School is back in full force and what better way to relax and kill some time before school starts or your next study session than playing some video games? Since we’re just starting out the October month we decided to feature some of the best video game releases that are set to release this month.

Tales of Zestiria
Fans of the Tales series have been eagerly awaiting this particular release as it’s been in development since 2011. Tales of Zestiria follows Sorey, a man that is blessed with mystical spirit powers. Sorey plans an epic journey to free the land of Glenwood from the evil threat of Hellion which spawns creatures by way of negative emotions.
Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance
Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance is a tactical RPG which will require players to carefully strategize their moves. The story follows an evil demon emperor known as Void Dark who has built up an army that can cause mass destruction on the Netherworlds. Players must work with the remaining Overlords and become Netherworlds last stand against Dark Void.
Yoshi's Wooly World
When the evil wizard Kamek turns all the Yoshis within the world into bundles of yarn, two Yoshis manage to escape. Now these last remaining Yoshis must pursue Kamek and return the other Yoshis into their original form.
WWE 2K16
The latest installment to the WWE franchise brings in the largest roster of wrestlers to choose from in the game series history with over a hundred different characters to choose from. Developers decided to make WWE 2K16 one of the more enjoyable video game releases with the newly tweaked limited reversals and the loss of loading times between the character entrance and the actual match.
Sword Coast Legends
Sword Coast Legends is a video game based on the Dungeon & Dragons lore. Added within the game is a unique DM mode which grants a player to become a DM and guide gamers through their own story and gameplay.
Rebel Galaxy
Set in deep outer space is Rebel Galaxy where players take control of a powerful star destroyer and allow the gamer to determine how their crew survives and explore the universe. Become a power-hungry pirate that rather goes into battle than negotiate or decide to befriend locals and engage in trade.
Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection
If you have yet to play any of the Uncharted video games titles then you’re in luck as developers are releasing Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection on PS4. Catch up on all three of the main Uncharted video game titles with newly rendered graphics and prepare for the upcoming release, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.
Rock Band 4
After nearly three years, Harmonix is back with an all-new installment to the Rock Band franchise. With promises of compatibility to 2000 existing songs and backwards compatibility to previous Rock Band peripherals, gamers will once again put together a virtual band and rock out to their favorite songs.
Assassin's Creed Syndicate
Set in 1868 during the end of the Industrial Revolution, Assassins Jacob and Evie Frye find that London has been under the control of Templars. Being members of the Brotherhood, the duo works to win control back from London with the help of historical figures such as Charles Dickens and Charles Darwin. Get ready to explore the environments as developers noted Assassin’s Creed Syndicate contains a map that’s 30% larger than the map found in the previously released Assassin’s Creed Unity. Luckily you’ll have some new gadgets to get you from point A to Point B such as a grapple that can be used to form a zip line or to help scale up different buildings.
Transformers: Devastation
Players will take control of Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Sideswipe, Wheeljack, and Grimlock as they battle against the Decepticon forces. Expect an extremely fast-paced action title with some stunning visuals that makes Transformers: Devastation looks more like a show than a video game.
Guitar Hero Live
The reboot to the Guitar Hero franchise comes with a new revamped guitar controller along with full motion video to simulate a real live concert. Developers of Guitar Hero Live decided that gameplay should return to a more basic form after their long hiatus. Which to be honest, the hiatus was much needed as the franchise started to become bloated with countless title expansion releases.
Wasteland 2: Director’s Cut
Wasteland 2 is the official sequel to Wasteland, a video game released back in 1988. Set fifteen years after the events of the original Wasteland, a Ranger is found dead which leaves a mystery to solve on the victim’s murderer along with finishing the Ranger’s last mission. Fans that enjoy the old style RPG’s like the original Fallout should definitely check out Wasteland 2: Director’s Cut.
Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide
With Vermintide, players are tossed into the city of Ubersreik which has become overrun by Skaven. With the choice of five total heroes, players will have to fight off the apocalyptic invasion of the Skaven and end the world’s reign of terror. We have a feeling that this expansion will gather in new fans of the Warhammer franchise simply because of the visuals and enticing first-person gameplay footage.
The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth
The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth is an updated expansion to the 2014 release of The Binding of Isaac. This time players will find unusual treasures that will give Isaac new super human abilities along with giving players a brand new final boss and ending to achieve.
Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water
With the power to bring people back from the shadow world, Yuuri Kozukata decides to risk her life to find a missing person. However, Yuuri will have to battle off hostile ghosts that can be destroyed by the power of an ancient camera. That’s right a camera. Because this an older style camera, players will have to search and scavenge film to use for picture and that also means it will be a tough call on if a player should capture a ghost on film or attempt to avoid it all together.
Chibi-Robo Zip Lash
Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash will be a new take on the Chibi-Robo franchise. Nintendo promises players that they will use Chibi-Robo’s plug to destroy enemies, grapple ledges, and swing across chasms in this exciting new platformer.
The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes
The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes is a cooperative action-adventure title that features a series of different Link protagonists for players to control in solving puzzles and battle against enemies. Friends can work together to further progress through the game locally or online with gameplay that is similar to the previously release The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords.
Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden
In Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden players can battle with their favorite characters from the Dragon Ball series similar to the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai series. This particular Dragon Ball Z video game installment features over a hundred different fighters to go head-to-head or partner up in a team battle.
Civilization: Beyond Earth - Rising Tide
The first expansion for Civilization: Beyond Earth is Rising Tide and its introducing players with new factions, biomes, and units. Players may be more interested in the New Diplomacy system which was built to allow characters to trade traits along with AI that features more transparency with deals.
The Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone
The latest expansion for The Witcher 3 comes in form of Hearts of Stone. Developers state that with Heart of Stone gamers will control Geralt on a brand new adventure which will take over ten hours to compete. With new enemies, characters and even Gwent Cards, fans of The Witcher 3 will want to make sure they pick up this expansion to get the most out of their Witcher experience.
Halo 5: Guardians
On the brink of utter chaos, humanities greatest hero goes missing. Spartan Locke receives the task of hunting down Master Chief and discovering just why the world’s savior decided to go rouge in the first place.
