Animal Crossing: New Leaf is the latest entry in Nintendo’s long running series about enjoying the quiet life. Despite casual appeal, Animal Crossing has been one of the most successful properties launched by the Japanese company, thanks to it’s simple yet engaging premise. Animal Crossing owes much of it’s success to the many customization options given to players. The extensive list of ways to customize, allows players to change their character and house with tons of personalized options, while also allowing the player to interact with their neighbors in some really interesting ways.
New Leaf brings some welcome addition to the gameplay formula, making the game even more addicting than before. Customization options have been vastly increased for not only the characters but their house as well. As if the new options weren’t enough for new players, for the first time ever, you’ll get a chance to become the mayor of their own town, allowing the new virtual mayors to even customize the town and improve it with public works. Creating a good city will allow you to get a Perfect Town rating as well as a 100% approval rating and the appreciation of your virtual citizens.
As usual you’ll also be able to take part in a lot of different activities for the game: bug catching, diving, fishing and more. Animal Crossing: New Leaf is truly the perfect game for all those players who love to collect items: to truly find everything in the game you’ll have to work extra hard.
Among the new features introduced in Animal Crossing New Leaf are Spot Pass features, DLC and Online Play that make the best use of the Nintendo 3DS unique features.
Knowing how to use Tools in the game is really important since they’re going to be the only way to truly improve your town, as well as completing your item collection and more. All Tools can be upgraded to a Silver and Gold version once some requirements are met.
To equip a tool, drag it with the stylus onto your character in the inventory screen or use the D-pad to quickly equip or switch tools.
If you don’t need a specific tool, you can also store them in your house or even give them to other players.
The Net is used to catch bugs. Press A once to swing; keep it down to sneak behind bugs and swing once the button is released. The Net can be bought from Nookling General Store or obtain from Bug Catching Host. The Silver Net, featuring a wider range, can be purchased from the museum’s second floor extension after donating at least 30 Bugs. The Gold Net, sporting the widest range of all nets, can be obtained by talking to Bug Catching tournament host after catching every bug in the game.
