Sonic returns with his pal Tails to help him traverse the treacherous stages. Text Walkthrough
SYLVANIA CASTLE ZONE
Act 1 – A New Frontier
Spin dash forward to collect coins and hop onto the next ledge above you, then bounce off the spring ahead to clear the gap and continue moving forward along the elevated track.
Jump the next gap and approach the neon wheel in front of you, then spin against this device to get it turning and drop down the next wall ahead.
Hop your way up the ledges ahead and stop in front of the boost contraption standing beside the loop-de-loop, then use tail to ascend straight up into the air and land on top of the track structure.
Break open the ring box and launch off the spring in front of you to clear a gap through a waterfall, then use homing strikes on the next four flying enemies to land on the ledge ahead and continue forward.
Launch off the next spring ahead to land on a series of springs below that will bounce you off the floor and ceiling, then use the boost contraption to dash straight up the wall and grab onto tails while in mid-air.
Fly over to the next ledge above and drop to the ground, then dash forward to run straight down a wall and across a lake of water.
Jump onto the enemy ahead and land in the boost contraption to continue dashing across the surface of the water, then hit the next ramp to launch yourself into the air and push forward to clear the spike trap below.
Use homing strikes while in mid-air to attack the next three flying enemies ahead and land on a checkpoint marker, then enter the boost contraption to dash forward and around the loops in the track.
After you pass through a log tunnel, use another spin maneuver to turn the neon wheel ahead and drop down the next wall above.
Continue forward into the next opening to pass through the booster and speed around the loop ahead, then using homing strikes to attack the enemies floating above the water and grab onto Tail to reach the opposite ledge.
Turn the next neon wheel ahead to open the ceiling columns above, then jump up between the ledges and land on the golden platforms.
As the two golden platforms cross each other, jump to the uppermost one and wait for the block to appear on your right.
Use the block that extends to reach the next ledge on the right and continue forward, then enter the next booster to dash straight up the wall ahead and through a series of log tunnels to complete the act.
Achievement / Trophy Unlocked: The Adventure Begins (Bronze): Clear SYLVANIA CASTLE ZONE, Act 1.

Act 2 – Sunken Ruins
Spin dash at the start of the level to make your way down the hill and smash through a series of barricades, then hit the next ramp ahead to fly into the air and push forward to clear the spikes below.
Land in the water to sink to the ground below and approach the wall ahead, then grab Tails and ascend straight up to reach the ledge above.
Drop down through the shaft ahead, then move back and forth between the ledges below until you are launch forward off a spring in the wall.
Make your way across the uneven ground and collect the 10 ring box along the way, then land on the uppermost ledge ahead by hitting the shark enemy above with a homing strike.
Jump across the next gap to move forward through the opening below and ride the jet-streams to break through the unstable columns ahead, then land on the uppermost ledge at the end and drop down through the shaft in front of you.
Take out the shark directly in front of you and continue forward, then jump over the ledges and spike trap ahead to eliminate a second shark enemy.
Ride the jet-stream below to ascend and land on the ledge above to your left, then jump into the next booster to dash around the loop in the wall ahead and approach the face statue to the right.
Wait for the statue’s mouth to open, then jump over the arrow within before it can be fired and land on the next ledge above the face.
Continue forward and jump over the next statue before it’s mouth can open, then use a homing target to take out the shark above and land on the spring ahead to bounce upward.
Use a homing strike to hit the second spring above and launch straight upwards out of the water, then bounce off two more springs to reach the next ledge and continue forward.
Drop on top of the ring box to break it open and to duck beneath the arrow coming from ahead, then continue forward and jump onto the next ledge above.
Sprint forward to hit the checkpoint marker and make your way straight down into the water again, then bounce off the spring and land on the platform floating at the surface.
Jump above the platform you’re standing on and hit it with a homing strike to flip the whole thing over, then land on the exposed rounded side to bounce straight up into the air.
Push yourself forward in mid-air to land on the platform to the right, then drop between the two platforms ahead and sink into the wide water-filled chasm below.
Ride the jets emitted from the stone faces as you sink to the ground below, then take out the shark enemy ahead and jump up the next set of ledges above.
Continue forward and jump in the third jet-stream ahead to rise upwards, then push yourself into the booster ahead to sprint up the wall in front of you.
Bounce off the spring above to launch forward and ride the next two jet-stream over towards the left, then grab Tails and ascend to land on the spring against the wall to your left.
After you are launched forward off the wall-spring, use homing attacks to strike the line of enemies ahead and the ten ring box behind them.
Land on the ledge above the stone face and enter the booster ahead to dash up the wall in front of you, then launch straight into the air and push yourself forward to hit the checkpoint marker on the uppermost ruin.
Dash downhill to launch off the spring at the bottom and push yourself against the opposite wall, then bounce back and forth between the next series of springs below.
Launch forward off the loop at the bottom to dash across a straightaway as the water around you recedes, then hop over the tree stump ahead and hit the floating platform across the gap with a homing strike to flip it over.
Land on the turned-over platform to launch straight up into the air and push yourself forward to reach the ledge on the right, then drop over the edge ahead to fall through the water and sink to the ground below.
Move forward to jump over the spikes and grab Tails for a ride, then ascend upward to break out of the water and continue rising until you hit the ceiling above.
Land on the platform floating below and wait for the water to rise beneath you, then jump to the ledge on your left and bounce off the nearby springs to launch into the air.
Push yourself forward to clear the ledges above and land on a straightaway, then continue dashing forward to complete this act.

Act 3 – Moonlit Realm
Jump down the ledges ahead and move forward along the track, then bounce back and forth between the next series of springs positioned above to climb up the shaft.
Bounce off the last spring on the ledge to your right and land on the stone platform above it, then jump across the gap ahead and continue forward to the opposite edge of the platform.
Wait for the platform below to tilt back towards you, then jump across the line of three teetering platforms to reach the next ledge ahead and continue forward up the hill.
Bounce off the next spring ahead to ascend straight upwards and land on the ledge to your right, then use homing strikes to knock over the stone column beside and you enter the booster behind it.
Dash forward and straight downhill to enter the water, then continue sprinting to launch yourself up the next ramp and into the air above.
Land on the ledge to your right and continue forward to approach the block obstacle, then join up with Tails while standing on the ground and blast through the barricade using a Rolling Combo.
Achievement / Trophy Unlocked: Rolling Combo! (Bronze): Activate the Rolling Combo with Sonic and Tails.
Rocket forward along the ground, while remaining locked in a rolling combo with Tails, and jump over the next set of ledges in the path ahead.
Continue over the ledges to hit the checkpoint marker and bounce straight upward off the next spring, then smash through the obstruction above and move forward to collect the forcefield box.
Launch upwards off the next spring and land on the uppermost ledge to the right, then enter the booster to dash forward and around the loop.
Bounce off the spring to fly forward and smash through the enemy hovering ahead, then land on the teetering stone platforms below and begin jumping across them one-by-one.
Enter the booster as a rolling combo with Tails to dash across the next series of platforms and launch straight into the air off the ramp ahead, then land on the ground below and continue forward.
Jump across the rising and falling platforms to strike the teetering ones into place with homing attacks, then use the platforms you’ve adjusted to reach the checkpoint marker above and continue forward.
Make your way across the next series of teetering platforms ahead and take out the green enemy waiting on the ledge to the right, then jump onto the nearby golden box and ride it upwards.
Jump to the next ledge above on the right and dash through the loop in the track ahead, then bounce upward off a spring and strike the teetering platform beside you at the top of your ascent.
Land on top of the stone platform that was just adjusted and begin striking the other ones above you to ascend upwards, then land on the next ledge to your right and hit the checkpoint marker.
Dash through the loop in the track ahead and launch upward ofd the ramp at the bottom, then push forward in mid-air to land on the ground below and knock over the stone column with a series of homing strikes to uncover the shaft beneath it.
Drop through the hole in the ground to land on the booster and roll forward at high speeds, then launch upward off the next ramp ahead and use a homing strike to break open the nearby crate.
Bounce off the spring that was hidden inside the crate and land on the uppermost ledge to your right, then move forward and break open the flower box in front of you.
Jump into the air above the section of ground made up of broken blocks and smash through them to reach the ground below, then jump onto the ledge ahead and clear the next gap to land on a stone platform.
Strike the next platform in front of you with a homing strike to shift it forward and land on it, then repeat this action on the next one to reach the ledge above and eliminate the green enemy.
Enter the booster ahead to blast forward and through a series of enemies, then dash straight up a wall to bounce between a pair of springs and knock over the line of pillars to your right with a homing strike.
Land on the ledge to your right and move forward to drop onto a golden platform, then ride it downward to bounce off the springs ahead and enter a booster.
Dash straight downhill to re-enter the water and sprint around the two loops in the track, then bounce upward off the next spring ahead and strike the stone platform above with a homing attack.
Readjust the next platform ahead with another homing strike and land on top of it, then enter the booster above to dash straight up the wall and into the air.
Land in the booster below on your right to dash forward up the hills and hit the checkpoint marker, then use the spring ahead to reach the next ledge above and smash through the line of gold columns using three homing strikes each.
Dash forward upon reaching the next ledge and bounce upward off the spring ahead, then land on the teetering stone platform below and move across to the opposite ledge.
Sprint downhill until you bounce upward off a spring against the wall, then hit the stone platform beside you with a homing strike at the top of your ascent to adjust it.
Land on the platform you previously adjusted and perform the same maneuver on the ones above you to reach the next pair of springs to your left, then bounce upward off them and hit the checkpoint marker ahead.
Bounce off the nearby spring to reach the ledge above, then use homing strikes on the next two enemies flying ahead and the stone platform behind them.
Strike the third enemy below and land on the stone ledge, then jump to the teetering platform ahead and continue forward across it.
Take out the next enemy ahead to reach the platform behind him, then continue forward without falling until you reach the opposite ledge above.
Move to the opposite edge of the ledge you’re on and wait for the road of stone columns ahead to lay flat in front of you, then jump onto it and dash forward until the act is completed.

Boss
Spin dash forward and collect as many rings as you can along the way before reaching the boss.
Continue forward after Dr. Eggman appears and keep sprinting until you are stopped by two stone pillars that rise out of the ground.
After Dr. Eggman drops down again, move against one far end of the screen to avoid the tentacles that attack from below.
Move back towards the center of the screen and wait for the monster to actually appear in the background.
Wait for the boss to open its head and lean in towards you, then strike its exposed core with a homing strike to cause damage.
Jump up to grab Tails and ascend high above the boss’ head, then drop down to strike with a follow-up homing attack.
Continue using Tails to ascend above the tentacle attacks and strike the boss in his exposed head each time to cause damage.
After the boss’ tentacles begin choking him, continue using Tails to attack with homing strikes until Eggman’s creation is finally destroyed.

WHITE PARK ZONE
Act 1 – Snow-Blind Wonderland
Spin dash forward down the snowy hill and launch up the next ramp ahead straight into the air then land on the ledge below and use homing strikes to uncover the spring on your right.
Bounce between the two springs to land on the ledge above and enter the booster ahead, then dash forward to break through the obstruction and eventually launch forward off another spring at the bottom.
Fly through the air to land on the snowy ground below and continue dashing across it, then launch straight up into the air off the next ramp ahead and land on the ledge below.
Continue through the icy cave until you reach an enormous snowball blocking the tunnel below, then push this obstruction forward to crush the line of enemies ahead and follow it down the hill.
Bounce straight up into the air from the next spring ahead and land on the lowermost moving platform above, then jump to reach another spring on your left and continue sprinting forward.
Dash straight downhill and hit the spring to go through the loop in the track ahead, then bounce through a series of numerous springs to launch yourself into the air and land on a steep slope.
Slide down the icy incline and drop down off the end ahead, then continue falling until you land on the lowermost level below and move forward.
Bounce straight up off the spring in front of the orange caution sign and hit the enemies on your right with homing strikes land on the next ledge below, then dash forward down the incline and stop when you come to a section of floor made of ice blocks.
Jump up and smash through the ice blocks to reach the ground below, then use homing strikes to attack the large robotic bear to your right and continue forward.
Push the snowball in front of you to crush the enemy behind it and jump onto the ledge above, then jump across the next gap and continue forward.
Stop at the second-to-uppermost ledge and duck down, then wait for an enormous snowball to pass above and continue forward.
Bounce upward off the next spring and land on the ledge above, then jump to the overhead moving platforms and use them to reach the snowball on the left.
Push the snowball forward and use it to walk across the gap ahead, then jump up the ledges in front of you and open the forcefield box.
Jump on the platform to your left and ride it upwards, then bounce upwards off the next spring ahead and land on the ledge above to the right.
Dash forward and launch up the ramp, then land on the next ledge and continue ahead to defeat the robotic bear with a series of homing strikes.
Move forward to approach the obstructed tunnel and grab Tails to execute a rolling combo, then slice through the layer of snow and collect the rings ahead.
Use the next spring to reach the ledge above and continue forward, then bounce off three more springs to launch yourself through the air and land on the snowboard slope.
Guide the snowboard downhill and launch off the spring at the bottom, then land on the next ledge below and enter the booster ahead to dash forward.
Sprint downhill and bounce off the next two springs ahead, then hit the check point marker and jump onto the weak section of snow in front of you.
Use a rolling combo to cut down through the layer of snow beneath you and bounce off the spring ahead to reach the hill above, then continue forward to start a new tunnel and jump the next two gaps.
Use the next two springs to ascend onto the ledges above and continue forward, then jump the gap to collect from the ring box and jump the second gap behind it as well.
Bounce off the spring ahead to launch across the next gap and continue forward, then jump another gap and dash down the steep hill in front of.
Hit the next ramp below to launch up high into the air and land on the ledge above, then continue blasting forward until you bounce off the spring located front of a row of orange caution signs.
Land on the other side of the gap and continue dashing down the hill, then keep a steady forward pace to outrun the pursuing avalanche and hit the next spring ahead to escape from being crushed.
Use a homing strike to bounce between the series of springs and ascend onto the next ledge above to the right, then sprint forward down the ledges and land on the snowboard slope below.
Navigate the snowboard down the steep incline you’re on and jump to collect the rings above before you hit the wall ahead, then bounce upward off the spring below and land on the next ledge to the right.
Use the nearby spring to launch yourself across the next gap and land on the other side, then continue sprinting forward and jump over the sign at the end to collect the enormous ring and complete this act.

WHITE PARK ZONE
Act 2 – Sonic Coaster Rails
Enter the booster in front of you to dash to the top of the hill ahead, then run down the steep incline and crash through the row of blocks at the bottom.
Continue pushing forward into the next booster and smash through the enemies in your path, then bounce off the spring at the end of the track ahead and launch straight upwards to hit a second booster above.
Dash forward and jump over the next platform ahead, then land on the track below to enter the booster and sprint up the incline in front of you.
Bounce upwards to land on the next platform above and jump over the ledges ahead, then ride the last ledge up to the track above and dash forward.
Sprint forward along the track to hit a series of springs that send you upward, then continue down the next incline you land on and hit the ramp at the end to launch into the air.
Push yourself forward as you fly through the air to land on the floating translucent platform, then use homing attacks on the next line of enemies above to reach the section of track above.
Hit the checkpoint and dash towards the ramp ahead to launch straight up into the air, then drop onto the rotating platform and make your way across to land on the next ledge.
Enter the opening in the wall ahead when the piece of track you’re standing on has dropped all the way down, then dash forward and bounce upward off the next spring.
Land in the booster above to dash forward until you bounce off the spring at the end of the track to clear the next gap, then land on the incline below to slide down it and bounce off another spring ahead.
Slide down the next incline below to bounce off the spring at the end of the track and land on the straightaway below, then continue sprinting forward to hit the checkpoint and bounce upward off another spring ahead.
Land on the ledge above to continue moving forward and drop to the track below when the wall in front of you pulls away, then break into the nearby shaft and eliminate the next enemy.
Sprint forward as the section of track ahead rises up out of your way and bounce upward off the next spring to land on the ledge above, then jump to the moving platform beside you and continue towards the left.
Jump to the next moving platform and then quickly onto the spring above it to bounce upward, then land on the ledge to your right and continue forward through the booster to go around the loop in the track ahead.
Hit the checkpoint before sprint through another booster and bouncing upward off the spring ahead, then continue bouncing off the various springs below to eventually land inside a third booster.
Sprint forward along the track to land on a spring that will propel you to the left, then bounce off a second spring to eventually roll down a long incline and bounce off yet another spring at the bottom to reach the next bumper ahead.
Push forward to navigate between the rising sections of track before they can crush you and pop out on the other side to land on a straightaway, then continue sprinting ahead to jump through the big ring above and complete the act.

Act 3 – Labyrinth at Absolute Zero
Sprint forward through the booster in front of you to eventually fall off the end of the track and into the water below, then continue ahead upon reaching the snowy ground and bounce upward off the spring to your right.
Land on the ledge above to continue moving forward and approach the far wall, then grab Tails and fly straight upward until you hit the ceiling.
Descend into the next shaft below and move forward up reaching the ground, then rise up and over the manatee enemy to avoid taking damage.
Touch down on the floor behind the manatee enemy and move forward to collect an air bubble, then bounce upward off the next spring ahead to land on the ledge above on your left and break open the ring box.
Grab Tails to fly upward until you hit the hit the ceiling above, then move forward to navigate above or through the various ledges ahead and descend beneath the manatee enemy upon entering the next open area.
Swim between the group of manatee enemies blocking the path ahead to reach the next ledge and continue moving forward, then drop over the edge in front of you and activate the checkpoint below.
Grab Tails to swim forward and above the various fish enemies blocking the path ahead, then drop onto the next booster you see below to dash up the wall and land on the spring above to your left.
Bounce upward off the spring to land on the ledge above to your right and continue moving forward to inhale an air bubble, then grab Tails to ascend and wait for the overhead platform to shift all the way over to the left.
Ascend through the opening in the corner of the wall above and fly forward to activate the next checkpoint ahead, then enter the booster to dash along the incline and bounce upward off the spring at the bottom.
Use homing attacks on the line of enemies floating to your right and land on the ledge ahead, then drop down through the next shaft in front of you and continue moving forward until the surrounding water recedes.
Use the ledge above to reach the moving platform ahead and ride it straight down until the water rises around you again, then grab Tails to fly between the two monitor screens on your right and follow the trail of rings forward.
Land on the ledge above to enter the next booster and bounce into the series of springs ahead, then grab Tails immediately after launching off the last spring to ascend out of the water and into the air.
Bounce off the spring in the corner to land on the next ledge above and eliminate the bear enemy by using homing attacks, then grab Tails to ascend over the ledge ahead and enter the booster below to dash forward.
Drop down through the shaft ahead to bounce off the various springs below and re-enter the water, then dash forward and stop at the edge of the next shaft ahead to grab Tails.
Ascend up out of the water and collect the red star ring from the ledge above, then enter the booster in front of you to dash forward and run across the surface of the water below.
Continue forward to jump over the gap in the road and re-enter the water below, then dash beneath the moving blocks ahead and continue clearing gaps to activate the next checkpoint.
Drop down through the shaft at the end of the road ahead and enter the water below to bounce upward off the springs, then land on the ledge above to continue forward and grab Tails to fly between the surrounding spikes.
Continue rising above the spikes to navigate between the multiple pairs of manatees ahead of you next, then drop back to the ground to collect an air bubble and grab Tails again to ascend up out of the water.
Land on the uppermost right ledge sticking out of the water ahead and continue moving forward to pick up the extra life below, then dash across the next straightaway above to jump through the giant ring at the end and complete this act.

Boss
Dash forward along the track ahead to collect the rings in front of you and eventually encounter Metal Sonic.
When he disengages from the rocket, immediately jump into the air and strike Metal Sonic with a homing attack to cause initial damage.
Bounce off the spring in the ground ahead to land on the track in the background and continue dashing forward to collect additional rings.
Launch yourself off a second spring, while running across the background track, to land in the foreground again and strike Metal Sonic with another homing attack.
Continue dashing forward up the next steep incline and bounce off the spring at the top to land on the next section of track below.
Strike Metal Sonic with a third homing attack and bounce off a spring to land on the background track again.
Jump over Metal Sonic on the background track to avoid damage and bounce off another spring to land in the foreground again.
Use a homing attack on the boss for the fourth time and activate his next line of electrically-based attacks, then spin beneath these pink bursts of energy and hit Metal Sonic two more times with homing attacks.
Drop back against the left side of the screen and jump over the holes that Metal Sonic punches through the track in front of you, then hit the boss with another pair of homing attacks to bounce off the next spring ahead.
Wait for the boss to bounce of the ground, then dash beneath him and jump again when Metal Sonic attacks you from behind.
Hit Metal Sonic with two more homing attacks to defeat the boss and win this battle.

DESERT OIL ZONE
Act 1 – Through the Sandstorm
Sprint forward to jump across the gap ahead and enter the booster to launch yourself straight up into the air, then move left across the ceiling you hit to continue along the track and clear the next gap above.
Make your way down the incline and jump over the next wide gap ahead, then continue along the S-shaped section of track below and use the strong winds to clear the even wider gap that comes up next.
Hit the enemy in front of of you with a homing attack to land on the platform above and continue forward to clear the next series of gaps ahead, then eliminate another enemy and bounce upward off the spring located below.
Ride the strong winds over to the booster on the left side ledge and dash straight up the wall in front of you, then break open the ring box below, while moving across the ceiling, to fall down through the next narrow shaft ahead.
Enter the booster ahead to dash across the quicksand and bounce upward off the spring at the end to reach the next ledge above, then continue forward by jumping repeatedly to avoid being consumed by unstable ground.
Reach the next rigging platform ahead to use homing attacks on the three enemies above you, then land on the uppermost ledge and continue forward to jump over the gap in your path.
Eliminate the enemy ahead and dash down the next two inclines below to stay ahead of the rolling spiked ball, then jump to smash through the floor below upon reaching the end of the second ramp.
Roll down the incline in front of you and use a homing attack to take out the enemy at the bottom, then move forward down the sandhill to launch upward off the ramp ahead and bounce off the springs to land on the ledge above.
Move across the quicksand to break open the three item boxes and reach the next rigging platform ahead, then jump forward along the ledges until you land on sand ground again in front of an inclined wall.
Dash up the wall in front of you to move through the two loops in the track above, then continue sprinting forward up the next sandhill ahead to duck beneath the line of stilted platforms and vault over the spring at the top.
Spin beneath the swinging crane to bounce upward off the next spring ahead and land on the moving platforms above, then jump across them to reach the next ledge and continue forward.
Ride the moving platform in front of you to land on the ledge above and make your way down the incline ahead to reach the level below, then jump to the next ledge and climb up another incline.
Jump across the gap at the top to land on the shipping containers ahead and make your way down the next three inclines, then continue moving forward to climb a fourth incline and bounce upward off the spring to reach the ledge above.
Use the strong winds to reach the next spring ahead and enter the booster above to launch off the ramp to your left, then land on the ledge above to continue moving forward and into another booster.
Launch upward off the ramp in front of you to reach the league above on the left, then bounce off the nearby spring to dash forward and activate the next checkpoint.
Grab Tails to fly forward over the gaps and spikes in the track ahead, then ride the wind to navigate beneath a series of low-hanging pillars and land on the next ledge in front of you.
Collect the surrounding coins before grabbing onto Tails again and flying forward above another series of obstacles, then stay within the two arrow lines painted on the wall behind you to navigate between the first three enemies.
Ascend above the fourth enemy to collect a star ring and drop beneath the low hanging ceiling to continue moving forward, then land on the next ledge below to sprint down the track ahead and complete this act.

Act 2 – Beneath the Sands
Use the metal container ahead to reach the platform above on the left and bounce off the spring to land in the oil slide, then land on the ground below to break open the nearby ring boxes and continue moving forward across the quicksand.
Bounce upward off the next series of springs ahead to land on the ledge above and grab Tails to fly across the pit in front of you infested with snakes, then activate the checkpoint on the metal platform below and continue moving forward to climb over the ramp in the track.
Cross the quicksand to make your way down the next incline and continue moving forward to bounce off a series of springs, then land on the ledge above on the right and use a homing attack to eliminate the enemy ahead.
Dash up the next steep incline to cross a platform and make your way down a second incline, then bounce off the series of springs ahead to land on the ledge above and continue moving forward.
Head down the next incline to bounce off the spring at the bottom and strike the lowermost enemy on your right with a homing attack, then drop over the ramp below you to fall into oil slide and reach the sandy ground again.
Sprint forward to activate a checkpoint and enter the next booster to cross the quicksand without being hit by the mechanical snakes, then bounce upward off the spring at the end and push yourself over the bed of spikes above.
Grab Tails to fly forward above the quicksand, gaps and enemies ahead, then land on the next ledge and jump to the platform in front of you after the snake recedes into the ground.
Step into the field of quicksand in front of you to sink beneath the wall ahead and start moving forward against the grain, then press jump continuously to keep Sonic’s head above ground and allow him to sink slightly while pushing past the spiked ceiling.
After passing the first spiked ceiling, jump up to get your feet on the ground and sprint forward across the top of it to activate the checkpoint ahead.
Launch yourself up the ramp ahead to land on the ledge above and sprint forward to climb the next wall by hitting a series of boosters along the way, then follow the curves in the track at a consistent speed to ride across the ceiling portions.
Hit the last ramp at the top to land on the left-side ledge and break open the ring box beside you, then jump across the gap to your right and activate the checkpoint above.
Drop into the series of oil slides ahead and ride them downward to reach the ledge below, then move to the right across the gaps in the track and jump up the next set of falling platforms above.
Land on the uppermost ledge to your right and sprint to land on the next falling platform below, then jump to the ledge above and continue moving forward to complete this act.

Act 3 – A Crude Trap
Dash forward along the s-shaped wall in the track and down the inclined pipe at the bottom to enter the enclosed room ahead, then ride the rising sand to the ledges above and begin jumping up them to avoid being crushed.
Move back and forth as you jump up the ledges to eventually reach the shipping containers above, then bounce upward off the next spring to land on the platform to your right and continue fleeing from the rising sand.
Bounce upward off the next spring to land on the platform above and move right to exit the room, then sprint forward to activate the checkpoint and race down the incline ahead.
Jump over the platform at the bottom to avoid hitting the spring and fall through the air to land on the floor coated with oil below, then sprint forward and use the moving platforms to reach the next ledge above.
Ride the rightmost moving platform to reach the ledge above and jump the gap to your left, then bounce upward off the two springs ahead and dash forward to activate a checkpoint.
Enter the next room room ahead to bounce off the spring against the wall and land on the ledge above, then use a second spring to launch yourself into the air and execute multiple homing attacks on the crates beside you.
Bounce off the next spring to your right and grab Tails to fly through the green obstacles above you, then navigate over to the left and launch upward off anther spring against the wall ahead.
Land on the ledge above and bounce upward off the spring to your right, then crash down through the next series of green obstacles below and move to the left.
Bounce upward through the series of springs above and use homing attacks to smash up the crates on your right, then launch off another spring ahead to exit the room and sprint forward to activate a checkpoint.
Sprint down the s-shaped wall in the track and dash up the next incline to hit the ramp above, then bounce off the surrounding springs to reach the ledge on your right and drop through the shaft in front of you.
Break open the flower box and bounce forward off the next spring below to dash up the ledges ahead, use homing attacks on the enemies above to move across the platform covered with oil.
Dash up the next incline to activate the checkpoint at the top and sprint down a second incline in front of you, then launch off the ramp at the bottom to land on the ring box below and enter the sand slide ahead.
Drop into the various sand slides below to eventually enter a booster and dash forward down the wall ahead, then bounce upward off the next spring to hit the enemy above with a homing attack and land on another spring to your left.
Strike the next enemy above with a homing attack to land on the ledge covered with oil and dash forward to enter the booster ahead, then drop on the sand slide below to fall into a second booster and continue sliding to reach the ground beneath you.
Dash up the wall on your left and push to the right upon reaching the top, then enter the next booster to sprint forward over the s-shaped section of the track ahead and bounce upward off the sprint at the bottom.
Grab Tails to fly upward into the box above and activate the mini-game, then press the indicated button repeatedly to earn points until the challenge is over.
Collect the coins before sprinting forward across the platform cover with oil and over the sand hill to bounce upward off the spring at the top, then follow the loop in the track around to activate the checkpoint below and enter the next room ahead.
Ride the rising sand upward to reach the ledge above and move all the way over against the wall on your left to avoid the rolling spike ball, then continue riding the sand to land on the next ledge and grab Tails to fly upward past the surrounding enemies.
Drop back onto the sand and ride it upward until you can jump to grab the red star ring above, then quickly dash forward beneath the spikes to exit the room and continue sprinting across the platform ahead to complete this act.

Boss
Sprint forward to collect rings and launch up the next ramp ahead to break open the box above with a homing attack, then drop into the shaft beneath you and land at the bottom of the factory below.
Continue moving forward to break open another box and bounce off the next series of springs to dash down the incline ahead, then enter the room at the bottom to encounter the boss and watch as his magnet begins to attract the surrounding scrap metal.
After Eggman has constructed a robot from the collected junk, watch for the arrow symbols that begin to appear above and move out from under them whenever they turn bright red to avoid the falling objects.
Jump on top of the green crates that have fallen around you and continue avoiding the falling objects until the robot’s cockpit opens to reveal Eggman, then jump into the air and execute a homing attack on the boss to cause damage to him.
Should you ever need to refill your health, grab Tails and fly upward between the arrow to collect the collection of rings above.
Continue moving across the rows of falling green crates to stay out from under the arrow symbols and strike Eggman whenever the cockpit opens to repeatedly inflict damage upon him.
Avoid or jump over the orange crates rigged with spikes to avoid damage and wait until a green container falls on top of it before striking Eggman with another homing attack.
If an explosives crate falls nearby, move as far away from it as possible unless you have time before detonation to slip in a homing attack against the boss. You can also grab onto Tails to fly away from the explosions.
Continue attacking the robot’s cockpit until it eventually climbs out of the opening in the shaft above, then grab Tails to fly up after Eggman and land on the ledge above to begin the next phase of battle.
Wait for the robot to jump into the foreground and again to land on the platform in which you’re located.
Follow the hover-screen’s prompts to grab Tails and execute a rolling maneuver, then strike the boss’ foot to defeat Eggman and win this battle.

SKY FORTRESS ZONE
Act 1 – The Tornado Takes Off
Read the instructions that appear on screen to learn the plane’s flight and combat controls, then test out these maneuvers while collecting the rings ahead and eliminate the next three enemies with homing attacks.
Continue eliminating the enemies blocking your path and use homing attacks as well to smash through the crates ahead, then collect the extra life and smash your way out the other side of the structure you’re within.
Activate the next checkpoint below and continue taking out the enemies ahead, then keep an eye on the blue jet flying in the background and move out from under the smaller red planes that emerge from it.
As the plane begins accelerating to a higher speed, steer it into the lines of rings ahead and execute a boost maneuver to smash through the next wall of crates blocking your path.
Wait for the enemies riding the hover turtles to appear and maneuver between around them or eliminate them with homing attacks, then keep an eye on the blue jet in the background as it begins to launch fireballs in your directions.
Move back and forth across the screen to stay out from under the falling fireballs, then jump on the next platform below to activate a checkpoint and dodge another line of projectiles that drop towards you.
Jump back onto Tail’s plane so that it suddenly accelerates forward and follow each line of rings that appears in front of you to successfully dodge the oncoming rockets.
Boost through the next wall of crates in front of you and dive down towards a second barricade of containers to smash through them as well, then rise above the hover-platforms again to boost through a third wall of crates and fly through the next series of rings.
Smash through the next wall of crates above to continue following the line of rings and navigate into the narrow opening between the two sets of hover platforms ahead, then boost through another container barricade to exit this structure.
Dive down to activate the next checkpoint and jump off the plane to land on the hover platforms below, then move forward between the narrow opening ahead and walk to the end of the rightmost ledge to wait for the hover-turtles to appear.
Use homing attacks to eliminate the enemies in front of you and land on the uppermost hover-turtles shell to wait for the next line of creatures t6o arrive, then execute two more homing attacks and drop to the lowermost line of turtle shells below.
Continue moving forward through the clouds by eliminating the turtle enemies and riding on the shells they pilot, then land on the next ledge above to walk across the platform ahead and jump back onto the wing of the plane.
Position the plane at center-screen and keep an eye on the blue jet in background until it begins launching cannonballs in your directions, then strike these projectiles as they fall down on you to launch them back at the enemy vessel in the distance
Watch the path of the projectiles falling from above and assess whether you should be dodging the various obstacles or striking the cannonballs so that they hit the enormous blue plane, then use boosts and spin dashes to eliminate the smaller red jets that emerge next.
Push the plane forward against the right side of the screen to stay out of the path of falling projectiles and to dodge incoming hover-turtles, then jump to the next platform below and walk across the ledge ahead.
Wait for the next cannonball to be fired and drop below screen, return to the wing of Tail’s plane to ride it forward and continue dodging the falling projectiles from above,
Navigate the plane back and forth slightly to stay out of the path of fireballs, then eliminate the waves of enemy red jets that appears as well and continue launching cannonballs into the enormous blue jet until it is destroyed to complete this act.

Act 2 – Infiltrating the Sky Fortress
Walk on the two elevators below to descend to the next level and jump over the spikes to reach the ledge on your right, then continue moving forward to bounce between the series of springs and approach the wall ahead.
Smash down through the boxes beneath you to launch off the ramp below and sprint forward, then jump into the propellers you see above to fly upwards and land on the next ledge ahead.
Break open the crate marked with an “X” and bounce off the series of springs ahead to enter the next booster below, then dash straight down the wall in front of you and smash into a second crate on your right.
Sprint forward to eliminate the pair of chicken enemies with a series of homing attacks and land on the platform above to reach the next ledge on your left, then walk across the platform and eliminate two more enemies ahead.
Enter the propellers on the platform above to float forward across them and bounce upward off the next spring below to reach the next ledge ahead, then approach the far wall and jump into the air to enter another series of propellers.
Ride the winds back and forth to ascend to the uppermost propeller and land on the left-side platform to collect from the boxes, then re-enter the previous propeller and use homing attacks to eliminate the enemies in front of you.
Enter the next booster ahead to dash forward along the chain-link fence and collect the as you go, then navigate Sonic towards the upper right corner of the wall to reach the ledge above and activate the checkpoint.
Sprint across the s-shaped section of track ahead to enter a booster and smash through the enemies blocking your path, then dash up the next wall by using another pair of boosters above.
Race down the next incline to launch upward off the ramp at the bottom and bounce between the series of springs ahead to land on the propellers below, then push yourself forward through the air to descend by moving sonic back and forth between the rows of chicken enemies.
Land on the ledge to your right and bounce upward off the next pair of spring ahead to reach the platform above, then continue moving forward to sprint across the chain link fence in front of you and navigate Sonic towards the top right corner.
Make your way across the next ledge ahead to enter the series of boosters and dash up the various inclines above, then activate the checkpoint at the top and break open the flower box.
Ride the elevator down to the next level and eliminate the chicken in front of you with a homing attack, then descend on a second elevator and take out the enemy below.
Descend on the next elevator to your left and jump to the ledge on the right as soon as you can, then continue moving forward over the jet engines and smash down through the next obstacle in the floor ahead.
Roll forward down the incline below to bounce off the springs at the bottom and land on the next platform above, then jump to the overhead ledge and continue moving towards the left to spin dash up the ramp in front of you.
Bounce off the spring at the top to land on the ledge to your right and move beneath the line of rings floating above, then grab Tails and fly upward to land on the next ledge.
Enter the booster below to dash forward through the enemies blocking the track and bounce off the spring at the bottom of the next s-shaped section, then launch yourself up the ramp ahead and bounce off a spring to land in a second booster below.
Dash up the s-shaped sections of walls and ceilings above to drop to the ground below, then sprint forward across the next line of platforms to eliminate the chickens ahead by using homing attacks and then land on the next section of track in front of you.
Bounce upward between the series of springs above to reach the line of enemies at the top and eliminate them with homing attacks to land on the next ledge ahead, then continue forward to approach a cluster of boosters embedded in the wall and grab Tails to rise above them.
Land on the ledge above to move forward and bounce off the spring ahead to enter the line of propellers above, then ride the wind stream upward to launch between another series of springs overhead.
Enter the next booster below to dash up the wall in front of you and make your way down the incline at the top, then continue forward over the s-shaped section of track at the bottom to activate a checkpoint and run onto the chain-link fence ahead.
Jump off the fence immediately to grab Tails and continue forward while descending to land on the next ledge below, then clear the line of moving platforms ahead to reach the last one and make it to the ledge above to complete this act.

Act 3 – Mile High Mayhem
Ride the elevator to the level below and move forward to jump across the the next line of platforms ahead, then bounce between the series of springs in front of you to smash open the cockpit at the top and enter the cannon to fire yourself through the air.
After the second cannon launches you straight up into the air, use a homing attack on the spring beside you to bounce forward and enter the next to go around the loop in the track ahead.
Bounce off another spring to enter a booster and go around the next loop in the track, then launch yourself up the ramp ahead to race through a second loop and continue moving forward.
Launch yourself up the next ramp ahead to land on the line of platforms above and sprint forward across them to bounce off the spring at the end, then drop onto the ledge to your left and wait for the rocket fire above to your right to recede.
Jump across the moving platforms ahead as soon as the rocket fire above recedes to reach the next ledge and activate the checkpoint, then dash forward down the next incline to launch off the ramp at the bottom and eliminate the enemy below with a homing attack.
Continue moving forward across the next ledge to go around the three loops in the track and bounce upward off the two spring at the end to reach the moving platforms above, then jump up them to reach a third spring and launch yourself onto the right-side ledge.
Enter the cockpit of the cannon ahead to fire yourself forward and launch onto the next moving platform above, then ride over to the cannon beside you and enter it to fire yourself in the same direction.
After landing on the next ledge above and continuing to move left across it, run up the wall ahead to bounce off the spring and enter the cannon to your right.
Fire yourself out of the cannon to fly upward in a spiral pattern and bounce off the spring to the left, then land on the next ledge above to enter the booster ahead and dash across the platform to smash through the enemies blocking the track.
Make your way down the next incline to go through the loop in the track at the bottom and bounce off the spring behind it, then go backwards through the previous loop and race down a second incline ahead.
Go through the loop in the track at the bottom to bounce off the spring behind and go backwards around that same loop again, then race down a third incline to bounce upward off the spring ahead and land on the next ledge above.
Move left to bounce upward off the next spring ahead and land on the ledge above in front of the first burst of rocket fire, then wait for all the flames to recede and dash under the line of turbines to continue forward.
Bounce upward off the next set of springs above to enter the next cannon on the left and fire yourself forward to fly around the area in a spiral pattern, then land on the last ledge to activate a checkpoint.
Move to the edge of the ledge ahead and begin spinning in place until the first engine above is just about to fire, then launch yourself across the gap ahead of you and grab Tails as soon as Sonic starts to drop downward.
Quickly fly forward to evade the flames and land on the ledge ahead, then wait for the first three engines above to just about fire and spin dash to jump across the gap in front of you.
Grab Tails to successfully clear the gap and land on the other side to continue moving forward, then drop down over the next edge ahead and grab Tails again to avoid falling your death.
Fly low to stay beneath the flames above and land on the next ledge ahead to activate a checkpoint, then grab Tails to hover over two of the chickens blocking the path and take out the second pair below with homing attacks.
Land on the section of track ahead to dash across it and bounce upward off the spring at the end, then enter the cannon above to fire yourself forward and reach the next platform.
Jump to the next platform and grab Tails to fly through the blocks ahead each time they pull themselves apart, then bounce upward off the spring below and land on another moving platform above.
Use the moving platforms to land on the next ledge and activate the checkpoint, then continue up the track to reach the next line of jet engines above and wait for their flames to recede before dropping through the shaft below.
After passing the orange caution signs and grabbing onto Tails again, fly forward and upward beneath the next line of flames above to bounce off the spring ahead.
Land on the ledge to your right and grab Tails to ascend up past the chain-link fence above, then use the moving blocks to reach the next ledge and enter the cannon in front of you.
Fire yourself forward from the cannon to enter a flying spiral pattern and drop out onto the next section of track above, then follow the hover-screens’ instructions to grab Tails and spin dash across the ledge to launch upward off the ramp ahead.
Push the rolling ball of Tails and Sonic forward at the top of your ascent, then smash through the line of crates to the right and continue ahead to complete this act.

Boss
Navigate the plane through the rings ahead to activate a cut scene in which you encounter Metal Sonic and continue collecting rings.
Keep yourself pressed against the left side of the screen to avoid the blue jet’s initial laser blasts from above.
Wait for the first laser beam to recede before boosting underneath Metal Sonic’s position in the cockpit and jump to strike the boss’ vehicle with a spin attack, then repeat this assault a second time to continue damaging the boss and send him off screen.
Push the plane down into the bottom left corner of the screen to avoid Metal Sonic’s head-on laser blast and eliminate the smaller red jets that emerge from the bigger one.
Wait for the beam to rescind and fly above the enemy’s cockpit to strike the boss with another homing attack.
Watch for the arrow icons that appear on the right side of the screen and fly above or beneath them to avoid the oncoming rockets.
Continue pushing yourself forward against the strong winds and dodging the rockets to get in front of the blue jet’s cockpit again, then hit Metal Sonic with a spinning boost strike to win this battle.

DEATH EGG MK.II
Act 1 – A Duel with Metal Sonic
Move forward along the anti-gravity track to enter the booster ahead and bounce off the next spring to clear the gap.
Drop into the next booster below to sprint along the next section of anti-gravity track and bounce between the series of springs ahead.
Land back on the floor to jump up the ledges on your right and enter the booster above to dash forward along the next section of anti-gravity track.
Jump over the next set of ledges to your right and drop into the booster below to race across the section of anti-gravity track ahead.
Bounce upward off the spring ahead to run across the ceiling and jump over the next ledge in front of you to enter the booster below.
Launch yourself between the set of springs below to dash across the next section of track and jump to the moving platform above on your right.
Use the next platform to reach the ledge above and enter the booster in front of you to move across the section of anti-gravity track ahead.
Hit the checkpoint ahead to continue moving across the anti-gravity track and bounce between the next set of springs below to reach the ledge above.
Dash forward to encounter the two bosses and stay against the left-side of the screen to avoid Eggman’s vessel at first.
Boost forward when Eggman’s vessel begins coming towards you and bounce over it to reach Metal Sonic, then strike him with a homing attack and push yourself to the right side of the screen.
Wait for Metal Sonic to glow pink and create a massive ball of blue energy above, then stay pressed against the right side of the screen to avoid the dropping ball.
Continue this line of attack until Eggman retreats and jump to collect the rings that appear above, then bounce off the next spring to sprint along the section of anti-gravity track ahead.
Drop onto the next spring below and jump over the series of ledges ahead to land on the falling platform above, then bounce upward off a second sting to reach another platform and ride it upward.
Bounce off the spring above on your right to launch forward and enter the next booster the sprint along the section of anti-gravity track ahead, then bounce between another series of springs to collect the extra life beneath you.
Launch yourself off the spring on the left to rotate the screen so the you land on the platform above, then grab Tails and ascend to the next ledge.
Use Tails to fly in the direction that the neon arrow signs are pointing and land on the next series of springs to sprint forward, then enter the booster ahead to eventually smash through a line of obstacles and ride the elevator upward.
Grab Tails to ascend onto the ledge above and enter the next booster below, then bounce upward off the spring ahead and grab onto Tails again to rise until you can drop.
Bounce off the spring in front of you to race along the anti-gravity track again and collect various ring boxes, then drop through a shaft to land on solid ground below and sprint to the right past Metal Sonic.
Boost forward at top speed to pass the neon countdown signs in the background and jump over the gaps in the track ahead, then enter the next room to bounce between the springs and continue moving forward.
Bounce off the next two springs ahead to clear the pair spike traps, then continue dashing forward and beat Metal Sonic to the exit to win this battle.

Final Boss
Bounce upward off the spring ahead to land on the ledge above and break open the ring box, then enter the booster in front of you to dash forward along the next section of anti-gravity track.
Bounce off the various springs to continue collecting rings and moving along the anti-gravity track until you are launch straight up into the air to encounter the final boss.
Spin dash left to race around the edge of the spiraling pathway, then jump continuously when you see the rings to collect them and ascend up the levels in the track.
Climb up into the center ring and dash beneath the red lights on the underside of Eggman’s ship, then jump to strike the boss for significant damage.
After Eggman rotates the track and you land on the outermost spiral, dash to the right and jump over the electrical traps in the floor to ascend to the level above.
Dash left around the track and jump to the level above, then jump over the electrical traps beside you and approach the blue lights on the underside of Eggman’s ship to execute another attack.
After Eggman drops you back on the outermost spiral of the track again, dash left and quickly jump up the levels above to strike the red lights of the boss’ vessel for a second time.
Repeat the previous method to return to the center loop in the track and grab Tails to execute a rolling dash, then use this double team attack to destroy Eggman’s forcefield and strike the blue lights on his ship.
After Eggman rotates the track and you land on the outermost spiral, dash left beneath an electrical trap that has just been deactivated and grab Tails to ascend.
Navigate around the electrical traps above to land in the track’s center ring and grab Tails to execute a spin dash, then destroy Eggman’s forcefield and strike the blue lights on his ship for a final time to complete the game.
