Destiny Beta: Hidden Gold Loot Chests Locations

One of the things that sets Destiny apart from other Epic Shooters such as Halo are the MMO elements and the most common element of all MMOs are hidden and collectable items. There are many different things to be found throughout the world of destiny, the most significant of which are Destiny’s gold loot chests. These golden chests will appear in the same place once for each individual player and will have better items than normal chests, mostly rare or uncommon items that wont be found again unless you spend hours searching through random drops. These chests are usually hidden in random areas or small caves, which aren’t necessary to enter in order to complete the game so make sure you search each level thoroughly as you attempt to level up.



In total five Golden chests can be located inside the Old Russia area in various places and finding all of the chests will get you an additional reward. Read on to see the locations of all of the Gold Chests hidden inside the Destiny Beta.

Gold Chest 1

The first of these Golden chests can be found in the Story mode mission called Restoration. It is located inside the building located between The Divide and The Steppes. First climb up the stairs to enter the building and the chest will be sitting on a desk inside the first corridor you enter. Easy! This chest is almost impossible to miss but don’t get used to it, the locations will no doubt get harder as you progress.
 

Gold Chest 2

When tackling the mission called “The Dark Within”, look inside the chamber of the lunar complex where you fight with the Wizard for a way to climb up onto the roof. Once you are there, walk along the back wall until you pass some equipment and the chest will be in front of you.
 

Gold Chest 3

This chest can be found on a path during The Warmind mission. As you travel between the Mothyards and the Forgotten Shore areas keep an eye out for the waterfalls. As you head down the winding path near these waterfalls, look for a small trickling stream of water in front of a small cave opening in the side of the cliff. Inside this cave in where this golden chest is located.
 

Gold Chest 4

The fourth chest is located on the coast during the Warmind mission. The easiest way to locate this chest is to leave from the Forgotten shores in the direction of Skywatch and head up the cliff. As you head towards the steep part of the cliff you can drop down the cliff side where you will find a path that leads towards the chest.
 

Gold Chest 5

This chest is found during “The Devil’s Lair” Strike Mission after fighting Septiks Prime. Once you are in the final chamber, head down the staircase to your right and you should see the chest directly in front of you once you reach the bottom.
