When it comes to new versions of Windows, people always have mixed reactions. Some love the differences and are excited to embrace the changes while others fondly remember the old days and want to go back.
In the case of the Windows clock, some people miss the old analog one that popped out when you clicked the time at the bottom right of the screen. If you count yourself among them, don’t worry, because we’ll show you how to bring back the old one.
First things first, we’re going to be doing a little registry editing. It’s a little scary, but if you follow the instructions carefully, you’ll be just fine!
Pop open the Cortana search bar and type regedit. Click the top result to launch the Windows registry editor.
Next, in the sidebar, navigate through the folders to the following: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ ImmersiveShell.
Right-click anywhere in the white space on the right side of the window, mouse over New, then click DWORD (32-bit) Value. Name the new item UseWin32TrayClockExperience. Right-click on the key you just made, select Modify, and set the value to 1.
Click the time and date on the system tray and you’ll see the old clock back.
