The Restaurant
If you haven’t played the original The Darkness upon new game start up, you can watch a “previously on” video to get caught up with the story. You’ll watch the key scenes leading up to this sequel.
You begin the game proper as Jackie Estacado enters a restaurant with his crew greeting him. You’ll follow one of the crew members as you take a gander at the hustle and bustle of the establishment.
Things eventually take a turn for the worse as you make yourself cozy. One of the women gets shot in the back of the head then a van crashes right where you’re sitting. You’ll be dazed and you’ll start to be dragged here by your friend, which starts an on-rail sequence.
You’ll notice your leg is completely demolished, but you’ll be handed a gun, where you can exact some revenge on the bad guys who tried to attack you. Shoot these guys, and just for the hell of it, try to shoot them all in the head for what they did to you.
Keep killing as many enemies as you can. Eventually, another van crashes through the restaurant and you’ll be holding fort at the bar since your friend needs a breather. When you grab the gun, kill the four enemies that appear. The camera will be a bit off kilter here.
Your friend says you can escape through the kitchen, but you’ll need to take his piece too. You’ll now be dual-wielding pistols. Shoot as many enemies as you can, while being dragged again. You’ll soon pass the wildly swinging kitchen doors.
When you make it inside, a hail of gunfire will litter the room and there’s also one slight problem. The gas is leaking and some jerk decides to throw a molotov as you watch your friend struggle to open the exit doors. Cue explosion.

Unleash The Darkness
After the whiteout, The Darkness is yearning to be set free once again. Jackie has no choice. Crawl to the man outside. He’ll walk away and be replaced by one of his goons in an orange jumpsuit. Press “W” to crawl forward, then unleash The Darkness with “E”. And unleashed it will be.
Watch the gory massacre, then talk to the hurt Vinnie (I think I missed his name earlier) by the dumpster by pressing “1”. After the conversation, walk down the alley way to the fence and you’ll be shown how to pick things up with The Darkness.
Press “Q” to pick up the rod, then press it again to throw it like a spear toward the enemy up in the scaffolding. Do it again for the second enemy that shows up. When they have been “impaled”, use the “middle mouse button” to unleash an attack that destroys the fence.
Keep moving forward and you’ll be taught how to attack using the vertical and horizontal slashes. Two enemies will be served up as fodder. Use a vertical attack on the fence ahead of you, by holding down the “middle mouse button”, then moving the mouse up or down. For the horizontal attack, hold down the “middle mouse button” as well, but move the mouse left or right. After killing the two smack talkers, keep moving forward.
Jump over the low part of the fence with “space”. You’ll see Jenny ahead, bathed in light, but she disappears. Head over to the fuse box and attach to it with “Q”. Now rapidly press “E” to open it. See how the wires are facing horizontally? Use a vertical slash to cut them. The door will now open.
As you enter the building, an enemy will have his back turned to you. He’s vulnerable to being grabbed because you can see his heart outlined with a glow. Press “Q” to grab him, then press “1” to execute him. Watch the bloody fireworks.
Enter the room with the black and white checkered floor and grab the box (which is highlighted in an eerie purple) and throw it at the enemy to stun them. You’ll see his glowing heart letting you know he’s vulnerable. Grab him with “Q”, then press “1” to execute him as well.
You can also grab weapons at a distance. Press “Q” to grab the gun, then head for the door out in the street. Kill the enemy by the door before you head out and walk out onto the street. You can grab car doors and use them as shields and when you’re done with them, you can throw it at enemies to decapitate them. Kill all the enemies as you move forward. You’ll see decorations above the street. Head there.
As you keep moving, an explosion will occur and Jackie will be knocked into a building with an enemy about to shoot him (bollocks), but there’s a friend waiting in the wings. Wait for the darkling to attack and when he’s done eating, walk up to him and grab the uzi.
You can switch between combinations of weapons here using the mouse wheel. Now head to the door and latch onto it with “Q”, then rapidly press “E” to break it. Head through into the alley and grab the relic surrounded by candles.
Keep moving forward. You can run with “left shift”. You’ll get a notice that bright lights are bad for you now. Shoot the lights to keep things dark.
Now head to the darkling to access the talent shrine. Press “E” to activate it, then purchase the “Eat Hearts” power located in the middle. You can cycle through each quadrant’s skills to choose the others you want. I’d recommend the health execution one as your first just in case you’re on your last legs. Exit the menu when you’re done.
You’ll need to eat hearts to regain health so eat the heart of the dead enemy by the dumpster. Do so by pressing “E”, then move on to the gate. Watch the darkling open it and get ready for a fight. Kill them all and eat their hearts along the way.
The alley turns left and pours out into the street. Grab a shield and kill more enemies as you head toward the sound of gunfire. You’ll see some of your friends in a standoff with the enemy. Help them out, then head down toward the subway, but before you go down, shoot the lights out on the lamp posts.
Return to the Main Walkthrough Page
The Subway
Before proceeding, shoot the light out on the ceiling then grab the gate and destroy it. You’ll see your darking buddy enter a vent. Turn right down the hallway and shoot all the lights out on the ceiling. As you move down said hallway, civilians will immediately be fleeing. Wait for the enemies to pop up and kill them. Did I mention, don’t forget to shoot the lights out?
Move into the lobby and walk through the subway gates. Down the corridor, another civilian will flee. Shoot the enemy that appears. As you round the corner, you’ll see the darkling attack another enemy and hopefully urinate on him when he’s done.
Walk down the stairs and head onto the train platform. Kill the enemies taking cover behind the pillars. But before you head forward, Turn around and head to the back and you’ll see a relic beneath the stairs. Grab “YHWH’s Lament” as it sits in a circle of candles.
Keep moving forward on the train platform as you continuously take out the orange jumpsuit apparatus crew. The darkling from time to time will stop and gesture you forward. There will be a talent shrine in the middle you can use. Gourmet Hearts (grab more health) and Relic Hunter (icon for relics appear when you get close) are good choices, since they only cost 50 essence each. When you’re done, let’s get back to the action.
Move ahead, and you’ll see more enemies on the other side of the train platform to your right. Kill the ones on the tracks, then when it’s safe, jump the tracks onto the other platform. Remember, keep breaking the lights when you can.
Head down to the tracks by the tiled wall where it says “Canal”. You should see your darkling buddy down there waiting for you. Head down the rubble and kill an enemy. When you get down far enough, a speeding train decides to come hurtling toward you from behind. Jackie will manage to avoid it by the skin of his teeth.
Move toward the wreck through one of the train cars then exit to see the aftermath of the crash. After just a few paces, a dazed enemy will exit one of the train cars. Kill him, move up, then kill more of his buddies. Use the cover provided for you. There are also some rods on the left hand side you can use for a personal javelin throwing competition.
Follow the darkling as you climb over the rubble and you’ll see Jenny once again urging you to follow her. Unfortunately there’s an oncoming train. But right before the train hits you, the screen will go white and you’ll be transported to a foreign place full of green doors, a circular hallway and a man in pajamas up ahead. His name is Johnny. Talk to him by pressing “1”. When he’s done talking, go up to Tony and talk to him too.
When he’s done talking about vegetables, the screen will white out again and The Darkness will be doing some fishing down a guy’s throat.
Walk forward and you’ll see Tony. You can’t miss him. Talk to him about what happened. It’s time to get in that limo

Coming Home
You’ll be with Vinnie as you head up the elevator. You can explore a bit downstairs before you head up to your bedroom upstairs. You’ll be able to talk to Enzo, found outside guarding the balcony, Tony, Vinnie and Dolfo, who is also outside shooting at birds. You can “talk to Dolfo” and you can also “enjoy some fine beverages” with him. Doing this will initiate a mini-game where you shoot bottles off the railing. You’ll be timed for best score.
When you’re done exploring downstairs, head upstairs. Remember, you can press “backspace” to locate your objective. Head up the stairs, turn left, and turn left again, along side the circular red rug. Enter the first room on your right and you’ll find a book, which is a relic on the stand. Now you can head to your room.
On the way you can talk to Butcher Joyce and Leo on the balcony to your right. When you enter your room, you’ll see the shrine that Jackie has built for Jenny. Walk up to it and light a candle in her memory by pressing “E”.
Aunt Sarah will appear. Walk up to her and press “1” to talk. You’ll have a choice of talking to her about Jenny as she questions if you have the balls to do it. Show her your balls by pressing “1” to discuss it. When the conversation is finished, leave your room and head toward the top of the stairs.
Vinnie will be there. Talk to him about a job you have for him. When you’re done, head down stairs and take the first door on your right to talk to Jimmy the Grape in his office. He’s the one covered in purple all over. When that conversation is over, head to the elevator and talk to Vinnie when you’re ready to go. Time to visit Swifty.

The Pool Hall
Guess what? Another alleyway. Walk down and speak to Jimmy the Grape, then follow him as he talks a bit more about the situation.
Right before you open the double doors to the pool hall with the darkling waiting in the wings, access the talent shrine to grab some new abilities. When you’re done there’s a pool stick next to the dumpster. Now destroy the door and cause some mayhem. You won’t have a gun initially, but you’ll have plenty of pool sticks. Use them all, shoot the lights, and kill the enemies on the first floor. There’s an arcade to your right where a relic is located, “The Sister of Light”. Now up the stairs we go.
Break open the door and you’ll see Swifty as he runs away. Kill his friends. When they’ve been wishboned, grab the ammo on the desk underneath the neon light that says “Grinder” next to the bar, then head to the exit. You’ll drop into a car salvage yard.
A handful of enemies will be waiting for you, so grab a shield as you pick them off one at a time. Most of them will be hiding and shooting behind one of the wrecked cars.
Move ahead and access the talent shrine if you need to. Don’t forget to look left to grab “The Dark Man” relic. Follow the darkling as you walk over the downed chain link fence. Three enemies will be up ahead. Take them out with style.
Jump down through the maze of cars and demolish anyone you see. On the second corner as you turn right, there’s an explosive you can grab. Throw it at the guy on the scaffolding. Keep moving forward to the fence, then break the gate. Walk up the ramp. The screen will black out.
Walk down and use the talent shrine and ammo box before you move forward. When you do proceed, you’ll slip a bit. You’ll see Swifty as he begins to operate the wrecking ball.
You can’t shoot Swifty, but your darkling will figure out a way. When he finds an explosive, press “space” to focus on it. Grab it and throw it where Swifty is piloting the wrecking ball. After the first hit, enemies will pour out. Take them out from a distance and save up their hearts just in case you get low on life.
There are also ammo boxes on the corners you can use to replenish your ammo.
When Swifty’s life gets low he’ll also shine a light on you as the ball swings by. I stayed behind the bricks on the right hand side and popped out only when the darkling appeared with an explosive canister. When the life bar gets to zero, Swifty escapes, but the wrecking ball is out of commission. Walk up the crane’s arm. Head into the portable to acquire another relic, “The Trinity”.
Head to the gate, break it open and walk to the door that’s slightly ajar. The screen will white out again and you’ll see Jenny. When she’s done dancing to “Black Betty”, walk up to her and press “1”. After a bit of talking, you’ll dance together. Press “1” to kiss her, but she’ll back up and tease you about going into the back room. Follow her.
As you open the door she entered, Jenny is gone. Continue through to the back, and break the door to exit, as you keep pursuing Swifty. Follow the alley and you’ll see two enemies, not looking to pick a fight. Kill them if you wish. Head around the truck and you’ll see a ladder to the right of a garage door. Climb it. You’ll see Swifty running for his life as you press “space” to focus on him through a window.
A generator stands in your way. Break it using The Darkness, then break open the gate. Walk up the stairs, then up the ramp. Shoot the generator to make it dark. Kill the two enemies that appear, then break the gate ahead. Walk up the stairs and break the light as you make your way to the top.
Use the talent shrine if you need to, then head down the opening. Eliminate everyone in the room. There are plenty of explosive canisters here to make short work of them. Head to the exit. Break the fuse box to open the door, then eliminate everyone here too. You can grab the engines that are hanging up top to throw, for your own demonic pleasure.
Enter the room inside the conveyor belt loop to grab another relic, “The Graven Image”. If you would like to use the talent shrine, head to the small room with the windows. Now look for the panel with the red light. Press “E” to open the garage door.
Head through it and kill the enemies on the ground floor. Head up the stairs next to the forklift and eliminate more enemies on the second floor. Enter the room where the exit sign is, then open the door using the panel with the red light.
Break the fuse to exit. It’s time to corner Swifty in the loading bays. Head into the loading bay and take out his little army. There are rods and explosives you can use. When the initial enemies are gone, head left up the small flight of stairs and destroy the generator.
Break open the door ahead, grab the relic, “Chime of Deliverance”, then exit through the door. You’ll see Swifty inside a locked room, behind glass, past some pillars. Take out his friends. On the left is a generator. You’ll notice it’s there since the light is so blindingly bright. You’re going to have to run through the light to destroy it. Follow the cable into the room and smash it. When all his friends are dead, break the fuse box to open the door. It’s time to have a chat with Swifty.

Coming Home Again
After you exit the elevator, follow Vinnie to have a chat with Mr. Powell. But if you want to talk to your crew about what happened to Swifty, you can. When you’re done exploring, look for Vinnie in the library.
Chief opens the door and inside is the display room for you relics, as well as Johnny Powell, tied up to a chair. Press “1” to talk to him. After the conversation with Johnny, Chief will be at the door. Talk to him to let him untie Johnny.
Now head to the office where Jimmy the Grape is waiting. It’s the door by the bottom of the stairs. You’ll see Aunt Sarah there. Speak with her and she promises to make you a meatloaf.
Enter the office and speak to Jimmy the Grape. Press “1” to sit down in your chair, since there’s quite of bit of news to tell you.
After you hear the news, head to the elevator to talk to Vinnie once again. Ask him “What would you know?”, then when you’re ready to leave, answer, “I would like that very much”. But before you head off, Johnny asks about the envelope you gave to him. He freaks out a bit before he lets you know he needs to do more research. It’s off to the Brimstone.
Return to the Main Walkthrough Page
The Brimstone
After leaving the car, you’ll be in front of the “Lucky Mannequin”. Head inside the open garage door. As you enter, you’ll be met with some creepy mannequins. Make a right inside the room, then enter the door being held open by a stool. It leads into a hallway.
There will be two guys down the hall. Walk up to them as they are talking. One of them needs to frisk you. Get closer to the guy wearing the blue jacket and the frisking will ensue. Now move ahead toward the double doors, and past the security televisions and camera. You’ll get buzzed in.
Keep moving forward past the hallway with the red curtains into a room full of more red curtains. For ambiance right? Explore the room a bit to find Venus. She’s the red head wearing the green top. Or lack thereof. Talk to her. After the chat, follow her to her room.
She’ll lead you into an elevator. She’ll start talking to you in a serious manner now. When the elevator stops, keep following Venus amidst all the activity. The screen will go black right before you enter her room.
Venus reaches under the bed to give you something. A gun. Now it’s time to head upstairs.
From the door, make a left and kill all the bad guys in sight. Keep moving forward and make another left. You should see a string of lights above. Follow that. Make a right around the corner, then a left into the next corridor past the ladder propped against the wall.
Go straight. You’ll see a drawing of some stairs telling you to go left. Keep going straight, then make a right. You’ll enter a room bathed in red light. Enter the only open door. If you can’t see it, look for your darkling. He knows the way.
As you enter the hallway, a fuse box is up ahead, but it’s covered in light. Talk to the darkling and tell him to get up inside the vent he’s pointing to. You’ll then become the darkling for a bit as he enters the vent. Follow the vent and check out the enemy on the bottom, by holding space. Keep following the vent and focus on another event.
As you keep looking down, watching the events unfold, you’ll notice a cross being dragged into a room. Just keep straight and follow the vent. You’ll finally reach your destination. Head down and when you drop, look for the door. There’s an enemy up ahead with his back turned.
Walk up to him and press “Q” to execute him. When his throat is slit by the finger of death, head toward the double doors. Watch out for the light. Avoid it by hugging the wall on your left, but also watch out for the enemy that patrols here. When his back is turned, head to the pipe that is glowing green. Simply walk up to climb it.
You’ll be up inside the ceiling. Follow the pipes on the right hand side of the walls to progress. When the pipes end, follow the red wire to enter another vent. Drop down when you reach the end, execute the enemy, then break the fuse box on the wall using the “middle mouse button” to swipe.
The darkling’s job is done as the camera pans backwards incredibly fast, back to Jackie’s point of view. Break the fuse box, then enter the door. When you enter, grab the shield, then enter the room with the windows and the red curtains. There’s a talent shrine inside. There’s also a board in the room which you can focus on, indicating the guys you’re dealing with know a lot more about you.
When you exit the room, the double doors will open to your right. Take out both of the enemies that appear, then enter where they came from. Grab the relic “The Key of Mictlan”. Take out the guys down the hallway. There’s a generator here so follow the yellow cord and blow it up.
Now head to the door that says exit and break the fuse box. Head up the stairs, where you’ll be greeted by more henchmen in a section of the building that’s still under construction. Grab the shield. There are also some rods you can use. Don’t forget to take out the generator on your right.
Keep moving forward and there will be more enemies that rush in. There are also generators on the left and right hand side. There will be an enemy that rushes forward with a crazy looking arm, so kill him first. When all the enemies are dead, move forward to reach the end of the room. Hang a left to make a U-turn.
There’s a generator up ahead that you’ll need to run through, but when you do, you’ll be helpless in the next room as the screen turns white.
You’ll awake with the sounds of a nail getting hammered, only it’s your hand they are hammering. It’s here where you’ll meet the antagonist sucking The Darkness into a mystical looking box. You’ll also see poor Venus in the background and a live transmission showing your home being overrun.
You’ll also have to make a choice on the video for who to sacrifice. Eddie or Frank. I did not choose and let it go. Eddie dies on my end by not pressing anything.
After some violent persuasion, you’ll black out and see a dark eerie light trying to break free through the cracks of the brick wall in front of you. Grab it and destroy it. Head into the twisted corridor as you witness The Darkness and Jackie having an internal struggle.
You’ll reach another wall. Destroy it and you’ll see Jenny as The Darkness says he has her soul. You’re then back on the cross coughing up blood. As you start getting beat up, rapidly press “E” to resist. The Darkness will implore you to. Jackie will then try to pull out his left hand, which is still firmly in place by the nail.
Soon, you’ll break free and the enemy beating you up will be nailed to the cross via his head. A slow motion event will ensue as another enemy is about to break your face in. Shoot him, then break the light.
Return to the Main Walkthrough Page
Escaping the Brothel
Once you’re in control again, look left to grab the relic, “Thumb Screws”. There’s a talent shine you can use here as well. Now break the red door and follow the corridor out. You’ll see an enemy set on fire. Follow the path that he was going to go before he expired.
Enter the door on the left and head through, then follow the string of lights on the walls. You’ll see another enemy burned alive. Make a right as the fire in front of him grows. The string of lights will be on your right. You’ll see the elevator shaft up ahead.
Get on top of it and climb the ladder on the left hand side. When you reach the top, follow the wooden planks. You’ll get attacked here. Use your demon arms to make short work of them.
Head to the open door on the left. As you enter, fire will burst on the left side. Make a right toward the red door. Destroy it. You’ll be up against two enemies. Kill them, then head toward the end of the room and up the stairs.
Head for the exit. If you go on the right side, the floor will collapse. Take the left hand side to go around and through the exit. You’ll find the last exit that leads outside. Break it.
You’ll see your crew on the bottom, now to find a way to get down. Make a right and drop down on the rooftop. Head through the gates and up the stairs on the left side. You’ll pass a brick wall on your right side full of colorful graffiti.
As you start to descend, you’ll see a group of enemies run across the rooftop. Go through the gates, hang a left and kill the two enemies that drop down. Grab the fan for some slicing action. Keep moving forward up the stairs ahead, then make a left down a narrow rooftop path.
Turn right and you’ll see the exhaust chimneys. Grab the fans and kill the enemies across the way, from a distance. Kill the ones who get up close with the demon arms. When they’re dead, move forward and head slight right. There’s a path with a pair of wooden planks used as a ramp. Climb the ramp, then drop down.
You’ll be hit with light after a few paces, so run through and drop down on the other side. Move ahead and you’ll be met with enemies who have guns. Kill the guy on the scaffolding on the right, then kill the rest. Follow the darkling, he’ll be waiting for you on top of the stairs.
Follow the path and you’ll be hit with light once again. Run past it, drop down, then kill all the enemies on this rooftop. Fans and rods aplenty here. Move up. You’ll see some stairs ahead that runs over a pipe. Make a right where more enemies will appear. Decapitate them, then head into the window, which used to be a wooden board, that your darkling destroyed.
Your friends will appear urging you come back home. Hop in the car to quickly get back to the mansion.

The Race Back Home
You’ll start off at the entrance of the parking garage. Make your way down and some enemies that love throwing flashbangs will start to appear. Take them out. If you notice, the parking garage is a bit bright and the lights cannot be broken.
Head down to where the cars are blocking your way and break the red door on your right. Head through the hallway, make a left through the door, break the fuse to kill the lights, and finally break the gate ahead. There’s also a talent shrine to your right in the corner.
When you’re done, head out to explore this now darkened garage. Kill the enemies that come after you. There’s a white van up ahead with it’s headlights on. Shoot them to keep it dark. Head toward the white van and hang a right.
As you move ahead, a car will come careening forward. Shoot it for the hell of it, then as it gets closer, it will flip over you as Jackie gives the passengers the finger. +50 essence. Oh yeah!
Maneuver yourself ahead by turning right into the rest of the parking garage. There will be a bunch of guys here. Two of them will be carrying really bright flashlights. Take these guys out first. There are plenty of car doors, so it’s time to make these guys a bit shorter. When they’re dead, head into the double doors that will lead to the mansion.
As you enter, you’ll see Dolfo gunned down to the right, but before we head to him, make a left, break the door, and grab the relic, “Winged Demon”. Now walk up to Dolfo and he’ll start to talk. When he’s done talking, the elevator doors will open with Vinnie inside. He mentions that Aunt Sarah is hiding out in the panic room. Enter the elevator with Vinnie, while Dolfo says he’ll hold the fort.
When you make it up the elevator, you’ll step out in an armory of sorts. Grab your favorite weapons and walk down the corridor where Johnny is located. Talk to him and he’ll tell you about the seal on the envelope you found on Swifty. After the revealing conversation, head up the stairs and take back the mansion.
You’ll emerge from the courtyard where the statue is, still with an abundance of leaves. You’ll also see Tony and Vinnie. Head up the stairs, take out the flashlight guy first, then the rest. Move forward as you hang a right up the stairs.
As you make it up, you’ll fight a new enemy. One with a shield. Kill the armor that covers the shield (by blasting the crap out of it using your guns) and you’ll be able to grab it. Kill both of the enemies here, move forward, and up another set of steps. One of the heavy guys and flashlight enemies will be here as you ascend. Take them out accordingly.
Move up ahead, following the balcony on the left hand side. The door up ahead will be plowed through by a heavy, with a shield guy not far behind. Take them out and head into the bar room. Two enemies will be firing at you from the double doors. Kill them as well, but watch out for their flash grenades.
Head through the double doors. When you enter the room with the fireplace, eliminate the enemies and take out the generator. Head through the doors into the kitchen and take out the lone guard. Head into the dining room, to the right of the kitchen, to grab the relic, “The Blinding Sun”.
Run through the kitchen and it will lead to a double door with glass panels. It’s your office. Jimmy the Grape will open the door for you. Head out of the office, kill the enemies that rope in, as well as the ones on the balcony.
Head up the stairs. Before you head left, turn right and take out a pair of enemies that could shoot you in the back. When they’re down, head to your room, where an enemy will be waiting for you as you open the door. You’ll be knocked back just in time to see Aunt Sarah’s final seconds. Bastards.

Return to the Mental Institution
You’ll be shot in the head, point blank, with a shotgun. The screen will go white and you’ll wake up and see Vince talking to you at your door. Talk to him as you check out the scrawls etched on the walls of the room. If you look behind you, you can check out some comic covers of The Darkness by the bed. And if you check the mirror, you’re bald!
Vince will let you out and asks you to go to the dispensary. Follow the hallway down as you see Mr. Walker get taken away. Head for the exit, make a right, then left past the janitor’s door, down the stairs.
Enter the double doors. You’ll pass the nurses station on the left. You’ll immediately see Johnny. Chat him up. You can also talk to Dolfo, in the wheelchair, Sheldon, who thinks he can fly, Tony, who is talking about lima beans, and the nurse, who is parked next to the pair of sinks.
When you’re done hearing what they have to say, talk to Frank (or possibly Eddie) by the dispensary. He’ll tell you the doctor needs to you. Now head to the exit and turn into the doctor’s office on the left. You’ll notice it’s Jimmy the Grape. When he’s done talking, press “E” to sit down. You’ll have a chat about The Darkness. When you’re done, head out and go back the way you came.
Go past the dispensary on the left and into the hallway. You’ll see a sign that says “Nurse’s Station” on the right. Enter the door to see Nurse Jenny. Press “E” to sit down after she sits. Listen to the conversation.
Jackie will eventually start to lose it, but right before he gets injected, Johnny helps him out. Now run for it. Run past the dispensary on your left, toward the exit. Watch out for the orderly as he tries to grab you. Keep moving through to the next set of double doors. Make a left down the stairs and run for the sweet freedom as you pass by the doors that lead outside.

Going to a Funeral
You awake in your trophy room full of the relics you collected with Johnny hovering over you, talking about how it’s been four days. And all that time The Darkness has been healing you. He also mentions the funeral for Aunt Sarah is today.
When the conversation ends, look for the talent shrine right below the suit armor. Use it if you wish to attain some upgrades. When you’re done, exit the room and you’ll see Chief and Vinnie outside. Vinnie will start talking to you.
Head through the glass paned double doors and hang a right where you’ll see Frank (or possibly Eddie) at the bar. Talk to him about what happened. After talking with Frank (or Eddie), turn around and head through the doors past the pool table, which is now covered with a blanket.
As you enter the hallway, make a right to make your rounds. Talk to Dolfo near the fireplace, Fat Tony in the Kitchen, Mr. Higgins in the dining room, Butcher Joyce in the bathroom cleaning up the bloody, clogged toilet, and finally Jimmy the Grape, by the bottom of the stairs. Jimmy will talk about Aunt Sarah and then direct you to proceed to the funeral. You can go upstairs if you like, up to Jackie’s room, but when you’re finished, talk to Vinnie by the elevator. Tell him you’re ready to go, then enter the elevator.
After heading out, you’ll start walking through the corridors of the mental institution once more. As you move forward, forcibly, you’ll see Johnny and he’ll tell you that none of this is real. As that happens, the screen flashes white and you’ll be in the cemetery in the pouring rain.
Vinnie will be ahead of you. Walk up to him. You’ll shake hands, then you’ll automatically follow him as he starts talking about how Aunt Sarah was well taken care of by the staff.
As you make it to the gate, you’ll be given control of Jackie. Follow Vinnie as he walks up near Jimmy the Grape. You’ll see the monument placed for Aunt Sarah. Now talk to Jimmy the Grape who is standing right next to the coffin.
Shockingly, as Jimmy talks, the a-hole by the name of Bragg — the one who shot you in the face — crashes the party and hits the coffin your Aunt Sarah is in, spilling her body on the rain soaked cement. It’s time for some payback.
Before you engage him however, head right and you’ll see a relic, “Cain”. You’ll see Bragg where the statue of the angel is. He’ll be throwing dark orbs of energy at you. Grab one in mid-air, then throw it back at him. He’ll immediately run away and some of his buddies will appear. There’s a heavy and a flashlight guy, who comes a bit later. When they’re done for, follow Bragg up the right hand stairs, past the angel statue. Break the gate and get ready to fight.
Kill the shield guy as you get to the top, then follow the cobbled path, past all the mausoleums on your right. Shoot out the lights as you move forward. Keep following the path. Another shield guy will appear along with about 2 or 3 others. When they’re gone, Bragg will appear again and skip across the top of the mausoleums. Keep track of where he is, then grab the dark orbs he throws, then toss it at him. He’ll run away again.
Follow the path and it will lead to a bridge. Follow the cobbled path once again and as you move ahead, you’ll see Bragg running away. You’ll reach an underpass, where a talent shrine is. Use it if you need to, then keep moving forward. You’ll reach some stairs and at the top are two enemies. Take them out. Don’t forget to shoot the lamp post.
Keep following the stones path. As you turn right, you’ll be met with a normal, shield, and flashlight enemy. The flashlight guy tends to stand behind the shield guy, so try to shoot the light first. There will be an ammo stash right behind the statue as you round the corner.
Keep moving forward and face another group of enemies. Notice the generator on the right hand side drenching the gate in light? To disable it, you’ll need to go around first, so keep following the path. As you turn the corner on the right hand side, a shield guy, a heavy and a guy with a flashlight will pop up. Take them out accordingly, then move up and destroy the generator. Time to head back to the gate.
Head through the gate and you’ll reach a path with fences on both sides. Kill the enemies ahead. One of them will have a whip, that can remove your weapon from you. So be careful. These guys coupled with the flashlight guys are annoying. If the flashlight is shining on you and you don’t have a weapon, take cover and try to find something to throw against the flashlight guys. It’s the only way.
Move ahead and you’ll see a big mausoleum in front of you. Go behind it on the left, to find the relic, “Engraved Skull”. You’ll see a group of two enemies running away, kill them, then keep following the path laid out for you. The path will turn left and around where you’ll reach some gates.
More enemies will appear. Watch out for the guy with the whip as you try to take out the guy with the light first. When they’re left in a bloody pile, Bragg appears again. Do the same thing, grab the dark orb, then throw it at him. And again he’ll run away. In doing so he’ll bust open the gate you need to go through.
As you enter, you’ll notice the eerie quiet. This part of the level is the staging area as you get ready to take on Bragg. Use the talent shrine if you need to, then head forward through the next set of gates. The area is wide open here and it’s where you’ll make your last stand with Bragg.
This boss fight is a firefight. Bragg will zoom around the area, so just follow his trail so you know where he’ll go. On your immediate right are some ammo boxes you’ll need.
Bragg will zoom around for a bit and stop periodically. Shoot him when he’s relatively still. When you see him start to rise up, you can strafe to avoid him because he will charge right at you. Or, if you have something you can throw you can toss it and him and he’ll get stunned.
When his health starts to get low, he’ll set his goons after you. A van will appear and as it heads toward you, shoot out the headlights. Watch out for the whip guy. When they’re down, leave their hearts for later, unless you immediately need one.
You’ll fight Bragg once again. Keep shooting, dodging, and stunning him. He’ll also start to toss out three dark orbs at a time, which you can use as well. When Bragg is finally taken down, walk up to him to start the interrogation. Press “E” to do so. You’ll be playing the good cop and your darkling buddy will be playing the bad cop. Hilarious. Also, Kano fatality.

After the Funeral
You’re back home in your bathroom, looking at your reflection when Vinnie asks you what’s wrong. Walk up to Vinnie and talk to him. He’ll talk about ending it once and for all, on your word.
When you’re done, go downstairs and have a chat with Johnny in the library. If you go to Aunt Sarah’s room, there’s a memorial laid out for her.
Downstairs you can talk to your crew about what happened at the funeral. When you’re done, head to the library. When you get there, Johnny will already be talking to himself. Talk to him and mention of a Hellgate Fields comes up into the conversation as well as Hawaii and Fiji.
Jackie will thank Johnny for all he’s done. After the chat, talk to Johnny again and ask him about the Angelus. Listen to what he has to say. You can also ask him to “tell you more” afterwards. You find out that the Angelus is the opposite of The Darkness.
Go back into the atrium and talk with Vinnie and Jimmy. Jackie will start talking about ending this whole thing and he needs to go alone. After the conversation, head into the elevator.

Hellgate Field
Lovely name for an amusement park eh? You’ll start off on the pathway near the water with the creepy billboard of Hellgate Field overhead.
Follow the winding path and right before you reach the wooden fence, you’ll hear Jenny telling you where she is. Follow her down to the beach where she says she’ll show you something. She’ll appear right underneath the lamp post as she scurries underneath the boardwalk.
Follow her underneath by crouching. Follow the path as you see Jenny covered in a cloudy haze. Some wooden planks will bar the way. Destroy it and keep moving forward. Climb up the ramp that leads into the bumper car building. There’s a talent shrine you can use. When you’re done, walk along the wooden planks that lead outside.
Explore the place for a bit. Eventually you’ll find the floor broken underneath. There you’ll see a gate with a rocketship on it and a merry-go-round. If you walk past that, Jenny will appear. Follow her and you’ll be treated with a flashback.
Time to win Jenny a prize, that huge, grumpy, blue bear. Grab the gun by pressing “E” and shoot the ducks to aim for the prize. It shouldn’t be too difficult to get the top score, but the crabby, carny lady rips you off and gives you a green goblin instead. As the vision fades away, you’ll start to hear Victor.
Turn around toward the waypoint. Head there. Enemies that charge at you with axes appear. Take them out. Try to shoot out all the lights. When they’re gone, move forward past the ice cream stand on your right. The “Cotton Candy and Peanuts” stall will open and shine a light on you. They’ll also throw a heavy at you. Kill him.
You’ll need to run past the light, then head left behind the “Cotton Candy and Peanuts” stall. There’s a relic behind the stall “The Lantern of St. Anthony”. Grab it, turn around, then head left past the “Popcorn” stand. Kill the enemies that appear, then turn left past the bumper car place you exited earlier. A Van will appear. Shoot out the lights and take on the baddies that pour out. There are some rods you can use.
Head toward the pretzel stand, where two enemies will be waiting for you. Leave them in a pile of blood and guts, then head into the open gates where your darkling is waiting. When you enter, the blinding lights will hit you hard. Move forward and immediately turn right into the doorway. Follow the cord.
Break the wooden planks, then inside, kill the generator. Keep moving through the rooms by breaking the planks. Using the vertical slash is your best bet. It will lead you back to the room with the lights, but this time you can break the fuse box to open the garage doors. The screen will go black directing you into another area.
Move forward and kill the two running enemies in the back, then look up on the right hand side to shoot the light. On the right hand side as well, there are a small flight of stairs. Go up, to grab the relic, “AF and Hemah”. Now turn around and make a left past the funnel cake stand.
As you approach the ice cream stand, kill the enemies that appear. Some will be holed up inside the popcorn stand, one stand away. Take them out. As you round the corner on your right hand side, another group of enemies will make their presence known. There’s a whip guy and a flashlight guy here, so be careful.
When they’re down for the count, move forward and jump over the boxes next to the stand that has “Jesse” in graffiti. You’ll see a ladder up ahead. Climb it. Move forward. The room on the left has an ammo box and the one on the right has a talent shrine.
You’ll see the darkling hop out the window. Follow him out, then follow the planks over the wall. As you drop down you’ll see the Alley Ball stand on your left, which provides you ammo. Move forward and head toward the “Last Chance Saloon”. It’s another flashback and your chance to win the blue, grumpy, teddy bear for Jenny.
Press “E” to play. Shoot the bandits, but don’t shoot the sheriff and the bartender. After you win the prize, Jenny tells you she loves you as she walks away and disappears. The blue bear, however, is left behind. As you approach the bear, a slew of enemies will appear. Kill the van’s lights first, then kill the rest. Watch for the ones who dash, the ones with the whips, and the ones with the lights. Also, shoot out the lights on top that turn on.
When they’re dead, look to the left of the saloon and you’ll see a castle. Enter it to grab “The Abysmal Maw” relic. Now exit the castle, turn right, head straight, turn right, and climb up the steps. The path will lead you left down a tunnel. When you reach the end, the screen goes black and you’ll enter another section of the park.
Move forward past all the stalls and the path turns left. Use the shrine if you need to. Follow the path ahead. You’ll notice a sign above that says “Freaks Arcade”. The path turns slight right and you’ll see Victor on the billboard above. He’ll vanish of course.
Move ahead and you’ll be faced with a heavy, a flashlight guy and some grunts. Take them out, then proceed down the road. You’ll see a movie theater on the right hand side, but you’ll immediately see more enemies coming from a distance by the gate that looks like the maw of a clown. Take these guys out and watch out for the ones who dash quickly.
When they’re down, the gate will close and it’s up to your darkling to figure out a way through. He’ll find a propane tank. Grab it and throw it at the garage door. You’ll dent it, but it won’t work. This gives the bad guys ample time to throw flashbangs at you. Back up.
A flashlight guy and a shield guy will appear. Take some cover if you’re in the light. When they’re gone, head left past the clown gate and into the alley. Enter the gated door. As you enter, grab the relic, “Crescent of the Sun”, through the bars on the desk.
Move through and you’ll see a generator shining a light. Be careful here since it’s a chokepoint. A shield guy will eventually come forth, so you’ll need your space. Make them come to you down here. As you take them out one by one, kill the generator, then clear the room.
Head to the red door, break it, then leave the building. Climb the ladder you see ahead of you. Use the talent shrine at the top, then follow your darkling to the second floor. There will be some grunts and a shield guy. Maneuver your way around and take them all out, then head for the exit. It’s the open door.
You’ll notice that it’s extremely bright. You have to run for it. The double doors ahead will open filled with three bad guys. Kill them using your guns, then head inside from where they came. Follow the hallway, and you’ll see the generator. Destroy it, then jump back out to the roof that’s now nice and dark.
When you jump down, Victor will appear along with his Brotherhood gang. They’ll be on the roof and ground floor of the “Arcade”. Stay on the roof, and grab some rods and fans. Use them against the enemies using the arcade for cover. There will also be two enemies on the ground. Kill them too. When they’re finished, head inside the arcade.
As soon as you drop, however, you’ll be ambushed. Get ready to fight some grunts, a whip guy and a shield. When they’re finally dead, head up to the second floor of the arcade, go straight, past the pool table and make a left outside.
You’ll see a truck inside you can use for some fireworks. Walk up the ramps, then head down. Enemies will be at the bottom. Take them out from up top. When you drop down, more enemies will appear from the garage door. Take out the enemies who dash as well as the flashlight guy. When they’re gone, the darkling will drive the truck. There’s also a relic here, “Siddhartha’s Tears”.
Now look for the red door and break it open. Open the garage by pressing the button on the panel. Now head out after the explosive slow motion sequence. You’ll see Victor after a few paces, once you enter through the gate.
Up ahead, you’ll see the castle of horrors. Enter it amidst all the skull piles and skeletons.

The House of Horrors
Grab some ammo and some weapons here. Also, inside the booth is a relic, “The Mark of Cain”. Now go past the booth and you’ll see a skull with it’s spine still attached. Move through and you’ll reach the tunnel. The screen will go white and you’ll see Jenny as you both get on the ride.
During the ride, you’ll have access to your gun, but for now, just watch the horrors unfolding in front of you. When you reach the part where the gate almost crashes in front of you, kill the enemy that appears on the rotating wall. There will also be one behind the skeleton drenched in crimson light.
As the ride moves forward, there will be another enemy that appears when you start hearing the chainsaw. When the corpse is cut in half, he’ll be right behind. When you reach the part with the people about to get hung, kill the enemy that hides behind the post, and the one up above in the window. After the ride is over, Jenny will disappear.
Move forward and open the iron maiden. You’ll be pushed into it by Victor.

I Don’t Have Time for This
Jackie wakes up inside a closet as Frank and Edward help him out. Jackie is concerned for Jenny, and Edward tells you she’s okay. Move ahead and enter the door on the left. Jenny will be up ahead.
She’ll run from you into the office and Peter will stand in your way. Press “1” to get him “Out of your way”. You won’t be able to get through, until you find a weapon. Walk all the way back to your room. You’ll see Dolfo in a wheelchair. Ask him if he can find a weapon for you.
Dolfo tells you to go into the janitor’s closet. Turn around and head for the exit. Make a right and the janitor’s closet is up ahead. Press “E” to open it. As Jackie struggles to open it, the janitor appears. Does he remind of you of anyone? The darkling will turn off the light and the screen goes black.
Turn around and the institution is skewed beyond belief. You’ll see embers floating across the hallway. Keep moving forward by following the darkling. He’ll start explaining what’s going on. Follow the darkling into the portal.
When you come to, you’ll see The Darkness being siphoned from your body as you stand there helpless in the iron maiden. The screen will go white once again and you’ll become the darkling.
Move forward, then head left as you avoid the light. Head for the fireplace in the middle of the room. When you get inside, swipe the rod to break it, then hop into the cellar. Drop down and there’s a small tunnel you can take on the right side.
When you exit, you can break the beams on the shelf and kill the guy underneath. Now look to the barrels in the middle. Cut across the middle of them, then make a left. Move forward and up ahead you’ll see more beams that you can break. Right next to that shelf is a tunnel. Take it.
When you exit, take the next tunnel you see. When you exit that one, run across the hallway and enter another tunnel. When you exit that, you’ll see some light and on your left hand side is a fuse box. You’ll need to time yourself to break the box since the light comes on and off periodically.
When it’s dark, break the box, then the gate, then hop onto the pipe into the hole in the wall. Keep moving forward and you’ll see Jackie inside the Iron Maiden.
Turn right and follow the tunnel, then head left into the opening. Watch the patrols of the two enemies and kill them when they separate. There’s a room across from the table. Go inside and grab the relic, “Pope John XII”, then head into the tunnel in the same room.
Follow the yellow wire above, using the dark tunnels to your advantage. Kill the enemy by the table, and when his buddy investigates, gut him too. You’ll see the fuse here teasing you from the hole in the wall.
Maneuver your way around avoiding the light. There will be one enemy you’ll encounter with his back to you. Kill him, then enter the room with the pipe. Climb the pipe then break the fuse.
You’ll be inside Jackie as The Darkness implores you to reclaim him. Unfortunately, The Darkness gets taken and Jackie is about to burn.
You’re back as the darkling. The waypoint will pip, so head toward there. Watch out for the flashlight guy who will now be patrolling the hallway. Back track around and use the boxes for cover. When you head into the hallway, hang a left into the tunnel. Watch the patrols from the other side of the tunnel.
When it’s clear, exit the tunnel, make a right down the hallway, and enter the next tunnel on the right hand side. As you’re about to exit the opposite side, watch out for flashlights. Wait for the flashlight guy to move left, then take him out just in case. When he’s dead, turn around and look for the wooden planks that are glowing green. It’s close by. Break those, then enter.
Immediately drop down as you hear Jackie’s blood curdling screams. Move down to the bottom. You’ll see an enemy turning a wheel. Get down, get behind him and show him your finger means business.
When he’s dead, you’ll be seeing through the eyes of Jackie again as he escapes the iron maiden. A gate will open. Follow the darkling through as you both make your way through the hallways and up the stairs.
When you make it to the top, hang a left and into the little hallway with the light. You’ll reach some drapes. Press “E” to push them. Keep moving forward and the place will start to look familiar. It’s Jackie’s Dad’s office.
In the office, pick up the “Reliquary of the Blessed Blood”, then pick up your father’s gun. Head out of the office, and the door on the left will open. Go through and fight your way out. Kill the three enemies by the table, then go straight as you make a left in the tunnel.
As you hang right, more enemies will be down the hall. Kill them all, and replenish your ammo with a box on the right hand side. Keep moving forward, then head right. Use “backspace” to see where you need to go.
Take cover in the hallway with the wine racks. Kill the five enemies that occupy this room. Up ahead is an arched doorway. Enter it, head right, then left, past the gates. You’ll see a purple light up ahead. A cinematic will ensue where Victor stabs Peevish with the siphon and gives him a bit of The Darkness.
It’s boss fight time. The fight should not be too bad. You can see Peevish’s location by the purple light. What you have to watch out for are his darklings. In any case, if you’re low on health it’s easy to run away. Keep pumping rounds at Peevish. When his life goes down enough, he’ll glow red. Keep the same tactics, but watch out for the increased amount of darklings.
When Peevish dies, go up to his corpse and harvest The Darkness. It’s time go after Victor. Press “backspace” to reveal where you need to go, or follow your darkling. When you reach the darkling, break open the gate, then head through.

Father and Son
Go through the door, then head up the stairs to the door that’s open a crack. The screen will black out and when it reappears, access the talent shrine if you need to. When you’re done, break the wooden beams barring your way through the hole.
As you enter the kitchen, goons will appear. Use your father’s gun to show them who is boss. Keep note of the enemies that shoot at you from the second floor in the distance. Head toward the light, then hang a left. Go up the stairs, then pull the beam off on the wall on the right side to create yourself a platform to access the second story. Watch out for those annoying whip guys as well as the flashlight mofo.
As you walk up, turn right and there’s a room you can access after you tore the wall down. Grab “The Silent Night” relic. Turn slight left across the planks. You’ll see the blue teddy bear up ahead. A dashing enemy will appear. Stun him if you have the swarm, otherwise shoot him until he’s dead. Now exit the bedroom.
Two enemies will be waiting for you on the right. Kill them both. Now head for the hole in the wall where a talent shrine is. When you’re done, exit the room using the opposite hole in the wall. Head right down the stairs and into a great room.
In the room is a piano covered by a drape. Examine the picture of your father by pressing “E”. As you examine it, Victor will appear behind you talking about your father and his obsession with The Darkness.
Victor will have you reeling on the ground and send his goons after you. You’ll have to survive about two waves of enemies, featuring Mr. Whip, Flashlight Guy, Heavy Dude, Dashing Man and Shield Homie. This fight can get quite annoying. Things do get easier if you have swarm to stun them and gun channeling, especially when you can shoot through the walls. Just remember to avoid the sunlight. After the fight is over, pursue Victor.
A door at the back wall will open. You’ll enter a hallway where a talent shrine is located. If you need to use it, do so. When you’re done, head up the stairs. Behind the stairs, however, on the second floor is relic, “The Deceiver’s Grasp”. Now turn around and look down at the hole in the floor. Take the enemies by surprise.
When they’re dead, drop down the hole and into the doorway ahead. You’ll enter another great room. Take out the baddies that appear, then walk underneath the bridge. Hang a right on the stairs. You’ll be greeted by a whip guy and later on a shield guy on the right hand side. The left hand side will be occupied as well.
Fight your way through, on the right side, then hang a U around the second floor. You’ll see a closed door. Shoot the light that bars the way, then destroy the door. Head left down the hallway, left up the stairs, then left into the attic.

Defeat Victor
Move forward through the narrow hallway. When you reach the long hallway, Victor will start throwing vertical blades at you. Break them, by slashing horizontally. Keep moving forward as you do this. When you reach the end of the hallway, head right. You’ll be prepped with some guns, ammo, and a talent shrine. When you’re ready, break the planks.
Reach the end of the room where Victor will be waiting. He’ll talk for a while before he does anything. His main attacks are the blades he throws. You need to slash horizontally and vertically, accordingly. Plus, he’ll utilize a smaller attack where he rapidly shoots out dark energy.
Periodically, he’ll summon his goons to fight, which are actually not too bad since, the more annoying ones don’t appear. Save some of their hearts for later. Constantly use swarm and gun channeling if you have it. It helps a lot.
When Victor’s life is empty, he drops the siphon. Walk up to it and pick it up with “E”. Jackie will beat the crap out of Victor, and will then stab himself with the siphon.
Jackie wakes up back at the asylum with Tony and Swifty at his side. After they leave, exit your room and Vinnie will wonder if you’re okay. Jackie will keep saying he needs to see Jenny, so Jimmy allows it after he injects Jackie. Follow Edward to see Jenny.
On the way, Doctor Vick shows up side by side with Doctor Jimmy. When the conversation is over, follow Jimmy. As you see Jimmy waiting by the nurse’s station, the darkling opens the door on the right. Follow him up the stairs. As he helps you, he sacrifices his life. Thanks monkey. I’ll miss you pal.
As you head out on the ledge of the rooftop, you’ll be followed by Eddie, Jenny and Vick. They’ll try to convince you that if you jump, you’ll die, that the world you’re in now is real.
You have to make a choice now. Stay with Jenny using the “LMB” or reject the asylum with “RMB”.
I chose to reject the asylum, since Jackie has been going through so much to get Jenny back, but as always, it’s up to you. If you do choose this, you’ll be transported to hell. When you land, move forward and head for Jenny.
Three enemies will appear. Kill them with The Darkness and grab their gun. Jenny will be taken up. Follow the path where the waypoint marks. You’ll be attacked by more enemies as you ascend. Take them out. Eventually you’ll find a relic, “Ashes of the Unnamed”. Grab it, then break the spikes to continue.
Keep moving up and killing all the enemies that appear before you. Soon, you’ll reach Jenny. Kill all the enemies surrounding her, then break one of her binds. Go through the opening and keep following the path, while killing more enemies. Shield guys start to show up, so be careful.
When you reach Jenny again, destroy all the enemies surrounding her, then break her final set of binds. You’ve freed Jenny. Or have you? After the credits end, you’ll be back in the game. Press “E” to let go.
Choices
Alright, so if you choose to stay with Jenny, you’ll stay in the asylum and dance with her on the checkered floor of said asylum until the credits roll. If you choose to reject it, like I did, Jackie will go to Hell to save Jenny, but she’ll then be host to the Angelus, the opposite of the Darkness, after the credits. Make your choice and watch what you decide.
Congratulations! You’ve just beaten The Darkness 2! And remember, there’s still the co-op to go through.
