Pokemon Alpha Sapphire/Omega Ruby: How To Get Every Legendary Pokemon

Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are here at last, offering the exciting opportunity to round up all of the legendary Pokemon from the entire series between these games and X/Y. Most aren’t available until after you’ve beaten the Elite Four and become Pokemon League champion, so make that a priority and then get to seeking out all of these awesome monsters. Version exclusives are tagged in the relevant colours (you’ll need to trade for ones not present in your version), while many Legendaries must be traded or transfered across from older games as they are not native to the Hoenn region. #243 Raikou (L50) – With both Lugia and Ho-Oh on your team, use the Eon Flute to soar in the sky. In addition to the usual Mirage areas, a new area called Trackless Forest will appear – head here to encounter one of Gold and Silver’s legendary dogs at random. After capturing one, visit a Pokemon Centre to remove Lugia and Ho-Oh from your team, then add them again to get a shot at one of the remaining dogs.

#244 Entei (L50) – With both Lugia and Ho-Oh on your team, use the Eon Flute to soar in the sky. In addition to the usual Mirage areas, a new area called Trackless Forest will appear – head here to encounter one of Gold and Silver’s legendary dogs at random. After capturing one, visit a Pokemon Centre to remove Lugia and Ho-Oh from your team, then add them again to get a shot at one of the remaining dogs.

#245 Suicune (L50) – With both Lugia and Ho-Oh on your team, use the Eon Flute to soar in the sky. In addition to the usual Mirage areas, a new area called Trackless Forest will appear – head here to encounter one of Gold and Silver’s legendary dogs at random. After capturing one, visit a Pokemon Centre to remove Lugia and Ho-Oh from your team, then add them again to get a shot at one of the remaining dogs.

#249 Lugia (L50) – After encountering Primal Kyogre, head to Sea Mauville. The researcher on deck will ask you to find a scanner. Use Dive to explore the lower levels and find it, then deliver it to Stern in Slateport to receive the Tidal Bell. Take this back to Sea Mauville and return to the flooded lower levels, where it will resonate to create a portal. Save your game then use this to encounter Lugia.

#250 Ho-Oh (L50) – After encountering Primal Groudon, head to Sea Mauville. The researcher on deck will ask you to find a scanner. Use Dive to explore the lower levels and find it, then deliver it to Stern in Slateport to receive the Tidal Bell. Take this back to Sea Mauville and return to the upper decks, where it will resonate to create a portal. Save your game then use this to encounter Ho-Oh.

#377 Regirock (L40) – Before the Regi trio can be caught, they first need to be activated. You will need Pokemon that know Dig, Surf and Dive (and ideally Fly as well), and have both Relicanth and Wailord in your party. Head to Route 134 and follow the currents to reach a small area of deep water where you can use Dive – if you miss it, Fly back to the start of the route and try again. Once underwater, approach the first insciption and resurface, then use Dig in front of the second. At the third, put Relicant first in your party and Wailord sixth, then read it. This triggers earthquakes that open three new areas where the Regis can be found, each with another riddle of their own. For Regirock, you’ll need a Pokemon that can use Strength. Head to the desert area on Route 111 and enter the new cave. Read the inscription within then, using the D-pad, take two steps right, two steps down then use Strength. A new door will open, allowing you to finally face Regirock.

#378 Regice (L40) – Before the Regi trio can be caught, they first need to be activated. You will need Pokemon that know Dig, Surf and Dive (and ideally Fly as well), and have both Relicanth and Wailord in your party. Head to Route 134 and follow the currents to reach a small area of deep water where you can use Dive – if you miss it, Fly back to the start of the route and try again. #379 Registeel (L40) – Before the Regi trio can be caught, they first need to be activated. You will need Pokemon that know Dig, Surf and Dive (and ideally Fly as well), and have both Relicanth and Wailord in your party. Head to Route 134 and follow the currents to reach a small area of deep water where you can use Dive – if you miss it, Fly back to the start of the route and try again. Once underwater, approach the first insciption and resurface, then use Dig in front of the second. At the third, put Relicant first in your party and Wailord sixth, then read it. This triggers earthquakes that open three new areas where the Regis can be found, each with another riddle of their own. For Registeel, you’ll need a Pokemon that can use Fly. Its cave is on Route 120, not too far from Lilycove City. read the inscription within then use Fly in the middle of the room and you’ll be able to challenge Registeel.

#380 Latias (L30) – Encountered as part of the story, cannot be missed. The opposite Lati will eventually be made available through the Eon Ticket, which will be distributed via StreetPass.

#382 Kyogre (L45) – Alpha Sapphire’s cover star is found in the Cave Of Origin as part of the story. It comes holding the Red Orb, allowing it to revert to its powerful Primal form.

#383 Groudon (L45) – Omega Ruby’s cover star is found in the Cave Of Origin as part of the story. It comes holding the Red Orb, allowing it to revert to its powerful Primal form.

#384 Rayquaza (L70) – Encountered as part of the story during the Delta Episode, cannot be missed and MUST be caught in order to proceed with storyline. Learns Dragon Ascent upon capture, allowing it to Mega Evolve without needing to hold a Mega Stone.

#386 Deoxys (L80) – Encountered at the end of Delta Episode, cannot be missed.

#480 Uxie (L50) – Use the Eon Flute to soar in the sky – every day, you’ll get a different set of Mirage islands. If you are lucky (and at least one Pokemon in your party is at maximum happiness), a new area called the Nameless Cave will appear for you to land at. This will contain a portal that you can interact with to battle one of the three lake guardians – Uxie, Mesprit and Azelf. After catching one, return to the Nameless Cave at a later date for a shot at the remaining two.

#483 Dialga (L50) – With Uxie, Mesprit and Azelf all in your party, use the Eon Flute to once again soar in the sky. A rift will appear in the sky – approach it to challenge Dialga.

#484 Palkia (L50) – With Uxie, Mesprit and Azelf all in your party, use the Eon Flute to once again soar in the sky. A rift will appear in the sky – approach it to challenge Palkia.

#485 Heatran (L50) – Head to the Scorched Slab (use Surf on Route 120 to find this island cave) after capturing or defeating Primal Groudon/Kyogre. Head down through the newly added lower levels (bring Repels, unless you really like fighting Zubat and Golbat) to find Heatran in a portal at the bottom.

#486 Regigigas (L50) – Head to Pacifidlog Town and visit the top-right house to hear stories about Regigigas. Then, you’ll need to take all three Regis to the cave on Route 105 where you first caught Regice. Your Regice needs to have a nickname, and it must also be holding a cold item such as a NeverMeltIce or a Snowball. This should cause Regigigas to challenge you.

#487 Giratina (L50) – With both Dialga and Palkia on your team, use the Eon Flute to soar in the sky. The space-time rift in the sky will have returned and this time, interacting with it will let you battle Giratina.

#488 Cresselia (L50) – Use the Eon Flute to soar in the sky – every day, you’ll get a different set of Mirage islands. If you are lucky, a new area called Crescent Isle will appear for you to land at. It’s here that you’ll face Cresselia. Check back every day for the best chance of finding this spot.

After catching one, return to the Pathless Plain at a later date for a shot at the remaining two.

#639 Terrakion (L50) – Use the Eon Flute to soar in the sky – every day, you’ll get a different set of Mirage islands. If you are lucky, a new area called the Pathless Plain will appear for you to land at. This will contain a portal that you can interact with to battle Black and White’s Legendary trio – Cobalion, Terrakion and Virizion. After catching one, return to the Pathless Plain at a later date for a shot at the remaining two.

#640 Virizion (L50) – Use the Eon Flute to soar in the sky – every day, you’ll get a different set of Mirage islands. If you are lucky, a new area called the Pathless Plain will appear for you to land at. This will contain a portal that you can interact with to battle Black and White’s Legendary trio – Cobalion, Terrakion and Virizion. After catching one, return to the Pathless Plain at a later date for a shot at the remaining two.

#641 Tornadus (L50) –Add Castform (obtained after defending the Weather Institute) to your team and use the Eon Flute to soar in the sky. Up in the clouds, you’ll encounter a dark thunderstorm – interact with it to battle Tornadus.

#643 Reshiram (L50) – Once your Pokemon have been raised to obscenely high levels, using the Eon Flute will have a chance to reveal the Fabled Cave. Land here and you’ll be able to try and catch Reshiram – just keep leveling up your team and it’ll appear for you one lucky day.

#644 Zekrom (L50) – Once your Pokemon have been raised to obscenely high levels, using the Eon Flute will have a chance to reveal the Fabled Cave. Land here and you’ll be able to try and catch Zekrom – just keep leveling up your team and it’ll appear for you one lucky day.

#645 Landorus (L50) – With both Tornadus and Thundurus on your team, use the Eon Flute to soar. A new dark cloud should have emerged, this time allowing you to fight Landorus.

#646 Kyurem (L50) – With both Reshiram and Zekrom on your team, use the Eon Flute to soar. A new area called the Gnarled Den will be available to land at, where Kyurem resides. Before or after battling it, use the Dowsing Machine in the cave to find the DNA Splicers that allow it you change into its Black and White versions.
