Destiny - Kaliks Reborn Strategy

Kaliks Reborn is a much larger, meaner version of the Earth-bound Queen’s bounty Servitor. You’re placed in the Fallen arena, of course, and the battle itself is not unlike fighting Septiks Prime. Kaliks has the ability to teleport and he shoots large void beams, but he also has the ability to heal himself using Archon Servants, which are Dreg Majors.

Class Builds:

You’ll want a Defender Titan with Blessing to provide cover and shields for your team mates. As Kaliks teleports across the room, you may need to leave cover. The bubble gives you plenty to revive fallen teammates or just catch your breath. Combine this with Blessing and the team can recharge their shields quickly by entering the bubble.

Warlock Sunsingers can resurrect themselves without waiting for the 30 second timer, which will mean more available teammates.

Blade Dancer hunters are great here because they can cloak in order to hide or resurrect teammates, but they also have arc damage to deal with Fallen Captains.

Equipment:

You’ll want to bring Arc weapons in order to deal with Fallen captains, but personally I’ve found that Vestian Dynasty handles this duty just fine. You’ll also want to bring your highest DPS weapons to deal with Kaliks himself. Bring heavy ammo syntheses to maximize damage output.

Strategies:

Kill Archon Servants, Kill Kaliks

This is the way you’re “supposed” to play. Cycle through killing Fallen minions, then kill the Archon Servants. Without them, Kaliks will not be able to heal and you’ll be able to damage him. Once enough damage has been done, more adds will spawn and you can repeat as necessary. Be careful, as any time you see the message about Kaliks gorging on ether, he’s about to heal. He’ll heal automatically, but he’ll heal more for each Archon Servant he consumes.

Once Kaliks reaches 50% health, a VIP will spawn. You’ll need to destroy this VIP, or you’ll fail the boss fight. Once the VIP is killed, return to the previous instructions.

The two best places for this strategy are the elevated platform to the left of the map, and the small cliff face on the right side.

Brute Force

This strategy may be the fastest, most efficient method if your group can deal sufficient damage. Kaliks’s Archon Servants spawn after increasingly long waits. If you’d like, you can continue to concentrate all fire on Kaliks. He’ll continually heal, but after a while you’ll have enough time in between waves to take him down. Of course, you’ll need to kill minions in order to stop yourselves from being overwhelmed, and you’ll still have to deal with the VIP who spawns once Kaliks reaches 50% health. Once the VIP is dead, no more Fallen will spawn and you can concentrate on Valiks. If at least one person has Gjallerhorn, you have a decent shot of killing him one first push before the VIP even has a chance to spawn. Like the above strategy, you’ll want to sit on the elevated platform to the left of the entrance.

3 Gjallerhorns

Shoot him with Gjallerhorn a lot.
