The Mother Base in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is no other than headquarter of the Diamond Dogs's. The Mother base is mostly used to make more money, train and support teams, and research new tech, but do to so you need to staff it with new members and also maintain it by building more upgrades. You will Find your mother base outside the ordinary map.

How to Built the Mother Base?
As you Begin, you will have a regular platform and you need to start building your Mother Base from the scratch. The Building totally depends on you as in which direction you need and what you value the most like state of art equipment,  battlefield support, independent teams or anything different. The upgrades you make to your Mother Base need money and time(30+ minutes).

If you need more money to upgrade your mother base try completing the side missions so you will also have the chance to use the Fulton device and snatch the vehicles, cargo containers, weapons and staff(people).

Note: Your Mother Base can only be used in Single-Player(Story)mode and it is free from intrusions.   

How to Recruit new Staffs?
Having Good Staffs at your base is very important as you need to use you money wisely on the upgrades. An expert staff can save time on the project as well as regularly check for the cost of supply to drop in return increasing the chances of successful fire teams.

• The Most easiest way to recruit an expert staff is by kidnapping from the battle. You can use the Fulton Balloons to snatch the enemies and ten changing them to fight for your cause.
• To know the person's stats, use the binoculars and you will come to the special skills of that particular person/staff as you have only limited amount of Fulton balloons.
• You can also send your support team with a diplomat to search for a new recruit.

Hint: You can assign the newly recruited staff to different jobs or you can also ask Miller to do the same(The staffs will report about Miller that he doesn't do it properly).

What are different Platforms in Mother Base?
You Base is located in the middle of the ocean and consists of 6 different platforms to work except the Command Platform as it is the Heart of your base. You need more staffs to upgrade these platforms as each have their own purpose.

Research and Development Platform:(R&D)
This platform allows you to R&D new items and weapons. The expert Staffs needs to speed up the complexity of the research. This Platform consists of more teams, one for the equipment, and the other for the Buddy.

Combat Unit Platform:(CU)  
This platform needs Good diplomats, fighters and botanists to work. The Combat Unit Platform basically houses the fireteams and mostly used to recruit new staffs during the battle/mission. You need to dispatch during the missions to get more staffs, resources etc.

Base Development Platform:
Base Development Platform is used to process and acquire resources and expanding the base more smoothly. One Base Development Platform is compulsory for your Mother Base no matter what you approach is.

Support Platform:
As the name explains it is used by the support teams. If you rely on the air drops and choppers you need to upgrade this platform regularly. The Fulton extractions, equipment for the field, interpreting foreign languages, providing cover fire, distractions and airstrikes are done by the support teams. 

Intel Platform:
The Intelligence team can be found here. To develop the advanced blueprints and using them on the field, provide information about the area you are heading in are done by the Intel Team.

Medical Platform:
Healing items prepared from the herbs is done by the Medical Team.

How to Customize the Mother base?
You need to customize your Mother base to make your troops more suitable and also to feel like Home. You can customize the platform's color, but unable to influence the design of platform(the way it is built). You can also change the Standard Emblem(Diamond Dogs) to what you ever you need.
