Yaschas Massif (110 AF)

This time period is unlocked in the Historia Crux by using a Wild Artefact on the northern Time Gate in Bresha Ruins 300 AF. There are many fragments to find here, so thorough exploration is to be advised.

Also, keep an eye out for red orbs floating around the map, as these will eventually give you side-quests that will earn you more fragments.

Gerhilde’s Blossom Fragment

Head to the Paddrean Archaeopolis area in the top right of the map. You will find a red orb with a speech bubble above it in front of the Time Gate. Touch the orb to begin the Gerhilde’s Blossom side quest.

Head south into the Pass of Padra area of Yaschas Massif until you reach a Chocobo. Take the path east, then south at the next junction. You will see a semi-invisible woman called Millie walking around the path.

Use Moogle Hunt to reveal Millie and talk to her to receive the Wedding Jewelry item. Take the jewelry back to the orb to complete the quest and earn the Gerhilde’s Blossom Fragment – worth 500 CP.

Waltraute’s Flower Fragment

You can only attempt this side quest once after you collect the Gerhilde’s Blossom Fragment in Yaschas Massif 110 AF. Find the red orb to the west of the Time Gate in Paddrean Archaeopolis. Touch it again to receive the Waltraute’s Flower side quest.

The orb will ask you to find a service manual. First head to Hope’s command centre at the top of the ramps and you will find an invisible floating treasure box. Use Moogle Hunt to reveal the box and open it to grab the Service Manual Key item.

Next, head back down the ramps and jump on the red Chocobo next to the Paddrean Archaeopolis Time Gate. Head south into the Pass of Padra area and head west towards the big field.

To the left you will see a raised platform with a man standing on it. He has a speech bubble above his head. Use the Chocobo’s jump and glide ability to leap up on to the ledge.

Speak with the man to trigger a dialogue option. Select “The Manual” to earn the Technician’s Note.” Item. Take the note back to the red orb to earn the Waltraute’s Flower Fragment – worth 500 CP.

Ortlinde’s Bloom Fragment

Head back to the Paddrean Archaeopolis and walk up the ramps towards Hope’s command centre. Keep going all the way up to the top and speak with the red orb at the summit. The orb will explain that it is looking for a terrorist’s mark somewhere in the Pass of Paddra area of Yaschas Massif 110 AF.

Head to the big field to the west of the map and look for an invisible floating treasure box in the middle of the large field. You will find the box floating next to the giant crack in the middle of area.

Use Moogle Hunt to reveal the box and interact with it to collect the Terrorist’s Mark item. Return it to the red orb to earn the Ortlinde’s Bloom Fragment – worth 500 CP.

Book of Avalon Fragment

After earning the Ortlinde’s Bloom fragment, a temporal rift distortion will appear on your map, In the bottom left corner of the map, within the Pass of Paddra area of Yaschas Massif.

Head over there and interact with the anomaly to start the puzzles within the rift.  Complete the puzzles to close the rift and you will earn the Book of Avalon Fragment – worth 500 CP.

Ugallu Fragment

To make this quest appear on the map, you must first earn the Ortlinde’s Bloom Fragment, Book of Avalon Fragment and complete the temporal rift puzzle in the Book of Avalon side quest (See above), as well as completing all other side quests in Yaschas Massif 110 AF.

As soon as you meet all of these requirements, a marker will appear on the map next to Chocolina in the north of the Pass of Paddra area. Head over to the marker and you will find another floating red orb with a speech bubble above it.

Interact with the orb to trigger the Ugallu quest, which will appear as a waypoint in the west of the Pass of Paddra area. Head over there to make the Ugallu beast appear.

You can either choose to battle Ugallu now, or tackle it after the main quest. You will definitely need to level up a bit before taking him on. But after some leveling up, you will defeat Ugallu, which earns you the Ugallu Fragment – worth 2,000 CP.

Control Device Password 1 Fragment

Oddly, the quest for this fragment only appears in this time period once you have started the Adamantite Ring side quest in Bresha Ruins 100 AF (unlocked a little later in the game), and after you have found the Thorne’s Information Key item in Yaschas Massif 100 AF.

You can find Thorne’s Information Key by running up the ramps in the Paddraean Archopolis area and speaking to Uma in Hope’s command centre. She will hand over the key after you speak with her.

Once you have met these requirements, head to the far right of the Pass of Paddra area, down a dead end corridor. Jump down the rock platforms and you will find the silhouette of a man walking around.

Use Moogle Hunt to reveal the man and speak with him. He will ask you a question. Answer “Thorne” and he will give you the will give you the Control Device Password 1 Fragment – worth 300 CP.

Yaschas Massif (100 AF)

The last variation of Yaschas Massif is set 97 years after the start of Serah and Noel’s quest. You must visit this time period to complete many fragment side quests in other variations of the area. But there are also a lot of fragments to be found here as well.

Helmwige’s Nightshade Fragment

Siegrune’s Spiritbloom Fragment

You can only attempt this quest after earning the Helmwige’s Nightshade Fragment. Open your map and locate the Chocobo icon in east of the Pass of Paddra area, just to the south of Chocolina. You will find a red orb floating here.

Open it to reveal the Bulb of Hope item. Take the bulb back to the red orb to claim the Siegrune’s Spiritbloom Fragment – worth 500 CP.

Schwertleite’s Flower Fragment

You can only attempt this quest after earning the Helmwige’s Nightshade Fragment. To activate this quest, head the south-most point of the map, and you will find another floating red orb just a little north of the Time Gate. Speak with it to start this quest.

Enter the anomaly and complete the puzzles inside to earn the Book of Shambala Fragment – worth 500 CP, and a wild artefact.

Sunleth Waterscape (400 AF)

Serah and Noel arrive at Sunleth Waterscrape to find a gathering of multi-coloured Flans. They have lost their children, who are scattered across the map. This triggers the Monster Finder quest, which can be completed quickly, giving you five fragments for relatively little work.

Monster Finder Quest

This is a large quest that is completed when you find the following fragments:

Lapis Lazuli Fragment

From the Time Gate in the extreme south of the map, head north slightly and you will find an invisible Flan roaming around just before you reach the vines. Use Moogle Hunt to expose it and you will earn the Lapis Lazuli Fragment – worth 800 CP.

Cosmo Aura Fragment

After getting the Lapis Lazuli Fragment, head south-east across the series of tree branches until you reach the Isle of Arboreal Embrace area. You will find another invisible Flan here. Expose it to earn the Cosmo Aura Fragment – worth 800 CP.

Heliodor Ore Fragment

Head back to the Bow Isle area where you started, then north, taking the left vine instead of the left. You will swing into the Hidden Woodland area. Keep going north until you see an invisible Flan. Expose it to earn the Helidor Ore Fragment – worth 800 CP.

Carnelian Fragment

From the Hidden Woodland area, head north until you read the clearing at the Forest Crossroads. From the crossroads, head west and up the branches to find another roaming Flan. Expose it to earn the Carelian Fragment – worth 800 CP.

Celestine Fragment

Head back to the crossroads, but this time go east, past Chocolina and jump on to the small platform at the end of the walkway. The final Flan can be found here. Expose it to earn the Celestine Fragment – worth 800 CP. Congratulations! The Monter Finder quest is now complete.

Miniflan Fragment

Now that you have found all of the hidden Flans, head back to the crossroads and then go north towards the waypoint in the Assembly Area – the same place you fought Mutantomato in Sunleth Waterscape 300 AF. The Flans will challenge you to a fight. Win this insanely simple fight to earn the Miniflan Fragment – worth 2,500 CP.

Graviton Core Eta

After you defeat the Flans, return to the Assembly Area again to find invisible fragment floating above a stone circle. Use Moogle Hunt to reveal the fragment, and pick it up to earn Graviton Core Eta – worth 500 CP.

You will need to collect five Graviton Cores to complete a quest much later – that takes place in Academia 4XX AF. Hope Estheim will ask you deliver five Graviton Cores hidden throughout time to his lab in this era. But you can grab them early to avoid doing it later.

Augusta Tower (200 AF)

Noel and Serah travel to a more complex and dangerous version of Augusta Tower, full of complex puzzles and enemies to fight. This is also a great place to level up, as well as holding many fragments and secrets.

Wild Artefact

After arriving at Augusta Tower, let the cutscene play out, then walk to the inner ring of the floor you start on. Head to the north of the inner walkway and use Moogle Hunt to expose an invisible wild artefact.

Idea Circuit Fragment

Before you attempt this fragment, you must first collect the 50th Floor Access Key from Augusta Tower 300 AF. If you don’t have it, head back there using the Historia Crux and go up to the 15th floor. The key can be found in a rotating room to the far west of floor 15

Now, return to Augusta Tower 200 AF. You will now be able to use the 50th Floor Access Key on the main elevator in the centre of the room, and use glowing control panels to rotate rooms dotted around each floor. This is important, as some fragment can only be obtained using these panels.

To obtain the Idea Circuit Fragment, use the panels to navigate your way to the southeast room – the one with Chocolina inside.

Look around the Chocolina room and you will see an invisible floating treasure box hanging in one of the corners. Use Moogle Throw to expose the box and earn the Paradox Agent Type A item.

Next, head to the rotating room in the northwest corner of the map and activate the computer terminal inside to trigger the Idea Circuit quest. The terminal will ask you for the Paradox Agent Type A item, which you already have. Hand it over to receive the Idea Circuit Fragment – worth 400 CP.

Enigma Codex Fragment / Difference Engine Fragment

Once you have completed all of the core missions on 50th floor, you will use the elevator to travel to the 49th floor. Use the panels and rotating rooms to reach the far west of this floor and look out across the gap to the edge in the distance. You will see a floating treasure box.

Use Moogle Throw to grab the box and collect Paradox Agent Type B. You can return the item to the computer terminal to the northwest of floor 50 to earn the Enigma Codex Fragment – worth 400 CP.

However, before you do that, head over to the far east of floor 49, and follow the outer walkway as north as it will go. Now look east, then look down.

At the bottom of the tower shaft you will see a floating treasure box miles below you. It looks tiny at such a distance, so keep your eyes open.  Hurl Mog at it to open the treasure box – this may take a few attempts to aim it correctly – to receive the Paradox Agent C item.

Then return to the 50th floor terminal in the northwest to earn the Difference Engine Fragment – worth 400 CP.  You will also earn Access Key 13 for Augusta Tower 300 AF, giving you access to this floor next time you visit that time period.

Academia (4XX AF)

Noel and Serah travel to an alternative Academia, in the year 4XX AF. Unlike the normal 400 AF version, this depiction of Academia is peaceful and free of monsters. There are many fragments here that require brainpower and patience.

Wild Artefact

Head to the Alley area in the bottom right corner of the map. To the right of this area you will see a smaller alleyway in this shape:

Head to the area as depicted by the red dot above, and you fill find a floating invisible artefact. Use Moogle Hunt to reveal the wild artefact and grab it.

To start the quest, head to the entrance of the Academy building in the far north of the map, and speak with a man walking round the central help desk called Dr. M.

Keep an eye on the in-game bestiary to see what monsters you have fought and which ones you have yet to encounter. Once you have fought them all, return to Dr. M to claim the Academic Ranks: Monster Professor Fragment – worth 1,000 CP.

One good tip for completing this quest is to acquire the Fragment Skill ‘Battlemaster’ – unlocked after you complete the Academic Rank: Paradox Professor side quest in Academia 400 AF, and unlock the Academia 500 AF time period – which increases the spawn rate of monsters.

You should also get the Fragment Skill ‘Encounter Master’, which is earned when collecting every single fragment across all variations of Yaschas Massif, and unlocking Academia 500 AF, which further increases the appearance of rare monsters.

Transcript: The Future Is Hope Fragment

First, complete the main plotline and earn the Paradox Scope item. Head to the Historia Crux and close the Academia 4XX AF time gate to reverse the events that took place there. Enter the time period.
