The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Hearts of Stone is now available and some of the enemies you will find in it could be too tough for you to beat them. That's why today we want to help and explain you how to take down the Caretaker of the von Everec estate. The Caretaker is a boss you find on your third and last quest from Everech: he's in the garden at the back of the house.
The Caretaker appears to be pretty tough because he can heal from whichever type of damage he does to you. Anyway, this process won't work if you have a shield equipped until it doesn't break. So the first tip is obviously to carry over a good shield before you opt for this quest.
The boss fight articulates in three steps. The first happens when the Caretaker use a sort of ground slam: you can spot it is happening by looking at the green/blue cracks opening on the ground. Wait for him to do this, then attack while he's recharging, then return to your position.
In a second moment, he will spawn a series of ghosts: you have to kill them before he has a chance to attack them because, otherwise, he will recharge his life bar. Don't worry anyway: those are not hard to beat, since they don't attack you at all.
Then, you will be able to spot which is the third phase because he will try and do a charge. Dodge towards him or to the side at the last second. Attack him while he's recovering his forces, get back to your original position and repeat until he's down.
