Want to show that your characters in Grand Theft Auto V are in peak physical condition? Take part in a triathlon. There are three of these specific races across Los Santos. While these races don’t offer you any rewards, you’ll need to finish one in first place to get the “Multi-Disciplined” trophy or achievement. You also need to complete all three in order to 100% complete your game. Ready to start these demanding races? Check out our tips below.
Triathlons are all about physical strength, so you’ll want your characters to have as much strength and stamina as possible if you want to win. Any character can complete these triathlons, so use whoever has the highest skill. Remember that tapping the ‘sprint’ button will allow you to run faster, but it will deplete your stamina. This is why high stamina is key to winning the race. When you complete one portion of the race, you’ll get a little stamina boost if your stamina is less than half full.
Remember that assaulting any of your fellow competitors will result in an automatic disqualification, so don’t try to slow anyone down by punching them or firing your weapon!
This race has 22 checkpoints, and it starts on Vespucci Beach, on the airport peninsula. This is the easiest triathlon, and completing it successfully will unlock the next one. In this race, you’ll need to swim through 4 checkpoints, bike through to checkpoint 19, and then finish the last three on foot. This race is fairly easy. Avoid the sand when you are on the bike as it will slow you down, and try to find shortcuts to the next checkpoint whenever possible.
This race is located in Grapeseed, on the east shoreline off of Seaview Road. It has 22 checkpoints and has a loop. This race has more swimming then the previous triathlon. Go through the four checkpoints in the water, bike your way to checkpoint 18, and sprint the last 4 checkpoints on foot. Finishing this triathlon unlocks the last race, which is also the most difficult.
This very long triathlon starts at the south beach off the Alamo Sea in Sandy Shores. It has a total of 119 checkpoints and it will literally take you approximately 30 minutes (yes, that’s real life time). You start swimming through the first seven checkpoints. If you are lagging behind, you can try to swim underwater if you have decent lung capacity.
Next, bike through to checkpoint 85. This makes up the bulk of the race. You’re going to down all the way down into the city. Make sure to sprint as much as possible and hug the corners to get ahead. Look for shortcuts you can take by veering across sidewalks or over grass.
The last section has you running through the remaining checkpoints. There’s not much you can do here – just sprint as much as possible and try to put more space in between you and the other competitors! Cross the finish line and celebrate your win by stretching your thumb.
