As you begin the game, head through the large set of doors at the end of the hall and make your way outside. For this first part of the game, it will just be getting use to the controlled and whatnot so there’s really not a whole that needs to be explained. When outside, you will be shown the uses of Z targeting and auto- jumping. Hop up the boxes and over the gap to talk to the instructor and he will ask you to go and fetch Mia from the roof top. Move to the building and then dash up the wall to grab the ledge and shimmy over to the left. Drop down and hop over the gap and climb up the vines.
Once at the top, move the crate there against the wall and climb up to the roof. Pick up Mia and head back down to the instructor. When there, go ahead a toss it at him for fun. Now you’ll need to head up to the Goddess statue to talk to the headmaster. Go north and up the stairs to find Zelda as she regales you with tales and then tries to kill you. Once that is over and done with, go back to the academy and find Instructor Horwell to the left of the entrance. Next head into the academy and go to the first floor to talk to Pipet, the guy with the yellow hat.
He will tell you to go to town to ask people there if they have seen your bird. Exit the academy and make your way to the light tower, to the south of Skyloft to start a scene with Groose and his cohorts. After the scene with them, make your way to the Sparring Hall beside the academy for another scene with Pipet and Fledge. Enter the Sparring Hall and grab the Practice Sword from the back room to perform the sword exercises on the logs. When you have completed them, go back outside and make your way to the northeastern part of Skyloft, over the stone platforms, and make a right up the hill to the barred cave entrance.
Slice the wooden beams and make your way through the cavern, all the way to the light at the end. Once you exit, go to the right and slice the ropes holding the boards in place to free your Loftwing. After another scene, you will be given the basics on how to fly your bird and then will head back to the town for the Wing Ceremony. Once it begins, dash off the deck and call your bird for it to start. Simply fly towards the yellow bird and press A when near it.
You’ll have to catch up to it twice to win. Once you have done so, another long scene will play and you will acquire the Sail cloth. Hop – or rather get pushed off the edge- and land in the circle below. Give it a couple tries if need be to get use to the free falling controls and then another scene will play.
After you wake up in your room and talk to the Headmaster, exit and follow the strange floating person on the stairs. Continue following her all the way to the goddess statue and then enter when the way is opened. Descend into it and get ready to press A an ample amount of times. Here you will get the Goddess Sword, meet Fi, and be told of just what the hell is going on. After some talking, walk forward and smack the symbol by targeting it and holding your sword to the sky. Slash at the symbol and then place the tablet in the space.
When you do, a hole in the clouds will appear for you to enter afterwards. After the next scene is over, you will be back in the academy and will finally have some clothes that are a little more fitting for Link. Go out of your room and you will also receive an Adventure Pouch from Fledge so that you can hold up to four items for now. When you exit the academy, talk to the Instructor to the right and he will give you a wooden shield for your travels.
Also be sure to stop by the Bazaar and talk to the woman at the potions stand to get an empty bottle. When you have done your shopping, head to a wooden platform on the edge of skyloft and take a running jump off the edge. Call you bird and then head for the green pillar of light that is located tot e south of Skyloft. Simply fly over it and you will be given the prompt to dive. Press down on the D-Pad and fall into the opening.
Welcome to the surface world! You’ll begin in the Sealed Grounds and will need to head north to the temple there where a scene with a large beast will play. Once it is over, hop off the edges to reach the bottom of the pit and use your Skyward Strike to hit the spike in the center. Once you do, the air spouts around the area will open, allowing you to get back to the top easily. Ride them back to the top and to the door at the temple entrance that was locked.
It will now open allowing you to enter. When inside the temple go the right of the stairs to find a chest that will give you a revitalization potion, as well as let you use it as a second bottle when it is emptied. Head up the stairs to talk to the old woman there and after she teaches you how to use beacons, go through the door on the left. Follow the path and you will come to a Goron being surrounded by Bokoblins. Take them out to help him and he will explain the bird statues to you. Continue down the path to the log and roll it against the cliff. Hop up and continue forward to reach the Faron Woods.
Once inside the forest, swing over the gap by using the rope and then slash through the trees blocking your path. Continue forward and you will find some bokoblins around what looks like a bush. Kill them and then examine the bush to find it is a Kikwi. Talk to it and it will run away from you. Chase it up the slope using dash and the Kikwi will be hiding behind a mushroom. You can use the dowsing to find which mushroom it is hiding behind, dash and roll into to make him run to another.
Repeat again and it will eventually run and hide behind a tree. Talk to him there and he will tell you to talk to the Elder Kikwi. Now make your way to the east and up the slope there and follow the path to the right and hack through the tree barrier. When at the top, make a left and there will be a rope that you need to hit the base of it free it. Swing across it and you’ll find the Elder Kikwi there snoozing. Talk to him and he will ask you to find three of his other Kikwis and they will be added to your dowsing ability. The first Kikwi is located at the far north, just a little to the west. Look for a large rock near the surrounding wall with vines above it.
Climb up the vines to a platform and the Kikwi will be hiding in the middle of some long grass. To talk to him you’ll need to clear out the grass and then when finished, head back to the Edler. Now look to the right of the large Kikiwi and there will be a hole on the side of the tree there. Crawl through and climb up the vines and across the rope. Hop down to the area below once you get off the rope and there will be a couple bokoblins that will call for reinforcements when they see you. Take them out and there will be a Kikwi in the tree. Roll into the tree to bring him down and to loosen a vine. Grab it and swing to the ledge and then make your way back to the first Kikwi you found, where you had to cut the grass.
Instead of climb up the vines, go to the left and there will be a hole in the wall. Crawl through and continue forward and head up the ramp on the far left side. Make your way to the right and beside the tree at the far end there will be a hole. Dropped down it and follow the tunnel to the end to find the Kikwi hiding there. Pick it up and then you will need to go back to the Elder now that you have found all three. When you return to the large Kikwi, he will reward you with the Slingshot and tell you that Zelda went to the Deep Woods. Make your way north to the stone temple and behind it will be a cave. Sling shot the vine above and swing to the cave entrance. When you enter the Deep Woods, the path is pretty straightforward to get to the Temple you need to reach.
At the first tightrope, use the slingshot to hit the hornet nest and then head across. At the next rope, you can also jostle up and down to shake loose any bokoblins that try to cross. When you come to the Gorgon, go to the right and follow the path up and around to meet bhim. He will tell you about the Goddess Cubes. Hit the one there with a Skyward Strike and it will shoot into the sky. Now every time you hit a Goddess Cube, there will be a chest waiting for you to be opened in the Sky Realm which you can see on the map. Hop of the going straight after rolling the log off to the right. There will be another Cube there that you can send to the sky, so do so and then run to the temple. When at the front door, look above it and there will be pink diamonds there that you need to hit with your slingshot to open the door.
Now that you are inside the temple, go forward and down the right passage way to the end. You’ll need to chop through spider webs and blocking trees to get there, but at the end will be a vine wall. Before going up, use the slingshot to hit the Baba at the top and stun it. Climb up and then hit the pink diamonds to open the door down below. Hop down and go through to fins an eye guardian. Pull out your sword when standing on the edge of the platform and move your sword in circles so that the eye follows it. Keep doing it and the eye will get dizzy and leave. Go through the next door and make your way to the middle of the room. There will be a door on the right and left. Ignore the left for now and focus above the door on the right.
Hit the pink diamond with a nut and go through the now open door. Continue through the next room on the top level and kill the Skulltula that drops down by hitting it and then thrusting at it. Read the tablet there for some words of wisdom and then hop off the edge to the left. Crawl through the opening at the base of the wall and enter the next room. Hit the pink diamond high above and the room will fill with water. Climb up the vines and crawl through to exit and go back to the main room which has also filled with more water. Go to the far side of the room and jump in the water to get under the blocked door that was on the left when you entered. Underneath you will find another pink diamond that you can go up to and hit. Do so and the door above will open. Go through that door and ignore the Skulltula’s in the center.
Use the slingshot to lower the vines on the right side and swing across to the other side. Head up the stairs and go through the door and follow the tree branch up on the left. Open the chest there and grab the Dungeon Map to show just how much more exploring you have to do in here. Now head back through the door and jump on the first vine. Stop swinging and turn to the middle of the bridge and swing to jump off onto it. When you land on it, look across and shoot the pink diamond. Hop down and back up the vine and enter the first main room again. Go to the center of the room and look to the east to see a floating log. Jump onto it and then dash up to get on the vines. Crawl over to the ledge and drop off to go through the door there. Once through, go down and kill the Skulltula and there will be a locked door with two eye guardians.
Stand in the center so that both eyes are open and perform the same sword swirling to make them both dizzy. When they drop off, open the chest and grab the key. Now head back to the main room and open the locked door in the center by jumping on the log and climbing the vines. Once through the door, you will be in a large circular room with a dome in the center. Straight ahead will be a door with a pink diamond above it. Hit it and go through to face a skeleton. To defeat the skeleton, simply strike either side ways or up and down, depending on where he is blocking. When you strike, do a back flip to avoid his hits and strike him again. Once he is down, you will receive the beetle. Look up and there will be a hole in the wall with a spider web covering it.
Launch the beetle through there and hit the pink diamond to the right to open the door. Once you do, go through and make your way to the door on the west side. There will be a save statue there as well as two openings above the door. Shoot the beetle through the opening and hit the pink diamond inside to open the door below. Go through and up the stairs and through the door to fight a Skulltula on the ground. Slash upwards at it to flip it over and then land a fatal strike on it to finish it off. Next you’ll need to get past the three eye guardians, so climb the vines behind you and push the crate off the edge. Push the crate to the center of the eyes, so that when you stand on it, all three eyes look at you.
Again, make them dizzy and then open the chest to get the key. Exit the room and fire the beetle to the far back of the room and hit the pink diamond there to flood the room with water. Now you can swim over towards the pink diamond and go through the small opening behind it. Drop down and run to the other side of the room to the door on the far, east side. Use the beetle on the Baba’s to cut them from the ceiling before cross the rope. When they are down, continue through and you will come to the three headed Staldra. Slice off all three heads at once to deal with it and then the blocked door will open. Go through to enter the next and final room of the temple. When you come to the Skulltula, use the beetle to cut its web and then hop over to the other side.
To the right will be a tight rope and a bokoblin on the other side. Tag him with a nut and he will start to cross the rope. Tag him again to knock him off. Cross over and use the beetle to knock down the two vines on the southwest side. When they are down, go back to the west side and climb the vines in the small room. At the top, free the rope and then swing across to the ledge in the center. Hop up and go forward until you can jump to reach the hanging vines. Jump across both and then jump to the small room where the chest is. Open it to grab the golden Carving, which is the key for the main door. Hop up the vines to get out and then head across the tight rope to the large door. Spin the key so it fits and you will have a little battle against Lord Ghirahim
Defeating Ghirahim is pretty simple if you use if you use your dodges effectively and stay away from him. For the first part of the battle, he will hold his hand out matching your swords position. Move your sword slowly away and strike when it isn’t near his glowing hand. Keep repeating that until he does a little freak out. If he does manage to grab your sword, waggle up and down quickly to make him release it. When Ghirahim grabs his sword, stay back from him until he teleports behind you. When he does, turn quickly and he will be open to an attack where his sword isn’t blocking. Until then, he will charge at you, which can be avoided by dodging backwards and he will toss red darts at you which can be avoided by dodging sideways.
Once you defeat him, go through the glowing door and target the spinning symbol across the gap. Use the skyward strike to hit it and you will receive a piece of the tablet to take back to the statue of the goddess. When you do, it will open a red pillar of light that will allow you to drop into Eldin Volcano. Upon exiting the statue of the goddess, an annoying woman going “aaaaay!” named Wryna will stop you and ask if you have seen her daughter. You can find her daughter by going to the graveyard at night and rolling into the tombstone closest to the tree and then pushing it. It will open a door to the left and you can find the “monster “in there. This will also kick off the side missions that you can do in and around Skyloft.
When you arrive at Eldin, make your way east and south. You will come across some Mogma’s who pop out of the ground and warn you about their treasure. Go past them and make a left, watching for the lowering and rising lava around the platforms. Enter the cave there and a Mogma will give you the ins and outs of the bomb flowers. Blow up the middle pile of rocks and proceed down the tunnel to the end where a Mogma will tell you a person went in the opening of the rock in the center. Make your way around the right side and a creature called a Pyrup will crawl into a cave and blow out flames if you go close to it. Grab a bomb flower and roll it into the cave to take it out.
Go past there and you will have a couple Bokoblins to deal with before coming to another ledge. Look down and see two Pyrups inside skulls. Toss a bomb flower in the opening of each to destroy them. Now look across the bridge and see a plugged hole to the left of the bridge. Grab a bomb flower and roll it across the bridge to unplug the hole with an explosion.
Once you have blown the blockage open with the bomb, you can then hop across to the air spout going upwards and enter the opening and drop down to the ground below to the save there. Head through the corridor and talk to the Mogma who talks about problems with the Red Monsters. Head into the next room and clear them out by attacking the horn blower on the wooden platform to cease the non-stop assault of them.
When they are down, go back and talk to the Mogma and he will offer you rupees or a way forward. Choose a way forward and you will receive the Digging Mitts. Dig at the next X on the ground and you will uncover an air spout that will blow you upwards. When in the next area, there will be plenty of fire breathers blocking your path to the far right.
Grab the bomb flowers and just drop them at the side of the opening where the flames are coming out to stop the gush of flames. Head through the doorway on the far right and you will come out to an air spout that will take you back to the surface. Talk to the Mogma there and he will tell of a black figure that jumped the chasm. Walk over the bridge that extends and to the left will be a wooden long box. Toss a bomb flower behind it to reveal a chest.
Head through the passage on the left and follow the slippery slope up to the first platform. Kill the enemy there and you can hop over to the next platform on the right to toss a flower bomb down the hill to the destructible wall to find a goddess cube on the other side. To progress to the top of the sandy slope, fire your sling shot at the enemy at the top so that he drops his rock, and then run up.
When at the top, use a bomb flower to knock over the wooden tower and to blow open a cave between the two huts on the left to find Tubert and his game of Thrill Digger. There is also a stool there in case you want to replenish your hearts. Head across the tower bridge and climb up the vine wall and follow the path around. Head up the sandy slope by nailing the enemies with the sling shot and you will come to a locked door and 2 Mogmas chatting.
Now you will need to find the 5 pieces of the key to unlock the door. The first is to the left of the hole the Mogmas were talking in and the second is around the left corner, at the bottom of the hill under the tower. Knock it over with a bomb flower and dig it up. Notice the item on the ground there beside it. It’s a propeller that you’ll be coming back to get later on. The next key piece can be found in a destructible cave on the right of the sandy slope leading up to the locked door.
Underhand roll a bomb flower to the rocks to blow it open and then dig for the piece. The fourth can be found by knocking over the tower to the right of the temple door and following the path to a vine wall. Before heading after the key piece however, take the path directly across from the knocked over tower to find another Goddess Cube. When you head through the corridor to reach the vines, jump over to them, climb around to the entrance and step on the pressure plate to extend the bridge. Continue following the path upwards until you start to enter the red hot area.
Make an immediate right and jump down the sandy slope. Follow it to the right, all the way to the bottom and use a bomb flower to blow the next lava blockage outside a cave at the bottom. When the lava lowers, roll a bomb over to the rock wall and then enter and dig for the key. The final key can be found by taking the same sandy slope down in the heated area, through the right side cave, but by taking the right side of the slope and then hopping over two air spouts. Now that you have all 5 pieces, head back to the temple entrance and enter.
When you enter the temple, head forward and hop over the couple floating platforms. Once on the other side, there will be gears to the left and right side. Cut the ropes on them to lower the bridge partially and then send the Beetle out to cut the last rope through the hole on the right side of the drawbridge. Once it is down, head through and you will meet some new enemies called Lizafos. Once you defeat him, take his tail and then fire your sling shot at the bombs on the statue in the lava.
When it explodes, a ball will roll over. Hop on top of it and roll to the right of the area. When you hop off, talk to Ledd there and he will tell you about his Bomb Bag. Crawl through the opening to the left of the destructible rocks and then take out the enemy. Roll a bomb through the same opening to open the door and head through. Take out the two Lizafos inside and the bomb bag will appear in a chest. Hop back on the ball and roll over to the center of the room and head up the stairs on the left side. Toss a bomb at the rock pile and then hop across and go through the door.
Fight off the Red Bokoblins there and continue along the stones to the rising one at the far end. Ride it up to the chest a get the Dungeon Map. Head back out to the main room and roll over to the right side of the room. Look on the map to where the red X is and toss two bombs against the wall there to break it open. Roll through and when you come to the blocking bridge, toss a couple more against the wall on the left. Roll through the new opening and continue til you reach a red door.
Use the Beetle to cut the rope at the top and then send it through the tunnel on the left side to cut the second rope on the other side of the door at the top. Roll through the now open gate and follow the path to the main room. Roll against the plunger on the central bridge and it will rise up allowing you to enter the center door.
Once in, run up the slope in the center using the room on the left to rest. Avoid the rocks on the way to the top and then you will have another slope to climb. Use the opening on the right to crawl through and then dig to find the air spout allowing you to climb the stairs to the balcony there. Toss a bomb off so that it blows up the destructible rocks on the far side to the left and then head back down through the opening and run up the slope. Once at the top, go up the winding path to the left, grabbing the fruit along the way so you don’t slide back down. Once at the top, open the chest to get the Dragon Sculpture key for the door at the bottom. Once opened, a scene will play and you will have to fight against Scaldera, a giant rock and lava spider.
To defeat it, you will basically just need to throw bombs into its mouth and then slash at its eye when it explodes. Scaldera will repeatedly run up the ramp to the top and then roll back down where it will inhale and then shoot fireballs out. When it is inhaling is when you need to toss the bomb at it. Once it goes off, some of its shell will fall off giving you the eye to hit. Keep repeating and eventually the beast will wither away.
As soon as you land at the mine, go to the left and look at the….robot? Proceed around to the rear of where you landed and you can find a Goddess Cube there. Head North after striking it and cross the gap and push the mine carts until you come to an area with a blue crystal in the center. Strike it with the sword and it will make the area timeshift to the past.
Hop in the mine cart where you entered from and ride it through the door on the left side. Use a bomb on the left most rock and then strike the crystal that appears. Next toss a bomb in the plate on the wall and it will fall over allowing you to pass. Follow the corridor and you will come to some quick sand that you can only pass while running. Run to the platform and then toss bombs to lower the next set of platforms.
Continue on to the large room and use the platforms to rest while making your way to the far side. Head up the ramp and to the left will be a long stretch of quicksand. Roll a bomb to destroy the rock in the middle and then another to destroy the rocks at the far side. Once the crystal is exposed, toss another to hit it and reverse time. Head across and go to the left to find a chest. Open it for a golden skull and then hop down and go to the left to the mine cart there. Push it into the time zone and ride it through the next door to reach the desert.
Head north to the large area of quicksand and you will run into some cages. Walk up the rocky slope beside them and hop over to the right most cage. Toss a bomb through the opening on the next cage to break the rocks inside and another to hit the time crystal that was revealed. When you do, the area with be reverted. Drop down and take out the two enemies in the area and then talk to the robot in the cage. He will then upgrade your Beetle to a Hook Beetle.
You can then use the hook beetle to grab the bombs from the top of the tree in the quicksand and drop them into the structures along the side of the walls so that they fall down, allowing you to hop across. Once in the next area, use the hook beetle to grab the bombs from the tree top and bomb the Ampilus. Run across the sand and use the shells to rest by standing on halfway across. Head to the doorway on the right, but keep note of the Goddess Cube also on the right. Continue forward and there will be another area of Ampilus and quicksand where you will need to bomb them and ride along on their shells to reach the door way to the north that leads to the Temple of Time.
Make your way to the path leading to the right and then hit the time crystal atop the pillar with the slingshot. When time reverts, ride the mine cart to the other side. Use the hook beetle and fly it into the opening and hit the pink diamond switch to open the gate. Next use the Hook Beetle to grab a bomb and fly it to the top of the tree in the center and drop the bomb in the opening. Hop in the cart and ride it across to the other side and talk to Gorko who will tell you there was an explosion.
Use the hook beetle on the rock atop the pillars to reveal a time crystal and take out the enemies that appear. Talk to the robot there and he will update your map and tell you to go to the Mining Facillity. Hop in the mine cart and then hop out when it stop a few feet further. Hit the next time crystal in the cave directly across from you and then hop in the mine cart again, raising your sword to hit the Goddess Cube as you pass by it. Ride across and enter the cave at the far end.
Now you will need to find a path to get to the Mining Facility Entrance. Use the map and you will not sink on the dark grey paths. You can also use the ramp of stone to get on top of the structure to find a save point and some rocks. Break the rocks with bombs and you will find yet another time crystal. Hit the crystal and you will then see a generator that needs to be turned on to access the mine facility. Head due north to find a cracked wall and toss a bomb at it.
Enter the cave and then cross the sand to find the crystal in the center of the room. Hit it and the sand will disappear, leaving little electrical balls. Roll it into the device beside the gated entrance and it will open. Enter the room there and stick your sword in the node and turn to the left. Press A when you do and it will activate. Head back out to the desert and head to the very west side of the spider web looking area when viewing your map. There you will find another cracked wall at a platform. Break it open to find a crystal and give it a whack.
Toss a bomb in the wall plate next to the opening and it will fall to reveal the next node switch. The next switch is located due east of that switch, inside a door. When you reach it, enter the room and break the rock in the center of the room but don’t worry about the crystal just yet. Next kill the Ampilus near you and then ride his shell to the far side of the room. Once you get there, climb the boxes on the right and push the box at the top on the far end down.
Now you can hit the time crystal and make the sand disappear. Use the Hook Beetle to pick up the electrical ball and take it to the receptacle next to the barred doorway. Hop back up the boxes and enter the node control room. Now head back to the main generator where you’ll need to hit the crystal to make it appear again. Stick in your sword and turn it first so that the symbols line up at 9 o’clock, then 4 o’clock, and finally 12 o’clock. Once all three are in position, the entrance will appear.
Head north and there will be a center bridge with a door at the far end you need to get through. To open it, use the hook beetle and grab the bomb on the pillar to knock down the plates on the left wall and then run across the sand to jump and grab the switch. Once you have, head through the center door and you will then enter a room with 2 locked doors on the left and right blocked by three headed Staldra’s and another door at the far end.
To reach the door at the far end, move a block on the left side against the wall and then climb up and go through. When in the next room, use the hook beetle to grab the bomb on the right and carry it over to the crates at the bottom of the ladder. Drop it on them and then hop over and climb up. Grab the key out of the chest and then head back to the previous room and open the door on the east wall. When you enter, make your way the left and follow the path right past the Froaks.
Climb the vine wall and go right to the ladder. Use the hook beetle to drop a bomb on the crate at the top and then climb to the pressure plate that opens the bars blocking the time crystal in the center of the room. Now the room will be full of Beamos security bots. Climb down and up the ladders until you reach the far side of the right side of the room. There will be a switch there that opens a door. Pull it and now you will need to run across the long conveyor belt that stretches out to the far side of the room. You’ll need to grab the stamina fruit along the way to be able to make it. Once over, you can head up the ladder on the left to enter the small room you opened to get the chest, but otherwise, head right and go up the conveyor and pull the switch there.
Head back down and got through the newly opened door. In the next room you will enter, you will need to traverse the tops of the blocks in the room to reach the ladder on the North side. Use bombs or the Froaks to blow up the rock piles on top of the blocks and hop your way across. When you reach the ladder, climb up and open the chest to find the Gust Bellows. In case you were wondering why there were piles of dirt everywhere, this is the item you use to clear them out and find more goodies.
Next make your way south and west across the blocks to the ladder to west. Blow the dust blocking the door and go through to the next room, move the block, climb down the ladder and head back to the room where the three headed Staldra’s were. Go to the right side of the high door in the center and use the Gust Bellows to clear the sand off of a pressure plate and the block there. Move the block on the plate and the door to the west will open.
Enter the room and then make your way along the right side to the platforms near the center and across to the far side. Use the Bellows on the big pile of dirt to reveal a time crystal and the sand in the room will dissolve. Hop on the platform behind you and use the Bellows to spin the center piece so it moves. Hop off at the other side and blow the pinwheel above the door to open it. Move to the next platform and blow the center piece so it moves to the right far enough that you can jump on it. Once you are on, blow it back to where it was and hop off the other side.
Climb the ladder there and use the Bellows on the next pinwheel beside the door and enter to find two more Staldra’s. Take them out and then go to the far right corner and blow the sand off the box there. Move it to the left and climb up to the barred door with the chest inside. Blow the big sand pile and then hit the revealed time crystal to change the area. When it changes, a robot –an Armos- on the lower level will come to life.
Use the Bellows on its head to make it rise up. When it does, hit the crystals that become visible. Hit him twice and the door to exit and the barred door with the chest, which contains the Dungeon Map, will open. Go through the door that was behind the robot and you will come out to the large main room. You can step on the blue plate to open the door, but once you do, don’t go through just yet. You can walk through the quicksand, but be sure to look at the map for the path you can take. Once you get to the far left side, clear the sand pile against the wall and crawl through the opening.
Follow the tunnel to a room full of sand and get ready for lots of blowing. There is a pressure plate near the center of the room to open the exit, but you need to clear the sand off it to get to it. Once the sand in the room has been cleared, go through and you will come to mine cart. Hit the small patch of time crystal on it and then follow the cart as it moves. Open the door it comes to with the Bellows on the pinwheel above the door and continue on.
Go all the way to the end and then go to the left to find another mine cart. Do the same thing, although this time there will be a pinwheel on the right wall that you need to spin to open the door on the right side. If you don’t get the pinwheel the first time, hit the crystal twice when it stops and go again. Go through the door when the bars are lifted and you enter the next room. Head across the conveyor belt and up the vine wall at the far end. Go to the right and use bombs to knock down the wall plates and hop across them as you do. When you get to the other side, clear the sand and hit the crystal to change the room. Head back across the plates and across the conveyor belts to the moveable platform. Spin the center to get to the far side and then look at the wall plates there. When you drop them, they will give an order of numbers.
These will be used for the other side of the room. Move the platform in the center to the right and get on and then go to the left and get off. Get on the next platform and as you pass the wall plates there, drop bombs in them to reveal the pink diamonds behind them. Hit the diamonds in order of left, right, middle and then the door at the north end will open with two Armos inside that you need to spin their heads to reveal the crystals inside. Once they are down, head in to open the chest and receive the golden circuit key. Make your way back out and down the ladder.
Go to the left of the area and then cross the conveyor belt to the right. Go through the door there on the right side and be sure to save at the bird statue. Hit the crystal on the cart and then jump on the platform using the Bellows to spin the platform, keeping up with the mine cart. When you reach the far side, use the golden key on the door to the right. Enter the room and you will face off against Moldarach, a giant scorpion.
To defeat the scorpion, hit each of the eyes in its claws when they are open. Focus on one and then the other until both have popped off. Once his claws are gone, he will then dive under the sand. Use the Gust Bellows to blow around where you see the bulge of sand moving to bring him to the surface. When he does come up, do a quick forward thrust into his eye. Keep repeating until it dies and you will get yourself another new shiny heart. When you get to the next room after defeat Moldarach, hit the crystal at the top of the ceiling in the center of the room and then hop in the mine cart to go across.
Once you are done at the Temple of Time, hop on your bird and return to the Sealed Grounds just before the Faron Woods. Talk to the old woman in the temple and she will tell you about the harp and a few other things. When all hell breaks loose, you’ll need to run outside, jump to the bottom of the pit and deal with the Imprisoned. Simply hack at his piggy’s until he falls over and then run to his head and up slash the spike three times. You will need to do this to the Imprisoned 3 times bore he can be defeated. Once he is back in his hole, jump down and strike the spike to drive it back into the ground. Head to the statue after another talk and go back to Skyloft.
Enter the academy and talk to Headmaster Gaepora about the song and he will mention the Light Tower. Head out of the academy and make your way to the windmill that is in front of the Bazaar. Use the Gust Bellows on it to turn it to the position where the shield on it lights up blue. Make your way to the far southeast of the town to talk to Jakamar there about the second windmill. He will tell you there used to be a propeller on it but it fell off. Go to the bazaar now and talk to the scrap dealer and he will regale a tale of his old robot. Give the vendor an ancient flower and the robot will then be under your control. Next up go talk to the fortune teller and he will tell you where the propeller is located.
Since it seems to be near a temple of fire, head to the Eldin Volcano and use the Temple Entrance location. Once you arrive head to the left of the temple and slide down the slope to find it on the ground next to the knocked over tower. Once you have it, head back to Skyloft and to the second windmill. Jakamar will fix the windmill and you can then use the Gust Bellows to turn this windmill just as you did the other. Once the shield on it lights blue, the top of the light tower will extend and that’s your next stop. Head over there and climb to the top. Stand in the light and then play the harp to the timing of the light on the ground. Once all that is over and done with, hop on your bird and make your way for the newly opened hole in the clouds.
Once inside the Thunderhead, drop down to the circular platform across from the tower the light is pointing to. When you land, you will need to line up the bridge pieces using the lever in the center and the three gems that control which blocks will pop up. It’s a rather simple puzzle where you just need to line up the three blocks in a row while moving which blocks pop up out of the ground to stop them from moving. Easiest way I found was to line up all three blocks and then move them all at once, stopping to lower the blocks in the path as necessary. Once the bridge is lined up, run across and crawl through the opening. Make your way down the ramp and hit the symbol with a skyward sword strike to get Farore’s Melody and to learn the next destination.
Enter Faron Woods at the viewing platform statue and then head down to the large circular patch of dirt in front of the structure there. Play the harp and the symbol for the trial gate will appear. Give it a stab and you will enter into Farore’s Silent Realm for your trial. When you start the trial, you will need to wander about and pick up 15 tears without getting caught by the Phantoms in the area. When you grab a tear, the phantoms will remain stationary, but when time runs out on the flower in the top left hand corner, they will come hunting for you.
Once you grab all 15 tears, you still need to make it back to the beginning where you started, so you will definitely want to have at least one tear remaining near the start. Once you have all 15, return to the circle and you will receive the Water Dragon Scales. These will allow you to swim underwater freely. Since you can do that now, head to the body of water near the center of the forest and dive into the cave there and swim through to the Great Tree.
Climb up the vines and then take out the Froaks floating around. Hop over to the wooden platform and use the Gust Bellows to swing back and forth. Hop off the other side and head through the door and you’ll end up outside. Climb the vines and make your way left and up to another entrance. Slice up the shield of the fatty inside and then toss a bomb to remove him. Continue up the path to the top of the tree and you will meet Yerbil after waking him with a slingshot hit.
He will tell you to find the symbol and how to get into the door to meet the water dragon. Go to the red X on your map and talk to Fi when you reach the symbol on the ground. Now make your way back to the pink door at the south of the forest with the similar symbol on it. Walk up to the door and use the Skyward power to draw a circle on it and it will open up for you.
Once you jump off the edge and land in the water, follow the sea creature to the blocked tunnel and then spin through by shaking the nunchuk. Continue following him to the next large room and then use a Froak to blow up the blocked tunnel on the left side to continue on. When you reach the next area, you will need to do a jump over the gated barrier. Dive down and then swim upwards towards the gate and spin as you reach the surface to jump out of the water and over the gate.
You will need to do the same thing in the next room too to get on top of the ledge and reach a save statue and a chest to the right, while you can also go around to the left to find a Goddess Cube. Hop into the next pool of water and follow the tunnel until you run into a large fish with some big lips. Spin into it to take it down and then wait for your friend to open the door to the Water Dragon. After the conversation, head out through the door behind her and you will then need to make your way ALL the way back to the Skyview Temple in the Deep Woods.
Once inside the temple, go to the first large room and go to the right. Swim down in the water and go through the opening on the left side wall. Climb the vines and dig in the opening at the top to find a key. Go back out to the main room and go through the center door. Now you can make your way to the right side of the next room and follow the corridor all the way to the large door where you used the golden key previously. When you enter this time however, instead of there being one skeleton, there will be three of them waiting for you.
Once you take them down, go through the final door to find the sacred spring all the way at the rear of the room where the fairies are flying about. Use your glass bottle to scoop up the water and then head back to the Water Dragon and she will lead you to the flames resting place.
When you enter the cistern, go to the right and pull the lever beside the door there. Make your way through and then swim across to the far side. Go to the left and you will come to a locked door with four stones on it. Hit the stones in the order of Top, bottom, left, right (the order can be found on in the main room with the back showing a blue mark, the rear showing a blue mark in a cave and the right hand and left hand both showing a blue mark when closed, in a specific position.) Go through the door and swim over to the vines on the far right. Climb up and then drop off onto the lily pad to the north east of the platform.
When you land, it will spin over and open a passage underneath it in the process. Swim through and spin through the wooden barricades and out through the opening at the end. Climb the vines and you will come to a chest on the other side of a door. Grab the key out of the chest and make your way back to the first room you entered into by hopping off the ledge and going left. Take the water spout up and follow the corridor around to the drop off to the doorway.
When back in the main room, head over to the center and use the key on the locked door. Go through and drop off to land on the floor below. Take out the fancy new type of skeleton and go through the door that opens. Here you will be able to get the whip. Go back out and use the whip on the plug, turning it to release a water spout. Ride it back to the top and exit back out to the main room again.
Make your way to the left of the room, where the red X is on the map, and use the whip on the lily pad near the lever on the wall, to the right of the waterfall. It will flip over giving you a platform to stand on so you can whip the lever. Do so and then jump down into the water and swim through the open fish mouth. Enter the next room and kill the spider. Once its dead, go to the barred gate and whip the lever through the bars to open the door.
Enter the next room and clear out the enemies. There is a wall to the left that you can use the harp with to reveal a symbol for healing. (hint: if you draw a heart with the sword on the wall, you get full health recovered.) Make your way up the right side of the room and use the whip to swing over to the vines. Drop down and then jump up onto the spinning cylinder. Ride it for a bit then drop down and you will then be able to whip another branch.
Do so and swing from the branch to the lever on the wall. Pull it to open the bars to the right and then climb back up the vines behind you and swing up and through the open doorway. Once through, take out the Baba’s and then whip the plug to drain the water in the center of the area. Take a dive into the center and you will enter in a new area with a spider coming to greet you, Save there and then use the Hook Beetle to snip the spider webs, sending the spiders into the water and revealing a passage at the same time. Swim through the small opening and climb up the right side. Whip the Bokoblin on the other side of the bars and you can snag the key off him for the door on the other side of the water. Jump in the water after opening the door and it will take you to another room full of lily pads.
Swim to the east side and jump out to the ledge there and whip the pad next to the vines so you can get on. Climb up and then follow the stairs to the edge. Jump off to the pad below that is in the center of the room to tip it over and then swim through the new opening. Follow it around through a tunnel full of Froaks and you will come to a ledge in the same room but on the other side. Whip the plug there and a water spout will rise in the center of the room. Make your way back down into the water, up the vines, and up the stairs again to the ledge you were at previously. Whip the pad and flip it so you can now hop across to the other side and up the stairs to get outside.
Climb the vines to the left of the doorway and you will come to a plug and a level. The lever lowers a doorway and the plug will spout water near where you entered. Head back to the right by diving in to the water. Climb up on the far ledge and then whip across the branches along the north wall to reach a chest and open door. Inside the chest is the Dungeon Map that show a purty green flame on the map. Now make your way back into the center of the area, back through the door you went into earlier that leads to the very top and very bottom. Drop all the way down to where you got the whip and go through the door there that is now open. It will take you to an underground place that is full of…zombies.
Make your way through the bodies and you will eventually come to the main area. Go up the right side and there will be a river of pink liquid to the right. Hop across the pads and turn around to see two large blue eyes staring at you. Send the Hook Beetle through to hit the pink diamonds and that will stop the waterfall of goo. Hop back across and follow the path north as far as you can and then send the hook beetle to grab the flower bomb there and carry it across to the pile of rocks on top of the pillar under the branch. Hop back across the pads and use the whip to swing from the now accessible branch to the spinning vine pillar. Climb to the top and hop the next one and then to the ledge below. Jump to the wall of vines to the right of the white sheet and whip the lever there to reverse the direction of the very fast spinning platform below.
Hop down to the top of the circular platform now and ride it to the other side. Hop off at the far end and follow the path to the next spinning pillar. Climb it and hop off on the other side. Jump to the vine wall and now you will need to reverse the hook, to spin the pillars the other way. Do so and hop down and jump to the spinning pillar and drop off when the ledge arrives below you. Now follow the path upwards to the large open area. Drop down and a ton of zombies will attack. Finish them off and then climb the thread in the center. Climb it all the way to the top and then pull the lever on the wall when you reach the top. When the platform appears, hop on it and whip the hook upwards to raise the statue.
Climb back down the thread now and return to the point where you entered the area to find a chest that contains the Blessed Idol, which is the golden key needed for the door at the very top of the center area. Once you grab it, zombies will appear and the statue will start to lower again. Run up the hill to not get squashed and then enter the door that is there now. Ride the water spouts to the top and use the key on the mechanism at the very top to open the ceiling. Run up the stairs and whip the 4 plugs there and the statue will rise some more. Once it stops, run up the stairs and you will have a little battle with a feller named Koloktos.
To defeat Koloktos, you need to run around him and wait for him to smash his arm down on the ground. When he does, target his arm joint with the whip, and pull it out of its socket. Keep repeating that until he only has two arms left. At that time, the red core on his chest will be exposed and you can run up to him and target it. With it targeted, slash at it as many times as you can and he will then pull his arms back together. Repeat that a second time and then Koloktos will change form, but the same rules will still apply. In his second form, use the pillars for cover from his attacks. When his arms slam the ground, use the whip to pull his arm out and then pick up his huge sword. Once you have it in your hands, run up to him and slash at his legs and then body and finally the red core. You will need to repeat this once more, but once you do, he will be down for good. Make your way back out with your fancy new sword after visiting the flame and you’ll need to go to the Thunderhead again.
Once you have visited the Thunderhead and crawled inside the Isle of Song again, you will have learned the tune of Nayru’s Wisdom and been told to go to the Lanayru Desert. Choose the North Desert statue to land at and the trial marker will be directly north of the stairs leading to the mining facility. Play the harp on the spot where the glowing sparkles are. This trial is just like the previous where you need to collect 15 tears to pass it. Use the same game plan as before and go for the furthest distance tears first and work your way back to the circle.
There are a couple that can be tricky and will require you to move a cart under to climb up to get as well as one in a tree that you need to roll into to shake lose. If you have trouble, the tears that have already collected will appear on the map after the first time. Once you complete it, you will receive the Clawshot which is basically a grapple for all the targets you’ve seen on the walls throughout the game. Now you’ll need to find the flame, so head for the statue at the West Desert marker and use the claw shot on the targets that are high on the wall behind the statue. Hop over the stone platforms and the grapple up to the cave entrance.
When you enter the caves, head south and you will find Golo. Talk to him and he will give you a key that allows you to enter the Lanayru Sand Seas. Go through the locked door and grapple from pillar to pillar to reach the dock. Hit the time crystal on the boat and talk to the robot captain and he will tell you a tale. Now you are ready to pilot the boat, so hop in and make your way south to his shack. When you arrive, pull up to the dock in front of it and then make your way to the right.
Hop across the stone platforms and grapple up to the platform above. Take out the baba’s and grapple to the flying plant and again over to the target on the cliff face. Climb up and place a bomb at the rock pile and go through when it is cleared. Follow the corridor through and then grapple up some more using the flying plants and targets and you will land on a platform that has a bridge and a giant Moblin on it. Either run past him or run up and over his shield and attack from the rear, and grapple over to the north.
Whip the plant in the ground to free it giving you a grapple point in the sky. Grapple to it and you will come to rest on the top of a pillar. Look to the east to find a grapple target that has a Baba above it. Use the Hook Beetle to take it down and then grapple over to it. When you land on the next platform, take out the two Furnix there and then grapple across the two plants to reach the shack. Enter in and clear out the sand using the Gust Bellows to find the chest that contains the sea chart. Fi will also tell you that there is a bug infestation on the roof and you can head up there if you want to nab yourself some Sand Cicadas. Make your way back outside and now you can use the zipline behind the shack to go back down to the boat.
Once you reach the red X on the map that indicates the shipyard, make your way to the east and enter the mining cart station. Read the instructions on the wall to get the handling of the carts down and then hop on it. Ride the cart and it will take you to the next station. Get in the next cart and you will need to ride the cart to the construction yard by leaning and picking the tracks that aren’t blocked. When you arrive, go through the door and Fi will tell you to look for a clue in the sand.
Hop down and use the Gust Bellows on the sand. SURPRISE! You found a Moldarach! Take it out using the same techniques as the previous one and then go through the door that is now unlocked. Head back over to the dock and talk to the captain and he will tell you that the next place is where the pirates are. Make your way to the north in the boat and get off at the dock to the Pirate Stronghold.
Make your way to the right side of the stronghold and you will come to a door that will lead inside. Go through, down the stairs and through the next door on the right. Follow the corridor all the way to the end until you come to the Time Orb. Pick it up and carry it south, defeating any enemies that now spawn, as well as the Beamos that blocks the doorway. Once through, enter the next room and carry the orb up the ramp and across the platforms that appear when you get close. The next corridor will have a barred door on the right and a beam barrier on the left when you get close. Drop the orb in front of the bars and run through the corridor on the left.
Pull the lever down to the left of the bars on the other side and then pick your orb back up and continue on heading south and west. In the next large room, there will be a blocked doorway directly west which can be opened by moving a crate in the southwest room on top of a pressure plate there. Leave the orb halfway between the two doors and then go move the crate on the plate. When done, go through the opening to the right and run back over to the orb and go through the now opened door.
Continue through a couple more rooms and you will finally to a room almost at the very south where you will need to place the orb against the right wall and away from the south door to not let the barrier form. Go through the doorway and into the next room to find a lever on the wall. Pull it and you can now bring the orb in to fight two Armos. Go through the door that was behind them and then place the orb in the holder in the center. Now that the mouth is open outside, go through the door that unlocks and you’ll find yourself in front of the stronghold. Head back to the dock and talk to the captain to go on yet another cruise around the sand.
Use the dowsing rod to home in on the ship but you won’t be able to see it just yet. Now you need to hit the invisible ship with your cannon 3 times. Cruise around with dowsing rod giving you directions but be sure to check very frequently as the ghost ship moves quite a bit. When the cannon reticle is flat against something that’s not there, be sure to fire quickly. After two more times, you will finally board the ship. Make your way to the door on the left side and go down the stairs. Go through the right side corridor and enter the door there. Head across the quick sand and follow the corridor around and pass the propeller fan on the right wall. Continue around the corner, down the stairs, and into the hallway covered in Arachs.
Kill them and make a right turn to find a door that will need the special key in the center. Ignore it for now and continue down the right hallway to come to a room of sand and a locked door with teal crystal on it. You can clear out the sand to find steering wheels on the floor that give the combination of hits to make, Bottom, top, bottom, right, and then the door will unlock to allow you to reach a chest. Inside will be a key, but of course not the special key.
Run all the way back up to the top of the stairs that lead out to the deck and enter the locked door there. Now you will need to face off against the captain of the ship by poking him in the gut repeatedly with your sword. You will need to drive him to the edge of the ship three times before he is finally finished. Once he is, a chest will appear and you will receive a bow for your troubles.
Head back out to the main deck and use the bow to shoot the blue target on the main mast. It will reveal a time stone at the very top. Give it a shot and the ship will revert in time. Climb up the ladder on the mast and clear out the enemies there and on the other side. Next up is to shoot an arrow at the blue target on the far right side to loosen the zipline carriage. Walk over to it and ride it up and keep repeating until you reach the top.
Stab the lock and turn upright and press A to unlock the bars below and to have the captain tell you to release his crew. Make your way back down the third zipline and head for the now unlocked door on the main deck. Enter it and make your way back down to the second floor and go through the corridor on the right. Enter the door there and go for the second door on the left side. To get past the electrical field, shoot an arrow through the vents above to hit the time stone on the mast and make them disappear. Grab the Dungeon Map from the chest and give the time stone another shoot to exit.
Continue through the corridor and enter the next door on the left. Inside, move the block onto the pressure plate and then you will be able to hop out the left most window, but ignore it for now. Go back out to the hallway and make your way back down the stairs to the room where you cleared the sand off the steering wheel symbols. Talk to the captured crew there and they will tell you that you need to restart two generators and will mark them on your map. Now make your way up to the top deck and tag the time crystal to revert time to the future.
Once everything is dusty, make your way down to the hallway with the fan on the wall and shoot an arrow through to open the door. Enter and go to the right and move the block there. It will reveal another fan hole. Walk over to the pressure plate across from it and then shoot an arrow at the target that appears. Now make your way back up to the main deck to hit the crystal again and then come down to the room where you just hit the target and turn the generator on by stabbing it.
Now go back up to the deck and climb the ladder on the far side to get to the boat on the left side of the ship. Stand on the boat and then hit the time crystal so time goes forward to dusty. When it does, hit the blue target just above the boat to lower it. Hop through the window when you are down and make a right into the room with the generator. Fire an arrow up through the vent to hit the crystal and make time past again and then operate the generator.
You can now use the lever by the door to exit the room, but come right back into the room with the windows to climb down the ladder and enter the doorway below. Follow the corridor after going through the door, forward and down the ladder to the giant blocks that are crushing into the ground. Make your way past them and the next set and you will eventually need to whip swing over on top of a few more plunging blocks. When you get to the far side of them, pull the lever on the wall and then crawl through the opening on the right. When you get through, you will come to the crew men and they will give you a key to the captain’s quarters.
Go back up to the main deck and take a shot at the time crystal to make it the future again. Now you can now go through the locked door to the east and follow the stairs down and into the open door. Fire an arrow through the ceiling vent and a Beamo will appear. Destroy it and then step on the pressure plate to open a slot in the wall. Fire an arrow through to hit the target on the far side and then go through the door on the right. Once in this room, take out the three Beamos and the bars guarding the chest will open. Grab the special key from inside the chest when you do and then make your way all the way back to the control room in the other part of the ship.
Once you enter the key, you’ll need to run back up to the main deck, while slicing a few tentacles and dodging a few barrels along the way. When you finally get to the main deck, you’ll have to fight against Tentalus, the very tentacle monster. For the first part of the battle, put your back to the corner facing the water and load up your bow. Hit each tentacle as they pop up and eventually Tentalus will emerge.
When he does pop up, avoid his tentacle slam and then shoot him in the eye. When you get him, he will fall forward leaving you time to run up and slash him in the eye ball. Repeat this three times and then a crate will fall behind you. Run up it and then hit Tentalus in the eye with an arrow and he will again fall forward. Slash at him while locked on and then back up. Now he will send his hair snakes at you which you can just hack and slash away at. Again hit him in the eye and then run forward to slash at him and that will finish him off for good.
Now that you only need one more flame, it’s back to the Isle of Song to find out where to next, but I’m sure you know where it is. That’s right, next stop: Back to Eldin Volcano. Now that you have learned Din’s Power for your Harp, it’s back to the volcano and to the Volcano Ascent statue to land right at the trial spot. Do your thing with the stabby stabby into the ground and you will be tasked with finding 15 more tears around the area.
For the most part the tears are easy to find, but there are 3 that you need to get by using the large air spout to the right of the start to nab and there are three up the slope just ahead of the start that can be tricky with all the searching phantoms in the area. One you finally nab all 15 of them, you will be rewarded with some new Fireshield Earrings. Aren’t you a pretty boy? Now make your way to the Temple Entrance (heading to the sky and using the Temple statue is the fastest way) and make your way east and then north into the cave and follow the ramp up to where you were getting burned earlier in the game. In the cave at the top and it will take you to the resting place of the last flame.
As you enter the volcano summit, head to the north on the left side and run up the slope. Hop down the far side and take out the group of Chuchus that appear. Hop across the stone platforms in the lava and go straight out the bright doorway. Use an empty bottle to scoop up some water and then head back inside. Go to the left and up the ramp to find Gorko and a doorway blocked by flames. Pour the water into the frog mouth on the right side and the flames will douse.
For the next set of flames, grapple up to the vines on the left side of the room and hop over so you are above the frog mouth. Pour the water into the mouth to put out the flames. Before you continue, you can use a bomb on the left wall where the crack is to find some rupees. Now that you are through the second flames, head forward and you will meet Gorko again who will tell you that you need a big basin to fill the frog mouth above the door to douse the flames.
Now it’s time for some back tracking. Make your way back to the spring where you filled your bottle and talk to the Mogma there. He will tell you to go to Lake Floria and Fi will say to talk to the Water Dragon to get her basin. Before you leave this water spring area, you can dive off the platform and soar to the platform behind the pillar ahead to fins a Goddess Cube sitting there. Use the statue at the temple where the blocking flames were and go to the sky and then to the green light. Once in, choose the Floria Waterfall destination and go through the cave opening to talk to the Water Dragon.
Once you have the basis, return to the sky and to the volcano. This time however, you won’t be able to pick the closest statue and will have to run all the way through the area to reach the volcano summit. You will also have to protect the robot along the way and make sure no enemies get to close to him. Thankfully it’s a rather uneventful trip and pretty straightforward. Return to the flame blocked door and the robot will pour the water into the frog’s mouth allowing you to pass.
As you enter, walk forward and notice the green bulb above the doorway. Hit it with the hook beetle or an arrow and it will drop a ball into the lava below. Hop on the platform it makes quickly and run across. When on the other side, hit the green bulb on the left side and then wait for it to pass the center and hop on. Ride it around the corner and jump off as it nears the side walkway near the wall. Kill the Bobokins there and the barred door will open allowing you to open a chest. Grab the key from inside and hop off the ledge to the locked door below. Talk to Guld before going through and he will tell you about the treasure located inside.
When inside, make your way to the right and follow the corridor around to the large circular room with a grated floor and a stone platform. Hop on the stone platform and a lava hand will raise it up allowing you to jump off to the ledge there. Follow the corridor to the right and climb up the vines. Continue on to the next set of vines and climb to the right to the ledge there. Grapple across and drop down, then go through the door on the right. When you enter, you will get attacked by a Dark Lizafo who can spew a curse at you to make your attacks ineffective.
Once you pass him, go through the next door and enter another area full of lava. In here, you’ll notice some green bulbs on the ceiling, a cave high in the wall across and to the right of where you entered, and a statue face on the far right side spewing out lava. Take the hook beetle and have it fly through the cave in the wall form the left side to the right side and grab a bomb along the way. Drive the bomb into the statues mouth and you will then be able to drop a green bulb on the lava. Once you do, ride it to the other side and enter the door on the right side, across from the locked, chained, door.
Once inside you will see a Mogma hanging from a chain. Ignore him for now and continue to the right, using the Gust Bellows to remove the patches of lava on the walkway. Grab the key from the chest at the far end and make your way back out through the door and through the locked door there. In this next room, there will be a flame barrier blocking the doorway, so head up the stairs and walk to the edge of the platform that faces the frog face.
Turn around and stab a green bulb so that you have it on your sword. Go back to face the frog face and flick the bulb at it, so that it lands on its mouth. Now that the flames are doused, head through the door and around the corner to another. When you enter this door, you will be in another round room like you were previously, with the lava hands underneath. Hop on the left most platform and ride it up to find two green bulb plants. Stab it and take it down to the ground. Wait for the hands to rise up and then flick the bulb at the hand with your sword.
When it turns to rock, hack and slash t both to destroy them and the lava will disappear. Go back through the door you entered in and go back to where the Mogma was hanging. Jump down to the level below and pull the lever to lower him. After you have received the Mogma Mitts, dig into the hole next to the fenced wall and you will have to move underground to the other side. Emerge on the other side of the fenced wall and then dig into the hole closest to the wall, near the door. When you do, there will be a red plunger to hit that will open the door above.
Go back up and through the door and up the stairs. In the next room you will find another Mogma that is captured. Burrow into the ground and there will be two doors that you need to move. Move to the top door first and then the lower and then emerge back out. Go through the open gate on the right side and grab the green bulb on your sword. Make your way to the frog face and flick it into its mouth to lower the flames below it. Enter the room now and pull the lever on the left wall to lower the Mogma. Talk to him and he will give you the Dungeon Map.
Turn to the wall behind you – the wall to the left of the door- and toss a bomb at it to reveal the secret room. When you enter, burrow down and you will find a centipede that you can kill by hitting its tail three times. Once it’s down, head for the light to emerge on the far left and come out to a room with vines, some pots, and a chest that contains a key. Now head back to the circular room where you fought the hands and go through the chain locked door there. Make a right in the next area and head down the stairs. Drop the green bulb above and hop over to the far side. Go left up the stairs and go through the door.
Make your way up the stairs on the right and burrow in to the hole on the eight in the alcove. When you are underground, catch the Mogma and he will give you a piece of heart and open the door for you. Now drop the green bulb above the lava and hop across to the save statue. Burrow in to the hole in front of it and make your way to the far end. When you are there you will need to use a bomb to break a wall that will let lava come flowing in. Race back to the exit and pop out and make your way through the door on the right to and follow the stairs down. Shoot the green bulb above and ride the platform to the left. Hop off around the corner and run up the stairs to find a statue and a stone tablet to read.
Walk to the end of the bridge and you will see two statues below in the lava, one with its eyes open and one closed. Run and jump off towards the eyes closed one and a platform will appear as you get closer. Enter the mouth and follow the stairs- using the butterflies for health if you need it- and through the next door. Inside you will have to fight against 2 Dark Lizafo’s to unlock the doors. Once they are down, hop up the ledge to the door and follow the winding stairs all the way to the top.
Enter the room with the chest and you will find a tablet that says to bring light to each statue in accordance to the number of wings each has, from least to most. Burrow into the ground and now you will need to walk over the orange lights in the order of statue wings. Start with the left most light, and then the closest after that. The next is the farthest north to the right, then the one directly south, and finally the one north to the left. Now you will have to fight the centipede like before. Once it has taken three hits to the tail, crawl back out and now you can claim the special key from the chest.
Make your way to the right side of the room and exit through the door, stepping on the pressure plate to open the door that allows you to reach the center of the area and use the golden key on the locked door. Once inside, Ghirahim will show up again for another long talk and then finally get down to battle. This battle with Ghirahim is pretty much the same as the previous battle where you’ll need to slowly move your sword to one side so that his hand doesn’t follow. When it is clear for an open shot, swing away at him. Continue to follow the pattern until he whips out his swords. When she does, he will toss his darts at you, which you can easily block with your shield or jump out of the way of. Continue to slash away at him and eventually he will have a freak out and leave.
When you are done at the Fire Sanctuary, make way to the sky and head for the Sealed Grounds once again. Go and talk to the Old Woman in the temple and lo and behold the Imprisoned will break free again. This time around, you will have the help of Groose to give you a hand. You need to do the same thing as before, hack and slash at the toes of the beast, but this time he moves a little quicker. That’s where Grosse comes in. Groose can fire his catapult at the beast to stun in for a couple seconds. When it is stunned, get in front of it and slash at its piggies. When they are all gone, you will then need to hammer the spike in its forehead. Repeat this three times and the beast will finally go down for good.
If you look at the map, you’ll notice that the Temple of Hylia is the same is the Sealed Grounds. All that happens here is a long scene about just what is happening around these parts and why you have been chasing after Zelda. Kick back and continuously press A until you need to go back through the Time Gate. When you do, Talk to the old woman and talk to Groose and then make your way back to Skyloft.
When you reach Skyloft, go to the academy and talk to the Headmaster in his room. He will tell you about a person named Levias who was lost in the Thunderhead. You will next need to talk to Instructor Owlan and he will tell you that to allow you to enter the Thunderhead, you need to master the spin charge move. He will put you through a test where you need to hit 10 targets in 120 seconds.
There’s no real trick to the test, just keep your cool and try to chain the targets one in to another without spending your time searching all over for them. Once you pass the test, you’ll then need to head out to the Lumpy Pumpkin in the far south of Skyloft. When you enter the tavern, talk to Rusta and he will tell you of a monster that appears in the graveyard at night. He tells you that hitting the tombstone closest to the tree will open a shed door that it goes into. When you are done with him, talk to Pumm and he will whip up a batch of Pumpkin soup for you to take to Levias in the Thunderhead.
Fly to the Thunderhead with the robot in tow and land on the platform that has the rainbow canopy. Once you land, a scene will play and Levias will become seen. Hop off the platform and jump on your bird and follow Levias. You will now need to pop the large eye balls that are on the sides of the beast. Once the eyes are exploded into gooey goodness, you’ll see a little head pop out of Levias’ back. Fly over his back and jump off your bird to land on the platform where the small head is appearing. Now you will have a fight against the Bilcolyte.
This fight is rather simple as all you need to do is swipe at the balls of green goo that the head spits at you. Knock back the balls to the left and right side twice and then hit it dead center when its eyeball widens. When it does, his head will fall down allowing you time to hack and slash at it. Repeat a couple more times and Levias will be back to his normal self. He will then tell you that you need to go and talk to the other dragons of the world; One in Faron Woods, Eldin Volcano, and Lanayru Desert.
When you return to the woods to talk to the dragon, you won’t be able to enter the forest from any statue. You’ll need to go to the temple in the Sealed Grounds to find out that something has happened there. However before you are able to find out what, you need to take on the Imprisoned once again. Fight him as per usual, except for the third time when you need to strike the spike in his noodle, you will need to get launched to it and then hammer the spike downwards.
Once you have dealt with the beast for the third time, you will have Groose launch you into the flooded Faron Woods. Head into the cave at the base of the great tree like you did previously and once inside, swim all the way through until you reach the air pocket. Once there, talk to the Water Dragon and she will pull a not-so nice act of blowing apart the part of the Hero Song that you need. There are now groups of notes that you’ll need to gather while swimming under water. There is no rhyme or reason to their placement, but there are two notes that are tricky to get.
One is behind a pile of rocks that you need to have a froak blow up near and another under a lilypad that you will need to turn over by jumping off the tree ledge above the water. The rest of the notes can be picked up easily enough by spinning past them to pull them towards you. Once you have filled the sheet music with all the notes, head back up to the tree and enter the cave in the side of it that you exited out of. Talk to the water dragon and she will fulfill her part of the bargain and give you the part of the song.
Upon your return to the volcano, you’ll notice that some strange stuff seems to be going down. When you land, you’ll wake up in a prison cell. Roll around to break the pots for some health and then pick up the barrel. When you do, Plats, the Mogma will appear from the ground and give you your Digging Mitts. Burrow into the ground and emerge from the other side and if you need it, there is a stool in the hut to the left to rest on. If not, head to the east through the tunnel there and you will run into Plats again. He will tell you about the area and then label your objects on your map.
The first object you can nab is the Gust Bellows, so make your east and sneak past the first guard. Once past him, you’ll need to burrow into the ground and emerge on the other side. Once out, follow the canyon around to the left and hop off the ledge. Burrow again and you will emerge near the chest to the north of the tower there. Grab the bellows and then continue up the cliff ledges behind the watch tower. On the next stretch of path, there will be two guards walking. Sneak up past the first one and use the hut to the left to hide. Sneak past the next one and there will be a hole to burrow into just past him, near the fence. When you emerge, hop down to the chest and get your Clawshots.
Use it on the flying plants right next to you and zoot over to the vines on the far side. Climb up and then hop down to the floating platform and then hop off to the right. Climb up the ledge there and make a left around the corner and zip over to the vines. Climb up and there will be some bomb flowers there that you need to roll towards the watch tower. When it blows up, grab the whip out of the chest and head north to the gate. Whip the plant on the other side of the bars and the plant will rise, allowing you to grapple over. Drop and save and then head to the east where you’ll find some bombs and a destroyable rock wall. Blow up the wall and then there will be another pile of rocks behind it to blow up by rolling a bomb at it.
Ride the now unblocked air spout up and head north through the cave. When you come to the wooden bridge, go halfway across and then hang off the edge and drop off to the floating platform below. Float around the corner, down the slope and then hop off to the right side. Pick up a bomb when a platform is close, and then hop on it and toss the bomb flower at the tower across from you. When it falls over, open the chest for your slingshot. Now grapple back up the slope and make your way left when you reach solid ground. There will be a few enemies here that you need to shoot with the sling shot so you can slip past them to reach the chest behind the watch tower.
Tag the tower guard and then burrow into the hole that the light was on and you will emerge at the chest where your Bomb Bag is located. Now that you have your bomb bag, you can make your way to the Summit entrance on the east side of the map. Blow apart the rock piles and go through and you will see your sword directly in front of you. Make your way to the right and hop over the lava by stepping on the platform that floats by. Go up the stairs and jump to the left. Stab the green bulb and carry it into the next room and flick it into the lava to create a platform. Hop over to the other side and fight the enemies there before opening the chest to grab your pouch which has the rest of you items in it.
Make your way up the ledges directly across from the chest and blow up the rock pile to slide down the slope. Go to the left again and hop across the floating platform one more time and head up the stairs. In the next room, use the hook beetle to hit the two gears on each side of the door and the one to the right on the side you are standing on. When the bridge lowers, run across and talk to the fire dragon inside. Once you have a chat with it, the second part of the song will be yours.
When you reach the desert again, talk to Golko right at the entrance and he will tell you he has found the entrance to the Thunder Dragon. Go forward along his ledge and grapple through the canyon to enter the Lanayru Mines. To the south, there will be a hole to crawl through that is blocked by rocks. Roll a bomb through and then get to crawling through to the doorway on the other side and enter the gorge.
Equip the hook beetle and use it to grab a bomb flower from atop the cactus on the right and destroy the rock pile on the pillar that leads over to the locked door. To get the key for the locked door, use the hook beetle and fly past the dragon bones and down into the gorge to find a platform down below with the key resting on it. Pick it up with the beetle and you will receive it. Hop across to the locked door and then hit the crystal in the cart. Now you will need to follow the cart along the tracks as it changes time. At each door, you’ll need to press the blue pressure plate to open the door. At the second door, you’ll need to climb the vines on the right to find it.
Drop down and run through the door and across the blocks that appear. Go left and up the vines to another platform and across to the far side where a baba will appear. Kill it and then grapple to the vines on the other side to find the blue button there. Grapple across the tunnel again and then shimmy to the left, avoiding the wind spouts, until you reach the blocks that appear under you. When you do, hit the next blue button and then you will need to grapple form left to right all the way down the tunnel to the next door. Grapple to the vine at the end and drop down to go through.
Continue following the cart and after a couple of whip jumps over gaps, you will come to a door that has two heart flowers on the right and a lever high up on the wall. Run up the right side of the hill, through the quicksand, picking up the stamina fruit along the way to get to the lever. Pull it down and then quickly drop down and follow the cart into the next room. In here you will need to take down a few Beamos, and then whip the lever that was behind the Beamo to the left of the door.
Once through the door, hop over the blocks that appear and take out the Baba’s. When the cart stops, use the hook beetle to grab a bomb flower to the right of the cart and drop it on the pile of rocks. Continue on, killing the rest of the Baba’s that appear. When you reach the other side, the cart will park and the area will revert time.
Talk to the Thunder Dragon and he will be sick and talk about the tree of life. Make your way over to the bridge to the north east and run across the sand to the tree. Blow the sand out of the way and hit the crystal there. Grab the seedling from the ground and be sure to get the Goddess cube in the corner. Change time back and then return to the bridge, hitting the crystal on the cart with your hook beetle and the entrance area.
Now that you have the seeding, you need to plant it somewhere where it has TIME to grow. Head to the sky and then to the Sealed Ground and enter the Time gate inside the temple. When you are back in time, go the left and plant the tree in the dirt there. Go back through the gate and roll into the now grown tree to get the fruit. Once you have it, head back to the sky and to the Desert Gorge to talk to the Thunder Dragon.
Once you have had your chat with him, go to the sky and back to the Thunderhead. When you enter, look on the map for the position of Levias and fly over to him. Dive off your bird when directly over him and land on his back and he will sing the last part of the song for you. Once he’s done, you’ll need to endure the last trial, so leave the Thunderhead and return to Skyloft. Make your way to the light tower and the entrance to the trial will be to the right of it.
Now that you are in the silent realm of Skyloft, you need to do the same thing as the previous three trials and collect 15 tears without getting caught or spotted by the phantoms. Thankfully this trial is easier than the rest have been and there is only one tear that should be any trouble at all. At the knight’s academy, there is a tear that you need to move a box under to be able to grab it, but other than that, the rest are a breeze. Once you have collected them all, you will receive the Stone of Time.
Now that you have the stone, you need to place it with the other. If you may have noticed in your travels there is a statue on the island that has one red eye. Make your way to the far Northeast platform by hoping across the three platforms and walk to the statue of the one eyed bird. Once it does its thing, grapple over to the newly formed building and enter.
This area can get a little confusing at first. When you enter, walk up to the table on the left side and it will show a series of blocks in a sliding puzzle. These blocks represent the rooms that you will need to go through to get to the three TriForce pieces. Below are the rooms and the ways to get through each.
This room will require you to go to the far right side and then use the hook beetle to free the rope on the far side. Once the rope is free, whip to the branch and then jump to the rope and swing over to the far side. Grapple to the vine covered cylinder on the left and wait for it to turn and grapple to the next. When on the second cylinder, grapple to the target and drop down. Now use the hook beetle to grab the bombs on the cylinder and fly them to the fire breathers that are shooting flames towards the ropes. Now swing on the rope and land on the wooden platform. Use the Gust Bellows to swing the platform over to the ledge. Hop off and use the lever to make the room easily accessible next time and go through the door.
Grab the orb form the pedestal and walk to the right. Drop in in the lower left corner and climb up the ladder to the lever and pull it. Stand on the pressure plate on the lower level and toss the orb through the opening. Climb back up the ladder and grab the orb at the top. Place the orb on the movable platform and then walk along the left side while using the bellows to move the platform to the left. Stand on the plate to open the gate and continue moving it to the far side. Grapple up to the target to get around the closed gate and then grab the orb again. Move to the next conveyor belt and toss the orb on it again. Let the orb ride along the conveyor and you will then need to shoot the blue targets that then appear along the top wall. When you do, the gated door to the right will open.
In the room with the curved dragon arch to the left, you’ll need to crawl through a hole in the wall to the left to find some bombs. If you don’t need them, then roll one through to destroy a blocked passage at the end and crawl through. When in the next room, burrow in the corner and hit the plunger to open the gate. Head back through the crawl passage and go the left. Pass through the now open gate and take out the Lizafo. To the left there will be a tablet that tells you to hit the gems from lowest to highest- meaning the pink diamonds that are hidden behind the wall plates that you need to lower by tossing a bomb in to the their basket.
Toss one in the basket on the plate to the left and then look to the right. There will be a winding slope there with a wall plate at the bottom. Roll a bomb down the slope so that it lands in the basket to reveal another set of gems. Slide down to the opening and climb the wall of vines to the top. Shoot the bomb directly across from you behind the trees and they will blow up. Now you can grab the bomb with the hook beetle and drop it into the basket of the wall plate on the left. Now hit the lowest gems, the middle gems, and then the highest set and the barred door will open. Go through and burrow at the hole and then hit the plunger to move the gate. Emerge from the same hole and then go through the doorway and burrow into the next hole in the corner. Defeat the two centipedes inside and emerge through the exit on the right side.
Thankfully there is only one enemy in this room and it is the cheery old Pirate Captain that you faced earlier on the ship. Simply repeat the same attacks, forward stabbing- although doing crazy waggles works just as well- to push him off the edge. Push him off three times and you will receive a key that is used for the Green TriForce room.
To get this piece of the Triforce, you’ll need to ride on three platforms over the lava. For the first two, it’s pretty straight forward in hitting the green bulbs above to create the platforms and hit the pink diamonds to raise the lava levels on the other side on the barred passages. When you get to just before the third platform, you will be on a rising platform that goes up and down on a pillar of lava. Use the hook beetle to hit the same pink diamonds that you did previously to raise the lava level on the other side of the fence. When the platform is starting to rise, shoot the green bulb to create a platform below and you’ll ride it to a metal bridge. Hop on it and back onto the platform and cruise to the end. Grapple off to the left and stab the symbol on the ground to find the TriForce piece.
When you enter, run up the ramp on the right and grab the time orb. Go back down to the ground and take the orb to the far left side of the room, under the covered hole on the wall that has an arrow target behind it. Run back up the slope of the right side and shoot the target to open the barred doors. Go and grab the orb and take it through the now open door and carry it down the tunnel. Make your way past the Baba’s and drop the orb in the corner to the left. Go around the bend and step on the pressure plate there to open a sliding door and to get a target to appear.
Aim through the fan which should not be turning now and hit the target. Now make your way to the main room and drop the orb just under the grapple target that appeared above. Head back to the beginning of the room and up the ramp. Jump over to the platforms that have appeared and grapple to the target. If the orb was over far enough, the door to the symbol will be gone allowing you to collect the blue triforce piece.
Once you have the key from the Ship Captain that you got in the room with doorways on the left and bottom, you can unlock the door and enter the few rooms in this square. The first room will have 2 Moblins in it on a narrow bridge. Run over them and take them out from behind to have the door open for you. In the next room, there will be a skeleton and loads of regular Bokoblins. Wipe them all out for the next door to open and the next room will have zombie Bokoblins and a golden Skeleton. Finally once they are all dead, the final room with the green triforce will open. Grab it and get ready for some action.
After the hubbub, you will be back in the Sealed Ground and will need to go through the time gate once again. Go through and make your way down the spiral ramp to the bottom. Along the way there will be a massive amount of enemies to face, but thankfully nothing too tough. When you reach the bottom, you will then face off against Ghirahim once again. To defeat him, at first wait for his attack then dodge. When he misses, attack with a barrage of attacks to push him off the edge. When he falls, jump down and do a fatal strike. You will need to do this three times to him. Once you reach the ground, it gets a bit trickier. Now he will have his sword and he’s not nice with it.
You now need to stab him in his diamond chest gem and the easiest we seems to be to bash his sword strike and then thrust at him when he stumbles. Keep doing that repeatedly, while also getting out of the way when he sends out his wave attacks. Once you have jabbed him enough times, he’ll bring out the big sword. Attack him and he will block with his sword, allowing you to cut away at it. When he changed its direction, follow suit and keep hacking. Finally when you have chopped the sword enough, he will fall.
When you are ready for the final battle of the game, jump in the center of the pit and you will face off against Demise in his two forms. For the first form, make sure you have a shield and make sure it has some life left in it. This part of the battle is rather simple as all you need to do is block Demises attacks and then counter right away. If you do a quick three blocks and counters, you will stun him and you will then be able to unleash a flurry of attacks on him. Once you hit him enough times, he will fly backwards and then his second form will attack. This time he will have lighting charges in his sword and will toss it at you as well as do a full body charge at you.
Keep your targeting locked on him and raise your sword so that it gets stuck by lightning. If it doesn’t get struck right away, move backwards until it does. When it gets hit, flick your sword to shoot it at Demise. When it hits, it will stun him and leave him open to a chain of attacks. You will need to hit him three times with the lightning attack to knock him down. When Demise does his charge attack, simply keep jumping backwards to avoid his hits. Once he gets knocked down, flick the two controllers forward for the fatal strike but the first couple times he will roll out of the way. When you get him a third time, you will plunge your sword into him and the game will roll its final scenes.
