Welcome to our Walking Dead Episode 2: Starved for Help walkthrough, where we’ll help you make the right decisions after the dead begin to walk the Earth. Based on the popular comic book series and AMC television show, Telltale surprised everyone with a strong opening to a unique new variant on the zombie game. Instead of fighting purely for your own survival, you must lead a small group of survivors through deadly situations and make difficult decisions. Not everyone is going to live, but it’s up to you to try and get your group through the ensuing chaos of a zombie apocalypse.
In episode 2, the group is starving. They need food, but a kindly farmer is willing to let your group in. Zombies aren’t the only danger in this new world, as violent bandits set upon the farm looking to clean it out. Expect more of Telltale’s adventure game style where discussion goes further than action — but action is important, too. Here on the walkthrough page, we’ll get you through The Walking Dead alive and well.

Going Hungry
Well, at least we start with some action. Use your corresponding button to take out the zombie ahead of you.
On the walk back you get your first dialogue response. Remember your choices affect everything!
Your next decision regards actually getting food. Will you risk the noise?
Ouch! Things got ugly fast, didn’t they? You’ve got a very intense decision to make right now, which is whether you will free the trapped man or not. Finishing the encounter gives you a 10-point Achievement .
Roll credits, and we return to the motel. And now you have to side with someone and odds are you’ll have to make another tough decision. Shocking, isn’t it? Now would be the time to talk to everyone in the camp. When you’re done, distribute the food as you see fit. When you talk to Clementine, she may ask you to help her find her hat.
When you’re done doling out the food, you’ll be called into a conversation that escalates very quickly into an action sequence. There will be two QT events and lots of stick wiggling to get away.
When the action sequence is over you’ll get an Achievement and move onto the next section.
Conversation Killer
If you’ve read the comics, the first big revelation might not be a shock. Maybe.
Now you’ll encounter some strangers. It’s up to you whether you decide to trust them or not. More story will be revealed as you make your way to the dairy farm. Choose your conversation points wisely, and then you’ll meet a new danger.
Welcome to the family dairy. So, is this too good to be true?
Take a look around. If you’re feeling crafty, find a board and a saw to fix up the swing on the property. Then, go talk to the guy at the generator for some specifics and then you’ll help check out the fence. For the first zombie, you’ll need to pull the arrow out of its head before you can push it away. For the second, give it a shove and then take out the hands. The third one is straightforward, but leads to something more.
You don’t have much time. Use the left stick to look at the rear of the tractor and release the blades, then look at the front so you can remove a chock. Now you can push it. The tractor will move on its own, so you just have to keep up with it. It’ll hit a zombie you need to remove by looking at the front of the tractor again and interacting with the body. The second body will be a bit more of an adventure, but nothing you can’t handle. Keep moving and you’ll reach the gate in safety.
After the cut scene, if you head out the gate you can talk to the grumpy dad and his daughter. If you head over to where the kids are on the swing, you can give Clem a push and chat with her. Kenny’s over there too. When you’re done, head up to the house and it’s time to move on.
Save Lots
Sneaking into the camp is easy, and then there’s lots to examine. There’s a flip-style video camera under some boxes on the table to the left. Take a look in the tent yourself and look in a sleeping bag for Clem’s hat. That’ll cue a very intense scene with no easy resolution.
Back at the farm, things aren’t any better. Enter the barn to see what’s up there, give Clem her hat back. Look in the last stall on the right, the interact with the door at the back of the barn. Interact with Kenny, then head out to where you found the saw and look for a toolbox. Grab the multi-tool that’s inside. Then interact with the lower panel on the generator to open it, turn off the generator, and then remove the belt with the multitool. Return to the barn to solve Kenny’s mystery.
Dinner With Mark
Before dinner you get a chance to sneak around the house. There’s some stuff on the walls and a medicine cabinet downstairs, then head up the stairs for a closet. Connect the power cable in the closet, then enter the bedroom next door. Shift the bookshelf for the reveal that has been pending for a while now.
Get downstairs as fast as you can. There will be a fast and ugly conversation.
Fight Like a Farmer
Now you’re in a new surrounding. Examine what’s around you and talk to the group. Interact with the air conditioner to move the plot forward and make another tough decision.
Talk to Lily to get permission to go through her dad’s pockets. There’s a ring on the right and change on the left. Use the change on the AC unit.
There are two weapons in the next room, a hay hook by the door and a taser-like cattle prod on the tiles. Grab them. Talk to Kenny. You’ll start to sneak through the barn. When the two of you take cover, you’ll have an opportunity to sneak up on one of your captors. Get ready to react fast and then choose his fate.
Approach the house and open the door. Let Brenda shout herself out. When she threatens you, STOP. Wait until she talks again. You’ll get a conversation option, then you can approach until she points the gun at you again. Then you can talk again. Choose soothing conversation options or she’ll overreact. By which I mean she’ll shoot you. After three times, the scene resolves, but there’s more drama outside.
Now things are going to get very actiony, by which I mean very button mashy. Be ready for it. At the end, you make another mortal choice. And paradise is lost.
Stealing
After some conversation, you’ll get that camera back and discover a car. Choose how to call out, then approach it. You have a choice to make that’ll have some repercussions and then you get to see what’s on that camera.
And then it’s time to play the waiting game until next time…
