Introduction
A lot of people have made different decisions throughout the course of the Mass Effect series, with many different outcomes. For the purposes of this single player walkthrough, I’ll use the imported save I have from Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2. Here’s the run down of what will be imported:
Saved rachni queen
Rescued Ashley on Virmire
Chose to save Council
Saved Maelon’s Data
Kept Wrex alive on Virmire
Chose to re-write the geth heretics
Left Controller Base to Cerberus
Survived suicide mission with 11 squad mates
Romanced Ashley before ME2
Romanced Tali in ME2
I went full Paragon throughout, so expect this walkthrough to go the same Paragon route. I will also choose a Vanguard as it has been the class that I have been since the original. Of course there will also be different tactics involved during fights, so use the class that suits your best and let’s begin the final chapter of your Shepard’s Mass Effect saga.

Prologue: Earth
The prologue begins as Shepard is looking out the window, watching a child play with a replica ship. James Vega then enters the room to tell Shepard that the defense committee needs to talk to him. As they exit, Shepard runs into Anderson. Anderson tells him that something big is headed toward Earth.
Shepard then asks if it’s the Reapers. You’ll have a choice between “We should’ve prepared more” or “I’m certain. I’ll choose the former. Shepard will walk up the stairs with Anderson. You’ll meet Ashley on the way to the meeting. Tell her it’s good to see her. Eventually you’ll meet with the defense committee.
After some back and forth chat, you’ll find out that the Reapers are indeed coming. Shepard will talk about how this fight is for survival. Tell one of the committee members that we’ll need to stand together to get through this.
During the conversation, you’ll find out that the lunar base has lost contact. Afterward, the monitor above will display the chaos of the Reaper invasion that has already begun. Before you know, the Reapers are on the front door. Shepard looks out the window and tells everyone to watch out. The window shatters and the desk the committee was using, rolls over across the room.
As you come to, Anderson finds you, gives you a gun, and you’re both headed out the window, precariously walking on the beams outside of the building. This starts the tutorial section regarding movement, combat and exploration.
Walk down the beam with Anderson as he tells you to move. Make a left along the next beam as you keep moving forward. You’ll see the skyline ahead as well as the roads below. Hold space to run. As you sprint along the beam, a laser will slice it’s way through the path you need to go.
Now make a left up the beam, which is at an upward incline, then a right across the grated platform. Take a running jump ahead, where the flames are raging. Hold space to run and Shepard will automatically leap to the other side.
Follow the grated platform, until you need to drop down to the next ledge. Turn left along the side of the building and you’ll see an air battle scream by your ears. Up ahead will be a ladder. Simply walk up to the ladder to climb it.
When you get to the top, you’ll see Anderson take cover next to the wall. Take cover yourself, by pressing “space”, then hold forward and “space” to jump over. Turn slight right, then head down the building at a downward incline. You’ll run across some solar panels.
Keep moving down as you pass by the vents releasing steam. Jump over the air duct and Anderson will alert you of husks up ahead. They’ll be climbing the building ahead to get to you, as well as the ladder that leads down. Shoot them as they climb. When they’ve dropped to their doom, climb down the ladder.
As you make your way down, with your feet stepping on plant life, more husks will climb up over the railing. They’ll be trying to smash open a window. You will run out of ammo, so you’ll have to get near them, and lay the smack down using the melee button. By default it’s “F”, but for my comfort, I’ll bind it to the “middle mouse button”. Pistol whip those husks until they are no more.
A laser from one of the Reaper vessels will now aim for the building that Shepard’s on. Shepard will take cover as the windows from the building shatter and explode. Enter that building, which is now in ruin, and look for the sliding double doors with the orange holographic panel. Press “space” to open it. As you do, a husk will try to scratch you. Hold the melee button to unleash a power attack. Now you can open the doors as Shepard calls for Anderson.
Anderson moves forward, but Shepard hears a sound coming from an open vent. It’s a boy, hiding from the destruction. Say that you can help him. The boy will back off saying you can’t help him. Anderson then calls out for Shepard and the boy disappears.
Shepard will head through the doors with Anderson. As Anderson talks about the situation, tell him you understand how he feels. Anderson and Shepard will wind their way through crashed beams and fire. Eventually they’ll end up in another room.
When you’re in control, grab the ammo resting on the ground by the shattered glass. Press “R” to reload. Jump out the broken window down to the ledge. Hang a left past the plants and onto another concrete beam. Walk down the ramp as you see the Reaper in the distance causing chaos.
Climb over the air duct, then hang slight left past the live electrical wire above. As you keep proceeding forward over the copper metal ramps, an explosion will occur. The platform beneath you will crumble, then you’ll slide down to the next piece of footing.
When you come to, move ahead over the metal pillar that’s hanging over the water. Run forward to leap over the gap. You’ll reach a drop off point where you’ll meet friendlies. You’ll have a chat with the one of the soldiers tending to another soldiers injury. He tells you to watch out, or they’ll see you.
Those things are known as cannibals. Shepard will take cover. From here, you can press “LMB” to shoot and “RMB” to pop out and aim. Take out all the cannibals, then head back to Anderson, next to the two soldiers. Talk to the two soldiers by pressing “space”. After the conversation, the soldier is pulled out and a path is laid out for you.
Walk along the newly commissioned bridge, then hang a left. You’ll walk across pieces of metal and rubble. On your right however, is a salvage kit. Grab it for some XP. As the path makes you turn right. Take cover and take out another group of cannibals. They seem to go down nicely using the cryo or the fire rounds.
After they’ve been demolished, hop over the cover, then look right. More cannibals are on the way. Take cover again and take them out as they come. Move forward down to the area where the cannibals appeared. Head slight right. Grab the M-8 Avenger, an assault rifle, and directly in front of you is the radio you need to use. Use the radio to trigger a cut-scene. Anderson will activate the distress beacon.
Afterwards, a wave of cannibals will emerge. Shepard will take cover here. Now start taking them out as you wait for extraction. You’ll now have your pistol and your assault rifle to use. Also, depending on your class, you’ll have biotic powers. Since I’m a vanguard, I’ll use pull whenever I get the chance. Eventually, you will run out of ammo, but as that happens, the Normandy will appear to provide some support.
Shepard will run for the Normandy and jump into it. Unfortunately, Anderson will decide to stay behind and no matter of convincing will do the trick to make him stay, even suggesting to stay yourself. As the Normandy takes off, Shepard will see the boy in the vent enter a shuttle as the survival of the human race begins. Cue epic music.
After the title screen shows, Shepard, Ashley, and James will be gearing up. James will ask about Anderson, while Shepard says they need to head to the Citadel. James will call BS. Choose a response. I’ll choose I don’t like it either. As James argues, press “RMB” to pull off a Paragon conversation interrupt.
Joker then joins the conversation on an incoming transmission saying there’s a message from Admiral Hackett. He’ll tell you that you need to go to an outpost on Mars first before heading to the Citadel. There might be a way to stop the Reapers there. However, the outpost hasn’t responded.
Ashley and James will be your squad as you venture out onto the red planet with an incoming storm on the way.
Return to the Main Walkthrough Page
Priority: Mars
The shuttle carrying you, James and Ashley, will dock on the red and somewhat desolate Mars, outside a field of solar panels. Make a right past the solar panels toward the direction of the fluttering flags. You’ll see some railings up ahead with a gap in-between. They’ll be highlighted by flashing lights.
As you approach the railing, James will mention the incoming storm on the horizon. Hold “V” to take a look at that monstrous thing. When you reach the railing, drop down. A group of dead soldiers will greet you. Grab the M-92 Mantis on the ground next to the dead bodies. Now follow the path down the opposite way of where the stopped vehicle went. You’ll see some tire tracks that lead to a grouping of crates. A diamond will also appear leading you towards the “Mars Facility Entrance Controls”.
When you reach the crates, you’ll also see some metallic barriers you can use for cover. Direct yourself and your squad to cover. Down below the rough surface of Mars, you’ll see a group of enemy soldiers next to a vehicle, executing a civilian.
When you and your team are set, get ready to attack. Since they’re clustered together, they should be taken out quickly. Use Vega to throw a frag grenade and Ashley to toss an inferno grenade. As a Vanguard in my case, I’ll use pull on one of the enemies. The group should go down in seconds.
Move down to where the civilian was executed. Three more enemies will appear behind the vehicle. Take them out as well, then head up the dirt path. When you make it up, take cover behind the rocks or the four crates adjacent to each other. There are also vehicles you can use to flank your way around to get better position on the left hand side. Take the enemies out that appear here.
You’ll see the metallic ramp that leads into the Mars Facility after the battle. Enter the doors, then activate the panel on the elevator. Ashley will then confront you about your history with Cerberus. Tell her “It was a temporary alliance”, and Shepard will explain the situation.
The room will then get pressurized and you’ll see your squad taking their helmets off. When you reach the top of the lift, you’ll watch a cut-scene where Liara T’Soni is escaping from a group of Cerberus soldiers in an air vent.
She’ll escape, use singularity, and kill the soldiers that were giving chase. Afterward, Shepard greets Liara. She talks about a weapon that could defeat the Reapers. You’ll get three options, “We’re learning this just now?”, “Seems too good to be true”, and “Finally some good news”. I gravitated toward the question first, then replied with “You did the right thing”, ending with “Seems too good to be true”.
The conversation will be interrupted with some enemies looking to barge in through the metallic doors. They’ve brought a torch to do just that. As the team gets ready, Shepard will order James to go back to the ship leaving your squad with Liara and Ash.
When you’re in control, you’ll be on the ground floor, while the enemies are up on the second. Use Liara’s singularity to lift them off the ground, then do some more damage with Ash’s inferno grenade. Take some shots on the weaker enemies. When you’ve got all of them, you’ll need to find a way up. Grab the med-kit near where you took cover behind the yellow vehicle to grab some XP.
You can try to use the elevator to head up, but it will not work. Look for the panel that will lift the yellow vehicle. It’s right in front of the white vehicle. When you press the switch, the yellow vehicle ahead will rise up.
Now look left, head up the ramp, climb the boxes, then jump across the vehicle to get on the second floor. Remember here, that you can quickly jump over containers and cover now, by double tapping “Space” for easier transitions. When you’re on the second floor, make a right, then head to the metal doors with the green holographic panel on it. Access it to open it.
Head through and you’ll see a civilian get shot in the back. You’re prompted to take cover at the highlighted marker. When you’re in cover, slide right behind the enemy. Now hold the melee button and take him out in a sweet execution animation. Now take out the rest of the enemies in the room.
Head for the open door, hang a left and you’ll see a terminal up ahead. Before you enter, turn right and access the data pad on the row of seats to get XP, then enter the room which houses the terminal. Go to the ammo rack and grab the Ariake Technologies Gauntlets . Before you access the security console, grab an M-4 Shuriken and a med-kit next to the dead bodies.
When you gain access to the console, you’ll notice a woman on the monitor, Dr. Eva Core. Liara will then open the metal doors that lead to the exterior airlock. Head through them to the next set of doors past the coiled red and blue wires resting on the ground. This will lead outside. Take the ladder down, then focus on the tram in the distance using “V”.
Move down the long pathway with the tool chest and ladder in the distance. Grab the Kassa Fabrication Chestplate on the tool chest, then climb the ladder. When you reach the top, head up the ramp, then jump over the gap. There’s an open door on the left. Enter it. The next area will be dark. Shepard and crew will turn on their flashlights.
Follow the path. It leads down the stairs. Grab the datapad right before you head down the stairs. When you reach the bottom, take cover. The squad will turn off their flashlights. A group of enemies will appear behind glass. Take them out. Look around the serving area to find a “SMG Scope I” , then move ahead through the windows that were just broken.
Turn right into the control room that’s flashing red. Grab some ammo by the rack if you need it, then access the med station to get some XP. Access the environmental controls on the panel to pressurize the room. There will also be some security footage showing Dr. Eva murder two soldiers. Liara will blame herself for Dr. Eva. Tell her to not blame herself, then follow up with “I have a lot to live for”. Liara will then open the next set of doors.
Head through the doors. You can access the weapon bench on the right. When you’re done, look at the rubble to grab “SMG Ultralight Materials I” Grab the datapad as you head up the staircase, then open those doors.
As the doors open, enemies will be revealed. Get the jump on them. Further down the hallway will be some shield enemies. Use pull to make them drop their shields, then take them out too. There’s a datapad behind one of the desks in the second room with the lab equipment.
Move down the end of the hallway, hang a left, then take cover on the doorway that enters the next room. Take out the enemies down this corridor. Use some shockwave. As you battle, the doors in the distance will open revealing more enemies. Take out the enemies in the current room, then head for the next.
Take cover by the next set of doors. More enemies will be in the next room. The path ahead will be blocked however, so to get into the next room, you’ll have to make a left down the stairs, head straight, then up the stairs on the right. You can use this for flanking purposes as well.
When you head into the next room, you’ll have taken out a good amount of enemy soldiers. The doors ahead will close, but when you enter the hallway, head left to look inside the lab through the windows. You’ll notice there’s a laser wall scanning the room. There’s a terminal on the right window, which you can use to stop it. Make sure to stop it so you can enter the next set of doors in the lab.
Enter the door to the lab when it’s green. Inside the lab, you can pick up a “Shotgun High Caliber Barrel I” , a datapad you can examine, a med-kit, and a “Sniper Rifle Extended Barrel I” . Now head for the next set of metal doors. When the doors open, hang a left, head into the doors, then make a right along the pipes on the wall. Enter the door on the left and you’ll be greeted by an automated turret.
Shepard will take cover as well as Ash. She’ll move up ahead of you. Follow the markers as you make your way forward. When you head out from the hallway. Keep taking cover until you reach the balcony. Afterward, move from cover to cover to your left. You’ll reach a piece of cover you’ll need to turn the corner. By default, press the “middle mouse button” to transition. Keep moving left and you’ll be out of range of the turret.
Enter the door ahead, then take out the enemies inside. When the battle is over, grab the datapad, the med-kit on the shelf, and the “Sniper Rifle Concentration Module” . Use the console the shut off the turret. You’ll also see Dr. Eva Core giving commands to the troops via the monitor.
Ashely will find something in the next room. As she opens the helmet, the person inside looks like a husk, but different. Ash will then start questioning whether she knows you anymore after Cerberus got their hands on you. Tell her, “You think I’m like him?”, the follow up with “I’m still the same guy”. It will reassure her.
Shepard decides to call in the enemy team, so the squad can ambush them. This will give the squad the opportunity to board the tram. From here Ash will suggest to move down to the ground floor and hit them from the side, but it’s best if you leave your team up on the second floor for the height advantage.
Position Ash and Liara by the crates, then wait for the enemy team to arrive. Take them out, then head for the tram. Use the console on the tram to activate it. The tram will move, but it will be disabled by a bomb on the track. From here a tram going to opposite way, loaded with troops, will zero in on your position. They’ll stop right next to your tram. Take them out, hop onto their tram, then access the console to move forward.
When the tram stops, you’ll be greeted with more enemies. Hop out of the tram, take cover, then take out the enemies in front of you. As you move up, take cover behind the crates near the booth. You’ll notice that both sides that lead to the booth are barred. Just keep taking out enemies.
A Centurion will eventually open the glass barriers as well as the bars. Shielded enemies will flood the place on the right side. Use shockwave to stun them, plus pull. When they’re all down. Move past the booth on the left hand side and grab a M-15 Vindicator on the rack to the left of the metal doors. Head into the booth to grab the med-kit, then turn around and head to the right side rack to grab a “Shotgun Shredder Mod I” . Now head for the door in-between the racks.
When you enter the door, you’ll be in the archives. The Illusive Man will appear behind you in holographic form. He’ll explain he wants the data in the Prothean artifacts to solve the Reaper threat. Let him know that “You’re wasting time!” From there you can answer with a Paragon or Renegade comment. Paragons will reply with “Help me, then”. Afterwards tell the Illusive man “You’re deluded” or “Over my dead body”.
You’ll find out that the Prothean data is currently being erased. Ash will then find Dr. Eva Core in the room. She’ll escape and take the data. Give chase. Take note that you’ll never catch up with her, so just keep her in your line of sight. Remember to double tap “space” to traverse cover quickly.
When you reach the platform outside, Dr. Eva will board the shuttle, but James will ram it, so it doesn’t get away. In the aftermath, Dr. Eva busts out through the flames with her skin peeled off. She grabs Ashley who tries to shoot her, then pounds her head on the shuttle.
Dr. Eva will then come after you. Aim and shoot at her face. Time will slow down. When you put enough shots on her, she will collapse. Shepard tells James to grab Dr. Eva as Shepard takes Ash. The team will then board the Normandy.
To help Ash, Liara says they need to go to the Citadel. Admiral Hackett will then be patched through. He’ll ask about the archives and Liara will state that it’s a blueprint for a Prothean device. Hackett grabs the data to analyze as well.
Liara will talk to Shepard about the weapon. Reply with either “Yeah, it’s just hard to believe” or “I just hate running”. Soon you’ll see the Normandy fly toward the Citadel. Ash will be sent to the hospital and Shepard will have a chat with Captain, I mean, Commander Bailey.
He’ll mention you can go to the hospital to check up on things, but to move the story forward, you’ll need to go to the Council to start the next mission, Priority: Citadel
Return to the Main Walkthrough Page
Priority: Citadel
After the mission to Mars, you’ll be on the Citadel. From here your next objective is to go to the Council, but before you do, head to the hospital to see Ash and explore the place as you see fit. You’ll be able to talk to Diana Allers on this floor as well. Talk to her and get her to board your ship as a new war asset.
Use the map by pressing “M” to get yourself acquainted with the place. You can also talk to Avina. To go to the hospital , head toward point 4, access the elevator, then choose the floor you wish to go. In this case, choose the floor 4 which contains the Huerta Memorial Hospital.
As you exit the elevator. Head straight and access the gift terminal. From here you can grab flower, chocolates and books for Ash. Purchase the one by Tennyson, which is a reference to Mass Effect 1. Keep exploring the lobby to find Dr. Chakwas and Dr. Michel. Talk to her and she’ll request to join the Normandy again.
I figured she’s been through enough, so this time, I chose to let her stay in the labs. This will actually give you some reputation points. After talking with Chakwas, have a chat with Dr. Michel and have her join your crew. This will trigger a paragon/renegade option and she’ll join the Normandy giving you bonus rep plus a new war asset.
You’ll be done in the lobby, so enter the double doors to get into the patient wing. Ash’s room will be the first one on the right, past the hallway. As you enter, a cut-scene will trigger. Talk to her by saying you’re “thinking about her”, then tell her to “take care”.
Now head back to the elevator to access the Citadel Embassies. From the elevator, make a left and listen to the chat between the turian, human and volus. You’ll get a new mission called the “Shrike Abyssal”.
Now keep going past the elevator and up the stairs. When you head up, take the first door on the left to talk to Commander Bailey. He’ll be talking with Ms. Al-Jilani having a bit of an argument. She’ll then direct her attention to Shepard before the door closes. When you’re done talking, exit his office, make a left, then make a right into Udina’s office. His assistant will lead you to the Council meeting already in progress.
Shepard walks in to say that Earth has been attacked, and Udina says that we must fight the enemy together. Liara also shows the plans of the Prothean weapon and says there was a piece missing known only as the Catalyst. Shepard states that construction on the weapon is about to begin.
The turian councilor will ask if this can really stop the Reapers. You’ll be presented with “I believe in trying” or “Do you have a better plan?” I chose the former. Later on the Council says that with Earth being attacked, it gives the rest of the galaxy time to prepare.
When the meeting ends Udina wants to meet you in his office. Udina will be pretty upset, but in a bit, the turian councilor makes an appearance. He’ll tell Shepard about Primarch Fedorian, who called the war summit. Says he’s on Palaven, but contact was lost. If he is saved, says the councilor, he would be a great ally to unite the races. Before he leaves, however, he’ll reinstate your Spectre status.
From here you’ll get some paragon points and you can talk to Udina before you leave his office to ask about his thoughts and the situation. When you’re done, head out, and enter the Spectre requisition office. Here you can access the Spectre terminal, the shop and a shooting range to test out your weapons.
Head back down the stairs and you’ll see Ms. Al-Jilani opposite the elevator. Chat with her. She’ll attack you once again, but reassure her with a paragon interrupt. She’ll say she’s glad you’re on the Alliance side and she’ll become one of your war assets.
James Vega will be looking out the window to the right of the elevator. You’ll chat with him. Reply with “Not your kind of place?” and follow up with “It’s hard to believe” or “they will”. You’ll get some rep. Now enter the elevator, and access Normandy Dock: Bay D24.
Go straight, then hang a left by the waiting area to get back on board the Normandy. The next sequence, shows Shepard dreaming about the boy back on earth. Follow the boy through this dark forest. Shepard will wake up and talk with Liara. She’ll ask you if something is bothering you. Respond with either “Ash getting hurt” or “Everyone back on Earth”. You’ll be interrupted by Specialist Traynor. Liara will leave.
Traynor will update you on the Normandy’s retrofit. She seems nervous. Tell her “it’s okay”. She’ll then say that Admiral Hackett would like to talk to you on the vid-com regarding the Council meeting. Respond with either “I understand their concerns” or “They’re useless”. Hackett will then talk about the the war resources for constructing the weapon. Question the survival of Earth. He’ll expect a progress report.
Alright, so before heading out to Palaven, let’s explore the ship a bit. After the conversation with Hackett, you’ll be in the war room. Head out to access the “War Terminal”. The first tab shows the people, weapons, armies and fleets you’ve accumulated. These are your war assets. The better prepared they are, the better they will do in the final battle. You can also access each conflict zone to see their state of readiness. When you’re done exit the room.
When you head through the sliding door, head toward the crates to pick up a “Model – Alliance Shuttle” . Exit the room, past the meeting desk. You’ll go through a checkpoint, then enter the galaxy room.
Give Joker a chat. He’ll be in front of the ship, then use the elevator behind the galaxy control to access the floors. Level 1 is the captain’s cabin, 2 is the combat info center (the one you’re currently on), 3 is the crew deck, 4 is engineering and 5 is the shuttle bay.
In the captain’s cabin, you can access your email, change your gear, and choose your music. When you acces the crew deck, enter the first door you see on the right. It used to be Thane’s quarters in ME2. Enter it and grab the “Model – Destiny Ascension” . Now wrap yourself behind the elevator to check out the rest of the crew quarters.
If you’re facing the elevator, head right and enter the doors with the green holographic panel. That’s the medical bay. Talk with Dr. Michel. She’ll run some tests on you. Tell her it’s okay. If you investigate this room further, you can set bonus powers on the terminal as well as completely redo your skill tree. The door in the med bay also holds Dr. Eva Core.
Opposite the med bay is Liara’s room, formerly, Miranda’s room. Glyph, Liara’s bot will greet you. He’ll let you know you can access a terminal here to upgrade things. Now head for Liara to talk with her. She’ll tell you she’s now the Shadow Broker and with her resources, she can better research the Prothean device. Talk with her and reply with “Did the Protheans finish it?” then reply again with “Agreed” or “We just need it working”. Finally end it with “I appreciate you asking” or “There’s hope for Earth”.
When you’re done chatting, you can check out the “Main Battery” or just head back to the elevator. Go to the engineering deck. From the elevator, head right, then enter the door on the left. Going left will enter the same place as well. Talk with Engineer Adams about the ship.
Head downstairs to where Jack’s quarters used to be from ME2 to grab “Model – Sovereign” and “Model – Turian Cruiser” .
Facing the elevator, make a left down the hall to enter the next room. Have a chat with Diana Allers. You can either ask her to “Get us support” or “Focus on Cerberus”. If you go paragon, you’ll get +2 rep and +2 paragon.
Head back to the elevator to access the final floor, the shuttle bay. From here have a chat with Lieutenant Cortez. He’ll tell you about the shop you can access here as well as the weapon upgrade terminal. To the right past the two crew members standing next to each other is a small area with crates stacked up. You can pick up a “Model – Freighter” here. To the left of James where another group of crates are stacked, you can find “Model – Quarian” .
Have a chat with James as he works out. He’ll ask to spar. If you go paragon, you’ll have two opportunities to perform and paragon interrupt. You can also get to know him a bit better afterward. He’ll also give you a nickname, “Loco”. You’ll get +2 rep and unlock fortification in the medical bay.
From here head back to the combat info center to access the galaxy map. Talk to Specialist Traynor before you delve into the map. You’ll notice clusters that are taken by Reapers already. You can access these areas to find survivors, intel and salvage. To access the DLC, “From Ashes”, you’ll need to head to Eden Prime. There’s also a walkthrough for that. When you’re ready, let’s head to Palaven.
Return to the Main Walkthrough Page
Love Mass Effect almost as much as we do? Leave some support in the comments section and help us help you defeat the Reapers.
Priority: Palaven
Head to Apien Crest to start the mission, then look to the moon, Menae, next to the planet Palaven. Enter the moons orbit, then prepare to land. Choose your squad, then your weapons, and you’ll be ready to go.
You’ll see the turian fleet attacking the Reapers above Palaven. The Normandy will fly in undetected to the moon to grab the primarch. As the shuttle lands, the LZ will get swarmed. James will open the hatch. From here, take out the husks as the shuttle flies by. Eventually the shuttle will land. Move forward to where the turian soldiers are firing and take out those husks.
Talk to the soldier as Shepard asks which way to go to find the commanding officer. Right next to the defense structure is some salvage you can grab for 1250 credits. Now follow the path ahead. You’ll see a metal door come down to form a ramp to let you in. Enter the camp to find the commanding officer. From here, look around for supplies in the structures.
The first defense structure on the left has a med-kit. The one opposite that, has a datapad for some XP. There are also crates in the middle of these two structures where a M-97 Viper can be found. Eventually, you’ll find the General, named Corinthus. Shepard will ask about Primarch Fedorian. Corinthus pauses, then states that the primarch was killed as his shuttle was leaving the moon.
You have three responses, “How are things here on Menae?”, “I’m sorry for your loss”, or “Damned Reapers”. Ask the question first, then follow up with either of the last two responses. The General will then task you with repairing the comm tower. Continue searching the defense structures to find “Armax Arsenal Shoulder Guard” , “Pistol Piercing Mod I” , a weapon bench, datapad, “Hahne-Kedar Greaves” , and a med-kit. Near the exit to the comm tower you’ll find, “Assault Rifle Piercing Mod” , and a “M-27 Scimitar” .
After gathering these goodies, head out toward the exit where the portion of the wall will turn into a ramp. Follow the path out. You’ll see soldiers fighting up ahead as well as the comm tower in the distance. Make your way there. You’ll be attacked by husks. Take them out, then head for the tower.
Unfortunately, you won’t be able to fix it with the panel at the base of the tower. One of your team members will need to go up to fix it, leaving you and a second team member to defend the spot while it’s being fixed. Make your selection and ride out the wave of husks. After being fixed, you’ll still need to hold out.
When the skirmish is over, head back into the camp to talk to General Corinthus regarding information from Palaven Command. When you talk to the General, he’ll talk to you about who the next primarch will be. Garrus will then step up and tell you, that together, you’ll find the next primarch, named Adrien Victus. A conversation will be had about Victus.
Joker then radios in that the Normandy is acting crazy. Liara will go back to see what’s wrong, leaving you with Garrus and James. A harvester will appear heading for the airfield. That’s where you need to go. When you’re in control, go straight, make a left past the crates, then over the ramp. Take cover here and defend this area.
There are marauder’s here with shields, so take them out first. Other than that, it’s just husks. There’s also an “Assault Rifle Magazine Upgrade I” you can grab by the barriers you’re taking cover near. When the battle is over, you can search the battlefield, namely the crates in the distance. You can grab some salvage rewarding you with 2500 credits. Now head back to camp. Corinthus will tell you about the main barricade. It’s up ahead.
Use the ladder to climb it, then man the gun. Take out all the husks that appear. Eventually, you’ll see a huge hulking enemy known as the brute, with heavy armor. He’ll knock you and your team down from the platform. Give it everything you got. Watch out for it’s charge move as well as it’s swipe. You’ll also have to contend with husks here, so watch out. If they grab you, keep tapping “F” to kill them.
After the brute is dead, you’ll need to go on foot to grab Victus. Garrus will show you the way. Remember, you can hold “V” to see the marker. This portion of the rescue doesn’t consist of too many enemies, besides a couple of husks. Follow the rocky terrain. The path is fairly linear. You’re getting close to the destination after you jump a gap.
You’ll see turian soldiers up ahead. Grab the med-kit next to them, plus a “Sniper Rifle Spare Ammo I”, and more creds. Move forward and you’ll see the harvester take out a ship. Check for survivors. There won’t be any. Now drop down the ledges and keep moving forward. The rocky path turns right, at first. Eventually you’ll find a med-kit and some ammo, then reach a path where husks are coming in from the sky in the distance.
You’ll reach the broken wall into the camp. Take cover and take out the initial cannibals. There will also be a brute in the vicinity. On the left side of the camp, next to some crates is a med-kit plus a “Sniper Rifle Enhanced Scope I” . When you’ve got them, get back into the fight. The path to the left will give you a slight height advantage, perfect for Garrus, while you and James can take the main path, taking the brunt of the fire.
Take out the marauders and then eventually, two more brutes. You’ll probably run out of ammo at some point. Keep an eye on any clips that fall to replenish your stock. When the enemies are dead, move deeper into the camp to find Victus. When you get close enough, a cut-scene will begin. Shepard asks that Victus go on the Normandy for a summit about the Reapers since he’s the new primarch.
Ask him about his hesitation, then tell him he’s perfect for the job in this time of war. He’ll agree, but before he leaves, he’d like to say goodbye to his men. Garrus will join the squad again while Victus is away. When Victus gets back, he says he’ll help, if you can get the krogan to help. Victus will then be aboard the Normandy.
On the Normandy, Shepard talks with the asari councilor, with no break through regarding the summit. From here, in the war room, you can: talk to Hackett first, then talk to Victus, head to med-bay to see what’s going on with the ships systems, talk to Garrus in the main battery, speak with Cortez in the shuttle bay, have a chat with Traynor next to the galaxy map, and talk with Joker after you find out what’s wrong with the ship.
You can also check your email for additional quests and things to do. Before heading to Sur’Kesh, give the Citadel a visit for even more quests, plus new decks to explore and people to see. When you’re ready, it’s time to begin Priority: Sur’Kesh.

Priority: Sur’Kesh
Before your destination is revealed to be Sur’Kesh, head over to Annos Basin and meet with the diplomats who are on diplomatic ships in the Pranas system. Dock with the ship and from there, the salarian dalatrass and the krogan clan chief will come aboard for negotiations.
You’ll meet the dalatrass, and if Wrex was saved in the original Mass Effect, he’ll appear as the krogan chief. While the turians need the help of the krogan on Palaven, Wrex demands a cure for the genophage from the dalatrass. She’ll say no at first. You’ll can respond with three options, “What’s your concern?”, “The krogan deserve a cure” and “We don’t have a choice”. After the question is asked I went with the former response.
After a few insults, Wrex states that the cure of the genophage is closer than they think, stating that the females were experimented on revealing an inside source. Wrex wants his people back. The dalatrass eventually gives in and says that the females are on Sur’Kesh. Now it’s up to Shepard and Wrex to head to get the females on Sur’Kesh.
You’ll head into the squad select. From here I chose Garrus and Javik. Select your weapon loadout, then it’s off to step foot on Sur’Kesh. There will be a problem as you land. Initially you’re not cleared, but Wrex will make his own landing, plus throw a bit of biotics into the mix. Padok Wiks, a salarian, arrives to stop the incident. You can respond with “We can work this out” or “You should apologize”. The salarian will also ask that Wrex stay under guard. Since I’m paragon I’ll go with “Stay here, Wrex” instead of “Or else”? When the situation is calmed, ask about the krogan females.
Shepard will ask to see them. Padok will arrange it. Soon you’ll be in control of Shepard. Talk to Padok again and he’ll let you through, to see the female. He’ll direct you to the elevator. As you access the elevator, an alarm will sound. There’s some trouble in your future. Shepard will still head down the elevator to the labs to find Mordin, if he survived ME2.
He’ll show you the female krogan and you’ll find out he was also Wrex’s inside source to free the females. He’ll show the bodies of the ones that didn’t survive. Tell him he did his best. Shepard will talk to the female krogan. Tell her you’re the krogan’s last hope and that you’re here to save her people. After the conversation, the facility will be under attack. Wrex demands the female be sent up to the surface immediately or else there’s no alliance with the turians. Mordin tells Shepard to meet him at the next checkpoint as he uses to the lift to get the female to the surface. When you’re in control, grab the “Assault Rifle Extended Barrel I” in the room, where the shelves are.
ow head for the elevator that you arrived in. As you get closer, something is wrong with the elevator. The salarian will ask you to try opening it again. When the doors open, a bomb will be inside and it will explode taking out one salarian. Find the emergency exit. It’s found on the opposite wall in the room from the elevator. Access the door, then head up the ladder.
When you reach the top, open the metal doors, then hang a right. Make another right and you’ll be drenched in sun light as you see salarian troops fighting off Cerberus. The path ahead is linear, but you have two options. Stay to the outside on the left, or head into the rooms on the right. You can split your team up as well, having one be on the lookout near the balcony.
When the first group is dead, head for the shelf in the first room to grab a “Shotgun Blade Attachment I” . When you move up to the second half of the floor, more Cerberus troops will appear. Take cover, and eliminate them all. Check the second room before you head for the elevator to grab a med-kit for XP and some ammo found on the desks. When you’re done, head for the next set of sliding metal doors. As you open it you’ll see a yahg attack two Cerberus troops.
After the massacre, you’ll notice that a blast of fire bars your way. Hop over the opening to the left hand side right before the fire. From here, jump the gap, grab the “Shotgun Spare Ammo” in the corner, then jump out onto the other side, to not get singed by the flames. Move up the winding staircase. The path will turn left, with enemies who have deployed smoke. Take cover here, and take them out. The path will turn left again, resembling the previous floor you were just on.
On the right hand side, balcony level, you’ll see Mordin with the female krogan. Head to the console and the lift will go up once again. Mordin asks you to meet him at the next checkpoint. The lift will then get attacked. Take out the duo of enemies on the shuttle. Now move up to where the shuttle blew a hole in the wall.
Step on some plants, then head left. You’ll see some salarians in battle. There will be rooms on the left side you can use for cover as well as the containers used for the plants on the right side. The room on the left contains a “Pistol High Caliber Barrel I” on a shelf. Move up to the next area of this floor to take out another group. You’ll see a door up ahead. When all enemies are gone, access the door. It will turn left. From there, climb the staircase.
When you reach the top, you’ll see Major Kirrahe. He’ll draw the enemies fire as the enemy up ahead plants a turret. If you or any of your squad mates has overload, and armor-piercing rounds, now is a good time to use it. Grab some salvage on the crates, next to where the sprinkler is going off on the ceiling to acquire creds when the fight is over.
Now head up to the door with the red holographic panel. Use the terminal on the right and let it scan you. The door will open. Head inside and follow the hallway. Grab a med-kit on the way. Open the door at the end of the hallway. You’ll see a varren take out an enemy.
Take cover by the doors or you can creep your way up. There will be enemies that appear on the second floor, so take those guys out when you see them. When the foes in this room have been eliminated, search the first floor afterward to find “Armax Arsenal Greaves” on the desk. Head up to the second floor, then bypass the door to open it. The lift where the pod is will now be under fire.
Quickly move out and take out the enemies doing harm to the pod. As you head out, the room areas will be on the left side. Move up from cover to cover. You’ll pass the lift on the right hand side. Mordin will say that Cerberus has cut power and you’ll need to reroute emergency systems for it to progress.
Move deeper down the room. You’ll see red lights flashing along the walls down the corridor. Before you head down there however, go back to the desks to find a “Pistol Scope I” , plus a document to examine.
Use the med-kit next to the power conduit. Pick up the “Scorpion” in the conduit room first, then access the conduit. Go back to Mordin. As you emerge from the conduit room, another Cerberus squad appears. Take cover, and form a line of cover so that the enemies have no where to hide. Activate the panel next to the lift again when the coast is clear. After the conversation with Mordin and the female krogan, another squad drops down.
Take cover again, then take them out one by one. It’s time to get out of here. Head down the room to the door with the green holo-panel. Before you head inside, grab the “M-13 Raptor” in the sitting area to the left of the doors.
Open the doors, head through, jump over the gap, then climb the ladder. You’re now back at the beginning of the level. Take cover to take out the enemies down the stairs. Kill as many as you can, as quickly as you can, so the pod won’t take too much damage.
When the troops are dead, go to the console next to the lift one more time to authorize release. As this happens a mech, an Atlas, decides to drop down. Immediately take cover and aim for the pilot in the cockpit. Overload and armor-piercing rounds are your best friends here. The Atlas should go down fairly quickly using these abilities. Finally, there will be a last swarm of troops to contend with. Should be a piece of cake after the Atlas.
Wrex will fly in when the coast is clear to escort the female. Two enemy troops will arrive, but the female will pretty much decimate them with two shots from the shotgun. Shepard will try to talk to a wounded Cerberus agent, but will die.
Back on the ship, Shepard will talk with Hackett about the situation. Hackett then talks about the Prothean weapon, calling the project “Project Crucible”. And it’s well under way. You’ll then see the weapon being built and the massive scale of it all, impresses.
Victus and Wrex will be at it again in the meeting room. Wrex wants the cure distributed to every krogan before he helps the turians. Mordin will be on it and will also name the female krogan “Eve”.
Victus will then give you a mission regarding a missing turian ship and Wrex will give you a mission regarding a missing krogan team. Talk to each of them separately when you’re in control of Shepard. They’ll give you the details of each. The turian team is currently on Tuchanka and the krogran team will be in the Attican Traverse.
From here, you’re free to pursue more sidequests, talk to NPCs and gather war assets throughout the galaxy. The next mission up will be to rescue the turian squad.

Tuchanka – Turian Platoon
From the galaxy map, find the “Krogan DMZ”, then plot a mass relay jump, unless you’re there already.. Once you’re in the solar system, look for Tuchanka, then enter orbit. You might have another quest on the planet, but for this instance go the one that says “Downed Vesel: Extract Turian Survivors”. Choose your squad members, gear up and get ready to find the platoon.
As Shepard and crew fly in using the shuttle, he’ll ask EDI to see if she can communicate with Lieutenant Victus. During the wait, Cortez will say that he’ll have to land well back from the main crash site. Doing this will give you the jump on the enemies, however.
The shuttle then drops off Shepard and crew. He’ll ask EDI if she reached Victus. She says yes, but the connection is bad. You’ll hear Victus saying he’s pinned down by Reaper Harvesters and his squad is scattered around the crash site. Shepard will request he fire a flare to find his position. You’ll see it go off in the distance. From here it’s time to move.
Move forward through the rubble. Up ahead, grab the “SMG Magazine Upgrade” , then climb up the ladder bathed in a faint white light. When you reach the top, hang a left, past the fiery, crumbled path. As you get deeper, the debris will be falling down as dust. Javik will notify the team for silence up ahead, since there are enemies close by. It’s a group of 3 husks. Take them down quickly.
When they’ve been eliminated, head for the ladder, grab the salvage on the ground to nab 3125 credits, then climb said ladder. Upon reaching the top, Garrus will notice an escape pod. Unfortunately no one survived. Jump the gap to reach the downed pod. Pick up the “M-9 Tempest” next to the turian bodies.
Move left, past the pod. Jump over the concrete cover. Shepard will grab visual of the enemy with an escape pod just beyond. There are turians up ahead in for the fight of their lives. Move from cover to cover, then take out the cannibal up ahead.
This corridor is divided into two paths. You can take the brute force approach or you can set your team up to provide cover fire, while you flank. Whatever your tactics are, make sure the enemies are obliterated. When you get down the hallway far enough, you’ll be able to see the crashed squad.
On the right is a ladder you can take to get a field of view as well as a height advantage. Choose a tactic and soon a winged Harvester appears. It’s life consists of armor. Take cover, use armor-piercing rounds if you have it, and whittle it’s life away. When it’s gone, it will explode in a flash of light. You’ll see the turian squad move up ahead, then thank you.
If you didn’t already, climb up the ladder. If you did, drop down onto the other side. After climbing it, however, grab the “Sniper Rifle Spare Ammo II” . Move down the path. There will be some ammo you can collect, near a dead turian body. There are also some spare parts you can access to nab 6250 credits before you head into the tunnel.
Inside the tunnel you’ll find more turian bodies. Move to the darkest part of the tunnel, before you head into the light, to grab a “SMG Ultralight Materials II” and a “Phaeston” by another dead body. Now head for the light fixture inside the tunnel, then walk toward the red colored painting on the wall ahead. You’ll hear some noises. Climb down the ladder.
Keep moving forward inside this tunnel. Eventually, you’ll reach some cover where a fire is shining brighter than the others. You’ll get the jump on the enemy again. Start taking them out when you’re ready. This fight will be in a more open environment. Watch out for the shielded marauder. Overload his ass.
You’ll see another Harvester land near another crashed pod. Take cover now. Watch out for the husks that arrive with the Harvester. When the Harvester dies in another massive explosion, the turian team will rendezvous with you at the next crash site. Move into the next corridor. It has a little archway, which you can enter from. The path will lead you down. You’ll eventually have to drop down to another level.
Climb over the barrier, grab the “Hahne-Kedar Chestplate” near the wall, resting on a downed pillar, then move ahead to where the beams above are bent. Drop down again through the hole in the ground. Follow the path through. You’ll see the marker for Lieutenant Victus appear. In this corridor, you can access a flight recorder and grab a “Shotgun Smart Choke” . Move forward down to the opening that leads outside.
As you leave the indoor confines, husks will drop down. Take them out, then grab the salvage from one the dead turian soldiers to get 3125 credits. Climb the ladder and slide down. The fire is bright here. You’ll be fired on immediately. Take cover along the barriers. The light from the fire will be at your back.
Along with cannibals, there will be a Harvester up ahead. Take some shots at it, but it will fly away. Hang a left to see more crumbled cover you can utilize. Take out the marauder. Maneuver your way around the pillars. The Harvester is ahead in the distance. Keep taking shots. Only this time, it will fire back.
Take out the remaining enemies in this section as you whittle away the next Harvester. When the group of enemies in the area are gone, Shepard suggests that the team move to get to Victus faster. Grab some ammo along the way. Head for the crashed vessel in the distance. However, the path will make you turn right. You’ll find a med-kit on the right side after a small drop. Keep moving down, dropping from platform to platform. You’ll find a “Sniper Rifle Extended Barrel II” on the left hand side of this corridor.
Up ahead will be the last fight. There are tons of cover to use as well as rocky pillars to hide behind. The enemies will swarm here by dropping in, so hold the line and take them out as they come. There will be cannibals, marauders and a brutes. A Harvester will also appear. For now, focus on the brute. On a side note, toward the right side of this battle zone, there’s a weapon called the Reaper Blackstar . If you can grab it, it will take out the Harvester in one hit, but you’ll only be given one shot, so make it count.
When all enemies are gone after the intense fight, follow your squad. They’ll head up to Victus. When you get close enough, a cut-scene will trigger. It will show Lieutenant Victus tending to his crew. Although one of his crew will grab him by the collar and say it was his fault, the team got decimated.
Ask the question, “What did you do?” to get more insight, then reply with “Bad calls happen” or “Get over it. Paragon, renegade respectively. Victus will then say he must abandon his current mission because his team has lost over 30 men. Shepard will ask about the mission. Victus will say there’s an enormous bomb on the planet and they were the team that was sent to defuse it. Now Cerberus has the bomb.
Shepard pleads with Victus to finish his mission, since, well, it’s a freaking bomb. He calls on him to rally his troops by appealing to their honor or conversely, kicking their asses. They’ll listen, and Victus will ask for your help. Shepard will agree. This leads to a sidequest. You can pursue it if you wish. It’s probably best to through.
Back on the ship, Hackett and Shepard converse about the bomb and will ask Shepard to talk to Primarch Victus about the bomb. Tell him that trust is everything in the whole scheme of things. Mordin will then enter the war room saying that the genophage cure is synthesized, but can’t figure out how to deploy it. Ask him “Any ideas?” From here he’ll say to disperse the cure using The Shroud.
When you’re in control, Admiral Anderson will be available on vid-comm. Chat with him to get updated on the situation. When you’re in control again, feel free to pursue other sidequests and gather war assets. Before we release the cure on Tuchanka, there’s a matter of the krogan team that needs investigating.

Attican Traverse – Krogan Team
To find the missing krogan team head for the galaxy map, then use a mass relay to catapult the Normandy to the Ninmah Cluster. Fly out of the Maskim Xul system, then head for the Mulla Xul system. When you enter Mulla Xul look for the planet, Utukku, then enter it’s orbit. Squad up, gear up, and let’s find that team. I’ll stick with Garrus and Javik.
Garrus will ask for an update. Shepard says that back up is waiting in the form of Aralakh Company, krogran commandos. Since Javik is on the team, he’ll talk about the rachni and how they were used as weapons during his time. When the shuttle touches down, you’ll meet an old friend, Grunt. That is, if he survived ME2. They’ll do some catching up, then get back to business.
Grunt says the tunnels should lead to a large central point. When you’re in control, enter the building to your left to grab the “M-300 Claymore” , a “Pistol High Caliber Barrel” and some salvage to acquire 1625 credits. When you’re done, walk down the rocky path amidst the surrounding, craggy mountains.
There will be two buildings up ahead. Grunt will the on the right. The building on the left will have a weapon bench as well as a “SMG High Caliber Barrel” . Take a look at the drop to the bottom, while you’re inside. Now head to Grunt. Talk to him. From here you can investigate further about what Grunt has been up to. When you’re done talking, enter the building ahead.
When you’re about half-way in, the weight of the building will shift and it will collapse into the valley below. Everyone will be okay, but you’ll now have to traverse the tunnels ahead. Move past the crates to enter the opening that leads into the tunnels.
There will be webbing ahead blocking your path. Grab the “M-451 Firestorm” from the dead krogan and use it to crumble the webbing. Keep following the tunnel down, destroying another wall of webbing. Drop down, then proceed ahead. It will be dark, so you’ll turn on the flashlight.
The path ahead will hug the wall on the left side. The cliffside will emanate a turquoise light from the bottom. Along the way, you’ll find more web walls. Some of them will contain upgrades, but not the initial ones. Eventually, you’ll see spores block your path. Burn them to get through.
Up the ramp, will be more spores and web walls. To continue forward, break the web wall on the right side. There will also be another dead krogan near the spores so you can pick up a fresh firestorm. Move through the opening you just created. Walk over the pool of water, then burn the next wall. You’ll be in a bigger chamber. Drop down. A ravager will attack as soon as you drop. Take cover, then take it the heck out. It’s highly armored and very powerful. Only take shots at it when it’s not firing. Husks will also be on the offensive here.
Also in the distance is a device glowing purple that creates a shield. As you move up going from cover to cover, destroy it. After the fight, search the chamber near the backside wall to find a “Shotgun Shredder Mod III”. Now head for the plateau where all the spore pods are. Burn them, then move forward to the next set of spores. Press “V” and you’ll notice some reaper tech, in the form of a huge pillar. Destroy the spores, then the web wall to continue.
You’ll be traversing through turquoise hued liquid again. The path ahead is blocked. Destroy the web wall in this room and destroy the Reaper node to open the way ahead. You can also pick up another firestorm. After the barrier has been destroyed, the wall will go away. Burn the next web wall, then head through. The ceiling will collapse during the cut-scene.
When everyone comes to, you’ll be in the dark again, but nothing a flashlight can’t handle. There will be two paths to take, one through the liquid and the other up a ramp. They both lead to the same place, but you’ll still have to contend with the spores. When the two paths funnel through to the next area, destroy a web wall before you enter the next portion to grab some salvage, Reaper tech.
When you move forward, round one of the corners. A husk will attack. There will be an opening ahead. But before you head out, one of the web walls contains a dead krogan with a note telling someone to send it to Ereba on the Citadel. Something to do later.
When you reach the opening you’ll notice three Reaper pillars sticking out from the walls above. Drop down from the platform toward the neon liquid. Take cover on the rock in the middle of the liquid. More enemies will be landing. There will be another ravager, husks and a shield device. If the ravager comes close and most of the support is dead, burn it.
Take the left path along the liquid. You’ll see another shield device. When you do, more enemies make their presence known. Take them out especially the ravager. Head past the skewered husk and head to the left side. You’ll see a trio of dark tunnels. Move along the left side to find “Shotgun Spare Ammo” .
As you make your way down this path, the spore pods you were destroying earlier have become gestation pods. When you pop one, a little critter will emerge, so you’ll need to take these little guys out as well. Drop down to the next level, then eliminate all the pods as you move forward. The path will narrow a bit and turn right. Another firestorm and more pods will be in your future.
The winding path will turn left, past a waterfall. Jump the gap, then destroy the eggs highlighted by the low fog. Head up the rocky ramp, past the waterfall to grab “Ariake Technologies Shoulder Guard”. Keep moving up to destroy more pods. You’ll reach a gap, where you’ll jump across the path of the waterfall. Head left down the narrow tunnel. You’ll see some Reaper tech up ahead along with Grunt and his team fighting. You’ll see Grunt toss a ravager down a hole.
Follow the winding path as it takes you left. Burn two web walls, drop down, and you’ll see a device up ahead in the middle of the room. Grab the med-kit and the “Pistol Piercing Mod” by the dead krogan. Destroy the device in the middle of the room. You’ll see Grunt and his crew arrive. You’ll have a chat with Grunt. He says he’ll hold the fort, while you move on ahead. Move up to the next chamber and destroy some pods. Behind the pods will be some Reaper tech. The path ahead will turn left into a narrow passage. Examine it to crawl through.
When you reach the other side, you’ll see a creature up ahead inside the central chamber. When you drop down, Reaper walls will come up from the ground. To open up a path, look up, find the power node, then destroy it. One of the walls will come down.
Husks will be right in your face when the wall comes down. Take cover by the rock on the water, then pick off the enemies in the distance. If you peek out from the left side of cover, you’ll see a group clustered up next to a power node. The right side might pour out some husks. In any case, dig your feet in and take out the enemies.
Inch your way up to the power node across the water. Face the glowing circle of the node and destroy it. You’ll now be where the enemies were and the enemies will be where you were. Take cover and kill all the enemies that get close. The cover to the left and right of the node are good positions.
Take out the ravager and it’s support crew. When they have been squished, run across the water, back to where you came from. One of the other walls has opened. Take cover and you’ll see more enemies up ahead across another pool of water.
The node is in full view. Take out another ravager and it’s support crew. When they’re toast, head for the node, then destroy it’s center. Take cover again as two husks and a ravager approach from across the pool of water you love to splash your feet in.
When the enemies are dead, Grunt will notify you that the rachni are backing off. The last wall will then drop and you’ll see the rachni queen. From here, will be a pretty big decision. Will you let the queen die, or give her time to escape? If you give her time to escape, Grunt will leave his team to join you, but in the process, will have a chance of sacrificing himself. His team will die.
Grunt will make a path through and lead Shepard and crew to safety. A slew of ravagers will appear, but Grunt says he’ll hold them off. You’ll watch one kick ass krogan kick some ass.
As Shepard makes it to the shuttle, during my experience, Grunt emerges from the tunnel, broken and bloodied, but alive. Hackett will then have word with Shepard on the Normandy trusting Shepard’s instincts about the rachni situation. You’ll also gain additional krogan support. Wrex will then talk to you about missing the fight. It’s time to cure that genophage!

Priority: Tuchanka
It’s time to head back to Tuchanka. Head to the Krogan DMZ by way of mass relay. Fly the Normandy to the planet Tuchanka, then click on the point on the planet with the tag, “Shroud Facility: Cure the Genophage”. Joker then reports that hostiles are already at the landing coordinates. It’s a Reaper. Shepard wants everyone in the War Room now.
Mordin states that the Reaper is using the Shroud to poison Tuchanka’s atmosphere. Wrex is ready to fight and Shepard requests the help of Victus. The plan is to have the turian’s hit with an airstrike, while the krogans will hit from the ground. It will hopefully be drawn away from the tower. When everyone is on board with the plan, the dalatrass will appear on the vid-comm. She knows about the plan and gives Shepard doubts.
The dalatrass will state that there will be a malfunction in the Shroud that prevents tampering. You can keep this information to yourself and make it look like the Shroud malfunctioned on it’s own. You are now armed with this information. The dalatrass will even give you troops and scientists to help with the Crucible if you let the Shroud break on it’s own. The choice will be up to you. Now choose our squad, gear up, and let’s roll.
The squad will chat on the shuttle. You can reveal what the dalatrass said right now, when Eve asks if you’re troubled. For now, for my character, I’ll say nothing. You’ll get another chance later on. As soon as the doors open, Wrex shoots a husk in the face.
When you’re in control you’ll be in a temple of sorts heading down the stairs. A group of husks will be on the offensive. Show them who is boss. The husks will come in waves, so take them out as they come. When the husk horde is over, Wrex will step in and start to rally the troops. One of the krogans will question the presence of a salarian. You can ask “What clan are you?” before choosing either “He’s saving your people” or “Fall in line”.
Wreav won’t trust Mordin, but after a nice heatbutt, Wrex says to trust him, because he does. After a bit of hostility, Eve speaks out and let’s everyone know about the situation at hand. At the end, she’ll ask who will join her in this fight for the the krogan’s future. You can answer with “Count me in” or “Everyone had better help”. It’s time to kill that Reaper.
The krogan ground forces have been deployed as they make their way across the terrain on vehicles. The turian airstrike is almost inbound. Inside the vehicles, you’ll get another opportunity to say what the dalatrass said. Since I’m going Paragon, tell the group what’s going on. After telling them, the vehicles will stop because the road ahead is impassable.
Shepard and crew will get out of the vehicle and the camera will pan toward the Shroud. When you’re in control, head to the stopped vehicle directly in front of you. Grab the “Shotgun Smart Choke III” , “Death Mask” , “Pistol Melee Stunner” and the “Pistol Magazine Upgrade I” near the rubble. By the railing, grab the “Graal Spike Thrower” . Afterward, talk to the krogan scout by the rubble. He’ll say the road is out.
Shepard radios the turian airstrike telling them to hold until the convoy can roll through. Unfortunately, they’ve already locked on. One of the turian air units is struck and comes careening toward the convoy. The convoy will take off leaving Shepard behind, under his orders. When you come to, head toward the entrance to the ruins. Jump over the gap, then up the ramp.
Drop down, then move down the ramp. It gets very dark down here. Shepard will turn on the flashlight. Move down, then take the path to the right, past the fallen pillar. It will wind it’s way down to the left. When you reach an even level, look for the tunnel that leads you down from here. The other room on the left, doesn’t lead anywhere. As you make your way down the stairs, the ground will rumble.
Drop down the path, then head left up the broken pathway. Make a right into the next tunnel. Eve will also mention Kalros, the mother of all thresher maws. As you walk through the tunnel, look right on the wall to see some paintings. You can examine them to grab 8250 credits. Keep following the dark tunnel. It will turn right, then left. You’ll see a rachni at the bottom of the stairs.
Take the stairs up. You’ll see daylight. Head left to climb some more stairs and you’ll be outside in a part of Tuchanka that has plant life. Head slight left, past the shrine. You can take the path on the left by the plant with the water flowing down, or you can go down by the rocky area where the ammo is. It will lead to the same place, where enemies will appear.
Take cover when you see the enemies. You’ll meet up with some cannibals and two ravagers. Take them out using your arsenal of moves. When the enemy is down, another quake happens, and the marker to the trucks appears. Head toward the marker, by hugging the left side wall. You’ll reach a bridge, which you need to jump across. Take cover at the first barrier you see.
More enemies will be on approach. Mostly cannibals at first, and then a brute and some husks during the second wave. Equip any armor busting abilities and take out that brute. When the wave is over, move ahead to where the enemies came out from. The path will turn left. You’ll see a stream of water flowing across the ruined floor.
Hang a left, hug the wall, and climb up the platforms. You’ll see a dust devil up ahead. Take cover by the huge, flat slab of stone as another wave of enemies approaches. When the first wave is defeated, a second wave consisting of husks appear. There will also be two ravagers. When they have been taken down, head toward the pillars. You’ll see statues of krogans as you cross the bridge. You’ll also see the convoy drive underneath along with Kalros in pursuit.
Make your way across the bridge, hang a right, then a left. You’ll see more krogan statues up ahead. Follow the stairs as they go up and down. As you make your way up, take cover by the triangular structures that look like they used to be fountains. Kill the cannibals that arrive as well as the husks. Blow them back with shockwave if you have it.
When the enemies are destroyed, head left, then drop down, platform by platform, down to the dunes. The convoy will pick you up, but Kalros is still in chase. The vehicle with the crew will now be headed to the Shroud.
As you get closer to the Shroud, you’ll notice that the Reaper there is huge. To provide a distraction and help, Eve’s plan is to summon Kalros to fight against the Reaper. Eve mentions that there are two hammers in the arena. Activate both of them and Kalros will come. Meanwhile, Mordin says he can synthesize the cure in the lab just up ahead.
Before the last stretch, Wrex will make the name Shepard mean hero. You can pull off a paragon action here, inciting some bro-mance. Wrex will take on the ravagers that appear in the rear and it’s now your job to ring those hammers.
When you’re in control once more you’ll see more enemies landing in explosive fashion. Take cover, then take them out as they come. See those stairs on the left hand side? You will need to go there after the fight. Show the cannibals the taste of bullets. When they have been defeated, head up those stairs. They will turn left. When you reach the top, turn right. Along the way, grab the “M-5 Phalanx” and some ammo.
Cross the bridge ahead by jumping the gap. The Reaper will fire it’s laser collapsing the bridge. The Reaper is very close now. Head up the stairs and immediately take cover when you can. The Reaper will be firing lasers. You’ll also see the markers of the hammers. Move from cover to cover avoiding the laser. If you get hit, it’s a one shot kill.
You’ll eventually reach the piece of cover in the center that will trigger a cut-scene. As the Reaper is about to fire, the turian fleet will provide a distraction. Move ahead and run down to the arena, where all the statues are looking over you.
Take cover immediately because a wave of brutes will arrive. You must pick your battles here because the brutes will continuously drop down. Take out the brutes only if they get in your way, otherwise make a run for the hammers. Pick a side and head there. When you get close to either hammer, keep an eye if the shadow above you is getting darker. One of the legs of the Reaper will come crashing down. If you feel it coming, stop, so you can minimize the damage. When it raises it’s leg, run ahead to activate the hammer. Do this once for each hammer.
When you activate the second hammer, Kalros will be called and an epic battle of giants will ensue. As the battle engages, Shepard will head to Mordin for the cure. Kalros will take the Reaper down. Shepard will find Mordin and he’ll say that the cure is ready, but says that he needs to take the elevator up to disperse the cure.
This is goodbye. But before Mordin takes the elevator, you can trigger a paragon action still pleading him not to do it. Mordin will say goodbye. You’ll see Mordin at the top of the tower disperse the cure as the top of the tower explodes. He starts singing as he does it. Later buddy, I’ll miss you man.
In the aftermath the krogan now have hope as a species as you see the Shroud collapse. Wrex and Eve will say thank you and say sorry about Mordin. Wrex says they’re ready to fight now. On the Normandy, Hackett talks about curing the genophage and that Wrex will be helping the turians.
Victus thanks Shepard for the krogan help and therefore, the turians will help earth plus help build the Crucible. Garrus will suggest Shepard get some sleep. It’s time for another dream sequence. Keep following the boy just like the first dream sequence.
When Shepard awakes Liara will talk to Shepard. Tell her that you’re thinking of some friends who have been lost, especially Kaiden. Liara will then tell Shepard that the salarian councilor wants to talk to you about Udina. He says that Udina is moving vast amounts of money around. It’s time to find out what’s going on. You can also talk to Hackett from here. When you’re done, finish up any quests you have on the Citadel. Things will change after the next mission.

Priority: Citadel 2
As you try to dock on the Citadel to meet the salarian councilor, something is wrong. Alliance control isn’t responding. You’ll find out that Cerberus has taken over the Citadel with a transmission from Thane. Get ready to squad and gear up. I’d recommend using someone that has stasis, since you’ll be facing a new enemy, Phantoms.
As the shuttle passes by you’ll see Cerberus troops on the attack including an Atlas. You’ll land in the hangar bay as you see Cerberus troops taking out alliance troops in “Lot 9”. Jump out of the shuttle and immediately take cover. The stairs up ahead lead to the door you need to get into. From the walkway, there are paths that branch out. You can use these paths to flank when you get the chance. Just dig in and slowly move up to the door.
It’s a long fight full of normal troops, and centurions. When the fight is over in the hangar, head to the door and talk to Commander Bailey. His plan is to re-take C-Sec HQ. He’ll open the door for you.
When you make it in, Bailey will sit down on the computer to set up the network again. As he sets it up, a message comes in with a warning from Councilor Valern, saying that the likelihood of betrayal is high. Udina is then mentioned as a betrayer, but that’s absurd right?. You’ll launch a rescue of the councilor when the conversation ends. It’s time to head to the executor’s office.
Wrap yourself behind the desk around the corridor into the next room. Thane keeps you updated. Enter the door, then enter another door. You’ll enter the lobby up ahead featuring brown seats. The door up ahead in the lobby consists of two Cerberus agents. Get the jump on them.
When they’re done for, enter the room, then take cover behind seats, as you aim in the direction of the stairs on the left hand side. Take out the guardians as they come down along with any stragglers. Head up the stairs to fend off more troops.
On the left side of the room, resting above some desks, you can grab a med-kit and an “Assault Rifle Piercing Mod” . Now head to the door with orange holo-panel, then bypass the door. Head through this buffer room with the sprinklers going off then enter the next set of doors.
When they open, you’ll be in a breakroom of sorts. You’ll be confronted with more troops as the water cascades down. Take these guys out. From the entrance, near the tables, is a green holo-paneled door you can enter. It’s the restroom. Inside, grab the “M-76 Revenant” .
Head back out to through the archway. Grab a med-kit before you proceed. Up ahead is a door with a red panel. You cannot enter through here yet, but to the left are some broken windows you can hop over. Take out the Cerberus trooper here. Grab the “Sniper Rifle Extended Barrel” . There’s also a workbench.
Shoot the latch off the panel, then access it to open the door. Hop back out the window and head into the previously locked door. It leads to an elevator. Use the panel on the elevator to get it moving. When you reach your destination, make a right. It will lead to a hallway that hooks left.
The door ahead, down the hall will be stuck. Search the rooms on your left and right. The left side will contain a “Pistol High Caliber Barrel III” and a “Securitel Helmet” . The rooms on the right will contain some terminals, plus a “Pistol Piercing Mod III” . Now head down the hall into the right most room.
Enter the door that leads down another hallway with two Cerberus troops occupying it. Take them down. Move down the hallway. It will lead to a door on the left. Take cover by the pillars as you move up from cover to cover. On the right side will be a kitchen. You can find some credits resting on a counter top and a med-kit on the wall.
As you head toward the workspace area, the glass will shatter, revealing enemy troops. Hold the line here as the enemies get whittled away, then head inside the next door where the sign reads “Executor”. Head up the stairs. When you get close, a cinematic will start. You’ll find out that the executor and his two bodyguards have been killed.
As Garrus looks down on the floor below, the squad finds the councilor alive using camouflage. Kai Leng will enter the fray, however, looking to kill the councilor. As Kai Leng is about to use a finishing blow, Thane steps in to interrupt the fun. During the cool fight scene, Thane will be severely wounded and Kai Leng escapes.
Shepard and crew then take a shuttle to follow Kai Leng. Bailey says he’s probably heading to kill the rest of the council. Kai Leng then jumps on Shepard’s shuttle and disables it, sending it on a crash course.
As the team comes to, they’ll be in a civilian district with shops all around. Move forward and use the planters for cover. The enemies will be far off in the distance with some that close in. You can use the stairs on your left side to flank them or to get in close.
You’ll be fighting the phantoms here. If you have a party member that has stasis use it on them now to freeze their agile selves in place. Keep pushing forward and watch out for snipers. You’ll see a fire in the distance up above on the high left side. Jump over the gap.
More enemies will appear. Stay in cover behind the vehicle and take out the troops as they come. It’s best to be a bit patient with the phantoms running about. When the enemies are taken care of, move forward toward the broken displays on your left side. You’ll head inside an opening.
Make a right through the window, drop down, then make a left as you step on the plants. Hop over the barrier, then make a slight right as you drop down. Jump over the fiery, smoky gap, then make a left into the next area. Grab the credits on the crate before you head through the narrow passageway. When you emerge from the other side, the store, “Snap, Crackle and Shock” will be to your left and an Atlas will make itself known. Take cover and aim for that cockpit housing the the trooper.
When the Atlas is downed, more troops will follow suit. Move down to meet them head on. Use the planters for cover as you make your approach. There are another set of stairs here on the left you can use to flank as well. When the enemies are done for, head up those flanking stairs and head inside the door.
You’ll see Kai Leng entering an elevator. Your squad does the same in the adjacent elevator shaft. Bailey then turns the elevator on. It will ascend. You’ll catch up to Kai Leng. Shoot the power conduits beneath the elevator to send it crashing down.
Phantoms will then appear on an adjacent elevator. Shoot the power conduits here as well on the top of the elevator. You’ll find out as you head up, that Kai Leng has survived. Destroy the next elevator as it comes down. When you see the next elevator, containing the councilors, hop on to it. The passengers, the councilors and Ashley will think you’re Cerberus.
Shepard and crew will meet Ashley and the councilors. Udina will say that Shepard is working with Cerberus. Ashley will be a bit confused. Reassure her with “You’re making a mistake”. A paragon interrupt will occur. Hit it and Shepard will explain further that Udina is behind the attack.
Udina moves over to override the lock, but Ashley steps in and tries to make Udina step away from the console. Udina then pulls a gun, initiating a renegade interrupt. If you’re paragon, let it go, then Ashley will shoot Udina.
The doors will then be breached and Bailey will be on the other side. Apparently the Cerberus troops disappeared and Bailey states that Shepard just saved your (the councilors) lives. Afterward, you’ll see a conversation between Kai Leng and the Illusive Man.
Back on the Citadel, Shepard will be having a chat will Bailey. From here, when the conversation is over, you’re free to look around the Citadel again with new quests to find and pending ones to pursue. When you head back to the Normandy, a familiar friend will be just around the corner.

Priority: Perseus Veil
Head to the far rim on the galaxy map. It’s on the top right of the Milky Way Galaxy. From here, head to the quarian envoy ship, then dock with the vessel. The quarians will board the Normandy telling Shepard that they attacked their homeworld to take control over the geth, which was a council violation.
The quarians drove back the geth, but it seems a signal from the Reapers have given the Reapers control over the geth. It’s your job to disable the signal. And it’s on a geth dreadnaught. The Normandy can then fly in undetected. Once the plan is thrown into action, you have the option of letting the quarians retreat once the signal is turned off or, tell them to counterattack.
Tali will then appear volunteering to give her technical expertise. You’ll catch up with Tali a bit during a cinematic. If you romanced her in ME2, there will be some dialogue options letting her know that you’re still interested. When all is good to, head to the Perseus Veil to disable that dreadnaught.
During this mission, Tali must be in your party, so choose whoever else you wish to partner up with. When you’ve made your selections, you’ll begin your infiltration of the dreadnaught via a docking tube. As you fly in, you’ll be surrounded by a huge battle.
Joker notifies you that the docking tube is badly damaged, so Shepard will need to go on ahead solo for now. The rest of your squad will play catch up. After the conversations, you’ll be all by your lonesome as you make your way to the airlock in the distance.
From here, you’ll need to maneuver you way through the tube by using your gravity boots, looping your way around the tube. Since there’s no gravity you can walk along the cylinder. Follow the path toward the airlock. When you get to the end of the tube, the doors will open.
Drop down, hop onto the beam, then make a left to the panel to grab a “Shotgun Smart Choke”. Hop back onto the beam and head toward the orange light. Drop down to the panel, hop onto the next beam underneath where the steam is being released from a pipe. Follow the path as it heads right. You’ll find a ladder. Climb it.
When you reach the top, make a right, jump over the gap, then open two sets of metal doors. Look for the ladder on the right side. Climb it and access the docking controls on the panel. The door down the pathway will open as you join up with your squad. Tali will find a pistol named the “Arc Pistol” . It’s good for taking down geth, since you can charge your shot. Pick it up for this mission.
Tali will then open the door behind the panel. Enter the doors and wait for Tali to open up the other side. When it opens you’ll see a panel ahead of you with a “Sniper Rifle Enhanced Scope II”, with a huge piston behind it. Follow the walkway that heads right. It will loop around the piston. Hit up the bridge controls to activate it. Once this happens, geth troopers will appear. Take cover, it’s time for some action.
Use that new pistol you just procured to take them out. A fully charged headshot can take certain troops down in one hit, especially those pesky rocket troopers. As you cross the bridge you activated, more troops will be inbound. Destroy them as they come. When the second wave is gone, follow the ramp down, to climb down the stairs.
When you reach the bottom platform from the ladder. Look left. You’ll see a geth in the distance under a tunnel of huge metallic beams. Head that way, but take cover right before you pick it off. More will appear, so take them out. Head through the tunnel. As you pass them by, watch out for the trip mines.
Follow the platforms. It will lead to a door. Open it. You’ll enter a “break-from-the-action” room. On the right side of the room, grab a “geth pulse rifle” , then head through the next door. Tali says the operation center is just up ahead. You’ll be put into cover as geth hunters begin their attack. The hunters can appear invisible, so watch your flank. Hold the line and pick off any that get too close.
When the wave is dead, head to the opposite side of the room to check on the console. You can press “V” to guide your way there. To the left of the console is a “SMG Scope II” and to the right is some salvage where you can grab some credits. Unfortunately the Reaper signal can’t be shut down by this console, you need to find another way. Tali figures out the signal is coming from the drive core. Shepard will find a path through.
As you move out, more hunters will enter the operations center. You’ll see the door where they come out from. After the battle, that’s the door you need to go to, to continue. Enter the door, then run down the hallway, to bypass the next door. Head left after you make your way through the door. The platform will wind around the room. Take the ladder down.
Continue heading down the platforms using the ladders. As you make our way down Tali notifies you that Admiral Koris’ ship crash landed. Saving him will be a mission you can partake in after this one is over. When you head down as far as you can go, grab the med-kit before heading through two sets of circular doors.
You’ll be on a grated platform with a console in front of you. A huge shockwave will pass by. Go left or right down the ramps. They lead to the same place, the huge corridor you will need to traverse. When you reach the bottom, turn right and you’ll see the length of this corridor. When the shockwave passes by, you’ll be hit and your shields will go down. To prevent this from happening, take cover. You’ll need to keep an eye on the shockwave.
Make your way down the long stretch of corridor. As you move forward, you’ll be attacked by waves of geth. Keep pushing forward as they drop one by one. Time your movements when the shockwave is cooling down. Eventually, on the right hand side, you can head up using a ramp that leads to a platform. You’ll be safe from the shockwave here. Exit down the opposite end and use the other ramp. Up ahead is the deactivation console. Access it to shut down the shockwave.
Activating the console opens up a door that leads to the core. You’ll walk through some rings on a platform that lead you there. Make a run for it because the absence of the shock wave won’t last for long. Make a left and climb the ramp. The door will close behind you and your squad will be safe.
Move forward, then head right. You’ll see a lot of walkways ahead with ladders that lead up to them. Since the shockwave is back online, you’ll need to move from cover to cover once again. Take cover and watch out for the rocket troopers on the second level. The best path to take is the second level.
Do not go into the narrow pathway where rocket troopers will make mince-meat out of you. Instead, look for the ramp that leads to the second level. Don’t use the ladders, unless you’re not being fired on. As you make it to the top of the ramp, take cover and take out all the geth you see.
Follow the path down, the opposite direction the shockwave is travelling. Climb down the ladder, then immediately take cover. Take out the next wave of troops down the corridor as you keep moving up from cover to cover. When you reach the end of the path with dead geth troops in your wake, make a left up the ramp. It will lead to a door you’ll need to bypass. It goes to the core.
When you make it to the next room, access the panel on the lift. It will go up and a geth trooper will shoot the lift. As it tilts, about the fall, run to Tali to survive. Follow the path up the ladder. When you reach the top, keep turning left. You’ll reach a door on the right. You’ll be inside the drive core.
The core will open, revealing Legion, if he managed to survive in ME2. He asks for help, but Tali says he might be under Reaper control. Choose to help him out or not. Legion will tell you what the machine does. Essentially, if Legion is removed, the Reaper signal dies, but you must shut off a control box in the far side of the room.
Head up the lift that your team rides. When you reach the top, acces the “Data Core Override” on the left side panel. This will free Legion as he heads below to the lower level underneath the core. As this happens, geth troopers will be on the move toward your position.
Hold your ground here. A geth prime will be a part of the enemy squad. It uses shields and armor. You can hug the left side wall for a better flanking position if there’s too much firepower up front. Careful of rocket troopers as well. As the battle progresses, you will need to turn right anyway, so use the flanking path when necessary.
During the fight, Admiral Gerrel would like to destroy the dreadnaught that you’re currently doing battle in. For now, just focus on the geth. After taking them out and moving around the core, Legion will still be down below the core. Head down the ladder to greet him. The quarian fleet will then fire on the dreadnaught.
Legion will escape on his own. When you’re in control, the “Hangar” marker will appear. Head across the platform and through the doors, nicely set up in front of you. Shepard will fall from one platform to the one below when you reach the bridge. Follow the path as it heads up. You’ll see Tali. It will begin a cut-scene as the team leaves in a geth fighter.
On the Normandy, you’ll be in a briefing with Hackett. Hackett wants the quarian fleet for help. In the war room, the admirals will be bickering about the decision to destroy the dreadnaught. Agree with the admiral or not.
From here you’ll be notified of a mission to rescue Admiral Koris. Legion will also enter the room. Admiral Xen says she want to study Legion. You can paragon interrupt her at this time if you’re going that route. When the higher brass leave, Legion will notify you of the location of a server where geth fighter ships are controlled. You can head here as well to disable the fighters.
You can choose either one, Admiral Koris, or the geth fighter ships, to continue to the next mission, but choosing one, won’t negate the other. You can still do both before doing Priority: Rannoch.

Rannoch – Geth Fighter Squadrons
On your way to Rannoch, Admiral of one of the quarian fleets says that a geth fighter squadron is on an intercept course with said fleet. Legion fills you in mentioning that you need to interface virtually with the server to extract geth, therefore entering their consensus.
The shuttle will land on Rannoch as Shepard and crew enter the facility housing the server. From here, you must enter a pod to interface with the consensus. You’ll automatically enter the pod and the mission will begin.
Okay, so this mission isn’t a by the numbers, take cover, shoot anything that moves mission. You’re equipped with a gun that shoots floating strings of blocks that represent data paths in virtual geth space. You’ll also be traveling on glowing tiles that turn into platforms as you keep proceeding forward. Yes, it’s a bit weird, but the mission is pretty straight forward and you’re also never in any danger.
Once you interface, Legion tells you, you must sever the connection as you make your way through. When you are in control, follow the path that leads you down. Tiles will emerge in front of you creating a path. Keep following the path.
Eventually you’ll hit a barrier with the tiles underneath glowing red. This means you cannot continue, unless you do something about it. Notice the glowing string of blocks barring your way? Use the gun to destroy the blocks. You can either tap the trigger or hold it, which will deplete the ammo faster. However, the gun regenerates ammo. Once you break it, the tiles continue.
Keep moving forward and break any blocks in your way. The paths might get a bit confusing, since they look alike, so keep an eye out for any glowing turquoise tiles ahead. These indicate the direction that you need to go, and where new tiles will be created.
Soon enough, you will establish connection and a beam of light will come up from the blocks. Enter that beam of light to enter the next access point. When you move to the next area, it’s the same as before for now: move along the tiles, and break blocks that get in your way.
The path will stop eventually as the tiles flash red. You’ll need to access a data cluster to continue. Notice the huge block made up of smaller blocks behind you? Break it open, by aiming for the glowing blocks around it. A path makes it way around the data cluster. When you get enough blocks, you will access a data cluster and you will see a historical data in holographic form.
When you’re finished watching, move to the path that was blocked before. The tiles will highlight themselves leading you to the next path. Keep breaking blocks to continue. You’ll reach another data cluster. Break that as well for another holographic memory.
After watching, follow the glowing tiles once more to continue. You’ll need to head up the stairs. If you get lost, hold “V” to get your bearings and look for those glowing tiles. When you reach the top, Legion will access a data cluster. After the conversation, head into the beam of light to access the next area.
A cut-scene will ensue where Admiral Raan mentions that the geth squadron has arrived, but the geth have stopped functioning. When you come to, follow the tiles. You’ll reach a block that regenerates itself, no matter how many times you destroy it.
To get past this, you must follow the data string that’s barring your progress and look for a glowing code segment that leads to the barrier. This will interrupt the flow. After interrupting the flow, shoot the barrier and you’ll be able to head through.
The rest of the level consists of this kind of small puzzle solving. Whenever you reach a regenerative block, look around you to destroy the blocks that lead to the one you need to get through. Eventually you will be led to a data cluster that regenerates. Destroy the segments that lead to the cluster to open it.
After the next piece of historical data, follow the path to the next area. Remember, look for the glowing tiles to lead you through. Another data cluster will be in your future. Do what you did with the last data cluster to crack it open. When it’s finished, you’ll see Legion playing another piece of historical data. When it’s done playing and Legion is finished talking, head to the access point in the middle of the chamber.
You’ll see the geth troops collapse. When you come to, run to the exit point, and you’ll see yourself exit out of the pod. It’s mission successful, the geth fighters have been disabled. You’ll also have some geth troops on your side.
Back on the Normandy, you’ll be talking with Admiral Xen. After the brief conversation, Admiral Raan notifies you that they have located the Reaper base. During the conversation, you’ll make a stand whether or not you feel that the geth need to die or not.
From here, you can finish up Priority: Rannoch, but don’t forget about rescuing Admiral Koris if you wish to. If you do attempt to rescue him however, he’ll be a good source of leadership to the quarian fleet.

Rannoch – Admiral Koris
Since you’ve already landed on Rannoch, it’s time to head to another region of the planet. Click on the mission to save Admiral Koris. Choose your squad, gear up, and choose your skills if you need to.
The rescue of Admiral Koris is important since he protected the quarian civilian ships. Without him, the noncombative quarians were planning to leave the flotilla. Chat with Admiral Xen about Koris and what he means to their people.
As the shuttle makes it’s way to the tower, cannons will be firing upon the vessel. You need to take out the anti-aircraft guns on foot. You’ll touch down in what looks to be a dry, rocky, desert area. Move forward past the stone structures. You’ll pass by the water on your right hand side. Up ahead, you’ll also see a fire in the distance.
Head up the path to the fire. You’ll see geth troopers by a crashed pod. Take them out, since you have the jump on them. Continue through the wreckage. Watch out for the trip mine. Move up ahead to grab the “Javelin” . You will also be able to see the tower in the distance.
Follow the path down. It will wind it’s way to more wreckage. You can actually stay up here and take out the geth down by the crash site from a distance. With either tactic, destroy the opposing geth.
As you head down to the second crash site, more geth will appear, dropping from orbit. Take some cover, since a rocket trooper will be part of the pack. When the enemies have been demolished, make a left by the crash site. You’ll hear the cannons up ahead. Eventually you’ll see the anti-aircraft guns. Take cover on the metal walkway and shoot the geth down as you head to the tower.
When all the troops are gone, head to the control panel. You’ll need to choose which squad member you want to shut down the tower. The person you’re left with, will be the one who will help you defend as the other disables the gun. After you choose, geth troops will be converging on your position. Take them out as they come. Be prepared for a geth prime.
When the AA gun is down, more troops will appear from a path in the distance, including a hunter. Take them out, then head to the path where they came out from. Climb over the rocks, then head drop down to the next path. Pick up a “Shotgun Shredder Mod” along the way. You’ll also see a surviving quarian who sent out the distress call, Dorn’Hazt.
He’ll tell you about what happened to the ship. He requests that you look for the admiral and he says that he’s lost a lot of blood. He will pass away after he tells you to tell his son he made it to the homeworld.
Hop over the rocks, then grab the “SMG Magazine Upgrade II” . There will be two AA guns you need to take out. One to the left and one to the right. Choose a side.
Each side will have troops you need to take out. When they’re gone, you’ll need to choose which squad member will disable the gun. There will also be another defensive stand, but in this case, both sides will have a mountable turret you can use for added firepower, especially against the primes.
When you transition to the next AA gun, there will be a slew of troops, that emerge. Use the turret to clear the way.
After you’ve taken out both AA guns, Shepard will signal the shuttle to take out the tower. Admiral Koris will then try to contact Dorn. Koris wants Shepard to save his crew instead of him. You’ll have a decision to make. He will be heistant, but to convince him you’ll have to use a paragon option responding with “We need a peacemaker”.
After much debate, Koris will agree. He’ll send his coordinates. You’ll need to cover Koris with a turret on the shuttle as it flies around the battle ground. You’ll need to fight off two waves. You’ll see Koris jump onto the shuttle to safety. He tries to contact his crew, but, sadly, they don’t respond.
Koris then talks to Shepard via comm-chat on the Normandy. After the conversation, you’re free to take on any quests you have to do. When you’re ready, it’s time to prioritize Rannoch.

Priority: Rannoch
It’s time to destroy that Reaper base on Rannoch. Tali must be a part of your squad for this mission, so choose a team member that balances out the team. To infiltrate, Legion recommends using the upper entrance. Legion will head out first on his own mission. From here, Tali surveys the planet. She can’t believe she’s on Rannoch.
When you’re in control, it’s time to focus on the mission at hand. You’ll see Shepard and crew survey the base from some rocks up high. They drop down and immediately take cover behind some metal pipes and barriers. The geth will notice and start shooting.
As you proceed from cover to cover, the path will lead down into a hallway that you’ll need to enter. Take out all the enemies that oppose you as you move ahead to that hallway. As you near the hallway entrance, the door closes down hard. More troops will arrive. Take them out. After they’re done for, you’ll need to find another way up. Look for the pipes to the right of the now closed hallway and climb up.
Take cover as soon as you reach the top of the ladder. You can take either the left or right one. Geth troops will be waiting including some rocket troopers. There are a couple of paths that lead up. There is a ladder to the left as well as more pipes you can climb on the right side. Both can flank the enemy. When the enemies have been downed, head toward the opening where the steam is coming out from a trio of pipes.
Before you climb the ladder that leads up to those pipes, look behind you to grab the “Kassa Fabrication Gauntlets” . When you reach the top of the ladder, climb the pipes up to the grated platform. You’ll have barriers on the sides and metal crates to use for cover.
Since you’re on the top level you can use this to your advantage. Geth troops will flood the bottom floor. Set your team up at the top so they can get fired upon. There’s a path on the left that leads to a walkway along some pipes. You can use it to flank as the enemies are occupied by your squadmates.
When you get the jump on them, it should make the fight easier. When the geth enemies are down, drop down a level, then head for the door with the green holo-panel. it will lead to a room that leads to a ramp, that leads outside to some more walkways. At the “T” intersection, head left to grab a “SMG Ultralight Materials III”, then head back the other way to continue.
As you move along the walkway, more geth troops will drop in. Keep pushing forward. Use the cylinders on the sides for cover. The fight will continue down the walkway into a corridor where crossfire will occur on the left side balcony. When the fight is over, grab the “Geth Plasma Shotgun” before you head into the doors.
Follow the corridor after you head through the doors. You’ll enter another set of doors that lead to a room full of pistons. The path will head left and turn into a “U” shape. Use “V” to see your objective, the “Override” panel. Watch out for fire from the opposite side of the walkway.
Push down the path and take out any hostiles. Use the “Override” console so Legion can use it to bypass systems. Immediately take cover, since the objective now is to survive. Ride out the wave, then use the console that appears on your waypoint. This will open the blast shield doors.
A lift will come down. Unfortunately a geth prime and a rocket trooper will arrive on the lift. Take them out, then head up the lift. When you get to the top of the lift, you’ll need to head to the ledge that’s marked as a waypoint. There’s a geth prime directly in front of you with two more on the left and right.
This can be a tough fight, since the primes use shields and are highly armored, plus there are freaking three of them. Make sure to take cover and gain some distance away from them. Be sure to also pick up the “Geth Spitfire”, which can take down the primes faster than your normal weapons.
When the primes are down, head outside to the ledge. You’ll be equipped with a targeting laser that will demolish the highlighted target inside the shaft. The Normandy will come and blow it up, then Shepard will fall because of the explosion.
Unfortunately, a Reaper emerges from the hole you just blasted. When you’re in control, run left to the “Hovercraft” waypoint. As you take off in the fighter, you’ll be on a mounted turret. Aim for the Reaper as it flies around it. The bullets are no good, but an orbital strike will hit the Reaper and temporarily disable it.
Legion suggests to leave since it’s currently disabled, but Shepard decides to take it down once and for all so the quarians can survive on Rannoch. Shepard wants the targeting laser linked up to the entire quarian fleet. Now it’s up to you to laser target the Reaper.
Boss Fight: When you come to, it’s you versus the Reaper. Aim for the weak spot where it shoots the laser and the targeting system will zero in on your tag. Each time you make a successful target, the Reaper will come closer.
Remember that when you target the Reaper, the gun will keep the lock from the laser designation, so you can continue it as you hold down the “left mouse button”. This way you can focus on dodging the incoming lasers, since they are one shot kills, and when there’s an opening you can use the opportunity to aim the laser at the Reaper.
The Reaper will come ridiculously close to you, but with the final hit, time will slow down. Be quick and aim for the weak spot, before the Reaper shoots it’s laser. All the quarian ships will fire and take down the Reaper. The Reaper will warn Shepard that they cannot win.
Now comes a very difficult decision or a really good one. Legion would like to upload the Reaper code into the geth, but Tali says that if they do it, the quarians would be destroyed by the geth.
You’ll have to choose between the quarians and the geth. The options are “Upload the code” or “We’re letting the geth die”. I personally chose “We’re letting the geth die”, but Legion will still plead to Shepard that with the upgrade they could assist with the Crucible. From here, I had a paragon choice “Rally the fleet”, renegade choice, “Warn the fleet”, plus the two original options, “Upload the code” and “Let the geth die”. I chose the paragon option and in the aftermath, both the quarians and the geth survived, which seems like the best outcome.
Legion will upload the code and the fleet will stand down. In the end, Legion must sacrifice himself to give the rest of the geth a new existence. From here, the geth and their creators, the quarians, begin to rebuild. Tali wll also remove her mask and breathe the Rannoch air.

Priority: Thessia
Before heading off the Thessia, the asari councilor would like to see you at the Citadel in Udina’s former office. She explains to you that she knows the Crucible is missing a key component, The Catalyst. She mentions an artifact on Thessia that only the highest members of the government know about. If luck follows you, the artifact should be a means of finding the Catalyst. She gives you coordinates to the temple where it’s housed. A science team will also meet you there.
The planet of Thessia is completely under attack. Jokers says that it’s looking pretty dicey. Liara must go with you since it’s her home planet. Pick the other member of your squad to accompany you, then gear up and get ready to head out to find that artifact.
Shepard asks more about the artifact from Liara. She says that the artifact can be found in the Temple of Athame, which is several thousand years old with government funding. After the shuttle conversation, Cortez flies in to the rubble that is now Thessia. Follow the rubble as it leads down to a platform. You’ll see asari troops.
Before you talk to Lieutenant Kurin, look to where the dead bodies are to grab an “Umbra Visor” , and some supplies. As she talks, the front line of their defense gets bombarded and they lose a soldier. She tells you to use the mounted gun. Climb on top and let the bullets fly. Brutes and husks will be charging toward you from the bridge. Take out the shield generator as well that’s powering the enemies up.
After helping out Kurin, Shepard says he needs her help. You’ll have three options, “What are your orders?”, “I’m looking for an artifact” or “Just follow your orders”. Tell her that you’re after a relic inside the temple. Kurin wants to move her people out, but Liara says that if the team doesn’t get to the temple, Thessia will be gone.
Tell Kurin about the Crucible. She’ll question whether it can finish the job. It’ll give her some hope as Shepard says it’s the only shot they’ve got to survive. Kurin will then open the bridge for you. As you run along the bridge a group of harvesters will be flying above. Head forward to Outpost Tykis.
About mid-way across the bridge, you’ll see enemy troops. Take cover on the sides of the bridge and start firing until they’re gone. You’ll be fighting cannibals and marauders.
When you cross the bridge head into the tunnel with the fire blazing up ahead. Follow the path right. When you emerge from the other side, you’ll be on top of some stairs with Reaper enemies on the bottom. Take cover by the railings, then kill the wave that approaches.
Head down the stairs. You’ll see more Reapers dropping down from the sky. Take cover behind the rubble and take them out from a distance. Move ahead to the staircase next to the planters, by the fountain. This will trigger more enemies to drop. Take cover by the fountain, then take them out.
From here, you can see a door, bathed in orange light, far off in the distance with a green holo-panel. That’s where you’ll need to go when the fight is over. Once the enemies have been taken care of, head up the stairs. Another group will drop. They just won’t stop dropping.
Head up the stairs, toward the rubble. Right before Liara mentions the door ahead, more enemies will drop, including a Banshee. Keep your distance from this abomination. She has two layers of health, a barrier and armor. She has a dash maneuver when she gets in close, plus a scream and an energy ball that can do some damage. If you need to, back up and pick her off as she slowly gets closer. It’s going to take some firepower to take her down, so when the other enemies are dead, throw everything you have at her. There’s also a “Hydra Missile Launcher” next to the stairs and small bridge that leads to the door. One hit kills.
Now finally, head through the door when the Banshee is dead. If you want, you can keep this missile launcher until you see another Banshee, although, you’ll need to drop it, then pick it up again during regular fights, but it will be worth it.
Head up the ramp after you pass by the door. Follow the path through all the rubble that leads to a door you can bypass. It will lead down to a plaza. You’ll also see a giant Reaper up above. In the distance, you’ll also see asari snipers. Head toward them. A rocket will hit their position killing one of their troops.
Climb the platform by way of rubble on the left side to reach them. On the platform you can grab a med-kit, a “Sniper Rifle Concentration Module III” , and a “M-98 Widow” . Take cover by the barriers on the platform and take out the reapers on the bottom as they gather by the fountain. There’s also a barrier engine on the wall you’ll want to shoot.
After the fight, climb down the ladder or the ramp, then head through the broken wall, next to where the barrier engine was. Past the wall, turn left, then climb up the terraces. When you reach the top, a soldier from Outpost Tykis is on the retreat. They couldn’t reach the scientists. Shepard wonders about the reinforcements. Tell her that you’ll need their help so they can punch through. She’ll call a gunship and Talon One and Five fly in for support. One of the ships will go down.
You’ll be in cover with a Banshee on the way. If you saved that missile launcher, use it on the Banshee now. It will go down in one hit. After that you can focus on the rest of the Reapers as you continue to push forward. Watch out for the Ravagers that are giving fire support. When the first wave of enemies have been defeated, climb up the terraces as it leads up toward the rubble.
When you reach the top, shoot the spore pods, then take cover by the make-shift barrier across the water. The gunship will still be supporting you. To the right, next to the rubble on fire, grab an “Assault Rifle Extended Barrel III” . Push forward on this path, while taking down enemy troops including husks, ravagers, marauders, cannibals and a lovely harvester. Give that harvester everything you got and don’t forget to take out that shield engine next to it.
After the intense fight, the platform will lead to the temple. Liara will access the panel to shut down the shields. When you head inside, you’ll see the scientists have been killed. Take a look around to investigate the artifacts. Access the panel underneath the statue to trigger a cut-scene. Shepard will feel that the statue is a Prothean Beacon.
Liara talks about data streams and as this happens one of the rocks emits an energy beam that heads toward the statue. From here, investigate the artifacts to find more connections. The connections are the manuscript on the left side of the statue, the bust on the right side, and the shield where the entrance to the temple is. Now access the beacon. A Prothean VI will appear, but will attempt to leave because of a Reaper presence.
Shepard asks for help about what the Catalyst is, but before the VI answers, Kai Leng enters the fray. He says that the Illusive Man would like to talk to you. There will be a paragon or renegade response stating “We need to work together” or “Listen to yourself”, respectively. As you talk, Kai Leng seems ready to fight. After the conversation, the Illusive Man wants Leng to take the data from Shepard.
Boss Fight: It’s time to fight Kai Leng. Take cover by the rows of seats and use any powers you can that are able to stun him. Stasis is good as well as overload, since he has shields. When he’s stunned, fire on him.
Periodically, as Leng gets hit, a gunship with a blinding light will fire on you, so he can recharge. Repeat the process. Stun, damage him, and the gunship will cover Leng as he heals. After about three rounds, Leng takes down Liara and Garrus as you charge in. Kai Leng then calls in the airship to target the supports of the temple.
This will make the floor collapse as Kai Leng grabs the data from the beacon. As he’s doing this, Shepard climbs up from the collapsed floor, but as he’s about the fall, Liara grabs his hand to save him. Kai Leng escapes with the data.
The position that Kurin was holding is under attack as Shepard and crew see a Reaper touching down. Shepard hears the cries of the soldiers left behind. Back on the Normandy, Shepard can’t seem to muster the courage to answer an incoming call. He answers it eventually with the asari councilor on the other line. With a heavy heart Shepard states the mission was a failure on Thessia.
Shepard is tired of Cerberus beating them to the punch and asks if anyone knows where they’re hiding. Traynor says that she tracked Kai Leng’s signal, but lost track. She says something is interfering with the signal. EDI states that Sanctuary is near that interference. It’s time to head to Sanctuary.

Priority: Sanctuary
After picking your team and gearing up, the shuttle will be flying toward Sanctuary on the planet Horizon. You’ll find out that the facility was devoted to aiding refugees from Reaper-controlled systems, but the facility went offline without any communication.
But Shepard wants to find out what exactly is going on down there. A signal will then be heard coming from the facility. It’s Oriana Lawson, Miranda’s sister. She says the facility is not what it seems. The connection then cuts out.
The shuttle will drop you off in a plaza right in front of a main staircase. There seems to have been some battles going on with the make-shift barriers littering the place. Head up the stairs, and you’ll see a Cerberus vessel go down because of a Harvester.
As you move past the wreckage, planters and fire, Phantoms will appear. Don’t let them get close and use any abilities you have that are able to stun them. Up on the balcony is a nemesis with his trusty sniper rifle. A combination of overload and singularity works if you can utilize it.
Head to the doors ahead underneath the crashed Cerberus shuttle. Bypass the panel to open the doors. Explore the inside of this huge room. You’ll see Cerberus shuttles from the tower above through the sunroof. Explore the workspace near the stairs, then head down to the bottom floor. By the crashed vessel, you can grab some logs. Near the wall that says Sanctuary, are dead troops.
Immediately up ahead by the monitors on the ceiling are more Cerberus troops. Get the jump on them, since there are only four. When they’re gone, pick up the “Pistol Scope” near the desk. Head through the door right next to the “Y” on the Sanctuary sign on the wall. You’ll come across a panel with Miranda’s recording. If she survived ME2 of course. Otherwise, it will Oriana. She says that Sanctuary is a Cerberus facility run by her father.
Follow the corridor that leads outside to the planters next to the water pump. Activate the water pump and the water from the pool will drain. Climb down the ladder, then head toward the door. When you enter, follow the corridor through. You’ll find a “Rosenkov Materials Shoulder Guard” , by the last door.
It will lead into a control room. There’s no power in the room, so access the console in the middle of the room. It turns on all the monitors on showing the refugees being experimented on, turning them into husks. Shepard turns on the lights and looks outside the window, revealing a horde of husks. Exit the door on the right and be ready to take out some husks.
Head down the stairs and access the console to see Miranda’s recording. Keep going down the stairs to the metal, oval doors. Head through and take out the husks in the room. Back up if you need to. Follow the stairs down. You’ll see a door that you can open, plus an entrance to the left. Both lead to the same place, but the doors can be used to flank.
A Banshee will appear. Focus your fire on her if she gets close. Otherwise, take out the marauders on the balconies and the ravager ahead. Move through the room when the enemies are dead. There will be an opening on the left. You’ll see a Banshee through a window. Enter the door next to the Banshee. Activate the console to hear more of Miranda’s recordings. There will also be some research data by the desks.
Head up the stairs. When you turn left from the top of the stairs, two doors will be open that head to the same room. The room where the refugees were experimented on. Take cover by the doorway because there will be a lot of enemy troops here. Take out the shield engines for an easier time. Also, since the space is a bit tight, use shockwave if you’re able to. If you head to the right side, you can find a “M-12 Locust” on one of the desks as well as a “Shotgun Blade Attachment III” .
At the end of the experimentation room, access the console with the dual monitors to get some background about the experiments. After some insight, a ladder will drop down. Climb the ladder, head up the stairs, and turn right. More enemies will be in the vicinity. Take cover and watch out for the ravagers in the distance. Keep moving down the room over the grated walkway. There are also flanking paths on the left and right.
Head down to the room to the open door when all is clear. Follow the walkway to the next door. Jump the gap, then hop onto the moving platform. Shoot the panel on the platform, to get it moving, then jump to the next walkway. Head through the door.
The camera will focus to the right showing an attacking brute. Drop down to the singed floor. When you do, a brute will come crashing down. Take it out fast before the other one appears. You’ll need to kite it if they start backing you up into a corner. You’ll also have to contend with a Banshee. Yay! Take out the brutes first, then the Banshee.
After that intense battle head into the control room where you first saw the brute through the window. Head through the door in the room, then use the elevator to go up. When you get to the top, you’ll see Miranda, and her father using Oriana as a hostage.
You’ll both have a chat. You’ll get four dialogue options, “You’re legacy?”, “I just want Oriana” and the paragon and renegade options, “I can be reasonable” and “I will hunt you down”. I used the paragon option, and Mr. Lawson let’s Oriana go. Miranda on the other hand doesn’t let him go. No deal.
Miranda thanks you for being there. It’s finally over for her. They can stop running. Miranda then says that she placed a tracer on Kai Leng. This will lead right to the Illusive Man and Cerberus HQ.

Priority: Cerberus HQ
Head to the Horsehead Nebula in the Anadius system to reach the Illusive Man’s base, Cronos Station. Before heading to the base, Shepard will contact Hackett. He says when they attack Cerberus, the fleet will need to move in. This will start the gears of war. When you’re ready, tell Admiral Hackett on the vid comm.
If you’ve been romancing a squad member, this will start the romance part of the evening. Afterward, it will also trigger another dream sequence as you chase after the child from earth.
During the approach, Joker states that there are a ton of fighters on the base. Shepard asks if they can get in. EDI then states that she must go. Shepard then tells her to go to the shuttle. Cortez will fly the shuttle into the hangar, crash landing in the process.
When you’re in control, you’ll be behind cover over the mess you made. Move down the hangar, while taking out the Cerberus troops. There’s lots of cover here with a lot of flanking routes, so you can spread your team out if you need to.
Watch out for centurians, regular troops and an Atlas. If you can, hug the left side wall and in one of the bays, you can find another Atlas. If you can’t make it without dying, take out the troops the old fashioned way. Watch out for the nemesis on the left side balcony.
When the enemies are dead, the facility will try to vent the air. EDI needs a console. Head up to the room above with the windows. There’s a ladder that leads inside. Access the panel and EDI will stop the vent. Shepard will ask EDI if she can open the hangar. She’ll say no, but she’ll have access to the fighter launch controls. When she does this, a Cerberus fighter rises up.
When you gain control, troops will flood the room from the other side. It’s a tight space so shockwave will work well here. When the enemies are gone, head out to where they came from. As you turn right on the balcony, more enemies will be incoming. Use cover, then start aiming for their heads, especially that nemesis.
After the fight, follow the balcony to the metal doors. This will lead to another console that changes the rotation of the fighter. Head down to the fighter, using the ladder, then access the console highlighted in red, right next to the ladder you came down from. The fighter will take off, creating a hole in the wall.
An Atlas decides to show up with some friends. Take cover, take it out, then head through the wall where the fighter went through. Walk past the fiery wreckage, then Shepard will ask EDI to bypass the door. You’ll need to enter a sub-level to get where you need to go. Climb the ladder down where the room is bathed in red. I’m sensing danger here.
When you reach the bottom, take cover by the pipes and barriers. It’s a bit hazy in here due to all the steam. Take out the troops that come along. The room will turn right. Head toward the yellow light, or better yet, the nemesis in the distance in front of a pair of vents. When you reach the vents, find the ladder, then climb it. EDI will bypass another door.
EDI also mentions that the console in front of you contains details about “Project Lazarus”, the project that brought you back to life. There will be consoles like this scattered throughout the rest of the level. When you’re done watching, EDI will open the door. Follow the corridor. You’ll walk past flames and be lead down to a lower level. Make use of the ample amounts of cover provided. Take out the turret, then hang a left down the way.
You’ll reach a section of the room with shield engines, turrets and energy barriers the troops are using. Take your time, and take out those turrets. Methodically move from cover to cover down this hallway. Keep pushing forward. The hallway will force you left to another defense line of turrets and troops. Take them out as you go.
When they’re done for climb the ladder up. It’s presented like a beam of light coming down from the sky. When you reach the top, there’s another console you can use while EDI bypasses the lock. You’ll be in an experimentation facility.
If you didn’t go to Grissom Academy, there will be a log on one of the beds talking about Subject Zero. It’s Jack if you didn’t visit her, and you’ll find out she’ll be captured and experimented on. When EDI bypasses the lock, another one will be in the next room. When she bypasses that, follow the path to the next door. It’s a goodie room. From here you can grab a “Delumcore Overlay” , ammo, a med-kit and another log.
When you’re done, head back out and look for the shaft with a broken wall with pipes and wires colored in a blue hue. Your team will jump down. You’ll enter a huge room with grated walkways as paths. You’ll also see the final boss you faced in ME2, decommissioned of course.
Follow the grated walkway. More Cerberus troops will be incoming. If you didn’t save Jack, she’ll appear as an enemy Phantom. You’ll have to take her out. Keep following the walkway while taking out the troops and shield engines. Be mindful of the Phantoms.
You’ll reach a ladder at the end of the walkway. Climb it, then keep climbing up. More troops will converge on your position. Careful of the nemesis down the walkway. With the enemies taken down, climb the ladder at the end of the walkway. Open the door, then head left past all the consoles. Grab the ammo. There’s also consoles you can use to access more logs.
Head through the next door. Run across the bridge and you’ll enter the Illusive Man’s office. The oh so familiar office with the huge, red giant through the window. The Illusive Man will make an appearance in holographic form. As you talk to him, you’ll get three options asking about the Catalyst. They are “So what is it?”, “You’ll never change”, and “I can’t help you anymore”.
If you asked the question, you’ll be faced with the last two responses as well as paragon and renegade options. “It’s not too late to help me” or “You’re in this for yourself”. After the Illusive Man is finished talking, you’ll be with the Prothean VI. Shepard then asks what the Catalyst is. The VI says the Catalyst is the Citadel and the Reapers have moved it to Sol. As Shepard asks EDI to contact Hackett, Kai Leng interrupts.
Boss Fight: Kai Leng will come charging in and break apart the tiles on the floor. Ooooh, fancy. When you’re in control, he’ll be right in your mug. Stun him as soon as possible, then start taking shots at him. Do not let him get too close. If you do, you’ll trigger a cinematic fight. Keep tapping “F” as this happens.
Periodically, Kai Leng will regenerate his shields, breaking more tiles on the ground. As he does this the second time, troops will drop down for support. From here, use the trench he created the first time to take some cover with your squad. Take out the troops from here, then focus on Kai Leng when you get the chance.
His life will start to whittle away, so just keep at him. It’s important to take his shields down. Watch out for Phantoms that appear later on in the fight. When all the enemies are gone, just focus on Leng. He’ll go down quickly without any shields.
When he’s down, Shepard will access the computer. Leng will still be alive and creep up on Shepard from behind. This will trigger a renegade action. If you’re paragon, just leave it alone and Shepard will stab Leng right in the gut with his omni-tool. That’s for you Thane!
The Prothean VI will start talking and give you a renegade and paragon interrupt. The renegade one will appear first. Shepard will get a call from Anderson. It’s time to end this once and for all. It’s time to take the fight back to Earth.

Priority: Earth
This is it. It’s time to head back to Earth. Admiral Hackett requests to come aboard and gives an inspirational speech to the troops as a montage of the other fleets get ready. Before hitting the Citadel, Shepard’s team needs to drop down in London first to take out the Reaper cannons. To head up to the Citadel, you’ll need to ride a beam that’s located in London.
It’s time to choose your team that will join you on this last stand. Choose your gear and level up to get ready. The Normandy, backed by the entire fleet of united races pushes through the Sol relay. It’s a staggering amount of vessels. The battle will commence in orbit versus the two opposing sides. The Normandy then breaks off to the surface passing by the planetary battle.
Inside the shuttle, Joker fills you in on the situation and Cortez informs you that you’re about to reach the LZ. One of the shuttles riding with you, gets taken down. It was the squad responsible for taking down the turret. Shepard will tell the team to drop now, to take down the Hades Cannon. You’ll need to search for the heavy weapons of the crashed vessel.
When you land you’ll be on the bottom of a hill with the Reapers attacking on top. Periodically, you’ll see the Hades Cannon fire in the distance with a blinding light. That’s your destination. Stay in cover, dig in and push up the hill when things get less dicey. When you reach the top of the hill you’ll climb some stairs and be lead out to a plaza next to the street. Keep pushing forward down the street when you reach it, although you’ll now have to face brutes. There’s also a building you can enter across the street where a fire is burning. You can use this area for cover as well, plus you’ll get some ammo.
When the wave of enemies have been taken out, head up the rubble on the right side of the road, up toward the building. As you move up the building, Cortez will be hit by a harvester, but he’ll be okay. Take cover when you reach the top of the building, then take out the Reapers in your way. The Hades Cannon will be right on top of you.
The crashed shuttle of the heavy weapons team will be on the right side of the building. A Ravager and some support will be there as well. Take them out to clear the roof, then grab the “M-920 Cain”. Aim at the cannon and let the round fly. It will destroy the cannon in explosive fashion and let Hammer team land. Shepard then calls in for extraction.
It won’t come right away, so dig in and survive until the shuttle arrives. You’ll be faced with husks, marauders, cannibals, ravagers, and a lovely Banshee. These guys aren’t kidding around. The groups will be clustered fairly close together so if you have shockwave, use it for some crowd control.
Soon enough, Major Coats calls in and tells Shepard they are ready to extract you. When it’s relatively safe, jump into the shuttle from the roof, and Major Coats will greet you. Anderson will also be on the shuttle. You can trigger a paragon action here by giving him a hug. After a lengthy conversation, you’ll see Hammer drop down from a mass of shuttles and clear the way, not without causalities however.
The shuttle carrying you will land at base camp. Anderson says to come see him when you’re ready. From here you can explore the base and talk with your teammates one final time before the final push. Hold “V” to locate Anderson. On the way, you’ll meet Ashley on the street. Talk to her. There will be door next to her that leads to a comm tech that can reach contacts inside the building.
Head back out, make a right and climb the rubble toward the bridge. When you head out to the bridge, you’ll man the turret and take out the Reapers below in an explosion of meaty body parts. After defending the area, move along the bridge, head through the door and follow the rooms up the building. You’ll see Wrex inspiring the krogan. The room past Wrex will be the Anderson’s. Talk to him and tell him you’re ready to start the attack.
Anderson will address the situation and lay out a plan. When Anderson is finished talking, Shepard calls his entire crew, the ones you’ve got to know throughout the trilogy, and gives one final speech. It’s time to choose the two on your crew that will fight with you to the end.
You’ll see the Makos roll in with Anderson leading the charge as you see turians, humans and krogans fighting alongside each other. When you’re in control, you’ll begin in a ruined building with two cannibals directly in front of you. Take them out, along with their back up. Head through the building, then drop down. You’ll see the Makos push on. Head toward the beam.
The Mako will get destroyed in an ambush. Take cover, then kill the Reapers next to the building. Move past the disabled Mako through an underpass. More Makos will drive by. Head to the next overpass. A Harvester will fly down going toe to toe with the Mako. Take out that Harvester along with the troops supporting it. Eventually, another Banshee will come crashing down from the sky, complicating things a bit. Keep your resolve and take out the group.
Head to the building directly in front of the Mako. From here you’ll need to clear the stronghold. Enter the door inside the building. You’ll enter a parking garage. Husks will charge at you. Take them out as they come. They’ll be followed by a couple of brutes. Move through the parking garage, up the ladder. Take the ramp up and kill the reapers on the second floor apartment building including a ravager. Hammer will thank you when the job is done.
A door will open inside the apartment. Enter it and some husks will attack. Melee the crap out of them, then follow the hallway down onto the street. Look down the street and you’ll be faced with more enemies. Push your way through as you pass by dividers and wrecked cars.
Move down the street and a ravager will emerge along with more reaper troops, including a brute. Take out that ravager, then the brute, then the ground troops. The street will lead to a warehouse. Enter it, then eliminate the troops inside. When the warehouse is cleared, follow the building out, back to the street.
When you reach the street, or in this case a street trench, kill the reapers ahead inside the building by the telephone booths. Enter that building, a restaurant, then head through the door into another room with more enemies. Clear this room, then head out into the alleyway with an ample supply of dumpsters. Take out the enemies in the alleyway with your favorite friend joining in the fun, the brute.
When all the reapers have been demolished, walk over to the narrow passageway, toward the fire in the distance. A brute will tear a hole through the wall, with another brute just behind. Back up here, then take them out from a distance. Now head through the hole in the wall they created, then exit the door.
ou’ll watch a cut-scene where a number of teams will be attempting to take out a giant Reaper. Fire support will not come for them as the teams lose their lives. You’ll exit out to the street. You’ll be given the task of securing the missile battery, the vehicle right in front of you with the rockets ready to be deployed. All you need to do is take out the enemies in the vicinity.
Keep note for later that there are buildings you can enter on the left and right side of the street filled with ammo and med-kits if you need it. And you’ll need it. When you take the first group, Coats will say that the beam is interrupting with the guidance of the missiles. Shepard asks EDI if she can do anything about. She’ll say that she might be able to use the Normandy’s systems to enhance the missiles’ targeting capabilities. Head to the launcher controls to open a link. From here, you need to defend the battery.
The first wave consists of husks, marauders, and cannibals. The second wave on the left flank will consist of cannibals, marauders, and two banshees. This is when things start to get intense, as in, you can die easily if you’re not careful. After you’ve survived the second wave, head back to the truck to activate the missiles. The missile will fire, but it won’t work because the Reaper is still too close to the beam. You have two missiles left.
You must now defend the other missile battery. The third wave will consist entirely of brutes, about five or six of them. Keep your distance and grab ammo if you need to. The store on the left side of the street contains a missile launcher behind the counter.
Save that missile launcher for the Harvester that decides to drop down and make your life difficult. It should go down in one hit. The fourth wave will consist entirely of Banshees and marauders. Like the brutes, keep your distance. Keep your team away as well. The Reaper Destroyer firing the laser is close, and he’ll target you too, so use the buildings for cover.
Eventually, the missile controls will be ready. Run to the controls as fast as you can and activate it. The missiles will destroy the Reaper destroyer. From here Shepard tells the squads to hit it with everything they got. Anderson then joins Shepard. He says more Sovereign class Reapers are headed to the beam. It’s time to head to the Citadel.
As the Makos make their way toward the beam, the Crucible will be escorted through. Shepard and crew will be at the crest of the crater that leads down to the beam. With Reapers inbound, making a landing right next to the beam, you’ll have to run for it and make one last push to the beam. Keep running through all the epic chaos. The screen will go white.
You’re still alive and you’ll hear on the radio that the entire team was decimated. You’ll get up and limp toward the beam. Three husks will try to stop you. Take them out in slow motion. Keep moving toward the beam, then take out the marauder.
Eventually, you’ll reach the beam and head up to the Citadel. You’ll be among a pile of dead bodies. You’ll hear that Anderson has made it. When you get up, keep walking forward past the bodies. You’ll eventually head up a ramp that leads to the controls.
Anderson will be there along with the Illusive Man with a new coat of Reaper paint on him. During the conversation you’ll have four responses, “Don’t do this”, “Control is pointless” plus the paragon and renegade choices, “You don’t get it” or “We’re not the enemy here”.
You’ll then be presented with four more options, “You can’t be trusted”, “Then end it” and the paragon and renegade choices, “And what if you’re wrong?” or “So what are you waiting for”? Shepard questions whether or not the Illusive Man can control the Reapers. Anderson then says to the Illusive Man that he’s indoctrinated.
In the aftermath of the conversation Shepard meets the Catalyst and he’ll give you three choices: Destroy the Reapers and all synthetic life, create an entirely new life form, or take control of the Reapers. The choice is up to you. Watch the ending you have chosen in this epic trilogy.
