5 Up And Coming Gaming YouTube Channels To Add To Your Subscriptions

YouTube has some of the best gaming content on the Internet. But not all good content is made by the top channels — there are plenty of up and coming YouTubers that provide content just as good, but they’re simply not as well know.

Finding good but lesser-known channels is hard enough, so we did it for you. Here are five of them that you should take a good look at.

Strictoaster and Zhatt

Strictoaster and Zhatt are two YouTubers that tend to work together on videos, and they make awesome, high-quality content. They’re primarily known for their videos on SimCity, the latest release of the city-building series. Strictoaster is also a designer who places a lot of value on making his cities look pretty, which is a great source for creative inspiration in your own cities.

I initially found Strictoaster while searching YouTube for SimCity videos, and I later found Zhatt thanks to the occasional videos that the two make together.

Beside SimCity, these two also look at other games, including a great series on OpenTTD, the open source version of Transport Tycoon Deluxe. I like these two a lot, because they’re entertaining and offer videos on games others may not want to touch. In other words, they’re great to watch if you’re into tycoon or simulation games.

Zhatt also takes a look at other simulators, such as Rollercoaster Tycoon and Mobility, in his series ‘Whatzatt?” Who doesn’t love a good tycoon game?

Kotaku

Kotaku, the popular gaming website, is known throughout the gaming community, but the same can’t be said for its YouTube channel. They are a great group of gamers who take a look at various games and also have panel discussions. There are also other discussions about “eSports”.

Leo’s game reviews take a subtle, comical approach. He also uses a very soothing voice, almost in a comical way, which sometimes takes your attention away from the fact that people in the game just died of starvation, or you’re relentlessly crashing into cars.

Alex gets more into the nitty gritty of games, and talks about details other than gameplay. I can’t wait to see where this channel goes once they grow into something larger, but it’s already fantastic.

Besides all of this, there are also “Watch Us Play” and “Snacktaku” videos. I don’t really come to see the Snacktaku videos, but they’re there for your entertainment.

TurtleShell83

TurtleShell83 is an awesome YouTuber who offers some gameplay, but also has plenty of discussions about upcoming games. You can also find How-To videos which contain a mixture of games and game hardware.

This channel also has a series called “Haters,” where he talks about issues that are on a lot of gamers’ minds. There haven’t been any new videos in this series in the last few months, but he still has other videos that are worth watching.

So far, he’s been covering top games and providing some cool footage. For example, he has a video on how to stop spawn traps in Battlefield 3, as well as a video discussion over the latest console launches.

JPT93

I can’t finish off a list of YouTube gaming channels without including at least one that focuses on Minecraft. JPT1993 has a small YouTuber, but his content is very similar to more popular Minecraft channels, both in . Basically, a lot of the videos are about his adventures with his friends on a server, but they’re still very entertaining to watch.

The best way to get into these videos is to go to his user profile and search for the first episode of each series that he makes. There are several on his channel, but but many are just a record of where all his adventures occurred.

Hopefully when his channel grows, he can start checking out awesome Minecraft content. Maybe adding a Minecraft channel to this list is a little cliche, but I find a lot of them inexplicably entertaining.

Conclusion

These channels are pretty great, and I really hope that they can take off to get the recognition that I think they deserve. Of course, there are plenty of other smaller channels out there, but it’s hard to single them out as a recommendation.
