Bethesda Softworks has a reputation for releasing buggy games, and seeing their name on the cover of Dishonored might give you cause for concern. Thankfully, Bethesda’s only involvement with the game is as its publisher, and not as its developer—not that they make bad games, but you know...
With that said, Arkane Studios’ Dishonored isn’t without a few glitches which have managed to sneak past the quality assurance testers. Given the depth and scale of the game, it’s not surprising that it has its share of bugs—which are thankfully enough, not game-breaking and simply exist as amusements which may, or may not detract from your experience of playing the game.
Dishonored is thankfully so awesome that none of these minor problems could serve to hurt what is otherwise a fantastic game.
Be warned: there might be a few spoilers in the pages ahead, so be sure to read the descriptions before watching the videos.
There are a few particular walls in the game that allow you embed multiple corpses within.
The ragdoll physics in the game will sometimes mess up, even when it probably shouldn’t.
Spoiler Warning: This glitch allows you to kill as well as neutralize the target non-lethally. That’s not supposed to happen.
It just so happens that throwing corpses into bars can cause their bodies to warp. This also applies to stairs.
It’s possible to glitch yourself into the earth in the Hound Pits map, which is a place you go to in-between missions. Be sure to save the game before you try this one or you’ll be stuck here for eternity.
This one’s arguably game breaking, though it’s pretty rare. There’s a chance that you can get stuck in certain locations while attempting to stealth.
Like the previous glitch, it’s possible to fall through the map in some areas of the game. This is one such area.
The way this person’s body contorted upon dying definitely reminds us of the Slender Man.
It’s possible to walk through windows with their shutters drawn. It’s a bug that Arkane really needs to fix.
