Rope Launcher

One of the most intriguing, and arguably most useful, additions to Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is the Rope Launcher. This is a device that allows the player to scale tall buildings with ease, create zip-lines, and add new opportunities to punish Templars where there was once open air. Bad news is, you don’t start the game with this awesome tool. But fortunately, it isn’t locked behind too much gameplay.

While the open world of London invites players to explore, it’s best that you put your traveling on hold for just a little while as you complete the first few missions and establish the Rooks. Afterwards, continue on until you meet Alexander Graham Bell. After a assisting him, you’ll receive a working Rope Launcher for both Evie and Jacob to use around London.

This tool helps with all stealth situations and just allowing you to feel like Batman from time to time. Who doesn’t want to feel like Batman?

Synchronize

Once you’ve acquire your Rope Launcher, it’s time to let those exploratory juices flow. The map in Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is incredibly large and full of nooks and crannies for players to discover. But, one of the more important reasons for why you should explore is to Synchronize as many viewpoints as you can. You’ll want to do this for two main reasons.

The first reason is that it will reveal important activities on your map. These range from kidnapping high value targets to the liberation of child laborers. Not only will you earn experience and resources, but you can earn some Loyalty rewards from your associates.

The second reason as that these create fast travel points for the player to quickly get around the city. While riding a horse and carriage is extremely fun in its own way, sometimes you need to just get where you need to be. Be careful though, each district has it’s own suggested level making some difficult early on. Stealth is your friend, and nobody will laugh if you run from a fight.

Check Your Inventory Often

As you play through Syndicate, you’ll constantly unlock weapons, armor, tools, and crafting blueprints. Since this latest Assassin’s Creed throws even more RPG elements into the mix, it’s wise to constantly check your inventory to always ensure that you have the best of the best.

On top of new items, check often to see if you’re able to upgrade your current ones. While upgrades are made available as soon as you earn/purchase/craft an item, you may not initially have the resources. After a bit of scavenging, check back in to see if you can give yourself an edge. It’s great that this isn’t locked behind some vendor anymore, but that puts more pressure on you to remember to keep on top of everything.

Stealth Is Your Friend

Okay, this one may be kind of obvious, after all you’re a trained assassin. An assassin’s job is to get in, kill, get out. But, the combat in Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is very well done and just makes you want to utilize it every chance you get. Syndicate has added some extra incentive to utilize a more silent approach that goes beyond 100% Memory  Synchronization.

The game includes a ton of challenges that unlock useful perks to help you in your fight against the large Templar threat. For instance, using cover to assassinate 75 enemies unlocks a perk that decreases your movement noise.

You’ll still be able to enjoy mayhem if you choose and unlock specific Perks, but unlocking these stealth perks makes later missions much easier to handle. There will be times when you’re dealing with tight corridors and tons of guards.

Stun To Keep Combos Going

Combat is faster faced and much more visceral. While the enemy AI in Assassin’s Creed is lacking at times, they seem to grow highly intelligent once that battle music starts playing. They will flank you, time their attacks to pressure you at the most inopportune moments, and block and counter with the best of them. Combos provide great execution opportunities once you acquire a few skills (such as Mutilate), so make sure to keep them going. Stunning enemies counts towards the counter and leaves them briefly incapacitated. It also increases your counter without doing too much damage allowing for you to build up insane counts in Assassin’s Creed Syndicate.

This is very helpful against the large brutes in the game. Create a rhythm of hitting and then stunning to bounce enemies off of walls (or anything else nearby). When combined with timely counters you’ll be untouchable in battle, just in case you happen to get caught.

Lockpicking

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate has tons of entryways, paths, locked doors, chests, and more to provide options for players. At the start of the game, you won’t have the ability to open locked things, but once you earn yourself a few skill points, invest in the two lockpicking skills. The first one allows you to unlock the chests that appear gold on your map. These hold more money and more valuable resources.

The second skill allows you to open locked doors. This is the more valuable of the two lockpicking skills. For one, cool things tend to be hidden behind locked doors. But this offers more strategic opportunities as well. All of the quests have freedom in the form of multiple passageways, but although the game offers them, it doesn’t make them are easily accessible. Being able to open doors that aren’t exactly for you certainly helps out quite a bit.

Make Sure To Invest In Skills That Will Help You First

Both Jacob and Evie Frye each have their own skill trees in Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. Although they contain the same skills, you can set them as you please. Want a Stealth heavy approach for one, but a Combat focus for the other? Go right ahead, just make sure not to dump points randomly.

Read the descriptions and make sure that what you choose fits your play stile. You’ll have plenty of time to check all of the boxes later on, but in the beginning, focus on being able to complete missions and be the best badass you can possibly be.

The adventure will be challenging, but as long as you keep your wits about you you’ll be able to be a Master Assassin in Syndicate in no time.
