1. FIREARMS
—————-
Bolt Action Rifle
This is one of the guns that appears a bunch of times throughout the game. The very first time you have a chance to grab this is in Cabot Ridge. It’s actually in a shed right next to one of the fuel cans you have to grab for the main missions, so it’s next to impossible to miss this one!
Revolver
There are a couple of different places where you can find the Revolver. It’s the first pistol available to you in the game. The best place to snag it is Sedalia, as you have to go there anyway as part of the main game. In the police station in the center room, you’ll find the revolver sitting on a desk (it’s the same room with the zombies in the jail cell). It’s hard to miss.
Grenade
Grenades are not exactly plentiful in the game, but you have multiple opportunities to find them. They are in the last level of the game, on the desk of the ranger in Garwater, and in the police station of Pemberton in a storage room.
Pump Shotgun
In Pemberton, you’ll be asked to check a nearby motel to see what happened to the sheriff’s deputies. Go to the room that has the cop car lights pointed inside it. In the bathroom, you’ll find the pump shotgun on the ground next to the dead body.
Hi-Powered Pistol
You can find this weapon both in Fontana and Polksville. I sometimes found that it randomly spawned in other areas of the game. The easiest place to find it is Polksville, however. You’ll be attacked by swarms of zombies while navigating the train cars. Check the floor of the cars and you’ll find the pistol.

Double Barrel Shotgun
Found in multiple areas, this weapon is literally given to you in Garwater by the police officer there as soon as you talk to him at the beginning of the mission.
Fast-Action Pistol
Cleburne is a town that you can’t miss. You go there to visit a hospital to look for medical supplies for Merle. Go to the very top floor of the hospital, but be VERY CAREFUL that you don’t go through the door that leads to the doctor and Noah, because that is a point of no return, and you’ll have to start the entire level over from the start. Find the “PARKING” sign on the ceiling, and then on the other side of the barricade that sign is pointing to, you’ll find the pistol lying on the ground. This pistol appears in other areas of the game as well, but this is the earliest that you can find it.
Crossbow
The Crossbow is obtained automatically as a part of the storyline.
Semi-Auto Shotgun
This weapon is found in multiple areas. You can find it in towns such as Lemon Hill, Polksville, Sherwood, and Firesign Stadium. Firesign Stadium is the last level in the game, and you can find it easiest here, as it is just lying in plain sight. Lemon Hill is the first place you can find it. It’s in the fireworks shop where Merle is located at the beginning of the mission.
Semi-Auto Rifle
In the church at Lemon Hill, you can find this weapon just lying on the ground right at the altar. This is another weapon that pops up all over the place, so just keep your eye out for it if you’ve already passed Lemon Hill. Like most weapons, it will reappear at Firesign Stadium at the end of the game if you’re attentive enough.

Assault Rifle
You can get this weapon in a couple of different ways. For one, you can find it randomly spawning in one of the levels in Act 3. You can also find it in Firesign Stadium where it’s seriously impossible to miss. The final way you can obtain the Assault Rifle is just by beating the game once and then starting over with the first Relic activated.

2. MELEE WEAPONS
————————
Knife
This is the very first weapon you get in the game! You can’t do anything in the Cabot Ridge cabin until you have Daryl pick it up from the sink.
Hammer
You can find the hammer in multiple locations in the game, but it can actually be found in the very beginning. In the cabin at Cabot Ridge, check the table that Jess is standing by and you’ll find it lying on the table along with other supplies.
Lead Pipe
You can find this one in a couple of places, but the earliest and easiest way to snag it is in Sedalia. Go to the roof of the pharmacy and speak with Jimmy Blake. He will give you a side mission. From there, work your way around the ventilation and you’ll find the edge of the roof and some cardboard boxes. Climb on top of the boxes and then go across to the other building. You’ll then find a ladder that leads down to the pharmacy, behind a locked door. There’s a squirrel collectible in here as well as the lead pipe.

Hatchet
I can’t imagine looking over this melee weapon. I ran into it about three or four times during one playthrough of the game. I also found them at the side areas, like campsites. So as you’re driving along the Georgia roads, keep an eye out for opportunities to scavenge for supplies and you’re likely to find one of these lying around.
Machete
Don’t worry if you miss this one because you can find one in the last mission, plus other areas in the game, but the first time you can get it is in Fontana. After speaking with Scout and going to check on Mia for her, return to the diner. Scout will be gone. The compass will point you in a different direction, but if you open the door of the freezer, you’ll see the machete stuck in the wall, having been used to kill a walker.
Baseball Bat
In Lemon Hill, in the apartment building right before you use the bus to reach the next building across the street, you’ll find the baseball bat lying on the counter. It’s impossible to miss. The damn thing is highlighted in red after all!
Sledgehammer
Also in Lemon Hill, go to the shed just outside the graveyard. You’ll find the sledgehammer in the shed there. The sledgehammer appears other places as well.
Fire Axe
Multiple cities house the Fire Axe. In the Cleburne hospital, you can find the axe keeping doors shut where there are a bunch of zombies behind it. Only grab this one if you have enough ammo to kill the zombies that come through. Another place you can find the axe is in Lafferty in the mall. And finally, you’ll find it in the last level of the game in one of the tents. Just keep checking the tents and you’ll find it.
