4 Gaming YouTube Channels You Need To Subscribe To

Video games on YouTube are a big deal. Plenty of interesting personalities use the service as a way of getting their thoughts out to the public. We’ve already looked at some classic gaming YouTube shows you need to follow, some of the best video game reviewers, and VideoGamer.com’s funniest videos. Now, we are going to take a look at some of the best general gaming channels that will keep you entertained for hours on end through engaging video game content.

TotalBiscuit

You may know the channel as TotalHalibut, but whatever you know him as, TotalBiscuit makes some fantastic content, especially for those who are fans of PC games. He’s also known as the Cynical Brit, and with good reason, as his sarcastic sense of humor most certainly comes through in his videos in a way that adds to the entertainment value.

This channel features tons of quality videos, and TotalBiscuit is incredibly active, so there is always new stuff to watch. Whether it’s his WTF is… series where he provides candid first impressions of games, his daily news breakdowns where he announces and breaks down the biggest stories in the gaming world, or one of his other awesome types of videos, TotalBiscuit brings it all the time.

The Escapist Magazine

If you are not familiar with The Escapist as a channel, it’s incredibly likely that you will have heard of Yahtzee and his Zero Punctuation reviews. They are one of the main highlights of the channel overall, and they still do a fantastic job of pointing out some of the biggest flaws in many of the games that are released today.

However, The Escapist is more than just Zero Punctuation. It also features Escapist News Now, which keeps you informed on the biggest video game news, Escape to the Movies, where they talk about movies, Unskippable, a hilarious show that mocks some of the poor cinematics in games, and plenty of other good stuff that is worth watching.

Rev3Games

Any gamer in the United States is probably familiar with G4 TV and its review show X-Play. One thing that made that show so great was Adam Sessler, who has since left the show. Now, you can find him bringing his particular brand of video game personality to Rev3Games in a variety of shows.

The channel also features Tara Long, Anthony Carboni and others, each of whom bring their own style and level of entertainment as they discuss all sorts of interesting elements from the video game world. The casual style of video feels a lot like Giant Bomb, which is, in my opinion, the single greatest video game website for video content. The channel also has reviews, let’s plays, live streams, and so much other good stuff.

Machinima

I’m pretty sure anyone who follows the video game world closely is familiar with the massive channel known as Machinima. The breadth of gaming and non-gaming content found on their channel is simply staggering. It’s almost scary when you jump on their channel for the first time, as there is just so much to take in. That’s certainly not a bad thing, as almost any kind of content you could possibly want is there.

One of my personal favorite things on Machinima is the Mortal Kombat Legacy series. It tells the Mortal Kombat story in a far better way than the movies, and the level of quality makes you forget that you are watching a web series. Additionally, you will find some more traditional gaming content such as game of the year choices, top ten lists, and so much more. The channel’s bread and butter is its content that breaks the traditional mold, but even if that’s not your cup of tea, Machinima has plenty to offer.

Conclusion

If you love watching content about video games, these channels have you covered in a big way. I almost included Giant Bomb on the list, but their content is actually better consumed on the website. They do have a YouTube channel, but some videos are not uploaded there. Still, it’s worth a subscription.
