Finding Fair Odds Casinos

Finding fair odds games at an online casino isn't as hard as some skeptics would like you to believe. In fact a large portion of online casinos use a publicly traded software which all but ensures a fair share of winners will happen.

Fair-odds game results returned in a completely random fashion are accomplished by the use of a computer program called a Random Number Generator. It was first created for use in video poker machines at casinos like those in Las Vegas or Atlantic City long before the internet was ever a twinkle in some nerd's eye. When the internet was born and the idea of online gambling having shortly followed there was the dilemma of how to provide games that would mimic Roulette, Blackjack, Craps and other exciting casino games which until now had never had a reason for being offered in any means other than the real version now needed a means of returning game results that would be fair and also random.

The Random Number Generator was the answer so after enjoying years of competent service at the land casinos providing game results for video poker, it now was faced with the task of returning fair-odds, random results for all casino games. It wasn't hard to accomplish because of the way the RNG works. It has a list of all the possible game results which it scrolls through at a rate of thousands of times per second. Whether you're playing Blackjack or a slot machine the Random Number Generator can be set to return game results in exact replica of the real game in a manner similar to this example. which I'll also use to demonstrate why single deck blackjack is better than multiple decks.

Lets say we are playing Blackjack and the deck is made up of three cards. An Ace, deuce and jack. The three cards are put into a hat ... or as done in with the RNG ... put on a list ... and when you press a button two of those three cards will be dealt to you. The first card is an ace. The second card drawn from the hat ... or rather stopped on the list ... is either a jack for Blackjack or a deuce which means no three to two payout. The chances were fifty percent of catching that winning jack by the way.

Now we go to double decks. Still a small number compared to the six and eight or more decks most land casinos use these days. This time it is only double the amount of decks to keep things simple. You are dealt an ace the first card as that is where the RNG stopped. Now your odds of being dealt a blackjack have dropped from fifty percent to two in five because there are five cards left and only two of them are jacks. The Random Number Generator will randomly choose one of the five cards or spots on the list it has and that will be your second card. Suddenly having a fifty percent chance of winning a three to two payout sounds a whole lot better than the chance the machine will land on one of the two spots that will make you a winner, out of the five spots that remain. For those of you that don't like to do the math the percentage dropped to forty on that second scenario.
