Sarah Kerrigan, the Queen of Blades is an assassin hero from the Starcraft franchise. Once a ghost with psionic abilities, she was betrayed by her allies and transformed by the Zerg into the Queen of Blades. Now freed of Amon's corruption, Kerrigan face a threat that could destroy the galaxy itself.
Sarah Louise Kerrigan discovered the strength of her psionic powers as a young girl. An innocent flash of anger at her parents resulted in massive cerebral hemorrhaging and a horrif death for her mother. This gruesome event alerted the Terran Confederacy to her powers and she quickly became the focus of the ghost programme. Breaking scores on psi-evaluation tests, her abilities elicited a complete readjustment of the scoring system so that she could be properly measured. The remnants of her humanity were stripped from her, and Kerrigan was designated Ghost Number 24601.
Following her release from the ghost programme, she became an unstoppable assassin for the corrupt Confederate government. It was her assassination of the independent senator Angus Mengsk that brought her to the attention of his son, Arcturus. Initially wanting revenge, he quickly realised that she was a much more useful weapon against the Confederacy. After rescuing her from a clandestine experimental facility, he removed her neural inhibitor and used her restored memories to make her angry against a government that had abused her. Kerrigan and Mengsk became allies.
She was running a mission on Antiga Prime when she met Jim Raynor for the first time. He disapproved of her dealings with the Confederacy, but the conflict between the two soon grew to mutual respect, admiration, and even... something more. Kerrigan and Raynor ran several secret missions before Mengsk brought them to Tarsonis. Even Kerrigan who felt few human emotions was shocked to learn that Arcturus planned to place psi emitters to lure the zerg into one of the most densely populated planets in the sector, which resulted in the death of almost every living thing on Tarsonis. Voicing her opposition, Kerrigan nevertheless fulfilled her mission, defending people against a new alien threat: the Protoss. Mengsk took advantage of that loyalty, and abandoned her to certain death on Tarsonis once the mission was over. He couldn't risk having a dangerous weapon like Kerrigan running loose, and he was able to get vengeance at the same time.
Contrary to what he expected, the Zerg Overmind sensed Kerrigan's incredible power and transformed her into the Queen of Blades, a deadly combination of psionic powers and biological weapons. Not wanting to hamper her intellectual and strategic brilliance, the Overmind left her a degree of individual will that made her different from its cerebrates. It was this freedom that allowed her ambitions to rise, and before long she conquered her cerebrate kin and took charge of the Swarm when the Overmind was slain. Kerrigan now commands the zerg towards an unknown future, but one thing is sure, many lives are bound to her destiny.
Kerrigan is the ultimate assassin. Dealing very high damage, notably splash damage, she has more abilities than she needs to pursue her enemies and keep them in place so that she is always on their heels until it's over. Be careful during long teamfights, she's lethal!
