Lumos Cat guide - Tips and tricks to effectively defend the cat nap

Lumo's Catis a psychadellic, fever dream of a game that involves you protecting a sleeping cat from noisy, monochromatic mice in an innovative blend of tower defence and real-time strategy.

With that in mind, check out these top tips to help keep your cat napping.

Keep your healer alive!

This is generally a good idea in most games with healing units, but especially important in Lumo's Cat.

Your units can only protect your cat if they're alive, and they have a much better chance of staying alive if you keep your healer protected.

Any easy strategy to accomplish this is to have a lightning unit hang out by the healer ready to pop a series of zaps if mice get too close.

If things get rough, take a milk break

Food affects the difficulty in each level by providing you with a buff or debuff depending on what you feed your cat.

If you use all of the buff food in one level you'll cruise through it but you may end up making things more difficult for yourself in the long run. Try and always conserve some of your food for potential tough levels later.

Of course, some of the game's fun comes from challenging yourself, so using a debuff food from time to time could be rewarding.

Check in on unit availability as much as possible

Just because there are five unit types, doesn't mean you can only have five units out at once.

Each can be spawned as many times as you want by using milk or waiting for their timers to recharge.

Tap and hold Tips

Some of Lumo's Cat's units have tap-and-hold activated abilities that aren't always the easiest things to pull off in the heat of the moment.

That being said, players should know that these abilities can be unleashed quickly in combination with a move command if they just keep their finger held down after swiping to move.

This can make it so one bomb and lightning units can be ready to blow as soon as either of them hits a pack of mice.
