Destiny: How To Get Exotic Weapons and Exotic ability Guide

What are Exotic Weapons and Armor? 

Destiny has many classes of weapons, items and armor including Legendary but there is one class of equipment which is even better, Exotic. The Exotic items are both powerful and rare and all boast unique abilities which cant be found in other weapons. Perhaps that’s the reason why the game will only let you equip one Exotic weapon and one Exotic armor piece at any one time. The Exotics can be found scattered throughout the Destiny game world and some of their effects are Class specific.

How do you use Exotics?
 

You can use Exotics in many different ways but it is important to realize that you can literally receive one at almost any moment from anywhere in the game. You can earn Exotic Engrams, which contain Exotics from the completion of Faction Reputation awards, Raids, Strikes and the Crucible (PVP). You can even buy some exotics although to do so you’d have to use “Strange Coins”. The final way to get an Exotic item is to complete an Exotic bounty, which is a list of challenging tasks that you must complete in order to earn your exotic item at the end. Exotic abilities can compliment your Guardian’s build and loadout and you can only equip one Exotic weapon and one Exotic armor at any time so its vital to choose wisely.

Exotic Weapon List

Primary:

1. Bad Juju - This weapon reloads instantly and increases damage for a short time after each kill.

2. Fate of All Fools - Chain body shots to gain bonus damage on your next precision shot.

3. Hard Light - Rounds fired from this weapon overpenetrate targets and ricochet on hard surfaces.

4. Hawkmoon - Two more random bullets in your magazine deal considerable bonus damage.

5. MIDA Multi Tool - Radar stays active while aiming down this weapon's sights.

6. Monte Carlo - Dealing damage with this weapon reduces your melee cooldown.

7. Red Death

8. SUROS Regime - The bottom half of each magazine deals bonus damage and has a chance to return health when dealing damage.

9. The Last Word - This weapon can be fired quickly and continuously.

10. Thorn - Rounds pierce targets and cause lingering damage over time.

11. Vex Mythoclast - Kills with this weapon grant bonus damage for a short time.
 

Special:

1. Universal Remote - Range and precision damage increases greatly while aiming down the sights.

2. Ice Breaker - Ice Breaker's victims spontaneously combust, dealing damage to others nearby.

3. Invective - This weapon regenerates ammo over time.

4. Patience and Time - You gain active camouflage while aiming down the sights.

5. Plan C - Charge and equip times are very short immediately after weapon swap.

6. Pocket Infinity - Fires in full auto mode and has a chance to return rounds that miss to the magazine.

Heavy:

1. Gjallarhorn - Rounds fired from this weapon split into tracking cluster missiles upon detonation.

2. Super Good Advice - Almost all shots that miss their target will return to your magazine.

3. Thunderlord - This weapon fires faster and more accurately the longer the trigger is held.

4. Truth - Rounds fired from this weapon seek their targets aggressively.

Exotic Armor List


Helmets:

1. Achlyophage Symbiote - Golden Gun gains one additional shot per use.

2. An Insurmountable Skullfort - Kills with Storm Fist immediately trigger health regeneration. You also respawn with full Melee energy.

3. Apotheosis Veil - Immediately regenerate health on activating your Super.

4. Helm of Inmost Light - Provides Death from Above and Headstrong for Fist of Havoc.

5. Helm of Saint-14 - Your Ward of Dawn blinds enemies who enter it.

6. Knucklehead Radar - Radar remains visible while aiming Primary Weapons.

7. Light Beyond Nemesis - You revive fallen teammates faster, and they revive you faster. Your Super also spawns additional orbs for teammates.

8. Mask of the Third Man - Arc Blade attacks use less super energy.

9. Skull of Dire Ahamkara - You take reduced damage while using your Nova Bomb. Your siphon abilities are also improved.
 

Chest:

1. Crest of Alpha Lupi - You revive fallen teammates faster, and they revive you faster. Your Super also spawns additional orbs for teammates.

2. Heart of the Praxic Fire - Further decreases all ability cooldowns while Radiance is active.

3. Lucky Raspberry - Arcbolt Grenade chains further. Spawn with grenade energy.

4. The Armamentarium - Carry an additional grenade.

5. Voidfang Vestments - Your Axion Bolt grenade spawns an additional seeker. Respawn with full grenade energy.
 

Gauntlets:

1. Young Ahamkara’s Spine - Replenish Super energy when you kill an enemy with a grenade.

2. No Backup Plans - Increases the duration of Force Barrier.

3. Sunbreakers - Causing damage with a melee reduces your grenade cooldown.

Unique:

1. Chaos Cloak

2. Circle of War

3. Cloak of Oblivion

4. Cloak of the Rising

5. Light Beyond

6. Mark of Oblivion

7. Mark of the Circle

8. Mark of the Executor
