Nuvema Town

Nuvema Town

After choosing your gender and naming your character you'll get a scene and be introduced to your two friends Bianca and Cheren. Then you'll be given the option to choose your opening Pokemon.

Snivy - Level 5 Grass Type
Tepig - Level 5 Fire Type
Oshawatt - Level 5 Water Type

I choose Tepig as Fire type is a good power level for the game. Your two friends will each choose one of the other Pokemon. After you choose you'll fight each of your friends, one at a time, just to get your acquainted with the battle system. These are easy battles and you'll be healed in between. Just keep hitting and you'll win.

Then the three of you will go downstairs and your Mom will give you a Xtransceiver. This is your communication device for the game. There is a TV in the living room there if you want to watch some of the many shows that are on. Head out of your house and down and to the left. That's Bianca's house and you just need to go inside to get Bianca to leave. Afterwards head to the upper left to Professor Juniper's Lab. She'll give you the Pokedex. Right after that leave the Lab and your Mom with give the Town Map.

Juniper also has some TMs for you when you see a certain number of Pokemon. Come back at 25, 60, and 115.

Then head to the upper right for Route 1.

Route 1

Route 1

Tall Grass - Lillipup / Patrat
Tall Grass (Rustling) - Audino
(Req: Cut) Dark Grass - Herdier / Scraggy / Watchog
(Req: Surf) Water Surface - Basculin
(Req: Surf) Water Surface (Ripples) - Basculin
(Req: Rod) Fishing - Basculin / Feebas
(Req: Rod) Fishing (Ripples) - Basculin / Feebas / Milotic

As you get to Route 1 Juniper will be waiting for you and show you how to catch Pokemon. Same as always, get their HP down, use a ability like sleep if you can, and then throw a Pokeball.

Very rarely the grass with be shaking. This means that a Audino is in there. They are not that great for keeping but give really good EXP when beat.

Half the route is blocked off until you get Surf so head North and work the Route for a few levels to give yourself an early advantage over the next set of battles. I got up to level 8 using your house to heal and just fighting the two available Pokemon Lillipup and Patrat.

Grab the Potion from the guy standing in the Tall Grass on the right.

Once you're comfortable with battling and your level go to the top of Route 1 and talk to Bianca and Cheren. If you captured both then you win the giant prize of nothing. So no big deal. Then the Xtransceiver will ring and Professor Juniper will let you know she is waiting for you at the PokeCenter.

When you first get to town Professor Juniper will show you around town and tell you about the Pokemon Center and the Poke Mart which are both in the same builing now. While inside the Pokemon Center check your PC to get a Mail message from Bianca. As you leave the Center you will see a speech being given by Ghetsis of Team Plasma. Then a boy named N will speak you and you'll have a quick battle.

BATTLE:
N - lvl 7 Purrloin

This battle just serves to introduce you to N. It's a very straight forward one on one battle.

Next head to the house in the upper right above the Pokemon Center and talk to both people to get new soundtrack options for Drums and Piano. Go to the second floor of the northwest and get a free Poke Ball from the man there. On the way West to Route 2 you can stop by the bulletin board to see some info. Be sure to check these in every city for helpful hints.

Route 2

Route 2

Tall Grass - Lillipup / Patrat / Purrloin
Tall Grass (Rustling) - Audino

As you start on Route 2 your Xtransceiver will ring and your Mom will come to give you the Running Shoes so that you can travel faster while holding the B button.

The only new Pokemon on this route is Purrloin. A low level Dark Pokemon. Not really for using but fine for catching.

There is a Potion in the middle of the Tall Grass on the left. Then three trainer battles with Youngster Jimmy, Lass Mali and Youngster Roland. Go to the right past Roland and up the stairs and around to a Potion and a Poke Ball. As you almost get to Striaton City you'll have another battle with your friend Bianca. This time she has two Pokemon. A level 6 and a 7.

The gym is on the right as you enter the city but the gym leader is not home. Typical Pokemon gym leader. So lead to the far left of the 3 buildings to the school. Talk to Cheren you is leading the class for a quick battle. He'll give you 3x Oran Berries for the victory. Then talk to the kid on the right, he'll quiz you about status heals. Get both answers right (Antidote, Awakening) and he'll give you a Full Heal. We could take on the gym right now but there is a free pokemon that will automatically shore up your main's weakness so head out of two to the right to the Dreamyard.

The Dreamyard

Striaton City

Not much to do the first time you come to the Dreamyard. You'll fight two easy Trainer battles on the way to the reason we even came here. The third guy is going to give us a free pokemon. Since my main is Tepig I get a Pansage. If you had Snivy you'd get a Panpour and Oshawatt gets you Pansear. The reason we want this pokmon on your team is that it helps you against your main's weakness for the coming gym battle. Before leaving head into the small area on the right to get a X Defend. Let's head back to Striaton City for this gym battle.

Striaton City - Trio Badge Gym Battle

Trio Badge

Back in town head to the gym. The puzzle here is to choose the type that is strong against the one on the curtain. First off choose water and face off against Waiter Maxwell with a lvl 11 Lillipup. Next curtain is Leaf with Waitress Tia and her lvl 10 Patrat and lvl 10 Purrloin. Final curtain is Fire and it's leader time. You can pull back to the center if need be to heal.

TRIO BADGE BATTLE
Who you fight is going to depend on your starting pokemon. You get that a lot in this verson.

SNIVY - Leader Chili - Lvl 12 Lillipup & lvl 14 Pansear
TEPIG - Leader Cress - Lvl 12 Lillipup & lvl 14 Panpour
OSHAWATT - Leader Cilan - Lvl 12 Lillipup & lvl 14 Pansage

Recommended level: 17

Start with your starter against the Lvl 12 Lillipup.  Switch out for your Panpour/Pansage/Pansear for the second battle and it will be pretty easy. Afterwards you'll get TM93 - Work Up.

Striaton City Cleanup

As you leave the gym Fennel will stop you and give you HM01 - Cut. You have to have this on a Pokemon with you at all times. There are a LOT of trees that you need to cut down just to get to the next areas. Follow Fennel to her lab at the second floor of the building that is just south of the gym. She request that you go back to the Dreamyard and get her some Dream Mist.

Before we head over there let's get some items from town. Down the far left is a man who will give you a Dusk Ball. There is a X Speed in a ball in the bottom left of the town. There is also a Great Ball in the lower left of the garden.

Then head back to The Dreamyard.

The Dreamyard - Part 2

The Dreamyard - Part 2

Tall Grass - Lillipup / Patrat / Munna
Tall Grass (Rustling) - Audino / Musharna

Use Cut on the tree to get into the area and Bianca will come out to help. Head inside to see Munna and a couple of Team Plasmid Grunts will show up. Take them out one at a time in two minor Trainer battles and then Ghetsis will show up and reprimand them. Fennel will come over and get the Dream Mist and then take off.

Grab the items in the area before leaving. There is a Potion, Repel, Parlyz Heal and a Poke Ball. One to the left in the grass, one on the left of the top area, one on the top of the right area, and then one in front of broken wall.

Then go back to Striaton City and up to the top floor of Fennel's place again to get your C-Gear and then top floor of Pokemon Centers is open. Now it's time to move on. Head north to Route 3.

Route 3

Straight ahead of you as you start the route is the Pokemon Daycare. At this stage you can drop off 1 pokemon to level up as you wonder the world. The next building over is a Preschool. This is your local healing area. Just talk to the girl straight ahead in the front door. There are 4 basic trainers in the playground to the left.

As you leave the preschool area you'll have your first 2 on 2 battle against 2 lvl 10 Purrloins. Then Cheren will come up and have a battle with you also.

SNIVY - lvl 14 Tepig & lvl 12 Purrloin
TEPIG - lvl 14 Oshawatt & Lvl 12 Purrloin
OSHAWATT - lvl 14 Snivy & lvl 12 Purrloin

After that Team Plasma Grunts will run past you to the west. It seems they have stolen a young girls pokemon. Grab the Super Potion above you in the grass picking up the two new pokemon. Head to the left, but before enter Wellspring Cave go to the top right and fight Pokemon Breeder Adelaide to get a Oran Berry.
Then grab the Repel as you make your way out of the grass and into the Wellspring Cave.

Not a whole lot to do here until you get Surf. Fight the Grunt and then the 2 on 2 battle. After that you can get the new pokemon in the cave and make your way around to TM46 - Thief.

Route 3 - Part 2

Route 3 - Part 2

Back outside you'll have a scene with your friends where you fought Cheren before and you'll get 10 Heal Balls for helping out. These heal the Pokemon after capture. Head south to a Trainer battle and then grab the Antidote in the grass. A little farther south your friend Cheren will let you know that darker grass may contain dual battles but there is nothing special in there at this time.

Another trainer battle and then grab the Great Ball in the grass right before you go on the bridge. A battle on the bridge, then a Awakening after the bridge to the South and finally one more Trainer battle and you'll get yourself to Nacrene City.

Cheren will give you a VERY brief look at the city and then hand over some Chesto Berries.

The building two to the right of the Center has a woman on the first floor that will tell you how happy your Pokemon are. On the second floor is a person who will trade you a Cottonee for your Petilil. (There will be one in the next area.) It's the opposite in Black.

Speak to the woman on the left in the far left house to get a free item. Tepig = Charcoal, Snivy = Miracle Seed & Oshawott = Mystic Water.

If it happens to be Wednesday in the game you can get a free Soda Pop in the cafe. It is a healing item that gives back 60 HP. Then talk to the man just outside the cafe on the deck to get the accordion added to the soundtrack.

Finally as you try to enter the gym you'll be attacked by N again. His line up this time is a lvl 13 Pidove, lvl 13 Tympole & a lvl 13 Timburr. This battle should be no problem if you've been leveling up.

Nacrene City - Basic Badge Gym Battle

Basic Badge

As you walk into the gym the front part is actually a museum and you'll be given a short tour before getting to the gym part.

Inside the gym you'll get a welcome gift of Fresh Water. This puzzle has you reading books and battling trainers. Right away School Kid Carter and his lvl 17 Patrat. Then go up the front left ladder and read the book. Then read the middle left book. Then fight the far back left Scientist Satomi and her lvl 17 Herdier. Read the book afterwards. Now read the front right book and then battle the girl right in front of that. School Kid Lidia has 3 pokemon. All lvl 15 Lillipups, After that read the book and the enterance to the gym leader will be revealed.

BASIC BADGE BATTLE

Lenora - Lvl 18 Herdier & lvl 20 Watchdog

Recommended level: 23

Both of these are normal type Pokemon so Fighting type moves will do major damage. My Tepig leveled up with a Fighting move so it was no trouble. If you are not so lucky you might want to head to Pinwheel Forest and get the TM94 Rock Smash first.

Once done you get the Basic Badge and TM67 Retaliate. Right after the battle you'll get into a scene where Team Plasma is stealing the Dragon Skull from the museum. Head back up there and watch it all play out. Before you leave Biance will give you the Dowsing MCHN to help you find hidden items. Then head outside where everyone will meet up and you'll be told to here to Pinwheel Forest to find the Dragon Skull.

Tall Grass (Rustling) - Audino / Sawk [W] /Throth [B]
Dark Grass - Pidove / Sawk [B] /Throth [W] / Timburr / Tympole

So much to do here. First off talk to the girl right away and she will give you TM94 Rock Smash. The very next girl down by the grass is a Nurse. Beat her Pokemon and she will heal you whenever you get into trouble in the Forest. Head to the east around the fence to get the Ether.

The actual way to continue the story is to just head east to the internal Forest area but we want to get everything we can right? So instead head south and fight all the low level trainers. EVERYONE in this area is a trainer. Get the Great Ball at the end of the railroad tracks before moving further south. When you get to the big rock you need a Pokemon with Fighting-type attacks to hit to get Star Pieces once a day. These sell for some good money. Then grab the Net Ball on the way back to the road to get to the next area.

As you head into  the main Forest area you'll be stopped by Burgh. He'll decide to take the straight and easy road and leave you to wonder the forest, Nice.  Again there are a TON of trainers. EVERYONE is a trainer. Don't be scared to go back to the Nurse if you need to. Right as you enter the forest path you'll have a 2 on 2 but all the rest are simple standard battles.

Don't forget to get a Petilil if you want to trade in Nacrene City for a Cottonee. Then head down in the first grass area to get a Big Root. The trainers are going to be a mixture of Team Plasma Grunts and Rangers. The Rangers are invisible at times but when you defeat them they at least give you some berries. Get the Super Potion on the left after the first Ranger.

Grab the Antidote from the hollow stump, then fight the Ranger and finally head through the hollow tree. Go under and around the angled tree fighting the Ranger and then up through the angled tree to fight the Grunt. Get the Parylz Heal from the next stump.

Now go down first to get the TM86 Grass Knot before heading through the next hollowed tree North to the showdown. The grunt has a lvl 14 Patrat, lvl 14 Sandile & a lvl 14 Patrat. You'll get the Dragon Skull back which Lenore will come and get from you right away. She'll give you a Moon Stone for your troubles. Grab the Miracle Seed on the way back to the road. The east side is blocked off for now so head north to the Skyarrow Bridge.

Skyarrow Bridge

This is a long footbridge to get to Castelia City. Make sure to talk to the Hiker that is in the Pinwheel side gate to get a Quick Claw. Then just make the long trek across.

Castelia City

Castelia City

Lots and lots of little things to do in Castelia City that don't really have anything to do with the main story line. You want to skip to the next section to get to the main story feel free.

1) Head down to the Cruise Ship dock as soon as you enter the city. The man there will ask you what Pan-Pokemon you have and give you it's evolve stone for free. Pansage - Leaf Stone, Pansear - Fire Stone & Panpour - Water Stone.

2) On Castelia Street, the first street you get to, go into the building on the right which is the Game Freak building. Talking to the couple by the desk they will add Zorua to your Pokedex.

3) In the same building head up to the 22nd floor to talk to some of the game designers of the very game you are playing.

4) In the building opposite Game Freak is a woman who will give one of your Pokemon a massage once a day. This makes them more happy.

5) There is a man on the left of the second floor of the PokeCenter that will give you items based on the number of people you have traded Pokemon with. If you manage to trade with 50 of your friends you can get a Master Ball!

5 = Wide Lens
10 = Everstone
20 = Zoom Lens
30 = Choice Scarf
40 = PP Max
50 = Master Ball

6) Talk to the womain in Studio Castelia down Mode Street. It's the second street. She will ask you daily to show here a specific type of Pokemon. If you do she will give you some Berries.

7) On Tuesdays you can get a Casteliacone for 100. It is a full status heal item. This stall is opposite the Studio.

8) Fight your way to the top of the Battle Company building which is in the middle of the main road. On the 55th floor in the back right corner is the boss. If you beat his Pokemon he will give you a Share EXP. This item gives experience to the Pokemon that is holding it regardless if he was part of the battle or not. Great for leveling up back-up Pokemon. I put this on Patrat to get him to lvl 20 to become Watchog so he gets False Swipe. A great attack that always leaves the opponent with 1 HP so it's easier to catch!

9) Head down the Narrow Street. Third from the left. And a man will jump out and give you TM70 Flash. This ability is used to light up caves.

10) Head int the Passerby Analytics HQ to become a statistician. Take all 8 quizzes (answers don't matter) and get a Soda Pop for a TON of clicking.

11) Head to the top of the city and talk to the dancer there. Beat him and he'll ask you to get the other 2 dancers. One is in the Narrow Street you got Flash in and the other is at Unity Pier. Unity is the second from the left. Beat them all and then head back to the fountain and they will give you the Amulet Coin. This item gives double money for wins when held by the lead Pokemon.

Castelia City - Story Related

Castelia City - Story Related

Now that you got all the optional things out of the way that you wanted to do we can get that badge. As you try to enter the gym on the right of the far left street Burgh will come out to meet you. It seem there is yet another problem with Team Plasma.

Follow him down to the Pier and you'll be told Team Plasma stole all of Bianca's Pokemon. You need to find there base and it happens to be across the street from the gym. You will have to fight a grunt to get in but once inside they simply give her Pokemon back. Iris will give you a Yache Berry for your help. Also grab the  Smoke Ball inside their hideout.

Time to go to the Castelia City Gym. The gym is set up like a honeycomb and you can walk through the honey walls. Go forward through the first wall and hit the switch on the floor. The go right hitting all the switches and fighting a trainer. That will raise the gates for you to go on. Just hit all the switches as you go and walk through all the honeywalls as they become open until you get to the end.

As you move forward on the main road you'll have a battle with Cheren.

Then a Hyper Potion to the left side of the construction area and TM41 Torment at the far back top.

Back on the main road get the Burn Heal on the right, Ether on the left and finally a Super Potion at the top right.

Head left on the road. The Desert Resort is to the Northwest but there is not much to do at this time. The important thing is to get the TM28 Dig from the small hut. This allows you to auto leave any cave like a Escape Rope.

Then exit to Nimbasa City in the Northeast. Juniper will give you 10 Ultra Balls and you're on your way to the next badge.

Nimbasa City

Nimbasa City

As you enter Nimbasa City you'll come on the Day Care Man getting harassed by Team Plasma. Take out the Grunts and the Day Care Man will give you a Bicycle. You'll also now be able to leave 2 Pokemon at the Day Care on Route 3. Right after Bianca will come and have a conversation with you.

Head left and enter the Battle Subway. A girl will exit and give you a Vs. Recorder. The Subway both gets you to the small town of Anville but also is a battle series. Depending on the subway you'll have multiple Pokemon in who will temporally leveled up. You'll get BP for winning which you can trade in for moves and other items.

In the house on the far left above the Pokecenter is a man who will give you HM04 Strength. This is going to be needed in a lot of areas. After that you can visit the Big Stadium and the Small Court. There are many trainers here to battles. Then go to the next building to the Musical Theater. The manager will give you a Prop Case. Talk to the girl to the right of the counter to get TM49 Echoed Voice. As you leave the theater Bianca's dad will show up and try to get her to leave but she continues on her path to be a Pokemon master.

Head to the far right bottom to get to the Amusement Park. This area also has the gym. Head towards the ferris wheel and N will lead you on. It appears that he is actually in charge of Team Plasma. You'll have to fight him when you get off.

Battle N:

Lvl 22 Sandile [Ground / Dark], Lvl 22 Darmuka [Fire], Lvl 22 Sigilyph [Psychic / Flying] & lvl 22 Scraggy [Dark / Fighting]

Use Water and Fighting versus Sandile. Water, Ground or Rock for Darumaka. Sigilyph use Electric or Rock and finally Fighting and Flying for Scraggy.

BOLT BADGE BATTLE

This gym is a roller coaster ride. Literally. You will be riding roller coasters. Get on the first one at the opening platform making sure to talk to the man and get your Fresh Water. Elesa - Lvl 25 Emolga [Electric / Flying], Lvl 25 Emolga [Electric / Flying], & Lvl 27 Zebstrika [Electric]
Recommended level: 30

Emolgas are weak to Ice and Rock types. Zebstrika is weak to Ground. All three like to throw Paralyze at you so some Parlyz Heals are a good idea. Afterwards you get the Badge and TM72 Volt Switch.

In the house to the left of the PokeCenter is a lady that will give you a Heart Scale if you show here a Pokemon with the move she requests. Heart Scales are used in Mistralton City to re-learn moves. On the back left wall is Charles. He will teach you Triple Battles in White (Rotation Battles in Black). Triples are 3 on 3 battles. The bonus is that you can bring in your bench when Pokemon drop out were the other team is stuck with what is out on the field.

If you have a SEEN rating of 50 or more Pokemon in your Dex then the man in the building to the right will give you a Shell Bell. The kid in the same building will trade you a Basculin for a Minccino. Finally the guy with the glasses in the top right stall in the Market will give you a Expert Belt if you have a Pokemon over level 30.

Then head South to Cold Storage to find these Team Plasma Grunts.

Cold Storage

Cold Storage

Start by head to the right and fighting the 2 trainers there. Then head down between the 2 blue roofed warehouses and talk to the man there for a Rocky Helmet. Go through the bottom area of grass to get an Ether, fight a Trainer, and finally grab a Protein. Cheren will show up when you get in front of the bottom left door. Before you go in head up the grass on the left to get a Heart Scale. Then enter the Storage Building in the bottom left.

Head up the left stairs for a Net Ball. This area has icy floors where you will slid across until you hit a wall. It's a very straightforward area though, not nearly as complicated as the levels in SoulSilver / HeartGold. Slide up the far left side to hit the container, then to the right and down to get TM55 Scald. Then up, left, up, right to get the dry ground and a Trainer.

Next simply slide across to the right side and head up the stairs to a trainer. Walk on top of the containers to yet another trainers and then one more back on the ground. Grab the Ice Heal and then slide to the top of the level. A trainer waits on the top side along with a Hyper Potion. Go around the left side to the open container and Cheren will come with you.

Inside listen to the conversation and then you have to fight 1 on 1 with all 4 Grunts on the right side. You can heal and even leave between fights if you need to so these are no trouble at all. After defeating all 4 there will be a scene where Clay takes the Team Plasma Grunts away. Grab the NeverMeltIce before making you way back to Driftveil for the Gym Battle.

Driftveil City - Gym Battle

Quake Badge Gym Battle

The gym is in the top right corner of the map. When you get there Ghetsis will show up and take back his Team Plasma Grunts. Afterwards head into the gym and get your Fresh Water from the white haired man to the right. That guy sure gets around!

This gym is a series of lifts going up and down and you need to pick the correct one to move forward. This is the first gym where your choice forward is not always perfectly obvious.

Take the first platform down. Head to the right and fight the trainer and then take that platform even further down. Go to the one above it and ride it up for a trainer battle. Then take the same platform back down and walk around the back edge of the area until you come to a trainer. Beat him and then take the platform in front of him down. Take the top one back up. (The one on the right goes to the entrance) From there go to the back wall again and fight the trainer. Then enter the platform with the raised sides and that one will take you to the Gym Leader.

QUAKE BADGE BATTLE

Clay - Lvl 29 Krokorok [Ground / Dark], Lvl 31 Excadrill [Ground / Steel] & Lvl 29 Palpitoad [Water / Ground]
Recommended level: 34

Krokorok is weak to Grass, Water, and Fighting. Excadrill is weak Water or Fighting and Palpitoad is weak to Grass. This is the first battle I had where the leader used Hyper Potions to stay ahead in the damage game.

After the battle you'll get the Bolt Badge but he holds off giving you the Move you earned until a little later in the game. As you head out West towards Route 6 Bianca will stop you for a battle.

BIANCA
SNIVY - lvl 26 Herdier [Normal], lvl 28 Dewott [Water], lvl 26 Musharma [Psychic] & lvl 26 Pansear [Fire]
TEPIG - lvl 26 Herdier [Normal], lvl 28 Servine [Grass], lvl 26 Musharma [Psychic] & lvl 26 Panpour [Water]
OSHAWATT- lvl 26 Herdier [Normal], lvl 28 Pignite [Fire / Fighting], lvl 26 Musharma [Psychic] & lvl 26 Pansage [Grass]

For beating her you'll get HM02 Fly. (This is why we caught a Ducklett on the bridge earlier!) Now you can fly back to any city you have previously visited. It's a nice ability as we start running around looking for rare Pokemon and items. Anyway let's move on to the next badge so head out on Route 6.

Jet Badge

Route 6

Route 6

SPRING / SUMMER / AUTUMN:
Tall Grass - Deerling / Foongus / Karrablast / Swadloon / Tranquill
Tall Grass (Rustling) - Audino / Emolga / Leavanny / Unfezant
Dark Grass - Deerling / Foongus / Karrablast / Swadloon / Tranquill

WINTER:
Tall Grass - Deerling / Foongus / Karrablast / Swadloon / Vanillite
Tall Grass (Rustling) - Audino / Emolga / Leavanny
Dark Grass - Deerling / Foongus / Karrablast / Swadloon / Vanillite

ALL SEASONS:
(Req: Surf) Water Surface - Basculin
(Req: Surf) Water Surface (Ripples) - Basculin
(Req: Rod) Fishing - Basculin / Poliwag / Poliwhirl
(Req: Rod) Fishing (Ripples) - Basculin / Poliwhirl / Politoed

First off if you want to do everything in this game then you need to capture a Deerling in the tall grass. It's pretty common and we'll need one for part of the story here in just a few minutes. Fight all the trainers and the rangers (rangers giving you Cheri Berries on this Route) until you get to the first house. This is the Season Research Lab. Let's grab the Elixir behind the fence and the Hyper Potion in the Lab's fenced in area before going inside.

Inside the guy on the left wants to see a Deerling of every season. Now in Pokemon White / Black a season is an entire month long. That's real world month. Like April is Winter. So to do this is a 4 month real time commitment. Your prize for this 4 month trek is a Leaf Stone at the end.

Back out and continue left you'll come to what appears to be another item. Not so. 2 of the items in this area are actually Foongus. If you want to catch one prepare your party ahead of time. The middle item is actually a Leaf Stone so be sure to grab that.

Finally the house to the right past the next bridge will heal your Pokemon for you. Then lead to the top left to enter Chargestone Cave.

Chargestone Cave

Chargestone Cave

Cave - Boldore / Ferroseed / Joltik / Klink / Tynamo
Cave (Dust Cloud) - Drilbur

Clay will meet you at the cave entrance and his Krokorok will open it for you. Clay will hand over TM78 Bulldozer finally and you can enter. Inside N will have a talk with you and then so will Juniper and Bianca. This cave's “puzzle” is to push flying rocks into bigger rocks. In my playing I don't think it's even possible in this cave to make a wrong move. Juniper will give you a Lucky Egg. Give this to your lead Pokemon and they will get a good boost in EXP for each win they are in.

Don't bother going down the stairs to the lower level as it's blocked. Push the first rock to the left and then the next one to the right to open the path forward. It's take you right by a Parlyz Heal. Then go up the next small area to get a Heal Ball.

Work your way down to the bridge and the Team Plasma Shadow Triad will lead you across for another meeting with N. Grab the Hyper Potion. Now before going down a level continue on to get a Iron.

Now heading downstairs you'll meet the 2 Nugget Brother who will each give you a Nugget. The up the stairs and to the left is a Timer Ball. Before going through the gaunlet of Team Plasma Grunts continue around the loop for a Doctor. You have to beat him first, but once you do you can come back to him to heal as often as you like.

Which is good because now you have seven, yes seven, Grunts in a row to fight before getting back to the top level. These are one at a time and you can go back to the Doctor to heal at any time so its really not as hard as it sounds. Make sure to grab the Thunderstone in the midst of all the rocks at after Grunt #5.

We are skipping the stairs down because that area is really for later in the game. So go up the stairs at the top right to get back to the main level. There are 2 trainers and then a Magnet in the bottom right before you head to the exit. N will fight you as you try to leave the cave.

Battle N:

Lvl 28 Boldore [Rock], Lvl 28 Joltik [Bug / Electric], Lvl 28 Klink [Steel] & Lvl 28 Ferroseed [Grass / Steel]

Boldore is weak to Fighting, Klink is weak to Fighting and Fire, Joltik is weak to Fighting and Fire also, and finally Ferroseed is weak to Fire. So this battle was made for those that choose Tepig.

Mistralton City

Mistralton City

Your first trip to Mistralton City is short. Start going north and you'll meet the gym leader, Skyla and Professor Juniper's Dad, Cedric. Cedric will update your Pokemon with some more info and more search options. As is the case with most of these gym leaders Skyla is not going to let you just go to the gym. She is off to the Celestrial Tower.  Before you chase after her via Route 7 there are two quick things you can do. First head to the airport and grab TM58 Sky Drop by the front plane. The only other thing to do is go to the far right house which is the Move House. The old man will delete moves from Pokemon for you and the young girl will let you re-learn moves for a Heart Scale.

Route 7

Route 7

SPRING / SUMMER / AUTUMN:
Tall Grass - Deerling / Foongus / Tranquill / Watchog / Zebstrika
Tall Grass (Rustling) - Audino / Emolga / Unfezant
Dark Grass - Deerling / Foongus / Tranquill / Watchog / Zebstrika

WINTER:
Tall Grass - Cubchoo / Deerling / Foongus / Watchog / Zebstrika
Tall Grass (Rustling) - Audino / Emolga
Dark Grass - Cubchoo / Deerling / Foongus / Watchog / Zebstrika

Route 7 has a series of small wooden walkways. If you miss or stand for too long you'll fall off. If you want all the Pokemon and items then you'll need to run through the grass anyway but for fast trips in and out you can get through 7 very fast.

In the first set of grass in front of you on the right is a Great Ball. Up the stairs right away to the left is a man with a free TM57 Charge Beam. The first house on the left the man will trade you a Boldore for a Emolga. After that to the right you'll have a Triple Battle against a Liepard, Swoobat and a Watchog all lvl 32. The lady watching the TV in the middle house will heal you. Head back and to the upper right. There is a PP Up in the grass. The two Rangers in the area will give you Aspear Berries. Then a Max Ether past the Ranger to the right and you'll on to the Celestial Tower.

Celestial Tower

Celestial Tower

2F - Litwick
3F/4F/5F - Elgyem / Litwick

First off Celestial Tower is home to Litwick and Elgyem two Pokemon that you can find NO other place in White/Black so if you are a catch them all kind of trainer then now is the time and place. Litwick is on the 2nd floor up to the roof and Elgyem is in the 3rd floor up to the roof. These are the only 2 wild Pokemon in the Tower so they are not that hard to find.

These floors are pretty straightforward. Get all the items and fight all the trainers and get to the top floor. There is no major battle just all the trainers so I'll give you a rundown of the items you can find. On 2F there is a Hyper Potion to the right and TM61 Will-O-Wisp on the left. On 3F there is a Spell Tag on the right. A Doctor is at the base of the stairs to 4F if you need a heal. You just have to beat him first. The Doctors are so aggressive in this version. And finally on 4F head to the left right away to get TM65 Shadow Claw and a Revive is on the right.

Once at the top listen to Skyla and then ring the bell. Then after a final talk Fly back to Mistralton City for the badge battle.

Mistralton City - Jet Badge Battle

Mistralton City - Gym Battle

The Gym is at the top left at the far end of the runway. Fresh Water is waiting as he always is on the inside. This whole gym is a series of cannons that send you all over the gym.

Fire towards the top. Fire to the left and then immediately get back in and fire to the right. Fight the trainer then go up and fight the next trainer then fire yourself left. Fight the trainer then fire top (This cannon has a choice so fire TOP). Fire right, fight the trainer, then fire back left.  Go up the stairs fight the final trainer and then fire yourself around the outside of the gym until you get to the Gym Leader.

JET BADGE BATTLE

Skyla - Lvl 33 Swoobat [Psychic / Flying], Lvl 33 Unfezant [Normal / Flying], Lvl 35 Swanna [Water / Flying]
Recommended level: 37

All three are Flying Types so Electric and Rock will do you a LOT of good. The only Electric TM_ you have this point is Volt Switch and that forces you to change Pokemon with each hit so a better option is to get yourself a Zebsrika on Route 7 and level that up for a little while if you are having some problems.

Afterwards you get the Jet Badge and TM62 Acrobatics. Then head to the house above the PokeCenter. Two boys in there have hidden another move for you to find. Go back to the airstrip and its on the bottom left. TM40 Aerial Ace. Once you are done head back to Route 7.

Freeze Badge

Route 7 - Take 2

Route 7 - Take 2

Not much more to do this second times. Starting from the house where you can heal your Pokemon head right on the raised walkway. Fight the trainer and go around to the right exit to get TM81 X-Scissor. Then simply go north over the next walkway, again fighting a single trainer, and you'll be at Twist Mountain.

Twist Mountain

Twist Mountain

Cave - Boldore / Cryogonal / Cubchoo / Gurdurr / Woobat
Cave (Dust Cloud) - Drilbur

As you head to the stairs Cheren will come to you for a Pokemon battle.

CHEREN
SNIVY - Lvl 33 Unfezant [Normal / Flying], Lvl 35 Pignite [Fire / Fighting], Lvl 33 Simisage [Grass] & Lvl 33 Liepard [Dark]
TEPIG - Lvl 33 Unfezant [Normal / Flying], Lvl 35 Dewott [Water], Lvl 33 Simisear [Fire] & Lvl 33 Liepard [Dark]
OSHAWATT - Lvl 33 Unfezant [Normal / Flying], Lvl 35 Servine [Grass], Lvl 33 Simipour [Water] & Lvl 33 Liepard [Dark]

Afterwards Alder will come and give you HM03 Surf. Lots of stuff opens up with Surf but we're going to continue the main story and hit the side areas afterwards. There is a trainer at the top before you actually can head into the main mountain area. Clay is inside but just has a few words for you. Nothing special.

Start by head straight up on the walkway to get to a Revive. Head now along the south side past the door to get a Full Heal. Now through the door and you'll have your first trainer battle. The middle exit north is for a trainer if you want more battles, otherwise continue to the far high right exit to continue on.

A trainer is right outside the door then go north along the walkway to get back inside the mountain. The middle rock above the stairs is a hidden trainer. There are a few of these sneaky trainers on Twist Mountain. Before going down the stairs continue right to get a Moon Stone. In the next hall you can head to the bottom rock area for another hidden trainer before exiting back outside.

If it's Winter outside you'll be able to move around easier. First head north along the path to get a Max Potion. Then south along the path for an Ether. Now go back to the exit you just came out of and cross the snow to the left to get to Doctor. You have to beat him and then he will heal you anytime you need. He is on the far left on the walkway next to a door.

Head in the door right next to the doctor and we'll get a few items, along with a few trainers. There is a PP Up on the top left and a Nugget as you go down the right side.

Next there is a door low and right that is only available in Winter. In here is a small room with a Metal Coat. Now go in the middle low door. Work your way through to the end. You'll come back here later to evolve a Pokemon but for now just grab TM91 Flash Cannon.

Finally in Winter you can get to the high right door on the walkway. In the other seasons this area is cut off. Continue to the next door and go right and then down. Continue around the lower lip to get TM90 Substitute. Then head up the far right corridor to the the door to the area. In the other seasons you'd simply enter the door outside on the right side to access the corridor directly. Then talk to your friends and exit to Icirrus City.

Icirrus City

Icirrus City

SPRING / SUMMER / AUTUMN:
Wetlands - Palpitoad / Shelmet / Stunfisk

ALL SEASONS:
(Req: Surf) Water Surface - Stunfisk
(Req: Surf) Water Surface (Ripples) - Seismitoad / Stunfisk
(Req: Rod) Fishing - Barboach / Stunfisk
(Req: Rod) Fishing (Ripples) - Barboach / Stunfisk / Whiscash

In the Winter the Wetlands are frozen and you can't get any wild Pokemon.

In the PokeCenter the man on the right will buy you rock like Moon Stones and Nuggets and the nice lady on the left will give you TM31 Brick Break. Talk to the 4 musicians just to the left of the PokeCenter and they will add clapping to your soundtrack. If it's Winter you can get a Rare Candy to left of the musicians.

Then enter the house just to the left of the musicians and this is the Pokemon Fan Club. The lady on the left will tell you how happy your Pokemon are with you and the President will give you something based on how many levels you've leveled your Pokemon. A Pokemon from 25 to 49 levels gets a Exp Share (Number 2!), 50 to 98 gets you a Cleanse Tag and finally 99 will get you a King's Rock.

The top right building has a daily quiz. If you get the answer right you get an Antidote! WOWZERS! Wrong answers get you a Parlyz Heal. Finally head to the bottom right house in the Wetlands area and talk to the wife to get a RageCandyBar. Hold onto it as we'll need it soon.

Now let's take on the Gym in the upper left. Get your Fresh Water as you enter and this is the Ice gym. Finally an actual puzzle but they do offer you a LOT of hints.

First off head up on the small arrow right besides Fresh Water man. Then go right, fight the trainer and hit the floor switch. Then left on the arrow and fight the next trainer before going right and over the jump to the next section.

Fight the trainer and then go right into the wall of rocks. Up from there, right and the up again. Fight the trainer and then straight down from the trainer to the wooden area. Right from there and then follow the path to the arrow. Head left as the arrow suggests and then straight up from where you land to the floor switch. Up to the rock, left to the trainer area and then down on the down arrow and you're past this second section.

Trainer and then left from the top of the two blocks. Up to swirl around and the right and up and right on the arrow. Follow the path up and fight the trainer and then hit the floor switch. Then right and down at the arrow. Left, down, and left at the arrow and then up at the final block and you are at the Gym Leader's area.

FREEZE BADGE BATTLE

Brycen - Lvl 37 Vanillish [Ice], lvl 39 Beartic [Ice] & Lvl 37 Cryogonal [Ice]
Recommended level: 40

A pretty big joke of a Gym Leader at this stage in the game. Ice is weak to so much. Take your pick from Fire, Fighting, Rock or Steel moves. Afterwards you'll get the badge and TM79 Frost Breath. Take the slide on the left back down to the start and leave the gym.

Big talk outside the gym before you head north to Dragonspiral Tower.

2F - Golett

Head through the Dark Grass on the top section to get to a Nugget. Another big conversation at the entrance where everyone gets their role to play and you go inside.

From the bridge use Surf to go right to a couple of trainers and TM63 Embargo and then Surf back and head inside.

At the broken columns room use Strength to push the boulder into the hole but before going up the stairs head around to the back right for a Hyper Potion. Then up the stairs and head down first to get the Stardust on the broken column. Then move on to the next room.

At the ramps go down and the left on the bottom one as far as you can. 3 jumps. Then up 3 jumps, right one, up and right to finally to get a Shiny Stone. Then repeat only stop at the platform with the stairs.

Brycen and Cheren are holding Team Plamsa at bay on the next level. Well somewhat because you still have to fight 5 Grunts on the way to the next area. Before leaving the room head to the far right to get a Dragon Fang.

In the circle room work your way around the area getting the Stardust, Revive and Star Piece before going up the stairs to the next area.

Grab the Max Elixir and then Gallo, one of the seven sages, will have 4 Grunts surround you. You have to beat them all with no healing in between before you can move on.

Finally at the top have a scene with N getting Reshiram and then flying off. You'll be automatically taken to the entrance where everyone will let you know that you should head to the Relic Castle to find out more information.

Desert Resort

Desert Resort

Desert - Darumaka / Dwebble / Maractus / Sandile / Sigilyph
Desert Entrance - Darumaka / Dwebble / Maractus / Sandile / Scraggy

Fly to Nimbasa City and exit to the South to Route 4. Go left on the road and then north into the Desert Resort. Although this may or may not be your first time here this is a very low level area with Pokemon being in the 20s. So its up to you if you want to fight the trainers or not. If you have some lower Pokemon you want to level you can put them in the lead to get some EXP and let your main take a break. There are still a lot of items to get in the desert though so I'll tell you all about them.

The guy to the north against the wall as you enter the main Desert area is a Doctor. Beat him and he'll heal you when you need it. Which you shouldn't here.

To the North of the Doctor in a depression is the first item. BlackGlasses. From there talk to the guy just Northwest of the BlackGlasses to get some Soft Sand. West of him is some Fresh Water. A little Northwest of that on top of a sand dune is a Super Potion and then just South of that is a Stardust. Now head to the South wall and there is a Fire Stone in a nook. Now go up and left through a break in the rocks. There are 2 Rangers over here handing out Rawst Berries for wins and most importantly is TM39 Rock Tomb in the bottom left corner of the map. Finally go all the way North to the top left corner for a Heart Scale.

At the Castle entrance in the Northeast is a unique Pokemon for the game. Not considered Legendary but still rare. Give one of the statues in front of the Castle the RageCandyBar and it will transform into Darmanitan.

Once you've captured Darmanitan your friends will of course come up after you've done all the work and then you can go inside.

Relic Castle

Relic Castle

1F / B1F / Tower 1F - Sandile / Yamask
B2F to B5F - Cofagrigus / Krokorok

Once inside head to the left and fall into the first set of quicksand, this drops you down to the level below and gives you access to a Revive. The back up to the stairs to the top level. If you run you will be sucked into the quicksand. So WALK around this entire level to keep from falling down where you don't want to. Walk around the top and talk to the man on the right of the last sand put and he will offer you a Fossil. Cover will become Tirtouga, Plume with become Archen. Take these to the man on the right desk at the Nacrene Museum. Then head down the stairs.

A quick Plasma Grunt battle and drop down then next quicksand. Grab the Max Potion and then fight two more Grunt before working your way around to the bottom middle. Grab the TM30 Shadow Ball and then fall down the next quicksand.

Fight the Grunt on the left and grab the Max Revive. Another Grunt to the left and get the PP Up behind him. If you really want ALL the items then drop down the quicksand in the middle by the first Grunt to get a Sun Stone, it's a small item for the pain of climbing back up 2 levels and then falling back to where you were. It's your choice. The move on with the Castle fall down the bottom left quicksand by the Grunt.

Two Grunt battles and a quick trip to another quicksand and you'll fall into the final chamber with Adler and Ghetsis. Afterwards you are back outside and everyone tells you to fly over to the Museum at Nacrene.

Nacrene City

Narcrene City

A very fast trip to Nacrene. Head to the Museum and everyone will meet you outside. You'll be given the Dark Stone (Light Stone in Black) and then told to move on to Opelucid City from Icirrus City.

Before you fly off head into the Museum with a space open in your party and trade in the Fossil you got from Relic Castle to the man on the right desk. Then use Fly to get back to Icirrus City.

Route 8

Route 8

SPRING / SUMMER / AUTUMN:
Wetlands - Palpitoad / Shelmet / Stunfisk
Tall Grass - Deerling / Druddigon / Mienfoo / Tranquill

(Req: Rod) Fishing (Ripples) - Barboach / Stunfisk / Whiscash

Leave Icirrus City from the Eastern area heading North to get to Route 8. The Rangers here give Pecha Berries which you get on the way to the Northwestern corner for a Poison Barb. Then follow the Northern tree line to TM36 Sludge Bomb. Now Surf across the pond to it's Southeastern corner for a Full Heal. Finally on the Northeastern corner is a Ultra Ball.

There is a exit to the Moor of Icirrus in the trees in the Northeastern corner but there really isn't a good reason to go there. The Pokemon are the same as they are here and there are just basic items. Feel free to head over there and look around if you really want to.

Then head to the Southeast to exit to Tubeline Bridge. Before going on the gate talk to the Parasol Lady behind the cement wall. She will give you an item once a day. Morning - Damp Rock, Afternoon - Heat Rock, Evening - Smooth Rock & Night - Icy Rock.

Before you can get to the gate though Bianca ATTACKS!

Tall Grass (Rustling) - Audino / Cinccino / Emolga / Gothitelle [B] / Reuniclus [W]
Dark Grass - Duosion [W] / Garbodar / Gothorita [B] / Liepard / Minccino / Pawniard

There is really only one thing to do on the Bridge and that is get TM43 Flame Charge from the boy running in circles in the middle of the bridge. After that you'll have a brief coversation with Ghetsis at the end and then you're on to Route 9.

As you enter Route 9 you'll get TM56 Fling thrown at you automatically. Then head down the right side and under the fence and all the way to the left for a HP Up and then a Full Restore below that. You can't get into the Cave until you've finished the game so the only other thing to do is check out the Shopping Mall for items and fight all the various Trainers both in the Mall and also on Route 9. Finally go through the gate on the right to Opelucid City.

Opelucid City

Opelucid City

As you enter the city you'll watch a speech from Ghetsis and then when he leaves be introduced to Drayden and Iris. There are a few things you can do before going to the house and then the gym.

First let's go to the house to the left of the fountain. The man in the hat has 4 Props for the Musical if you come back and talk to him on 4 different days. The house on the right of the top two in the city is a Battle House. You can do Triple Battles here. (Doubles in Black). In the second floor of the house above the PokeCenter you can get a Cell Battery if you can show him a Pokemon you caught from the Black version with Charge like Zebstrika or Klink.

Drayden's House is in the middle of town. He'll talk to you but he doesn't really know anything. Before leaving go to the second floor and get a Float Stone from the man at the table and a Ring Target from the other man at the table.

Then head to the Gym at the top of the left road.

Legend Badge

FRESH WATER! Yeah. Then the gym. This one has you running all over the bodies and paths of 3 dragon bodies and it's actually pretty easy to get lost so kudos to them for actually making the last 2 gyms a challenge.

Go forwards and fight the first of many Trainers and then go down the right side path. Follow the tail up and take a right at the first fork and over the little jump. Fight the Trainer and then go left and jump down to the hand for a dragon shift. Go up the head and then down the path and fight the Trainer. After that jump down to the next hand and another shift. Climb the head again and fight the next Trainer and then its left to the next dragon's hand. Go down the tail, fight the trainer and go left. Take a right at the fork so that you can drop down on the next hand. Now back up the head and go North and then down the stairs and fight the next trainer. We will be running out of Trainers soon.

Now head South and jump to the next hand button. This is the only tricky part because you need to loop back around and hit this exact same hand button again. To do this go tail and you'll get back to the stairs area.

Now go head and come around, fighting a trainer, and hitting the other hand button. Then head up the head and go right at the first chance and fight the trainer. Then left so you drop down and the head will rise to the Leader's platform.

LEGEND BADGE BATTLE

Iris - Lvl 41 Fraxture [Dragon], Lvl 41 Druddigon [Dragon] & Lvl 43 Haxorus
Recommended level: 46

This was the first battle playing as Tepig/Emboar that I though would be a challenge as Dragon is only weak to Dragon and Ice and I had none of it. Unfortunately I was 10 levels higher than them and the fast that ALL they did was Dragon Dance they were all dead before they even took the time to swing once.

Afterwards Juniper will meet you outside and take you to Route 10 where she will give you the Master Ball. This PokeBall AUTO captures anything. Even if it's the first thing you do. You can get one more if you've traded with more then 50 people but for most people this will be the 1 and only 1 we get so use it wisely on a Legendary you want BAD. Then head out onto Route 10 as we make our way to the Pokemon League.

Pokemon League

Route 10

Route 10

Tall Grass - Bouffalant / Foongus / Herdier / Rufflet [W] / Sawk [B] / Throth [W] / Vullaby [B]
Tall Grass (Rustling) - Audino / Emolga / Sawk [W] / Stoutland / Throh [B]
Dark Grass - Amoonguss / Bouffalant / Herdier / Rufflet [W] / Sawk [B] / Throth [W] / Vullaby [B]

A very small route. Grab the Full Heal in the first section at the back. This area has the fake items so you might be grabbing a Foongus. Just FYI.

Then you will have a battle with Cheren as you cross the bridge.

CHEREN
SNIVY - Lvl 43 Unfezant [Normal / Flying], Lvl 45 Emboar [Fire / Fighting], Lvl 43 Simisage [Grass] & Liepard [Dark]
TEPIG - Lvl 43 Unfezant [Normal / Flying], Lvl 45 Samurott [Water], Lvl 43 Simisear [Fire] & Liepard [Dark]
OSHAWOTT -  Lvl 43 Unfezant [Normal / Flying], Lvl 45 Serperior [Grass], Lvl 43 Simipour [Water] & Liepard [Dark]

Cheren will heal your Pokemon and then Bianca will give you a few Max Revives.

Head up on the grass just after the bridge. Pass the first two as they are fakes and then get the Hyper Potion and then right next to that is a Dawn Stone. Then cross the small bridge and talk to the man on the left who gives you a Dusk Stone. Then get TM05 Roar.

Finally cross the bridge and get the Full Restore before heading up to Victory Road. It's a nice little area where you pass through all the gates to show what badges you got.

Victory Road

Victory Road - Part 1

OUTSIDE AREA:
Rough Ground -  Fraxure / Heatmor / Mienfoo / Rufflet [W] / Vullaby [B]

2 WATER AREAS:
Cave - Boldore / Deino / Durant / Mienfoo / Woobat
Cave (Dust Cloud) - Excadrill
(Req: Surf) Water Surface - Basculin
(Req: Surf) Water Surface (Ripples) - Basculin
(Req: Rod) Fishing - Basculin / Poliwag / Poliwhirl
(Req: Rod) Fishing (Ripples) - Basculin / Poliwhirl / Poliwrath

EVERYWHERE ELSE:
Cave - Boldore / Durant / Mienfoo / Woobat
Cave (Dust Cloud) - Excadrill

There is a lot of a step forward 3 steps back in this version in Victory Road because most of the items are gotton by jumping off the high areas and falling to the low areas so there will be a lot of backtracking and repeating yourself if you want to get everything. Also if you previously caught Cobalion then Terrakion is available for capture on Victory Road. Ok. Let's get started.

In the front door and Surf over the water to get yourself a Max Revive. Surf back and go up the stairs and battle the Trainer. Go outside and you'll learn from the 2 men that you can slide down the mountain. You'll be doing that quite a bit. So slide down the right side where there is a gab in the fence.

Go right over the broken ground and inside the door. Go to the top and Surf to the far side for a Rare Candy. Then Surf back and go up the left stairs. Go North first and up the stairs and fight a Trainer and the out the door.

You'll come out the left of the 3 doors. Go into the middle door now and fight the Trainer. Go down the stairs to the right and use Strength to push the stone in the hole so that you can get back up quicker. SHORTCUT! Now back up the stairs and now to the next set of stairs.  Another Trainer and head outside and get the Full Restore.

With the shortcut in place go back out the left door and go left over the large broken ground area before dropping down the small hole in the fence and get TM12 Taunt.

Victory Road - Part 2

Now enter the far left of the 3 doors to continue on higher. Trainer fight and go right up the stairs. Here is the Doctor. So fight him and he's here to heal you from then on. Go around the left ledge and then push the stone in the hole. Not much of a shortcut but every step counts. Go up and then out the door and drop down and enter the door to get the Calcium. DON'T drop down. Go back outside and head to the far left and drop down all the way to the bottom for a Ultra Ball.

Get back up to the Doctor room and go up the stairs again. Now go up the North stairs and fight yet another Trainer. Exit out the left door and get a Full Heal, then back inside and go out the right door. Go down the to the right of the fence and go in the door. Trainer fight and then up the stairs and down the left set. Push the stone in and Terrakion is on the left path. Then back up the stairs you came down.

The door is gets you to the top outside. First go far left and drop down to the left of man. Drop down twice and go right across the bridge and get the TM93 Wild Charge.

Back at the top, only this time fall down to the right of the man and get a Nugget. As you work up grab the TM02 Dragon Claw.

Finally go through the large gate and we are finally at the Pokemon League.

Pokemon League - Elite 4

As soon as you get to the League you can now fly from and to the outside area of the League at any time. The small center on the left has a PC and items for sale. Remember once you start the Elite Four you can”t quit until you either beat all four or lose. I recommend you have several Pokemon in the low 50s or one really good Pokemon in the 60s.

N's Castle

N's Castle

After beating the Elite Four activate the center statue and it will lower you to a new sub floor. Climb the stairs and see that N has beaten Adler. N will then summon his castle and invite you inside so you might as well follow him in. You'll be greated by the Seven Sages (minus Ghetsis) and the gym leaders you fought will come to keep them busy. There are no wild Pokemon here and there are no battles until the end so just explore the rooms on the next three levels and get all the items.

1st Floor:
Room 1: Empty
Room 2: Heal with the lady on the left
Room 3: Item

2nd Floor:
Room 1: PC
Room 2: Item
Room 3: Guy will transport you to the League and back

3rd Floor:
Room 1: N's. Item
Room 2: Item
Room 3: Nothing

Then down a long hallway and up a long stretch of stairs and you are at N. He'll say how he is disappointed that you haven't gotten Zekron yet and then BOOM. The Dark Stone will activate and it's Pokemon catching time.

Zekrom / N / Ghetsis

All of these battles happen one after the other automatically with full auto healing for your Pokemon party in between.

Zekrom
LVL 50 [Dragon / Electric]
This is a good battle to just go ahead and throw the Master Ball for the auto catch right away at the start. It's important to the story for you to catch it. Ice, Ground, and Dragon type attacks will do massive damage and depending on your level could easily OHKO. Fire, Grass or Electric will do half damage so you can walk your way down. A Cobalion with False Swipe and Thunder Wave for leaving 1 HP and Paralyse will really help you if you want to try to catch the old fashioned way with a Ultra Ball.

N will heal you up afterwards and then it's right into the battle with him.

N
Reshiram - Lvl 52 [Dragon  / Fire] - Weak to: Ground / Rock / Dragon
Carracosta - Lvl 50 [Water / Rock] - Weak to: Grass / Electric / Fighting / Ground
Vanilluxe - Lvl 50 [Ice] - Weak to: Fire / Fighting / Rock / Steel
Klinklang - Lvl 50 [Steel] - Weak to: Fire / Fighting / Ground
Zoroark - Lvl 50 [Dark] - Weak to: Fighting / Bug
Archeops - Lvl 50 [Rock / Flying] - Weak to: Water / Electric / Ice / Rock / Steel

And right after that you are healed and Ghetsis will come at you with everything he has.

Ghetsis
Cofagrigus - Lvl 52 [Ghost] - Weak to: Ghost / Dark
Bouffalant - Lvl 52 [Normal] - Weak to: Fighting
Seismitoad - Lvl 52 [Water / Ground] - Weak to: Grass x4
Hydreigon - Lvl 54 [Dark  / Dragon] - Weak to: Ice / Fighting / Bug / Dragon
Eelektross - Lvl 52 [Electric] - Weak to: Nothing due to ability
Bisharp - Lvl 52 [Dark / Steel] - Weak to: Fighting x4 / Fire / Ground

N's Castle - Ending Sequence

After that enjoy the end credits since you just won the game for the first time. After the credits load your save and you'll be back in your home with a lot of new stuff to do and a lot of new route to see and Pokemon to catch!

New Game Things to Do

Opening Items

Head downstairs and you'll be introduced to Looker. He's looking for the remaining 6 Sages and asks if you can't help. He'll also give you a Super Rod. Completely unrelated. Anyway. The six are all over the region and if you find them they give you a Move and then Looker shows up to arrest them.

After that head outside and talk to your friends. Cedric will then come up and give you the NationalDex and it's time to do whatever you want. Unlike previous games there is no real order. Just general things to do.

Locations of the Six Remaining Sages

Rood - TM32 Double Team

Gorm - TM75 Swords Dance
Go back to The Dreamyard and now that you have Strength you can push the stones into the holes and move into new area. He's behind a wall on the East side.

Bronius - TM69 Rock Polish
He's at the Southern point inside Chargestone Cave. He will be by a wall.

Giallo - TM08 Bulk Up

Ryoku - TM04 Calm Mind
Head back to Relic Castle and get to the bottom. New sand makes it possible to reach a door you couldn't reach before. He is in a room right before Volcarona a Legendary.

Zinzolin - TM01 Hone Claws
Very easy. In a container in Cold Storage.

Pokemon Type Match-up Chart

Pokemon Versus Chart

Here is a chart to use to see what moves will give you the most benefit in battle. Choose the defending Pokemon's overall type on the top and then find the move type (not Pokemon type) that will do the most damage.

We have a print button a little bit higher up the page in the middle if you would like a printer friendly version.

You can also check our Pokedex for individual stats for each and every Pokemon.

Leveling Up Pokemon

Here are a few tips to help you with leveling up Pokemon.

DAY CARE - Your first opportunity to level up outside of battle is the Day Care Center on Route 3 right at the start of the game. You drop a Pokemon off and when you pick it up it will be leveled up based on the times you left it. When you get to Nimbasa City you'll help out the Day Care Man and after that you can leave 2 at the Day Care.

SHARE EXP - In Castelia City you can get a Share Exp from the man in the back right of the 55th Floor of the Game Freak building. You give this item to a Pokemon NOT in battle but in your party and they get 50% of the exp. Great way to level them up. A second Share Exp in the Pokemon Fan Club from the Chairman by showing him a Pokemon you leveled up between 25 and 49 levels.

LUCKY EGG - Professor Juniper will give you one in Chargestone Cave and you can also get one from the Sunglasses wearing man that is on Route 13. This item is given to your main Pokemon and give you 50% more EXP when they win.

Pokemon For Field Moves

Although almost all Pokemon can use 1 or 2 Field Moves its good to look for Pokemon that you can bring along whose sole purpose is Field Moves.

WATCHOG - Usable Field Moves: Flash, Cut, Strength
Watchog is found on Route 7. You won't need Strength or Flash before then but you will need Cut. Your best bet is to grab Patrat right away on Route 1 and level it up to 20 where it evolves into Watchog. Patrat can use Cut right away so it won't slow you down.

DUCKLETT - Usable Field Moves: Fly, Surf, Dive
Ducklett can be gotten on Driftveil Drawbridge in the shadows. You'll be able to get him before you need to use any of these moves so no problem.

BASCULIN / FRILLISH / TIRTOUGA - Waterfall
Waterfall is an end game move that is going to get you to some much needed places. It sucks to have to take 3 Pokemon to just use one move but its the way it is.
Basculin (Cut, Surf, Waterfall, Dive) - Can be gotten through a trade in Driftveil City for a Minccino.
Tirtouga (Surf, Strength, Waterfall, Dive) - Get the Cover Fossil on 1F in the Relic Castle in Desert Resort on Route 4. Take the Fossil to Nacrene Museum to transform the fossil into Tirtouga. This is the first one you can get of the three.
Frillish (Flash, Surf, Waterfall, Dive) - Gotten with Surf on Route 17 or fishing in Route 4.

Catching the Legendaries

My Legendary Hunting Party

Here are the Pokemon I generally use to catch the Legendaries throughout Pokemon White. Check out the following pages for how to catch the Legendaries in Pokemon White and more videos.

#1 Watchog - Grab a Patrat right away in Route 1 and level him up to Watchog.
MOVES:
Mean Look - Learns at lvl 36. This move keep Pokemon from fleeing battles. A LOT of the Legendaries only give you 1 attack or move before fleeing. This move keep them in one spot.
Strength - Needed to move boulders and other items to get to places they hide.
Cut - Needed to cut down trees to get to new locations.
Flash - Used to illuminate caves.

#2 Cobalion - Actually a Legendary himself he should be the first one you get. He is used because he can learn 2 very important moves.
MOVES:
False Swipe - TM54 ALWAYS leaves 1 Hp left so you can be confident that the Pokemon will not feint. Can be gotten for free from Juniper in your home town when you PokeDex has a seen number of 25 or higher.
Thunder Wave -TM73 can be bought from Nimbasa City PokeCenter for 10,000. This move always causes paralysis if it hits and status conditions make it easier for Pokemon to be caught.

#3 Ducklett -The only pokemon on Driftveil Bridge so its an easy catch. This is a move mule for us to get around.
MOVES:
Fly - to get from Town to Town quickly.
Surf - To move across the water.
Dive - To get places.

#4 Basculin - Can be gotten in Driftveil City in a trade for a Minccino which are quick easy to find in the area.
MOVES:
Waterfall - A needed move. Too bad we can't double it up with one of our other mains.

And then of course 40 Ultra Balls since these Legendaries have the most insanely low catch rates. Also get a good number of Dusk Balls as a lot of these will be in Caves and they do work better.

Catching Cobalion

Cobalion

Moves Required: Surf, Strength, Flash
Story Progress Required: Only that you have the required moves
PokeDex #144
LVL 42 [Steel / Fighting]

You get Surf from Adler as you enter Twist Mountain after winning the Jet Badge from Skyla. Head west out of Driftveil City to Route 6. If this is your first time on Route 6 with Surf be sure to grab the Silk Scarf and TM84 Poison Jab along the river. Then Surf your way into Mistralton Cave in the NorthEast from the top right of the area in the Tall Grass just past the Heal House.

Use Flash on entering the cave so you can see where you are going. Head straight down and use Strength to push the rock into the hole so that you can move on. You'll be doing this A LOT in this cave. There is one of the few Trainers in this cave as you move along the bottom of this level. There is a Max Repel in the upper right near a Trainer and then a Hyper Potion in the upper left. Then head down to the next floor.

On the next floor head down the far right side and then along the bottom to get a Hard Stone. Then up the far right to the top and follow it to the left for TM80 Rock Slide. Finally there is a Iron on the left of the middle rock formation. Then head down again to continue.

Talk to the man and you have to say Yes and listen to his story for Cobalion to appear. Then up the right side for a Dusk Stone. Then left for a Rare Candy and then push the two boulder and go to the bottom for a Revive. Finally up the left side to fight Cobalion.

Hopefully you brought 30 Ultra Balls because Cobalion does NOT want to be caught. This can be a long boring battle as you work him down in HP. If you have Pokemon with False Swipe that auto leaves 1 HP, also anyone who can cause Paralyse or Sleep is a big help. After you beat Cobalion he became my False Swipe / Thunder Wave attacker. Thunder Wave auto causes Paralyse if it hits.

The old man will then come up to you and tell you that Virizion is now out in Pinwheel Forest and Terrakion is now out at Victory Road. You can go and get Virizion right now!

Remember to use Dusk Balls as this is a cave situation.

Catching Victini

Victini

Moves Required: NONE
Story Progress Required: Requires Nintendo WiFi Connection
PokeDex #0
LVL 15 [Psychic / Fire]

Talk to him and he will give you your Liberty Pass in game. Leave the PokeCenter and head to the far left dock and talk to the man in front of the Boat. He will take you to Liberty Island.

Work your way around the Lighthouse fighting the low level (16ish) Grunts until you get to the front door and enter the Lighthouse. Victini is at the bottom room. Head back outside and Thundurus / Tornadus will appear. It will automatically leave as soon as you see it no combat.

After that check the bulletin boards in the gates and they will tell you what Route the storm is at. Head there fast and if the Route is still storming then wonder the tall grass for the Legend to appear. These two are runners so Mean Look to keep them around and work them down as fast as you can. Then Ultra Ball and hope for the best.
