Skylanders: Swap Force hat locations guide

Skylanders: Swap Force offers both collectibles and customization with hats. Hats not only give your Skylanders unique looks, but they also boost their stats. There are lots to find over the game's 17 chapters, so finding them all can be tricky. Lucky for you, we've found them all! Check out our Skylanders: Swap Force review, then follow along to collect them all.

Note: Some hats require Skylanders of a certain element. If you do not have one available, you will not be able to collect them.

Many hats are collected through Swap Zones; however, not every Swap Force character has been released yet. Until we can get our hands on every figurine, this guide will remain "in progress." Check back for updates!

Woodburrow

Puma Hat (+10 Armor, +2 Critical Hit %, +10 Elemental Power)

From the start of the zone, turn around and take the path leading away from Rufus. At the end of this short path is a cleverly hidden hat.

Turkey Hat (+50 Maximum Health)

Climb the Mushroom Stairway in the center of the hub world. When you reach Treetrunk Peak, move out onto the branch and use the launch pad. You'll be sent into the pool below, teleporting you to a secret platforming level. Make your way across the platforms to receive this hat.

Mount Cloudbreak

Stovepipe Hat (+5 Armor, +2 Critical Hit %, +5 Elemental Power)

Fairly early in the level, you'll be introduced to Elemental Gates. The one presented to you is for a Life Skylander, so use one to open the path. Free the caged sheep and take out the Greebles beyond to receive this.

Greeble Hat (+20 Maximum Health)

In Tangled Thicket, you'll reach the game's first Swap Zone. Use a character with the Rocket ability to activate it. Fly through the obstacle course to receive another hat as a reward.

Cascade Glade

Glittering Tiara (+6 Speed, +2 Critical Hit %, +10 Maximum Health)

Upon exiting Shadow Spelunk, you'll be met with an Undead Elemental Gate. Use an Undead Skylander to open the way, and you'll learn that some Evilized Greebles stole Skully's top hat. Follow the path to battle the Greebles and retrieve the hat, then return to Skully for a hat of your own.

Mudwater Hollow

Boater Hat (+3 Speed, +20 Maximum Health)

When you reach Froghollow Fishin' Pond, look west for a path that extends around the water. Follow it to reach a Swap Zone. Use a Swap Force character with the Rocket ability, and complete the obstacle course for this reward.

Rampant Ruins

Boonie Hat (+10 Elemental Power, +10 Maximum Health)

Immediately upon entering the Simian Throne Room, you'll see an Earth Elemental Gate to your right. Use an Earth Skylander to open the path, then proceed forward to the block puzzle. While avoiding the spears, push block A forward, then left. Once it's in place, push block B forward and block C twice to the right. Hop across the blocks to reach the next area.

In here, push block A forward, then push block B forward, right, and forward twice. Proceed through the rest of the area to reach your prize.

Iron Jaw Gulch

Gaucho Hat (+10 Armor, +10 Elemental Power, +10 Maximum Health)

When you land in Impenetrable Fort after destroying the first airship, you'll be near a dual Air/Tech Elemental Gate. Use a Swap Force character with these elements (or two appropriate Skylanders, if you're playing co-op) to open it. Complete the shifting course inside to obtain this.

Motleyville

Roundlet (+5 Armor, +5 Elemental Power, +20 Maximum Health)

You'll find this after Baron Von Shellshock blows up the bridge. Hop onto the first ledge from the mine cart and look left to spot a Fire Elemental Gate. Use a Fire Skylander to open the gate, and complete the course inside to earn this hat.

Twisty Tunnels

Peacock Hat (+10 Armor, +10 Elemental Power, +10 Maximum Health)

Upon entering Serene Walkway, you'll see a Water Elemental Gate to your left. Use a Water Skylander to open the way, and complete the challenge inside to earn this.

Boney Islands

Fishbone Hat (+9 Speed, +7 Critical Hit %)

After battling the Loose Cannons, you'll be near Magic Elemental Gate. Use a Magic Skylander to open the path, then complete the course inside (it's pretty simple).

Bearskin Cap (+5 Critical Hit %, +10 Elemental Power, +10 Maximum Health)

When you reunite with the caravan outside of the Security Hutch, cross to the Swap Zone before joining them. Use a character with the Rocket ability to complete the course and earn this.

Winter Keep

Ski Cap (+6 Speed, +30 Maximum Health)

When you reach Hibernal Harbor, make a left to reach a dual Air/Life Elemental Gate. Use a Swap Force character combination (or two appropriate Skylanders, if you're playing co-op) to open the way, then make your way through the course beyond to earn this hat.

Frostfest Mountains

Beacon Hat (+15 Elemental Power, +30 Maximum Health)

When you reach Ice Break Atolls, leap directly across the icy chunks in the river to reach an Air Elemental Gate. Use an Air Skylander to open the gate and clear the course inside. You'll receive the hat as a reward.

Fantasm Forest

Flower Garland (+10 Critical Hit %)

After battling the Missile Mauler at Fantasm Beach, you'll be near a Tech Elemental Gate. Use a Tech Skylander to open the path, then complete the course inside to earn this.

Kaos' Fortress

Asteroid Hat (+60 Maximum Health)

When you escape the first tank in Flooded Containments, you'll be near a Water Elemental Gate. Use a Water Skylander to open the way, then beat Mister Chompy inside to receive this.
