Walk with your soldiers deep into the forest. Search for a path to the wickerman. When you reach a wooden bridge, cross it. Survive the ambush and fight the incoming savages.
Once the battle is over, you will find yourself separated from the scattered soldiers. Immediately begin the search for survivors by venturing into the forest. Deflect any traps that may be sprung along the way. Find the first campsite and kill the lone savage. Attack after heavy swings to inflict damage. Use your fighting skills to survive the dangerous area ahead.
Continue to search until you find the first campsite where Romans are being held. Secure the site and release the Romans from the cage. Advance to the next camp and kill the savages to save more soldiers. Order the Romans to open the cages when it is clear.
Once the camps are clear, create a defense with the rest of the Romans. Stock up on projectiles and man the bow on the ridge. Defend the area and assist your fellow Romans in battle. When the first wave retreats, form a line on the ground below. Lead the Romans through the swampy ravine without taking heavy casualties.
After the line is disbanded, continue down the left path. Upon discovering another camp, jump down and immediately engage the savages. Place high priority on any enemy with a torch so they do not burn the cages. Order your soldiers to free the Romans when it is clear. Repeat this process for the string of camps.
Eventually, you will reach the wickerman. In an attempt to save the commander, fight the Minotaur Chief Glott. He is not very swift, but his attacks are devastating. Patiently cut the Chief very quickly after dodging his series of heavy swings. Eventually, Glott will go down, and so will the wickerman.
Pax Romanum
Climb up to the ramparts and join your troops by the front wall. The battle will soon begin, and you must be prepared. Archers can be used to target either siege towers or engines. Engines will launch projectiles at the wall, and towers will transport barbarians to the wall. You cannot avoid both. Archers can also assist you in battle by neutralizing any enemy threats.
Try to keep the wall clear of barbarians, but focus on organizing the battle instead of fighting. Command your troops, and knock down enemy ladders so barbarians cannot climb up. If a siege tower should arrive, use your sword to slice the ropes and cause it to collapse. If you fight the battle tactically, you can minimize Roman losses. The health of the Romans can be viewed on the top right of the screen.
While all of this is going on, avoid taking damage. Evade enemy attacks and fight when necessary. Also, steer clear of the red indicators on the ground so projectiles do not hit you. Soon enough, you will be finished protecting the wall.
Move into the city towards the docks. Enter the slums to the left of the bridge and fight through the city to the canal. When you reach a team of barbarian archers near the canal, neutralize them to protect the ship.
The barge will embark soon. Enter the town and run along the river to follow the ship. Escort the barge by killing any barbarians and archers along the way. When you come across a burning building, run in and push the wagon through the gate. Continue to support the barge along the river.
Locate the bridge that leads across the canal. Join the formation of soldiers on the bridge, and lead them safely to the other side. Move through the town’s rubble to the courthouse. Clear the area of barbarians before regrouping with the commander.
Follow the commander into the courthouse and join the defense line. Man the bow on the back of the wagon, and fire into the wave of barbarians to hold them off. You cannot let the barbarians overrun your men, so take them out quickly. Destroy explosive barrels tactically, and utilize the available archer volleys.
Once your men are safe, enter the courthouse and fight the barbarians. Regroup with the commander when the area is clear, and bravely join the battle on the bridge.
