One of Assassin’s Creed 3 new gameplay features are the maritime missions: as I already wrote on our review of the game, the ship segments are so well done that Ubisoft could make an enitre spin-off of the series based on this new gameplay mechanic.
In this guide we will complete the main naval missions of the game. Get on your Eagle, assassins!
Limit the ship’s damage to 50%
Take the enemies down as quickly as you can: keep going at full sail and use the swivel cannon.
Use mines to eliminate gunboats
Shoot at the second set of mines you’ll encounter: there are boats near it.
Limit your own damage to 50% when destroying the fort
Controlling your speed is the key here: you have to turn away from the mortar fire every time it’s launched to avoid damage. Don’t waste you time with the swivel gun, use the cannon.
Limit damage from waves
Whenever a wave approaches, steer into it and cover to avoid damage.
Limit the number of missed shots
Just be careful with your shooting and you’ll be fine. Don’t worry about the waves since it won’t count as a missed shot.
Destroy frigates by firing on their weak points
The weak points are marked with a white circle and they’ll appear once you have damaged the frigates enough. Just take your time and don’t worry too much about your damage.
Limit damage to the Belladonna & sink more enemies than the Belladonna
These two go hand in hand: destroy enemy ships with the swivel gun as soon as you can. If the weather gives you trouble, just use the radar to locate the enemy.
Kill the officer within the given time
This one depends a bit on luck since the officer is really fast and costantly runs from one end of the boat to the other. Keep the attack button pressed to kill him while running.
Take out the Men-Of-War within the given time
Ignore Biddle’s ship and head straight for the men-of-war: attack them with incendiary shots to reveal their weak points. Be careful, there won’t be a countdown display this time!
Destroy the Randolph’s mast with a single broadside
Take your time and wait until you are almost touching the other ship and perfectly alligned. If you’re shooting from a bit farther away remember to adjust your aim since chain shots move slowly.
Kill Only Biddle
Ignore everyone else and go for him!
Congratulations, Naval missions are complete! If you haven’t had enough of the thrills of naval warfare you can check the Privateer contracts guide here.
