Deus Ex: The Fall Walkthrough

Make your way through Deus Ex: The Fall’s stealth gameplay with our full campaign walkthrough, covering every side-quest and story mission. Released on iOS devices (iPhone 4, iPad) this bite-sized version of Deus Ex: Human Revolution has everything you should expect; open areas to explore, multiple ways to complete objectives, stealth and plenty of shooting.

We’ll go over some of those alternate paths, and give tips for finding items, what to purchase, and how to complete conversation strings.

M1 – Kill Mikhail Kontarsky

Welcome to The Fall. Spend time familiarizing yourself with the control layout; look around by moving the virtual thumbstick on the right side of the screen.

Press anywhere on the right half, and slide. It’s just that simple, not tiny pop-up to press or virtual buttons. Moving is a little different. Double tap the ground to walk there.

This can be interrupted at any point, or you can take direct movement by dragging a finger (or thumb) over the bottom left corner of the screen.

You can also open up the menu by pressing the pause button to the left of your health and power. Here, you can see how many Credits you have, your total XP, check out current mission objectives, look at the map, read logs, or open the options menu where you can manually save or quit.

The map is a very useful tool, but it won’t be needed now. New features will appear in the pause menu as the game progresses, and they will be mentioned in the guide when relevant.

Give those movement controls a whirl and follow your ally down the roof path. At the waypoint, tap the glowing cover to hide. Now, it’s time to learn about shooting.

There are two targeting modes The Fall. At the bottom of the tutorial screen, you’ll be able to choose either, but you can always change modes in the options menu.

Auto Targeting will automatically lock on to targets you’re aiming at. Tap Targeting requires you to first tap the target before you are given aim assist. Either mode works, and know that you do not need to target an enemy to shoot at them.

Use the crossbow to take out all three guard from behind cover. Try to shoot them while they’re not looking at each other, if they see a body they’ll become alarmed and raise their weapons.

Your crossbow bolts will knock out the targets no matter where you hit them. Aim for the torso to ensure you hit each target. Once all three are down, a vault symbol will appear in the lower-center of the screen. Tap it to jump cover.

Follow your ally to the door, and you’ll learn all about takedowns. After sneaking up behind an enemy, you’ll have two options – the left icon (with the skull!) is a noisy lethal takedown, and the right option is a silent nonlethal takedown. It’s almost always better to use nonlethal takedowns.

To continue the mission, sneak up behind the guard through the automatic door and use a silent takedown. Don’t worry, he won’t turn around.

Down the hall, you’ll learn about interacting with objects. The basics are; everything that can be interacted with in the environment will have a pop-up. Click the object itself, or the pop-up, to use it. The first objective is right at the waypoint – tap the “Use” pop-up to place a jammer and disrupt the hotel’s communications.

Now, you’ll have the option to stand or crouch. While crouching, you move slowly and quietly and can easily hide behind cover without sticking to it. If standing, you make more noise, move faster, and generally guards will see you faster. Due to the nature of Deus Ex, it’s a good idea to stay crouched if you ever suspect enemies are nearby.

Crawl into the vent, and you’ll enter the hotel proper.

Top Floor

Now you can equip items! To the right of the objectives menu, you can now access the inventory. This is a dual inventory and store. New weapons can be purchased right here, which is very handy if you’re ever in a tight spot and need to change tactics.

In the inventory, weapons need to be equipped to one of four quickslots. Back in-game, you can choose which weapon to equip by clicking the quickslot menu at the top right corner.

A few more elements will appear on screen. At the top left corner, there’s an item quickslot. Here you can equip gear like healing medication to six quickslots. There’s also a cover icon near the stance button.

In the pause menu, you can also access the Augmentations screen. Here, you can spend Praxis Points to unlock new abilities. If you’re feeling like spending some extra cash, you can purchase Praxis Kits with in-game money, or spend real-world money to buy extra credits.

Continue to the door, and you’ll see a pop-up showing that this object is “tough” which means it can be destroyed, but it’ll take some firepower to do it. Open it, and sneak through to the hall ahead.

Enter the room through the door on the right. On the mini-map, you should see a small green triangle moving about. This is an enemy, whichever way they’re pointing is the direction they are looking. If the icon is green, they’re peaceful. Yellow is cautious, red is when they are fully alarmed and have you spotted.

To take out the guard, either sneak up behind him with a takedown, or shoot him with the crossbow. Don’t forget to equip it to a slot! You can purchase more ammo from the inventory store.

While sneaking, try taking cover often. It helps you see around corners or survey an area without having to poke your head out in first-person.

While behind cover, you can do more than just shoot. You can move left or right, vault, swat-turn, or switch corners.

Grab the bottles and items around the room once the guard is down. Your augmented body will heal over time, but items will help you heal instantly. Grab the bottle and pocket secretary to learn more about the hotel goings-on.

The waypoint leads to a door. But, instead of going there, look on the left wall for a vent. Crawling through the vent will award you with Traveller bonus experience points. It’s always a good idea to look for alternate paths to the objective, you’ll often find extra items or gain a unique advantage.

Out of the vent, grab an energy bar to the right. Used energy cells will not recharge on their own, only if they’ve been partially drained. These bars can be equipped on an item quickslot.

Ahead, you’ll find a turret covering the objective door. To deal with the turret quietly, take cover against the glowing wall, then scoot over to the corner. Press the transfer pop-up to swap cover to the left. The turret will spot you and enter a cautious state. Wait for it to turn green before transferring left again.

Transfer to the last pillar on the left, and you’ll be in the clear. The marked door ahead is locked, but our hero can hack the security terminal. Each hack comes with a difficulty level, but this first hack should be easy. Later on, you’ll be able to upgrade abilities to make hacking easier.

Because he doesn’t know the code, after clicking the Terminal pop-up, tap Hack to begin the mini-game.

Hacking can be tricky, but it starts off simple. The goal is to “capture” the registry starting at the blue IO point. Each node has a number rating that shows how difficult that node is to capture. The higher the rating, the higher the chance the hack will be detected. Once detected, you’ll need to move fast.

Once detected, the network will fight back and attempt to capture your blue node. To capture nodes, tap them. You’ll need to make a line for the green circular node. Later on, there will be multiple programs you can use, as well as more complicated node lay-outs, but for now, simply capture the white node in the middle, then the green node on the left to complete this mini-game.

Now that the terminal is hacked, the locked door will open. Grab the pocket secretary on the floor just ahead and to the left. Through the vent, you’ll reach the room behind the turret.

Entering the hallway from the previous room, look right for some beer, wine, and an eBook. Down the steps, use the door to enter the 13th floor of the hotel.

13th Floor

Upon entering, you’ll find a Silencer straight ahead. Grab it to learn about upgrades and attachments. In the inventory screen, tap “Info” to see the stats of each of your owned weapons. Here, you can spend credits to upgrade weapons or equip attachments in your inventory. Some weapons can only equip certain attachments. For instance, the Assault Rifle can equip the Silencer, but the Crossbow cannot.

There are three guards in the following room, each armed with 10mm pistols. Kill them to collect the pistols and put them in your inventory. You’ll also find beer in the center of the room – grab it, can’t hurt, right?

To sneak, remember to use three tools; the mini-map, cover, and silent weapons. Watch the mini-map to see where enemies are, and where they are looking, and use cover to see their movements without being spotted. Shoot from cover – we recommend the Crossbow. A missed shot from even a silenced assault rifle will alarm all three guards.

You’ll also find an energy bar and a pocket secretary against the right wall, near another vent that’s perfect for sneaking through. If you want to go the nonviolent approach, stick to the right wall and transfer from cover to cover to this vent.

Through the vent, look left for a concussion grenade. These can be equipped and used by holding or clicking the grenade menu in the bottom right corner. There’s also some extra pistol ammo up the steps.

Past the guarded room, you’ll enter a hallway with a door to the left leading into unfinished hotel rooms. Grab pain-killers in the bathroom, and a Nuke Virus program (for use with hacking) near the bed. Don’t miss the log on the couch.

In the adjacent room, a yellow mine is blocking the vent. Crouch and approach the mine very slowly. Once you’re close enough, hit the pop-up to take the mine. Now you can safely crawl through the vent.

Continuing forward, you’ll enter a strange server room lined with energy fields. Before unplugging the decoy marked on your waypoint, check out the eBook and computer on the desk. The computer looks tough, but someone left it on – you can read the e-mail without even hacking it.

Equip your Assault Rifle or Pistol before unplugging the decoy. Guards will enter the room and take cover. Hide around the corner, and watch if they get close. Enemies that rush forward are easy pickings for a takedown.

One guard will always rush you, while the other will hide further back, and toss concussive grenades.

Follow the waypoint to enter yet another area of the hotel.

Maintenance Area

Down the stairs, a tutorial will appear, showing you how to buy EMP grenades. Buy one, you’ll need it. Through the door, take cover behind the railing and use the EMP grenade on the patrolling guard bot below.

Wait for the bot to stop it’s patrol, either in the center of the room or to the right. One EMP will wipe the robot out, clearing the way forward. There’s an Energy Bar, another EMP and an eBook in the room. Scrounge them up before leaving through the marked door.

Through the door, you’ll find another pocket secretary on the chair. The stairs to the left lead to a room with more guards. Grab the beer from the bathroom, and check the back of the server room to the left to find a vent.

The vent leads into the hotel room. Take cover to get a good view of both guards. Shoot the closest guard with a dart while he’s behind the wall to the left, then you can take care of the second guard at your leisure, without having to worry about him spotting the body.

Take cover on the dresser behind the couch to use a takedown on the guard as he passes by. Now, you can explore the room. There’s an eBook and a log in the sitting area, ammo and wine in the dining area, and one last log to the left of the waypoint door.

Read the log near the door to find the passcode. Enter it into the terminal to unlock the doorway – don’t worry about memorizing the code, it will appear at the terminal if you’ve read the required log.

Through the door, you’ll encounter a red laser security grid. To bypass it, open the Augmentations menu while paused, and purchase the first Cloaking System upgrade. Some abilities must be activated and placed on the item quickslot to equip.

Return to the game, and hold-tap the item quickslots to select the stealth augmentation. As long as it is active, it will sap your energy cells until they’re dry. Activate the stealth ability and rush through the lasers.

Click it again to turn it off and save some of those batteries. Down the hall, you’ll finally come into contact with your target.

After a short conversation, you’ll have a choice; capture or kill him. Whatever you choose, the man is dead, and the mission is over.

The Killing Floor

Tyrant Jetliner

Starting in the bunk, grab the eBook and check out the computer terminal for some light reading. When you’re finished up, step out to the hallway. Here, you’ll see several more bunk room and an eBook on a crate.

Each of the rooms contains more eBooks, text, or video logs. The most interesting room is just left of the starting area, where you can speak with Barret. Challenge him while talking to earn an achievement.

Continue upstairs and hack the security terminal to break in. During this hack, you might see a square-shaped node. Capturing these nodes will earn you bonus items like new software that will help in future hack attempts.

Use the computer inside to learn that the Tyrants are lying to Saxon. At the end of this hall, look in the conference room to find an audio log, some text, and an autohack tool.

A door has opened downstairs. Return to the starting hall to follow your waypoint. There’s another audio log through the newly opened doorway, grab it before confronting the commander of the Tyrants. Approach him in the hangar and enjoy the scene.

Safe House

Reawakening in the safe house, you’ll need to go through all the dialogue options. After cycling through all three, Anna will have a seizure – look around the safe house for a dose of Neuropozyne!

Grab the medicine on the table at the end of the bed and bring it back to Anna. Now that she’s stable, you can spend some time exploring the safe house.

Make sure the explore the trashcans and desk. You can find some extra credits or healing items. The apartment hides many eBooks and logs, as well as some fine wine.

When you’re done exploring, use the security terminal in the bedroom to open a secret door. In the hidden room, grab the concussion grenade and both programs while listening to the audio log before speaking with Janus by interacting with the large angled screen.

With Janus, you can learn a little bit more about your future objectives, and what Saxon should be doing in Panama City. Or, you can be on your way once the “leave” choice appears.

Clear the hidden room, and speak with Anna in the bedroom. You can declare your intentions to be lethal or nonlethal here. Now, it’s time to head to Costa Rica. Make sure the apartment is clear before using the door. When you’re ready, head out the front to travel to Panama City – the major hub environment of The Fall.

Locate Alvarez Araujo

Train Station

The gateway into Panama City is a bustling place. Here, you can chat with various bystanders, loot trash cans, or find a secret vent. Down the hall, look against the right wall to find a heavy crate.

To move the heavy crate, you’ll need to upgrade your strength for 1 Praxis point. The vent leads into an office, where you can hack the computer terminal or the safe with Level 2 hacking ability.

This office also contains an id file. The safe is full of credits, so it doesn’t hurt to hack in for an early cash infusion. The safe passcode is found on the computer, it’s 7712.

The office can be accessed from the main concourse by hacking a Level 2 security terminal. Otherwise, it’s easy to step out onto the boardwalk and continue the investigation.

Boardwalk

The boardwalk is a large area, but there’s not much to see here. Out on the street, you’ll see a cop patrolling. He can be killed, but it’s better to just avoid combat for now. No reason to cause a disturbance.

There is a gated area down the street, left of the station. If you’re caught walking in the gated area or hacking, the cop will attack. Wait for him to come up the street, then walk down. Hacking should be simple, do it, then crouch and check out the back area.

Past the gate, then behind the pillar, you’ll find a concussion grenade, pistol ammo, and an ID file. If you’re having trouble hacking, a log in this area has the passcode 4044 for the terminal.

From the Boardwalk, you can access Downtown, the Nightshades club, or the Slums. On the road to the slums, you can find three blocks areas; two locked doors and one gate blocked by a heavy object.

Push the heavy object to find a log with a code to the Nightshades back door. The code is 5643. The gate with the Level 2 lock is nearby, use the code to unlock the gate.

Nightshades

Using the back door, you can safely walk around the restricted area without the patrons being upset. There’s a locked door down the hall from the back door, with a heavy object blocking a vent nearby.

Another vent is blocked down the hall from the restrooms. Both lead up into the club, but if you broke in through the back, the guards won’t care about your presence.

For lots of credits, check out the strip club down the hall from the entrance.

Down in the basement, there’s a Level 3 locked door. If you’ve got the upgrades, you can find credits in the office.

Explore the area, and when you’re ready, move on to the Slums.

Slums

To the left, just after entering the new area, you’ll see a dangerous area. A gang has taken control of a building, and it’s best to steer clear of their turf.

If you take out the gang in the yard outside the apartment building, you’ll find two locked storage lockers. The second locker’s code is 1212. There’s a free shotgun inside, perfect for taking out enemies inside the tight quarters of the apartment. The first locker has a Revive Pack, ammo, and extra credits.

Follow the road left to get on your way to the Doctor. The right road leads to a locked gate with a Level 3 security lock. The gate leads to the door into the Drug Den, or a ladder.

Up the ladder, you’ll find a frag mine guarding an ID file. Slowly approach the mine to take it, then grab the file.

Back on track, there’s a back alley down the road, left of the entrance. The narrow paths lead down to an Underground Clinic. That’s where you’ll find the doctor.

Underground Clinic

The small clinic features a reception area leading directly into the treatment area with the doctor. Skip by him, and check out the rest of the clinic through the door on the right.

The patient rooms are mostly empty, check out the locked office at the end of the hall. Hack the Level 2 terminal to enter the office – the computer has the code to the safe. The passcode for the safe is 0001.

Get more credits and an ID file from the safe.

With the clinic cleared, speak with the doctor. You can choose how you answer, but no matter what, the doctor will explain the supply problems with the drug. Luckily, he has something different in stock. Choose to take it or not, but by the end, the doctor will offer a unique customer card for the LIMB clinic, allowing Saxon to use their services without being detected.

You can buy a card from him (500 credits) to use the LIMB clinic, or take a side-quest. If you need money for the card, take the side-quest to earn cash.

When you can afford to purchase the card, return to the Slums, and travel to the Downtown area through the Boardwalk.

Drug Runner

Slums

To take this mission, talk to the doctor in the Underground Clinic.

To find the drugs, you can start by sneaking down Rojo street, which can be accessed from the back alley through a low hole in a metal fence. The area is patrolled by four gangsters, so come prepared.

Down the street, near the civilian, there’s a terminal to a storage room. The code is 6009, and you’ll find two mines and an ammo capacity upgrade.

Past the gangbangers, climb the ladder. Take them out with the rifle, or use a silenced pistol. It’s worth buying the silencer. Watch out for the explosive mines if you haven’t cleared them out yet.

In the back alley, speak with the gang member. If you push him for info with a threat, he’ll reveal that the drugs were lost at Nightshades.

Nightshades

To enter Nightshades without having to deal with security, use the back door near the slums entrance. The passcode to the gate is 5643.

The package is on the ground, straight down the hall from the back door, behind the heavy crate. If you can’t move crates, enter the vent at the top of the stairs into the bar to reach this alcove.

Grab the package, and return to Alvarez to complete the quest. You’ll get 1000 credits for your troubles.

Missing Junkie

Slums

Leaving the Underground Clinic, a woman will request your help with her boyfriend. Agree to help to start this side-quest.

You’ll see the boyfriend’s location is guarded by 5-6 gangbangers out front. Instead of fighting through that many enemies, go through the back alley down the right road and hack the security terminal. With the door open, you’ll find a back door to the den.

This area can also be accessed on Rojo Street, where a back alcove is protected by about four guards. Clear them out and climb the ladder, avoiding the mines, to reach the Drug Den’s back door.

Drug Den

This is a hostile area, so come prepared. Equip a pistol with a silencer and crouch down. Any silent weapon will help.

The room to the left is guarded, sneak through the vent straight ahead to get a good look at the area. The apartment building is crawling with patrolling gangsters. Avoid them by continuing through the vent to the right, and you’ll come out near stairs leading up.

Sneak up the stairs, and the side-quest objective is nearby. Turn right down the first hallway on the second floor, and you’re there. Watch out for the patrolling thug over the bridge to the left, he can spot you through the open doorway.

The door leads into yet another area – the Drug Lab.

Drug Lab

The large area is patrolled by three guards. Two stick on the far side, while another circles the raised sections.

Stick to the right wall to find a door into a bathroom. There’s not much here, except another vent leading toward the objective. At the end of the vent, you’ll find a bad sign – a severed augmented leg.

There’s one great stash here in the drug lab you might not want to miss. Through the back door, look right for an electrified area below pipes. Sneak on the pipe, and remove the mine against the left wall.

Keep sneaking to locate a power switch. Use it, and the electricity will turn off. Now, jump down and look inside an alcove full if discarded bodies. There are two open boxes; one with a Praxis Kit, the other with an ID file.

You can also find a locked door with a Level 2 security terminal in the main room. Or, you can use the vent near the pipes, but you’ll have to contend with a frag mine to get inside.

Now, simply return to the Slums and follow the waypoint to the girlfriend to complete the quest.

Garage

At the end of the electrified passage, two guards protect the stairs leading to the Garage area. You can also access it from the Drug Den.

There’s not much here, yet. The Drug Den entrance into the garage leads Saxon into a building protected by gangsters. There’s a safe in a room blocked by a heavy crate, but it can be accessed through an open window outside.

Otherwise, the garage is pretty empty of good gear. Avoid the actual garage area, where a truck is protected by a turret. Something might appear there later, but there’s nothing here yet.

Downtown

Your objective, the LIMB clinic is ahead, just follow the winding street to the large gold-tinted building, protected by Riot Cops outside.

Near the tunnel into Downtown, you can also find the Hotel Etana.

Down the alley left of the street, across from the hotel, look in the phone booth to find another ID file. There are two locked storage lockers here; one is at Hack Level 3, the other Hack Level 5. It’s best to return later to hack the tough locker.

If you’re having trouble hacking, you can always purchase an Autohack tool from the store. They’re only 300 credits, and well worth it to open locked doors. You’ll almost always get a good return on the investment.

The Level 5 storage locker has a free Praxis Kit inside, with crossbow bolts and credits. The Level 3 locker has a Concussion grenade, credits, and hacking programs.

The back alley leads out onto a road. Look to the left for a locked gate. Hack the Level 2 terminal (Passcode: 6114) to enter a small alcove with a destroyed storage locker terminal inside. Duck under the shutter to find an Ammo Capacity upgrade.

Taking the main road, look on the right to find another locked storage room. There’s a Level 4 terminal protecting the area. Hack it to find credits, a Revive Pack, a weapon upgrade, and a log with the passcode 6114.

The alley near this locker leads to two more lockers. One is a Level 2, the other a Level 3. The Level 2 doors provide a frag grenade, while the Level 3 door hides a Rate of Fire upgrade and shotgun ammo. As well as an ID file.

The last place to stop is the XNG Building. But, there’s nothing to do inside yet.

Hotel Etana

There’s not much reason to go here yet. The high-security makes sneaking difficult. The area is crawling with guards, and watched by security cameras. Not easy.

But, you can crack open the security door if you’re curious. The passcode is 9803. Or, move the heavy crate in the women’s bathroom to discover a vent leading straight to the security hub computer. Sneak by the guards, and you can use the hub computer to shut down all the cameras in the hotel.

The security office also hides an ID file and a damage upgrade, but you’ll need to take out the guards to find both items. The ID file is in the cubicle closest to the door.

To enter the storage room in the lobby, locked by a security terminal, use the vent just across from the security office. It’ll take you there safely. No need to worry about getting caught!

The safe behind the reception desk in the lobby holds a Praxis Kit and plenty of credits. It’s well worth grabbing, the safe is easy to crack with a Level 2 security lock.

LIMB Clinic

Not much to do inside the clinic. There’s a book in the reception area, but that’s it. Speak with the woman manning the desk, and ask for Camila.

Walk to the door, and you’ll be stopped. But, in the end, Camila will let you in.

Down the hallway, look for a door on the left. There’s a Level 3 safe inside (Passcode: 2020), with a Praxis Kit. Nice! There’s even a Revive Kit in the corner of the room, grab it on your way out.

Speak with the head doctor, and she’ll send you on a new lead. She wants Saxon to find the source of the illegal Riezene, and thinks a man named Cobra can help you. You’ll find him in the train station.

Train Station

Find Cobra in the bathrooms of the station. He’ll offer information, but only if you do work for him. He’ll offer a mission. Agree to do it, and Diego will give more information on the skulls.

After the conversation is complete, Skulls will raid the station and begin patrolling the concourse. They’re lightly armed, if you purchase an Assault Rifle, they should be no trouble.

Or, you can take the sneaky route. Back up through the restroom and use the vent to get a look at the patrolling thugs. There are five of them.

Hide at the open entrance into the concourse, and you can easily catch one of the patrol unaware with the Stun Gun, a pistol shot, or a takedown. Once he’s gone, you’ll have more room to move about.

Take cover against the pillar ahead, then transfer left to reach another vent. Watch the guards, and you can easily sneak to the vent unnoticed. From here, take out the next nearby guard, then sneak to the pillar closer to the stairs leading to the exit.

This is where things get trickier. One guard patrols near the top of the stairs, while another patrols around the bottom. Take out the lower guard first, then you should be able to get rid of the upper without anyone else seeing.

Leave the area, and you can continue the mission. Meet with the leader of the Skulls in the Slums.

Garage

To continue the mission, travel to the Garage. Access this area through the Drug Den, or through the Drug Lab if you’re feeling adventurous. Take the stairs up inside the Den, then cross the makeshift bridge to find the garage door.

Bring an EMP grenade to handle the turret protecting the truck behind the garage proper. To avoid having to deal with too many thugs, use the Drug Lab entrance, you’ll appear much closer to the garage itself.

You can find the shipping manifests on the table behind the truck. Or, you can find Diego in the Drug Lab and chat with him. If you fail to convince him, you’ll have to get the manifests.

Drug Lab

To talk to Diego, go to the Drug Lab and break into the office door in the back left. Or, use the vent across the electrified area with the pipes. Either way, Diego will confront you as Saxon enters.

Present the man with facts, and don’t try to intimidate him. Appease him with honest answers. Be direct, then deflect. Continue by baiting him, and you’ll get the answers you need.

LIMB Clinic

Return to Doctor Camila with your findings, and she’ll put you on a new lead.

A cop will request your help after leaving the LIMB Clinic down the main mission chain. He’ll ask Saxon to steal Alvarez’s pocket secretary. Doesn’t sound so bad – return to the Underground Clinic in the slums to find the quest item.

Underground Clinic

The pocket secretary is locked in the safe, inside the back office of the clinic. You’ll need to crack the exterior door, then us the code 0001 on the safe. Grab the gadget, and return to the cop for a cash reward.

Alternatively, you can warn Alvarez about the investigation. He’ll reward you with a free Praxis Kit.

If you warned Alvarez, you’ll still need to talk to the cop. It will count as a mission failure, and you’ll miss the cash reward. Don’t warn Alvarez, and you’ll get some cash, but lose out on a Praxis Kit.

Train Station

Gain this side-quest by accepting Cobra’s offer during the “Secure Neuropozyne” main mission.

The goal is to take Diego’s pocket secretary. You’ll need to knock him out or kill him to get it. Be sure to talk to Diego first for the “Secure Neuropozyne” main mission. Diego can be found in the Slums.

Drug Lab

Get into Diego’s office by hacking his terminal, or by sneaking through the vents across from the pipe network over the electrified floors. Watch out for the frag mine, and you’ll get in safe. Diego will be hostile if you fail the conversation with him, so come prepared with a gun out.

Kill him or knock him out. If you succeed at the conversation challenge, he’s a very easy target. Just walk up and use a takedown.

Grab the pocket secretary he drops, and you’re done. Sneak back out of the building, and follow the waypoint to Cobra for your reward.

He’ll offer one of three rewards; a Nightshades pass, a silencer, or credits. The pass is useless, just check the walkthrough for “Locate Alvarez Araujo” to learn how to access the club. He’ll give you 1000 credits, which is easily the best option.

LIMB Clinic

Time to find the Belltower pilot, Alex Vega, to learn what she knows about Belltower’s involvement in the Riezene shipments. Find her in the Nightshades bar, located on the Boardwalk and down the streets from the Slums tunnel.

Nightshades

To get inside Nightshades, you’ll need a special pass, or you can hack the terminal behind the building to get a free back entrance. If you can’t be bothered to hack, the terminal passcode is 5643.

Find Vega in the strip club. Speak with her, and choose to appease her to get on her good side. Choose to help her, and she’ll help you.

Her employer is located in the Hotel Etana, found in Downtown.

Hotel Etana Upstairs

To get to the WHO Inspector’s room, take the elevator up by interacting with the control panel. Down the main hallway, you’ll find locked doors leading to hotel rooms.

The second door on the left can be opened with the passcode 1702. The first door on the left, with a Level 3 hack, needs a Level 2 hack. There’s a Rate of Fire upgrade, and a pile of credits.

The doors on the right don’t have much, except two computers with amusing messages. The first room on the left, if you’ve broken into the hotel earlier and shut down the electricity, will allow you to sneak up on the WHO guards above.

To reach the WHO Inspector’s room, take the stairs up at the end of the hall. Guards watch the door, and there is literally only one door in. The first guard never looks away.

Wait for the second guard on the floor above to look away, then shoot the first guard from the stairwell where he won’t see Saxon. Then you can sneak up on the second man and use a takedown.

Hack the Level 2 terminal for the hotel room, and check the desk inside for a huge infusion of credits. Before confronting the inspector, it’s a good idea to knock out or kill the remaining guards. They’ll become a problem later.

Walk into the inspector’s room to start a cutscene. Things turn ugly fast, and you’ll need to meet up with Vega back at Nightshades. The explosion alerts any remaining guards, who’ll rush in to investigate.

Once the area is clear, you can investigate further. The living area to the left of the office door has an ID file located on a shelf behind the bar. To the left of the bar is a locked storage room (Level 3) with a shotgun, credits, and a weapon upgrade.

From here, you can also access the hotel rooftop from the stairs. It’s a huge area, so don’t bother exploring it quite yet. You’ll have time to check it out later.

Nightshades

Vega is still in the stripclub, but after a short chat with her, you’ll find the club swarming with armed men. Alex puts you on a new path – break into XNG and destroy the surveillance equipment monitoring her VTOL so you both can escape the city.

Before getting to XNG, you’ll need to escape the club through the back door. Luckily, if you’ve been using the back door, you should know how to get down to the lower levels. Use the stairs right of the bar for a direct path.

To get around the guards in the bar, use the vent near Alex’s position. It’ll take you to the far end of the bar. Stick to cover against the seats, and move right, transferring cover across the gaps while guards aren’t looking.

Use a takedown on the guard in the stairwell, and you’re home free. Leave out the back, and make your way to XNG, in the Downtown area.

XNG Data Center

Now that you have a pass from Alex Vega, you can explore the Data Center. The place is full of security, but they won’t bother you as long as you aren’t seen killing them.

Avoid restricted areas, and don’t walk through the metal detector connected to the reception desk. If you can get to the door behind the desk, the passcode to the terminal is 9284.

Alternatively, you can reach the same area with the strength enhancement aug. Use the vent in the men’s bathroom to sneak into a room blocked by a heavy crate. That extra strength only costs one Praxis point, so it’s actually useful in The Fall.

Through the vent, you’ll find two guards blocking your path. There are two ways to handle them silently; use a double takedown, or sneak up right behind them – stun gun one, takedown the other immediately.

Now, you can sneak left into the office area closer to the waypoint, which is also brimming with security. The first guy is standing near the edge of the desk. Take cover, sneak close, and use a takedown to get rid of him.

If you’re worried about the two patrolling guards in the security office to the left seeing you through the large windows, use the Stun Gun or any other silenced weapon to get rid of the guard. Wait for them to look away, then move on after the body disappears.

Watch out, a security bot will activate if a guard becomes suspicious. Purchase a few EMP grenades, just to be safe.

Look behind the computers in the left side of the Security Manager office to find an ID file. If you’ve got the right aug, you can use the Security Hub computer to turn the robot against your enemies. Don’t forget to shut down all the cameras if you manage to get in, doing so will make life easier in the future.

The door in the back, where the robot is stashed, has a security terminal lock that can be opened with the code 2882.

At the end of the area, you’ll have to get by flashing red security lasers. To get by undetected, either time your movement to sneak by while the lasers are off, or use Active invisibility to get through unnoticed.

Now, you can use the elevator to travel to the secret Belltower Base.

Belltower Base

Welcome to Belltower’s hidden base. Things are heating up now. Cameras and guards watch the lobby, so immediately turn left to find a vent. These PMCs are armed with Assault Rifles, so a straight-up shoot-out won’t go well.

Through the vent, look right. There’s a stationary guard looking forward. Be sure to pick him off with a dart or silenced bullet to the brain – if you plan on sneaking.

There’s another vent exit to the right. Here, you can use cover and dive between the gaps to reach a door on the far right.

Get inside, and you’ll find another vent blocked by a heavy crate. Move with the strength aug, which is very handy, and continue through. Grab the ID file on the way! The vent connects Saxon to the security office. Put down the single guard, and use the Hub computer to shut down the cameras.

Leaving the office through the door, turn right to find yet another vent. This will lead past the remaining patrols out on the main hallways to a Level 1 security door. Hack it or use the code 4319 to get in.

Watch out for the metal detector. Use active stealth, or vault over the low cover beside the detector itself.

Into the next area, you’ll find another use for upgraded strength. A crate blocks the vent to your right. Move the box and get into that vent!

Welcome to the barracks. This place is naturally full of PMC soldiers, so come prepared with active armor and guns, or try to stay stealthy.

The security hub is straight ahead, it’s one of the computers at the corner desk past the guard patrolling the bunks area. Get by him, and you can turn off these annoying cameras.

If you have the Robot Domination aug, you can turn the turret against your enemies here. It’s a fun way to clear out some of the annoying soldiers, and shut off the turret ahead.

If you can’t control the turret, purchase an EMP grenade or use the vent at the end of the hallway close to the barrack to get behind it.

Continuing into the last room, use active stealth to get by the metal detector, or simply rush to the door and use it to enter the next area.

Belltower Helipad

The cargo bay ahead is full of guards, cameras, and to top it all off? Another security robot. This place is well protected, and it’ll be tough to handle in a fight.

Of course, an RPG can solve a lot of problems. But, let’s assume you do want to go for a subtle plan of attack.

The security hub is just to the left of the entrance into the area, right where you start. The door has a Level 3 lock, but there’s another way in. Sneak into the targeting range, and explore the left wall down range to find a vent entrance.

There are two computers in the office. One gives the helipad passcode 1022, and the other is the hub. This is a great time to have Robot Domination. Shut off the cameras, and turn the robot to only target your enemies. That will deal with some of your problems right away.

The door you need to reach is down the hallway past the shooting range. Take a left after leaving the range, and turn right to find the door. The code is 1022.

In the far end of the cargo area, you’ll find a munitions room. Use the code 6006 to get inside. Here, you’ll find a weapon upgrade, some ammo, another grenade, credits, and yet another passcode for the Helipad east entrance; 5599.

Continuing through the 1022 door, you’ll find a computer. Hack it to get the passcode to the control room access door (1800) or try to hack the Level 2 terminal on the right. It’s just slightly easier to sneak through the VTOL hangar through the right door. It’s only watched by a single camera, with more cover for sneaking.

The guards in the hangar are very tough. You’ll need armor-piercing weapons to damage the heavy troopers in a fight. They can also turn invisible, making things even trickier. It’s best to sneak, and take out the armored enemies with a takedown or a stun gun.

Climb the ladder in the cargo area to find a vent. The end of the path is blocked by a heavy crate, but it will lead into the security hub area. Once again, you can turn off the cameras and make the security robot fight for you. The code to the security office is 1800.

The objective is just a room away. Hack the box on the side of the terminal to shut off their tracking equipment, then you’re home free. Head to the elevators and return to the Data Center.

Your goal now is the Hotel Etana rooftop.

Hotel Etana

This is when things get tricky again. The hotel is being evacuated, and security personnel don’t want you breaking in. If you walk past the pair of guards, everyone in the lobby will open fire.

To sneak by, duck behind the couches to the left of the pair, and wait for the patrolling guards to look away – or better yet, use active stealth to walk past the guards and get to the elevator.

Get by the men in the lobby, and you’re home free. The halls to the elevator are vacant. Eat a few energy bars, and get upstairs.

Hotel Etana Upstairs

This area is guarded by Belltower soldiers, so be on your guard. A heavy trooper is watching the hall near the elevator. There’s another further down the hall. Wait for him to turn around, then use a takedown or stun gun.

On the sole stairwell to the upper floor where the WHO Inspector was assassinated, the doorway is covered with two mines. Move very carefully, and take out the lone heavy trooper with a stun gun shot or takedown, no one will be around to see.

The last two troopers hang out in the room with the bar or right next to the stairs leading to the roof. Skirt the living area by entering the office, through the bedroom, and crawling into the bathroom vent. You’ll reach a doorway looking into the elevator lobby, where a heavy trooper is watching the exit. He should be easy to get with a stun gun shot while using the serving tray for cover.

Get rid of him, then get up the stairs.

Hotel Etana Roof

This is when things get tricky. The roof is protected by a mass of guards, heavily armed, with a giant mech.

This is a good time to purchase the RPG if you want to go nuts, but EMP grenades will work in a pinch. Don’t startle the giant bot just yet if you only have EMP, try sneaking in closer before getting its attention.

Sneak right, and move the heavy crate to get behind the locked gate below. Vault over the railing when no one is looking, or with active stealth, and sneak down this relatively unguarded path.

At the gap, transfer cover across, and use active stealth if you want to be extra careful. It’s worth using that energy bars now.

The path ends with a floor covered with electricity. If you want to get across, down as many health items as you can before running across. If you don’t have EMP Shielding, the electricity will drain your energy cells and mess up the HUD, but you’re not dying. Keep moving across and hide behind the railing on the other side.

Or, purchase EMP shielding. Electricity will have no effect on you. From here, you can get to the Security Hub behind the giant mech. Did you get the Domination aug? This is where it truly shines.

If you can manage to get the huge mech on your side – enjoy the carnage. Otherwise, this is a good location to pelt the thing with EMP grenades.

Right next to the security hub, be sure to grab the ID file.

Take out the rest of the guards, and Alex will land. Get to the helipad, and you’ll finally escape the city. And so finishes this part of The Fall.

Now you can restart the game with New Game+, upping the difficulty but keeping all your upgrades. If you’re up for the challenge, go for it, or try to approach situations in a different way.
