Neutral and Allied Mobs in Minecraft - For Dummies
Some mobs are neutral, leaving you alone until you provoke them. Minecraft has only a few neutral mobs, and some of them can become allied and fight alongside you, as described in the table.
Neutral and Allied Mobs
Neutral or Allied Mob |
What It Does |
Cat
A
cat, which is a tamed ocelot, can follow you around.
It attacks chickens and scares creepers. Right-click a cat to have
it sit or follow you. It can be bred like certain passive mobs.
(Use raw fish instead of wheat.)
Enderman
The
enderman is a mysterious and rare nightfolk that
originates from the End. Powerful and tall, it teleports for
locomotion and to avoid damage; it dodges projectiles and detests
water and sunlight. The enderman is provoked whenever you place the
crosshair over it.
Iron golem
The
iron golem is a slow but powerful village guardian
that is built by placing a pumpkin on top of a cross of iron
blocks. Giant but slow, it attacks nearby hostile mobs or any
player who attacks a villager. It flings targets into the air and
inflicts massive damage, and it spawns naturally in some villages
or when built by the player.
Snow golem
A
snow golem can be built by putting a pumpkin on top of
2 snow blocks. This guardian trails snow as it walks, and it lobs
snowballs at hostile mobs, knocking them back. Though harmed by
water, with enough numbers it can kill Blaze. It explodes into
snowballs when killed.
Wolf
The wolf is a wild dog that can be tamed. Don’t attack it
or else its entire group will charge you. While holding bones,
right-click an unprovoked wolf a few times to feed it until
it’s tame; right-click tamed wolves while holding meat to
feed and heal them. Right-clicking tamed wolves also tells them to
sit or follow. Following wolves appear next to you if they
can’t reach you; tamed wolves attack your enemies but avoid
creepers.
Zombie pigman
The zombie pigman is a wanderer from the Nether that attacks
you if you attack one of its brethren. Undead, it attacks in a
swarm and wields a golden sword. Some zombie pigmen can equip
better weapons and armor.
