Tyrael, Archangel of Justice Skills and Abilities - Heroes of the Storm

Tyrael is the Archangel of Justice, a character from the Diablo franchise. He is the greatest defender of humanity, he fights with his sword El'druin against demons who would have enslaved mankind long ago without his intervention.

Unable to enforce justice, we have justified force.

Tyrael is a member of the Angiris council, or the highest authority in the High Heavens, with four other archangels who are Auriel, Imperius, Itherael and formerly Malthael. His brother Inarius was also a member of the council but quit to create the Sanctuary with the succubus Lilith, a world where angels, demons and humans, tired of war like himself, could live in peace. When the council learnt of the existence of the Sanctuary, it was Tyrael who was given the responsibility to destroy it. It's especially because the angels were disgusted by the humans (according to them created by the folly of demons and the purity of angels) that he kept this destiny for the Sanctuary. He changes his mind the day when the human Uldyssian sacrificed himself to save his kind and the Sanctuary itself, realising the potential that could lie with this race.

When the moment came to vote on the destiny of the Sanctuary, it was Tyrael's vote, made with compassion, that saved it. Tyrael spent a lot of time watching mankind, never interacting with them as was forbidden in the laws of Heaven. Tyrael came to face a difficult decision when the existance of these very humans was put in danger by the release of the Prime Evils. He had to choose between following the law and intervening, which is when he understood the true meaning of justice, that is to say to never become attached to idealistic laws, but simply opt for the right thing to do. Tyrael went to the aid of the humans many times and sacrificed himself to destroy the Worldstone corrupted by the demon Baal.

When he came back from death twenty years later, Tyrael was judged by his peers for breaking the laws of Heaven and had to renounce his divinity. He continued to defend the innocent and was even helped by the Nephalem (the first generation of humans in the Sanctuary) to fight the demonic forces. Although the force of light emerged victorious, the threat wasn't totally removed, and Tyrael soon had to choose once again whether to follow the laws of Heaven or not, and this time his decision had far darker consequences.

Tyrael's abilities: Tomorrow never dies

Tyrael is a very versatile support tank. With decent AoE damage and controls, he can also protect most of his allies with the help of his spells, allowing him to take damage in their place. He would be a good choice to play whether you would like to play more offensively or defensively since his heroic abilities are an excellent way to engage, or a very good way to sustain/disengage. In any case you have what you need to defend your colleagues at will and drive your opponents completely crazy. 

(Passive) Archangel's Wrath

- Combat Trait

When Tyrael is about to die he becomes invulnerable and explodes after 3.5 seconds. Deals 200 damage to nearby enemies.

(Q) El'druin's Might

- 55 Mana
- Area of effect
- Cooldown: 12 seconds

Deals 350 (84 + 14 per level) damage to enemies within target area, slowing them by 25%.

Reactivating while the blade is present will teleport Tyrael to his blade, dealing 350 (84 + 14 per level) damage and slowing enemies by 25% in an area around it.


- 65 Mana
- Cooldown: 12 second

Shields Tyrael, absorbing 200 damage for 4 seconds. When the Shield expires it explodes, dealing 660 (204 + 24 per level) damage to nearby enemies.

(E) Hand of Sacrifice

- 50 Mana
- Cooldown: 13 seconds

Redirects the next 1000 (240 + 40 per level) damage dealt to target ally to Tyrael instead. This damage is reduced by 25%.

Lasts 10 seconds or until Tyrael and his ally are too far from each other.

Cannot be used on self.

(R)  Judgement

- 100 Mana
- Heroic Ability
- Cooldown: 100 seconds

Charges the target, dealing 325 (135 + 10 per level) damage and stunning them for 2 seconds. While charging, nearby enemies are knocked back and take 150 (55 + 5 per level) damage.

(R)  Sanctification

- 100 Mana
- Heroic Ability
- Cooldown: 50 seconds

While channeling, Tyrael makes all nearby allied Heroes invulnerable and unstoppable. Lasts 3 seconds.

Does not affect Tyrael.
