonus material "Storyboard Sequence 1".
We got to defend the librarian from the Agents.
There're two of them. We don't need to kill them - they will be back. Our task is to drag their attention from the librarian. Some time later the women run out of this library hall. We run after her. We find ourselves in a corridor. We run along it and get to a room with a special SWAT team waiting on us. After killing them all we head through the second door in the room (screen 2) and along the corridor.
We're now in an office. We hear Neo talks to the librarian and as soon as the conversation is over we're transferred near the stained-glass window. We jump out though it. In this room we got to face a large amount of special SWAT team members. First on the ground floor and next on the first floor. After we eliminate them all an Agent shows up. We got to kill him too.
In the beginning we got to face three upgraded Agents. They're a little bit faster and stronger than their predecessors. And their life regenerates itself overtime.
After killing all three of them a SWAT team comes inside the building. We defeat them and run out of the building. Here we got to defeat all of our foes including the one standing on a balcony (the easies way to do it is to destroy the balcony).
We begin with killing all the SWAT team members on the ground floor. Next three Agents appear. We got to kill them too. We watch out for Niobe. They can seriously hurt her.
Now we run on the first floor First thing we do is to shoot a mechanism left from the door (screen 2). We're careful - the Agents are throwing large boulders at us from above. They aren't a direct threat to us but they crush the floor (screen 1) and if we don't jump over it we will have to get back on the floor we just fell of.
After destroying the mechanism the door will shut and we get rid of all the members of the SWAT team on this floor and head to the next one.
On this floor we repeat the thing with the mechanism and run on the next floor.
Here we got to defeat all the Agents once again. The easies way to do it is to throw them down - they die instantly. After killing them all we wait for captain Niobe and walk toward her. She says that she will make it from here - this is the end of our task.
We are in a restaurant now. In the first corridor we defeat three ordinary SWATs. We run toward the kitchen. Here we take care of another ordinary SWAT team. We follow Ballard to the elevator. When we hear a beeping sound we run back immediately. Now it's our turn to lead Ballard. We lead him through a corridor (two foes here) to a second kitchen.
Here we got to get rid of all units of special SWAT team - there aren't guys with shields so we do it with ease. Next we run through next door.
We run along a corridor. We defeat two members of a special SWAT team and from the main restaurant hall comes their leader. We take care of him too. Caution!!! A bug!!! There can be such a situation: We won't we able to get inside the restaurants main hall because of an invisible wall.
In this hall we got to kill all of the well trained soldiers. In this task two shotguns stored behind the bar can help us. After we kill all the soldiers three Agents appear. We got to defeat them and don't let them kill Ballard.
Screen 1:
1. A lift to the crane,
2. A shelf ready to be destroyed.
We're in a large warehouse. Here wait many enemies on us but first we don't care about the foes and run directly toward the marked shelf (screen 2) and destroy it. With this we block the way in for other soldiers. Now we can start exterminating our foes. After we kill all of them we run toward the crane lift (screen 1 - 1) and ride it to the top.
When we get to the top we use the crane. First we pick the red square and press [Enter]. Next we use the crane again and pick the green square. We jump down on a platform below (there's Roland waiting on us). In a room across the hall appear a member of a special SWAT team with a grenade launcher - we can't do anything about it now. So we try to avoid the grenades fight the other SWATs that are jus entering the hall.
Link calls to us some time later and says that we can use the crane as a weapon now. When entering the crane for the second time we can't use the lift. So we got to jump in (hints for the screen):
1. First we got to jump onto the junk hanging on the crane,
2. From the junk we jump to the main crane part.
We use the crane and this time we pick the black square. We jump of the crane and run to meet Roland.
Without wasting any moment we go toward the edge of the building and jump down. We kill the SWAT members here and run along the road. Near the end of the road is a soldier with a grenade launcher.
Screen 1:
1. Enemy with the grenade launcher - we kill him as the firs one,
2. Enemy on the balcony - to kill him we must destroy the balcony.
Now we pick up the grenade launcher but we don't use it now - it will come in handy later.
Screen 2:
1. First we kill all of the SWAT members running through the door on the right,
2. Next we jump on the building to get a secret briefcase and another grenade launcher.
Now we jump down and defeat the rest of enemies. When we deal with all of them an Agent will fly to us in a chopper. We run to the end of the street so we stand directly under the chopper (screen 1). We equip the grenade launcher and shoot the Agent down.
The fight with Seraph is made of four stages:
First we fight with him in a wooden cottage between some tables and pillars. After hurting him enough the fight moves to the outside.
We fight Seraph on wooden pales. Here we don't attack. We're making evades without a break and wait for Seraph to attack. When he attacks he will surely miss. Now he's stunned for a moment. We use the chance and press the special attack button. Our goal is to throw him on the street a few times.
Now the fight move to a cinema right on the fight scene between Neo and Seraph. This stage of the fight is decisively the hardest one. We can barely see him and his live regenerates very quickly. Right in the beginning we grab a broomstick (left and right side of the screen) and we start hitting him with it.
The fight is back in the cottage. Here we don't fight our enemy. We run around the cottage and destroy every pillar and every table to get a secret combo "The Beginning of the End" (briefcase appears in the middle of the room). If we got hurt during this task we evade the fight for some more time and when we're completely healed we start do fight Seraph.
The time has come for a very spectacular fight with many copies of ex-Agent Smith.
We start the fight with a few enemies. After a while more and more of them run on the square. Now we jump toward one of the building and take a metal pole. We smack Smiths without mercy.
Our fight causes the surrounding buildings to collapse. After all four buildings collapsed the rouge programs will disappear and Neo will fly away. Remember - after killing about 30 ex-agents a briefcase will appear in the centre of the square. It's the "The One" combo.
We begin the level facing a bunch of Merovingian's men. We want to shoot to us but they load their guns so slowly that it is a waste of time to wait for them. It's better to jump on a stairs and pick a weapon.
We fight our enemies and after a time some of them will also pick a weapon. Now we got two choices: hide our weapon and disarm them or keep fighting till our weapon crushes and now disarm a foe.
After we defeat all of the thugs we run through the door on the left (screen 1). We run along a corridor and land in a small salon. Now we run toward the secret passage behind the bookshelf.
We're now in dungeons. We run a long corridor toward a red cross. When we're half way there two thugs jump out. We dispatch of them and continue running. In the end we turn to the right to find a briefcase with a bonus material "Storyboard Sequence 2". After we pick up the briefcase we turn back and run toward a grating. We try to open the door. We're now taken to a torture hall. Here we face three opponents but we got to kill only one of them. The rest will be defeated by the girl chained to the table. We run out of the room and turn left. We find ourselves in a round room. After Merovingian's a little -too- long monologue we go through the green door.
In this level our only enemies are huge, man-sized ants (and they know kung fu :P). We can defeat them only by using fire. We fight them using torches or throwing them to the flames. If we choose to fight them with a torch after suffering certain damage they turn in something kind of a red mist (screen) - we got to attack the mist to kill the ant. If we don't do it the ant will regenerate itself.
Now to begin the level. We run directly at the door in front of us. Now we jump on the platform right from here, we run upstairs take the torch (it will later come in handy). We jump to the platform with a "flame pool" on a wall (screen 1). On the opposite wall to the "pool" is a hole (screen 2) - we jump there and take a briefcase. Now we jump in the emptiness. Now we turn around and run inside a corridor in front of us. On the other side of the corridor we find a door. We go through them.
Now we got to defeat a giant ant. When we get rid of it we run on the stairs - they're in pieces but when we close in they change so that we can go upstairs. Now we throw the boulder away (using the bullet stop ability) stand on the button in the place where the boulder was. We wait till the grating on the middle door opens and we run through that door. We jump on the wall to the left, run a little further and jump toward the yellow focus marker (screen 2). We jump to get the briefcase and then into the emptiness. We head to the stairs once again but this time we run through the door on the right side.
Here we have to deal with some other ants. After we accomplish it we jump on the platform to the left and run toward the big stained-glass window. From here we jump one level higher and run to the left. Next we jump on a small wall behind which we find a secret briefcase [1]. We head back to the place with the stained-glass window and jump on the near platform (it's with the "flame pool" [2]). We jump on the very bottom of it and pick up another briefcase. We jump into the emptiness.
We turn left and jump on a wall. We keep running in that direction and we find stairs leading down (screen 1). We go down and through the door.
Now we're on a platform with a fountain. We defeat two ants and we hear that our noisy friend is in trouble. We move the boulder (screen 2) and stand on the button. We open the gate leading to our friend. From that gate jump out two more monsters. After we kill them, three more will appear. And after we kill them too we're free to go through the opened gate and through the door on our left.
We land on the platform with the "flame pool". Now it's right side up. We throw the ants to the "pool" for a quick kill. When we take care of all of our enemies we run upstairs and go through the left door (screen 1).
Some more ants wait for us here. We got to find a torch fast. When we dispatch all of the ants we jump on the large, flying boulders toward a door (screen 2). We go through them and next through the door in front of us. We find ourselves in a long corridor. We run till the very end of it and go through another door. Now we're back in the Merovingian's dungeons and the time has come for the red door.
We run along the corridor to a hall with lots of pillars. We got to defeat three enemies to be able to proceed.
We run along another corridor. About half way there we're attacked by two thugs. We eliminate them and run to the next hall.
In this hall we got to kill more of Merovingian's thugs. Be careful - we don't fight near the cauldrons. They sometimes blow up and such an explosion can kill us.
After we get rid of all our enemies here we proceed to another corridor. No one wait for us here but in the last chamber some guys do.
When we kill all of the Merovingian's thugs here he will teleport us to the place where we have started the level. Now we keep our eyes open because enemies jump out of the walls.
We run to the firs hall - it seems like empty, but in every column wait an enemy till we close in. We got to kill 12 enemies here. We can't do breaks before the fights. Always at least one guy must be alive before we free another one. If we do it correctly we will get a briefcase (it will appear in the middle of the hall). If we don't get it, it means that we have done something wrong.
After we kill all enemies here the door will open (just like before). Here wait for us two more of Merovingian's thugs. They jump out of the walls (screen 2).
In the next hall our foes turn on the electric current which flows through metal gratings on walls and through tables. We better not touch them but instead we throw our enemies there - they die instantly. Some of them even kill themselves on those things.
Now we run along the next corridor. Here wait four enemies for us.
In the last chamber wait an extremely hard foe. We kill him by combining the hand-to-hand attack with the fire power. But first thing we do is to jump on the platform hanging in the center of the hall and pick up a grenade launcher (screen 2).
We fight like this: We fire at our enemy still closing in when we're close enough we hide our weapon and engage in hand-to-hand combat. We attack him with a powerful hit e.g. the "code breaker". After that our enemy disappears - he try to regenerate his life. We can't let him do it. We turn on the code vision and locate our target.
After we kill him we're transported to the round room. Now it's time for the yellow door.
We begin the level with finding the right girl. We walk toward the three tables. We turn on the code vision mode and look for the blue girl. We walk to her and use the Bullet stop ability on the big boulder hanging above her.
Now it's time for a fight with the Witch. She throws different kinds of things at us. We catch those things with the bullet stop skill and throw them back at her. When the Witch is standing on the little stairs set we don't throw things at her just run to her and attack her physically. We do the same when she's standing near our friend (just be careful not to hit our ally), and when she lift the screaming girl to the air we run as fast as we can - the Witch will use our friend's voice against us.
When we cause enough damage to the Witch the combat will change a little. She doesn't throw things at us anymore just try to attack us physically. We begin this stage of combat from disarming our enemy. Now we can start hitting her. But be careful - from time to time a green mist appear around her (screen 1) - we don't attack her now, we will end stunned and our weapon will break. We should run away and wait till the fog disappears. If she manages to break our weapon we can use one of those hanging on the room's walls (screen 2). We don't need to carry about the screaming girl anymore - she can even die.
After we kill the Witch we go through the door behind the sacrifice tables.
Smith kidnaps the Keymaker. We got to save him and lead him out.
We run along the corridor and we end up in a room with huge TVs inside. Here we're attacked by two Smiths. After we take care of them a passage opens behind the TVs. We run toward the bifurcation and following the Morpheus' order we pick the way to the right. We find ourselves in a room with some Smiths inside.
After we kill them we run toward the next corridor and on the following bifurcations we run like this: straight, right, right.
We find another room full of Smiths. Here is also the Keymaker. We got to defeat all of Smith's copies but the most important is thing is that old man. Smith wants the Keymaker to join his army. We can't let him do that. First of all we drag attention of Smiths away from the old man.
After we kill all of the enemies we run into another corridor. We find three walls made of TVs (screen 1). They "shoot" those TV towards us. We dodge them in focus. A while later we find another three walls made of TVs. Those shoot at us too plus one Smith jump out of the wall exactly in front of us. After beating him up we run further along the corridor. We find another wall made of TVs but this one is different (screen 2). We walk toward it and as soon as it starts to fall we run back. It fell because of three Agents. We kill them and run toward the dead end. After a while Morpheus make a hole in this wall for us. We run inside the round room and that's the end of this level.
Caution! In this level I use directions like "left/right side". Those regards to how we stand when we begin this level (face toward altar).
In the vestibule we take the sword from the stone sculpture and head to the main part of the church. We got to face a great amount of Smiths. From time to time we're called by the Keymaker.
After we go inside the main part we jump on the first floor on the left side to help Morpheus.
Some time later the Keymaker calls us. We jump down - his near the entrance on the right side.
Next there will be open door on the firs floor, on the left side,
Next one will open on the left side of the altar,
And the last door will open on the right side of the altar (screen 2).
Remember about the secret:
On the first floor there are four sculptures (two on each side - screen 1). We got to damage them all to get the bonus. There will be a message show on the screen saying that we unblocked a secret.
It's another mission where we got to face a huge amount of Smiths. We fight with three waves of Smiths:
After we survive those three waves we will hear Keymaker's voice saying that we're now free to go. But when we play this level for the first time we don't escape so quickly. We still got to defeat three waves of Smiths with assault rifles to gain the bonus material: "Character Concept (part 2)".
The time has come for the final battle with Smith. We fight him on the ground and in the air. It changes a few times during this battle. He's a hard enemy. When we fight him on the ground we try to use as many special combos as possible.
We begin the battle on the street. We're surrounded with other, standing calmly, Smith's clones. But if we close in to the edge too much they will grab us and throw back on the street. After we destroy half of the street using Smith the fight will move into the air.
When our enemy is far away from us we wait till he attacks us (he will fly like a torpedo toward us) we make an evade move (we press only the evade button, nothing else). Just as we dodge his attack we can hit him a few times (a good idea is this: 2x normal attack 1x special attack). If he's close we keep attacking him - that will also block his attacks. If he's a little bit further (to close for him to charge at us and to far for us to reach him with a normal attack) or if he's stunned - we charge the "killing blow" hit and wait till he close in a little and unleash the power of this hit. When we catch Smith or he catches us we press the normal attack button a few times as fast as we can (mostly it ends on send our enemy flying toward a nearby building).
After a while we land in a building and we fight Smith normally, as we did before on the street. There may have place such a situation: Our enemy will destroy the floor and we will have to deal with him on a lower floor. We will have a metal beam for our disposal.
The fight continues in the air (the way you should fight in the air you will find a little bit earlier). Some time later the battle moves inside a nearby building (here we find a briefcase with "PON Cinematics" - screen 2), but it last only a while and it get moves back to air.
After we take or inflict enough of damage, Neo or Smith will grab his enemy and thrust him into the ground (it depends on who had inflicted more damage in this stage of fight).
The battle takes now place inside a crater and we learn a new move: "Mega Punch". We charge it when our foe is far away or just got up. When he's close we attack him normally.
We defeat Smith and it's over..................no it's not! It's time to fight SmithZilla!
THIS is the final battle with Smiths!
The whole fight is all about evading his attacks and attacking him in the right moment.
Here is the list of attacks used by the monster on certain difficulty levels:
Independently of the difficulty level at one point of the battle we are under attack of Smiths who fall out of the giant construction.
SmithZilla's attacks and hints how to take care of them:
We dodge all of his attacks in focus. Most of them is symmetric (except for the clap), which means that SmithZilla can attack with left or right hand. After a few of our own attacks it will lose his left hand. He won't attack with the clap any longer and rest of the attacks will perform only using the right hand.
If we get hit we may be thrown away at a distance. We will have to deal with the monster from here.
The monster throws balls of junk at us. We don't move from our place and when the balls are in the air we start charging the "Killing Blow" attack and when those balls are near us we release the buttons to destroy them (screen 1).
After we destroy some of the monster's balls he will get mad and it's time for us to attack him in the already known way - we charge at him (screen 2).
