What Video Games Desperately Need Sequels? [We Ask You]

The video game industry has come of age in recent years, evolving from the dorky kid no one wanted to hang around with to the most popular kid in school. Unfortunately, while this evolution has had many positive effects, it’s also brought its fair share of negatives.

One of which is the same games (Call of Duty!) getting sequels year after year, whether they deserve to or not. Because, just like the movie industry, only titles guaranteed to make money get given the green light. Which leaves many quality games awaiting sequels that never arrive.

Desperately Seeking Sequels

We want to know, What Video Games Desperately Need Sequels?

We have previously listed games that definitely didn’t deserve sequels, as well as games we think are well overdue sequels. But we barely scratched the surface of classic video games in need of sequels, and we think you’re more than capable of adding to the list.

Simply tell us what video games you think deserve sequels. It doesn’t matter how young or old these games are, or whether they have previously had sequels. We just want your pick of video games you would like to see brought back to life in some way.

My personal choice has to be Shenmue, a series Sega killed after two amazing games. It saddens me to realize I’ll never know how that story ends, and almost makes me wish I had never played the Shenmue and Shenmue 2 in the first place. Almost, but not quite.

Think long and hard about this question before giving us your answer(s), because you never know who might be reading. After all, the advent of crowdfunding means the people who own the rights to these games could breathe new life into them by launching a campaign on Kickstarter or Indiegogo.

From Grim Fandango to Vagrant Story, from Blast Corps to The Last of Us. It doesn’t matter about the age or platform of the games you pick, as long as you pick at least one. So please scroll down to the comments section and add your voice to the conversation.
