Destiny Beta The Best Weapons So far

The Destiny beta universe has really come alive with the addition of Xbox One and Xbox 360 players. Although it boosts the buzz surrounding the game, it also makes the need for sound advice even more important. The number of competitors increases and as they do you don’t want to be left with poor weapon types that let you down. This Destiny need calls for a guide to the best weapons in the Destiny beta, which you’ll be treated to if you continue reading.

As a Guardian in Bungie’s Destiny universe, you’ll be able to equip multiple weapon types at once for a totally versatile attack approach. The weapons are independent of classes, so everyone is capable of using the full range of weapon categories. The first weapons slot is for your primary weapon, the one that you’re expected to use the most of all three for general combat. In our list of the best primary weapons of Destiny beta there is a pick of one hand cannon, one pulse rifle and one auto rifle, which covers the bases for a wide range of tactical players. Whether you like to go in ‘all guns blazing’ or take opponents out from afar will very much affect your weapon choices.

Primary Weapons

Duke MK.44
The Duke MK.44 is our choice of hand cannon that holds seven rounds in its magazine. That may sound like a small magazine capacity, however if you know how to use it well the Duke MK.44 is a powerful gun suited to short-medium range fire.

Red Death
With a brutal knife attached to the end of this pulse rifle gun, no enemy will want to come near you. The Red Death is of the exotic rarity, the rarest ranking weapon available in Destiny. One of the abilities that the Red Death grants Guardians is health regeneration, but in the midst of medium range combat you will only want to use the Red Death for its powerful fire.

Sahara AR3
The Sahara AR3 is an auto rifle that is set to be popular in Activision’s Destiny universe. The gun’s action corrects itself to prevent jamming, which will make for fluid action in the field. Guardians will have no concerns about the Sahara’s AR3 reload rate, which may be frequently required as this storm weapon has a 900 strong rate of fire.

The second weapon slot that Guardians are allocated in the Destiny beta is designated for special weapons category. This type of weapon is designed for more specific uses, so they may not feature in normal play but when you do feel the need or desire to pull them out, they will be your saviors. The selection list that follows includes a sniper rifle and shotgun. The two weapons contrast from one another, so it will be a tough decision choosing which weapon you’ll take into battle with you.

Special Weapons

Closing Time
When you have found the perfect hiding spot with a clear line of sight on the enemy, you don’t want to waste the time carefully aiming on a weapon that cannot pack a punch. That’s exactly why Destiny Guardians need the Closing Time sniper rifle. It is effective at long ranges and inflicts high levels of damage on its target. As an exotic weapon it has the ability to make you invisible while scoped, which will probably make this deadly weapon difficult to find yet highly desired in Destiny.

Judgement VI
Although this shotgun is exclusively for the New Monarchy faction, that is no reason to say you can’t have it! The Judgement VI is certainly a Destiny gun that you’ll want to get your hands on. The impact this weapon has on targets is substantial, which means your slower rate of fire can carefully pick off enemies without going crazy and losing accuracy. With any shotgun you’re looking to hit close and hard, so don’t try firing this Destiny weapon from long distances. Refer to the previous entry for a weapon like that.

The last, but certainly not least, Destiny weapon slot is preserved for the heavy type of weapons in the game. These guns are used to make a heavy impact on enemies in the depths of combat. Not for the faint hearted, the best weapons of the heavy category include a selection of the machine guns and one of the rocket launchers. Both will need some practice to master, but once you overcome the difficulty you will wipe out the likes of Fallen in no time.

Heavy Weapons

Thunderlord
This is one of the exotic heavy machine guns you may come across in the world of Destiny, if you’re lucky that is. The Thunderlord works best during medium range combat, where Guardians will be able to inflict great amounts of damage on their foes. What more do you need from a heavy machine gun than that?

Breaker SA/5
As a rocket launcher, the demands you’ll have of this weapon will be largely different to those of other weapons. But different doesn’t mean anything bad, not in this case. The magazine is only one, as is expected for a rocket launcher, but the blast radius is an impressive sight to see. From afar. Definitely from afar. However to make the Breakfer SA/5 an effective Destiny weapon you will need to take advantage of its good stability and perfect timings to overcome a relatively low reload speed. Considering the scenarios in which a rocket launcher is used, this Breaker SA/5 will serve you well.
