This is when things get tough. Swarms of bad guys are waiting in the upper walkways. Because there are so many of them, and my Utility Energy is low, I opted to use the Kinetic Rifle’s shock grenades to knock clusters of invaders out.
Fight to the lounge, and search the room for items to recycle into energy. Through the back door, you can enter the hangar – Kiril’s already arrived, but there are plenty of men between you and him.
If you’re desperately in need of health, return to the lounge. There’s a utility energy recharge station near the locked down stairs. You can also recharge on the wall just to the right of the upper hangar entrance door.
In the hall outside the hangar, try shooting out the exterior door to suck some of those mercs outside.
Fight through the hangar, and you’ll find Kiril with guards in the back of the room, below the mission pods. When Kiril is defeated, you can ignore the rest of the troops. They’ll retreat whether he’s killed or captured.
Because I didn’t want to lose my only lead on the murder, I killed his guards but knocked Kiril unconscious.
Press [E] on downed opponents to keep them knocked out. Do it to Kiril, and you’ll have him captured. You can also kill him, but let’s ask him some questions first.
Knight 15 orders Bishop back to the unlocked command center. Despite threats, the F-35s surrounding the Zenlil aren’t going to back down.
Hop into the large device behind Knight 15 to start dog-fighting. The camera switches to give Bishop a full overview of the zone surrounding Zenlil. Swivel the camera with the movement controls and hold the mouse over a fighter to target it with an EMP missile.
Keep the reticule over the fighter as it moves, or you’ll lose lock-on.
Once a missile is locked on, the fighter is done. While taking down fighters, watch out for incoming missiles. These red-marked targets can be destroyed with the laser secondary weapon [Right-Mouse].
Protect the Zenlil with the laser to destroy missiles, and use EMP missiles to take down F-35s. This can get tricky, so make a quick-save [F6].
The trick is to watch for fighters flying directly toward the Zenlil, or ones trailing behind. These guys are trying to lock-on with missiles attacks. When a missile alert appears, spin the camera around and destroy it.
I managed to bring down every F-35 fighter with non-lethal EMP missiles. Once the vessel is safe, Knight 15 requests for Bishop to begin an official investigation on the murder.
Let’s get started. Time to solve a mystery.
Questioning the Crew
Down in the medical bay, you’ll find one of the Mission Ops pawns getting fixed up from the mercenary attack. Respond with [F3] when he asks if the Bishop’s ever been shot for a +2 alignment boost.
Remember, we’re looking to solve the murder and discover the traitor on board the Zenlil. Stick around while Pawn 1 gets fixed up. The first patient, Pawn 12, is up in Mission Ops while Pawn 1 won’t talk until tomorrow.
Until then, speak with the two medical personnel. I asked them if they were both in the bay, but didn’t cast too much suspicion on them. Like the doc says, he would’ve found a much better way to kill than bludgeoning the guy – and I’m inclined to believe both of them.
We have no suspects yet. In the hangar, you’ll find two pawns and Rook 25 working on sealing the breach. There’s no time to talk to them either, so we’ll need to check back on these three later.
For an additional sub-objective, speak with Rook 25 about ship repairs. She’ll unlock the data-chip locker for Bishop, located near the brig. Grab a stack of 50 chips, and take the ladder up to the third deck.
Crawl into the vents above the third deck and look for those big blue data processing bays. Interact with them to replace the data-chips. The smoking panel is what you want to fix.
Get into the computer room at the end of the walkway and look for open panels. Place data-chips until the panel closes. There are about four or so broken sections here. Once they’re all fixed, the quest is complete.
While you’re doing it, Rook 25 will call over the CMS and discuss the murder. She’ll reveal some important details about the church – that they believe in the healing powers of some drink, their new discoveries about the ancestors, and her disenfranchisement with the group. But, she doesn’t know who was with the victim.
Go to the lounge to talk to two more Pawns. These two don’t seem to have anything to do with the murder, they were both cooped up on Deck 3. But, they suggest talking to the hangar bay staff next.
It’s clear they’re innocent. On the way out, Kieran will call again to ask about Bishop’s status with the church. Probably a mistake, but I lied and told him I was a full member. Let’s see if that helps or hinders the investigation.
Back in the hangar, find Pawn 4 on the third floor. He won’t talk until you try to speak with him four or five times, then he’ll finally relent.
Talking to Pawn 32 on the mission pod, just be casual and she’ll answer some questions. Don’t accuse her of anything. But, Pawn 4 will quickly butt in and start making wild accusations. I chose to question his lie, and he runs off.
In the previous conversation, he let slip something interesting. “Farewell My Lovely” doesn’t make sense, yet. Let’s try to find out what that is.
Looking at the info console (or wikipedia) we can see that “Farewell, My Lovely” is a novel by Raymond Chandler. But, what does that even mean? The Consortium King appears to have a deep interest in the novel, but that doesn’t seem to have much relevance.
To complete the sidequest, go to the bunks and open the locker marked Pawn 05.
Continuing the investigation, I returned to Mission Operations. The lady pawn here wasn’t very cooperative, but did reveal something interesting about Pawn 4. He knows that the Bishop is investigating a murder, despite the order being given over the CMS. How did he hear?
Moving on, I also had a chat with Pawn 12. He doesn’t reveal much, but stepping into the cockpit leads to a fruitful conversation. Chat it up with the captain, then try sitting in his chair. Don’t forget to click on the viewscreen to watch him and Knight 15 dancing.
I agreed to keep the video between us, but when he mentioned a bug in the system, I suggested it might be a virus. I told him he was too close to the ship to realize it, and then offered to help. He actually responds well to the accusation, and asks you to show him five examples of malfunctioning systems.
Back on task. I stopped by the hangar to discuss with the two welding pawns. The two point to Pawn 64 as your next suspect, and he’ll appear as they finish the discussion.
Pawn 64 does seem suspicious. There’s something he’s hiding. On the mission to find the malfunctioning systems for Wade…
Enter the cabin with the bearded man and you’ll get locked inside. Report that as the first instance. Go to your cabin to watch the bed freak out. That’s number 2. The flickering light in the bathroom on deck 3 is the third problem. One of the flashing screens in Mission Ops makes 4. The final bug appears in the bunks on the lower floors.
Completing the quest will cause a meltdown on the vessel, with the systems going completely hay-wire.
Go to the cockpit and enter lower avionics through the hatch. Crawling close to Wade, the interference will only get worse, you’ll need to pull out of the room for now.
In avionics, switch on healing and repair, and run over to Wade’s body. Stick him with nanites with [E] and tell him to get back to the cockpit. Then run back up the ladder yourself to safety.
Crisis averted. The captain is saved, and the ship is back in control. Sort of. The officers are now convinced there is a virus, but that should wrap up our investigation.
It’s time to talk to the Consortium Queen in Global Ops.
The Consortium Queen
Meet the Consortium Queen by talking to Knight 15 in Global Ops. Be prepared before walking into a discussion – that means SAVE. She doesn’t like it when Bishops waste her time, so I’ll have to choose my words carefully.
I’m not going to bother with pleasantries. Instead, I choose to be quick and to-the-point, which nets the Bishop +2 alignment. If you saved Pawn 1, that’s another +1, and changing the subject back to the reason for the call gets another +2. Not half bad so far.
The Queen does have some interesting information. Tracking down the mercenaries base, the Consortium learned that Kiril only had one true target – you. Bishop 6 was their employer’s mark.
So the question is “why” – choosing F2 options points toward the entire Consortium as the true target, while F3 is all about the Bishop. I confessed that I was probably the true target, and told them the real reason – I’m a traveler from another universe.
The Queen doesn’t take kindly to that. Keep pushing it, and eventually the officers will dismiss Bishop – unless you got that brainscan at the beginning of the game.
Tell them to call Kieran to confirm the strange brainscan to add some credence to the claim.
Still, the Queen doesn’t seem happy with my admission and sends me away. Not a very fruitful discussion, but there’s still time to solve the mystery. Kiril will wake up in the morning. That gives us two options to finish the day – use the virtual trainer, or go to bed.
Downstairs, Pawn 64 will desperately request some time with us. I don’t want to send him away, so I offer my cabin. He’s hiding something, and I want to get to the bottom of it.
Stepping into the cabin first, I tell Pawn 64 to calm down. The captain, Wade, answers over the comm and lets me know that the conversation is being monitored. Not sure who to side with, I agree and tell Pawn 64 he can trust me while Wade listens over the CMC.
Now, here’s some interesting info. Pawn 64 discovered secret messages passed from the medical bay to somewhere in Bulgaria. Wade thinks the logs could’ve been changed, but when 64 mentions something about Rook 9 (Wade) and his involvement, suddenly the atmospheric controls in the room shut off.
Someone is trying to stop Pawn 64 from revealing the truth, and Wade was the only one listening. He’s also in control of the ship, and could’ve sabotaged it.
I tell 64 to calm down before he runs out of breath. I don’t say anything to scare him, like that sharing my helmet will kill us both. In the end, he pulls through – thanks to Wade?
Yep, the Captain lifts the lockdown. So, where does that leave us in the investigation?
Knight 15 isn’t happy about any of this, and commands Bishop to stay away from the crew until they reach Ireland. Meanwhile, Alannah contacts you with a request; choose who you think is the traitor, and she’ll follow them around.
This is a huge choice, and it’s our last chance to find who’s responsible. I saved here, and chose Rook 9. Wade has been very suspicious, even if he saved us. It might be the wrong choice, but I’ll keep looking until we find the true culprit.
Meanwhile, Knight 15 wants to see the Bishop in her office. It’s the second door on the left on deck 2.
She’ll offer you a seat, but this is when things get tough. She’ll go over every interaction we’ve had with the crew so far. Luckily, they have nothing bad to report about my conduct. If we had been far worse, this meeting could’ve been very different.
Until, the doors lock again.
The traitor reveals himself. It can’t be Wade – so who is it? Keep him talking. Ask questions, I refuse to bait him, instead I challenge him. I ask why he hides his voice, and why he’s so interested in peace if he killed Pawn 7.
This guy is a religious nut, and he wants to kill Bishop before he can reach Churchill Tower in London. What does that mean? There’s no way to no yet, but it doesn’t look like we’re about to avoid a fight. Equip weapons and prepare for combat.
The doors open on a slow delay. Retreat back to Mission Ops to find a recharge panel to keep yourself alive, and raid the weapon locker for more grenades – I’m trying to knock this guy out, which is no small feat. He’s covered in armor and shields.
But, it’s all for nothing. The suit is empty. Someone was controlling it remotely, and Knight 15 is exasperated with the findings. She sends every to the bunks for the rest of the day. This mystery isn’t anywhere close to getting solved.
Take the Fusion Battery Control Chip off the dead Bishop armor and place it in the open panel, in the crawlspace accessed from the deck 2 kitchen, or just below the fusion batteries.
With the power back on, a new mission comes down the wire in the holo-room. King contacts the Bishop, and then things get weird.
Let’s go over this fast – terrorists have taken over Churchill Tower, and King is sending the Zenlil to deal with it. King knows that Bishop 6 is a traveler, but we still don’t have anything concrete.
Who is the traitor? Who was Kiril working for? It looks like we might need to play a second time to find out. Until then, let’s get briefed and go to London.
Mission Preparations
The briefing room is located on deck 3. Take a seat with the other officers to start the briefing session.
King introduces a new Rook to the room. He’s here to provide more information on the situation in London.
For some reason, the terrorists believe a chemical weapon is being developed in the tower. When the briefing is over, Kiril will wake up and ask for Bishop. Grab all the gear you need, then run down to speak with the mercenary leader.
In the brig, Kiril greets you. Oddly, he seems to think Bishop 6 is the traitor. I ask Knight 15 how to proceed of the CMS, and she tells me to indulge his fantasies. Sounds like a plan.
I let Kiril explain to the entire crew – he says I visited him three times. He seems to think I was giving him orders. It makes no sense, and Knight 15 isn’t inclined to believe him. Good, but this doesn’t help solve the mystery.
Upstairs, collect mission gear from the cargo containment unit near Rook 25 on the third deck of the hangar.
Put on the special Free-Fall Suit to replace the regular armor, then talk to R25.The hatch will open, now it’s up to us to jump out!
Churchill Tower
Something strange is going on during the free-fall…
Periodically, the Bishop flips through time to different parts of the journey, appearing randomly in early experiences on the Zenlil. This is getting trippy. Didn’t someone worn us about this mission, that it might lead to millions of deaths?
Check back later as we dig in CONSORTIUM and find more of its secrets.
