Rumours are circling today that Ubisoft’s highly anticipated title Watch_Dogs will be released on the 25th April 2014. Watch_Dogs, as shown during E3 2013, is an open-world action adventure game centred around hacking set in a fictional, near future version of Chicago. On the surface, the game looks like Ubisoft’s answer to Grand Theft Auto, though with a noticeable sci-fi twist.
The rumours originate from GameKeysNow, who claim to have heard from multiple (unconfirmed) sources that the game will release in April. Watch_Dogs was originally set to release in late 2013, but was delayed in order for Ubisoft to bring the game up to a standard that embodied their artistic vision of the next (now current) generation of gaming. Since the announcement in October 2013 that the title would be delayed, the gaming world has impatiently been wondering when Watch_Dogs will be released, but is this really the news we’ve all been waiting for?
Thus far, Ubisoft have been silent in regards to the Watch_Dogs release date, though in light of yesterday’s “leaks” of the Titanfall beta release date, we prefer to remain sceptical on the matter until we receive an official confirmation.
