1. SUPERMAN

Mission 1. Getting Started
“Flash tries to reason with Superman about letting his emotions get in the way. Complete the moves listed on top of the screen before saving Lois.”

The introductory mission is easy enough. For the most part, every single time you begin a new character, you will have to go through a sequence of their moves so you can learn how to play as them. This is the case here, except you can earn extra stars if you perform other actions. For example, you can earn all three stars here if you perform all the moves, plus land a 5-hit combo, and hit a combo that damages more than 30%. With Superman, this is all easy, and I believe you can actually knock these two off your list simply by following through the moves if you go through them quick enough to keep a combo going.

Mission 2. The Yellow Sun
“Determined to get past Bane, Superman uses the sun’s power to build his strength. Stand in the rays of the sun to charge Superman’s health.”

Mission 2 introduces a gimmick, and the S.T.A.R. Labs Missions are all about gimmicks, so get used to it. This is a timed fight, and the gimmick of it is that you can regenerate your health if you stay within the sun beam that is moving around the stage. The Level Transition star is also very easy. You need to get Bane to the right side of the stage, with you on his left, then hold A, pull the left analog stick to the left, and release to perform the Level Transition successfully.

Mission 3. Kryptonite Batarangs
“Lex has attached a mind-control device to Batman. Defeat Batman while avoiding his Kryptonite batarangs.”

The missions don’t gradually increase in difficulty, which is very apparent right from the outset. As will soon tell, the objective of not being hit by a Batarang is an incredibly tough task, so don’t expect to get all three stars on your first go here. The interactive object one is easy enough, and otherwise you just have to defeat Batman. Avoiding the Batarangs is the one that will hold you back if nothing else.

Mission 4. Heating Up
“Overcome the Alternate Superman that Lex brought to Earth. Hit the matching on-screen button to power up your heat vision.”

Tug of war, except with laser eyes. You have to hit the buttons that appear to force your laser beam into the alternate Superman. The way you can cross the line five times is by hitting enough buttons to get the laser over the line, and then holding back so that the laser recedes back towards yourself. You can then repeat the process until the star pops up, and then you are free to put the alternate Superman out of his misery.

Mission 5. Rain Of Fire
“Cyborg has been reprogrammed by Lex to take down Superman. Watch out for the falling debris from nearby buildings.”

[ ] Connect 10 Special Moves

I would spam Special Moves right from the outset just to get that one out of the way, but remember that you don’t have to complete each objective in one go to earn all the stars. You could do the Super Moves in this one, and then go back and get the one from avoiding the debris. This mission is a simple fight against Cyborg, except the debris falling from the ceiling adds a sort of “X” factor, if you will.

Mission 6. Meteor From Krypton
“Superman has been weakened by Kryptonite dropped by Lex. Survive for 20 seconds without being hit by Catwoman’s attacks.”
[ ] Stay alive for 20 seconds
[ ] Land a 4 Hit Juggle Combo
[ ] Throw twice

Superman has been severely weakened by Kryptonite, which means he can be killed. You have to survive for 20 seconds, and if you get hit once, you die. Make Catwoman follow you around the screen to drain the clock. Hitting her with grab moves, which is one of the other objectives anyway, is another good way to burn the clock down.

Mission 7. Save The Human
“Lex’s henchmen are attacking civilians. Protect the civilians by using your Heat Zap and Ground Smash to stop the incoming threats.”

[ ] Crush the bugs

Projectiles will come from right in front of you and below. You have to blast the projectiles and smash the bugs on the ground. If one of them gets by, the citizen dies and you fail the mission. By “not missing an incoming threat”, it means that you not only have to stop everything going to the citizen, but you can’t miss even one time. Patience is key. This is another tough one to get all three stars in.

Mission 8. Noxious Fumes
“Superman attempts to question Poison Ivy about Lois’s location, but discovers Lex has freed Joker and armed him with Kryptonite poison.
[ ] Defeat The Joker

[ ] Win without using any Special Ability

Your health will constantly drain during this mission because Joker is equipped with Kryptonite poison. Getting all three stars is easy enough, though. Just mash combos at The Joker. Don’t worry about putting in the analog inputs, as that is what activates the Special Moves, which will keep you from getting all three stars. When his health gets down so there’s about a quarter left, just spam him with throws so you can assure that the killing blow is indeed with a grapple.

Mission 9. Man Of Steel
“Three of the strongest villains in the universe have been sent to destroy Superman. Use your Super Move as the final blow.”
[ ] Defeat all villains
[ ] Win using only punches
[ ] Connect 10 Special Moves on one opponent

This is a gauntlet battle. In this mission, you will HAVE to play it at least twice to get all the stars. The reason for that is the two secondary objectives here cancel each other out. You can’t win using only punches while simultaneously connecting with 10 Special Moves on one opponent. I recommend doing the Special Moves one first on the first opponent, then practice going through the three fights with only punches. Then the second time through, you will be more prepared to blow through it using only punches.

Mission 10. Kryptonite Plated
“LexCorp has developed a Kryptonite energy source for Luthor’s power armor. Damage Lex 10 times to deplete the energy source and save Lois.”

This is a regular battle against Lex Luthor, except with a twist to make it a longer and tougher fight. Lex has special armor on that is using Kryptonite as a power source. You have to break through that shield before you can actually fight Lex. Spam attacks to break the shield, and then you can fight him like normal. The special objectives here will ask you to win without jumping and win with a Super Move. Move slow, because the game will sometimes mistake a left analog stick tilt to the left or right as a jumping command. When Lex’s health is getting low, be sure to spam those Super Moves so you can ensure that he is defeated with one.

Mission 11. Sparring Practice
“Batman must hone his skills before going after Arkham’s deadliest villains. Execute the moves listed on top of the screen to spar.”

Here we are again with Batman’s introductory mission which will explain all of his moves to you. Pretty much just going through the moves and defeating Nightwing will mean that you have hit him 15 times in the head, so this one is like a free three star rating.

Mission 12. Baffled Bats
“Scarecrow’s fear-inducing poison fills the air. Capture Raven before Scarecrow’s madness overcomes Batman’s reality.”

I found this mission to be incredibly annoying. For one, actually forcing a Clash to happen is really tough, so you’ll pretty much just have to keep going at it until you’re lucky and it happens, and two, the “fear gas” is excruciating on the eyes. It makes the level tilt a lot, and sometimes Batman becomes “confused” or falls asleep, which just makes this fight seem cheap as hell. There’s nothing really you can do about it except push through and defeat Raven, save your Special Meter, and hope to hell that a “Clash” occurs.

Mission 13. Grenades And Grundy
“Grundy, a zombie, is tough to damage with hand-to-hand combat. Use the undead grenades located around the Batcave to do significant damage.”

This is the second mission in the game in which two objectives cancel each other out, so you will definitely have to play through this one at least twice to get all of the stars from it. “Apprehending Grundy” means just beating him, but the grenades add a gimmick to the fight. You can pick up the grenades and then use them easily enough. It’s next to impossible to actually miss with the things. Plus, you can always just hit him with one grenade right at the start and then don’t bother with them for the rest of the match if you are worried that you will go to throw one and miss. Then replay through and go through the fight without ever touching the grenades, or vice-versa.

Mission 14. Pie In the Face
“Stop Joker and Harley from trying to escape Arkham. Avoid their attacks of incoming pies and chattering teeth to reach the evil duo.”
[ ] Reach Joker and Harley
[ ] Don’t move backwards
[ ] Avoid 10 pies

There is no actual fight in this mission. You start at the left side of the screen and move to the right side of the screen. There will be teeth on the ground that you can’t touch, plus pies will fly in from off-screen. In order to satisfy the “avoid 10 pies” requirement, you will have to stand in place to bait the pies to keep coming, and then just avoid them to the best of your ability. Reaching the right side of the screen will end the mission.

Mission 15. Killer Croc
“Killer Croc has opened the cells in Stryker’s Island. Use Batman’s Batarang to stop the prisoners from escaping.”
[ ] Apprehend Killer Croc
[ ] Dodge 10 Shoulder Charges
[ ] Flawless Victory

Yes, they bothered to put Killer Croc in the game, yet he doesn’t actually have a moveset or anything. The first part of the battle involves knocking prisoners back with Batarangs. When that’s done, Croc will charge at you repeatedly. Avoid his charges and attack his back. Repeat the process until his health meter is drained, and then you can put him away. You can only take three shoulder attacks before failing the mission.

Mission 16. Deathstroke Destroy
“Joker is covering Deathstroke’s attempt to escape via an APC. Destroy the APC while avoiding incoming missiles from Joker.”
[ ] Destroy the APC
[ ] Win with at least 10 seconds remaining
[ ] Make 5 rockets hit the APC

Man, this one drove me nuts, but hopefully with my advice, you’ll have better luck. Basically, Deathstroke is hiding in an APC on the right side of the screen. In the background, The Joker will be firing rockets at you. Whenever he talks, that means he’s about to shoot a slower-moving rocket, but one that is still very tough to dodge. When he laughs, you better jump immediately, or else you will be hit by the rocket and subsequently fail the mission. To get him to hit the APC, hug against it as you attack, but don’t attack too many times in a row or else you’ll get stuck in a combo and it will be impossible to dodge the rocket. If you are having a lot of trouble with this one and just want to get it completed without caring about the objectives, keep in mind that The Joker basically only shoots the fast missiles whenever you are hugging the APC.

Mission 17. Evil Duo
“Batman has finally caught up with Joker and Harley again. This time stop the Evil Duo and send them back to Arkham!”

After two gimmick levels involving these two, it’s refreshing to get a more traditional fight going. This is just two fights in a row, one featuring The Joker and the other featuring Harley Quinn.

Mission 18. Cat Nap
“While tracking Catwoman to a heist, Batman came upon an injured guard. Protect him by deflecting rockets with Batman’s Parry.”
[ ] Save the guard and stop Catwoman
[ ] Reflect the rocket at the last second
[ ] Don’t miss a Parry

Interestingly enough, the first and third stars are actually dependent on each other. You can’t not save the guard and miss a parry. The on-screen combo will tell you how to perform Batman’s Parry move, but the full Injustice guide will help you out with Batman’s move-set as well if you need to have system-specific references. Anyway, the tricky part will be reflecting the rocket at the last second, but with a little practice, you’ll be able to pull it off without too much trouble. Hell, I wound up doing it by complete accident the very first time I tried out this mission, so maybe you will have similar good fortune.

Mission 19. Heli-Battle
“Lex is trying to fly convicts out of prison. Defeat the soldiers while avoiding helicopter gunfire, and then pick up a missile to take it down.”
[ ] Destroy the helicopter
[ ] Survive 8 seconds while fighting the guards without getting hit
[ ] Execute a combo greater than 20%

The “survive 8 seconds while fighting the guards without getting hit” objective may confuse some due to the wording. You don’t have to survive 8 seconds right off the bat (ha, “bat”), just go 8 seconds without taking damage. With the helicopter flying around in the background, constantly firing machineguns at you, this is easier said than done. This mission is separated into two waves. The first wave is where you just fight a series of guards that are coming at you. When they’re defeated, you will be able to grab a rocket launcher and use it on the helicopter. This is the tough part. The helicopter is firing machineguns at a very fast rate, so you have to move QUICK to pick up the rocket without the helicopter making you drop it. Grab it as fast as you can as soon as the helicopter starts firing and immediately fire. Don’t worry about trying to line up the shot, because the rocket will automatically gravitate to the helicopter anyways.

Mission 20. Dark Night Vision
“Bane, the last of the Arkham escapees, has shut down the power. Batman’s night vision is fragile, so be careful not to get hit.”

[ ] Never reach max Super Meter

To make sure you never reach the maximum Super Meter, constantly drain your Super Meter with Special Moves. Refer to the move-list guide posted at the top of this one for more information about that and Batman’s specific “meter burns”. Otherwise, this is just a normal fight, except with (of course) a gimmick thrown in. The gimmick in this fight is that Bane has turned off the lights, so it is pitch-black in the room. Luckily Batman has night vision goggles. Unluckily, one hit from Bane makes them deactivate for a brief period if time, but Bane will still be able to see you perfectly. It actually doesn’t make the fight that much tougher, but it is certainly a wrench thrown into the operation, if you will.

3. CATWOMAN

Mission 21. Cat Burglar
“Knock out the museum guards to access the roof by completing the list of displayed moves.”

Once again, just an introductory mission.

Mission 22. Avoid The Lights
“In order to gain access into the museum Catwoman must avoid the moving spotlights and destroy the air vent.”

[ ] Complete the path backwards

Now, this one can be a real pain. If you even slightly step into the spotlight, then the mission is failed. The trick is to dash past the first three, and then watch the final spotlight as it rotates around the stage. At the one moment, you then need to lunge forward and dash to the air vent.

Mission 23. Isis
“Use Isis to sneak past the guards in order to obtain information on the location of the Batcave.”
[ ] Reach the end of the museum
[ ] Don’t move backwards
[ ] Meow 25 times

In this mission, you actually control Catwoman’s cat Isis. Your goal here is to make it to the far right part of the stage, from the far left. You have to jump over the lasers and avoid the flashlights of the guards. The guards seem to randomly use their flashlights. Your best bet is to just try to jump by them and get as far away from their flashlight as possible. It’s good to wait until they are far to the left, or at least in the middle, before doing this so that you have room to get to the other side without having to worry about getting caught by the flashlight. To meow, just mash on the face buttons. You can get this done with right at the start if you want, or wait until you get to the very end just in case you lose and don’t want to mash on the buttons over and over again.

Mission 24. Rumble In The Museum
“Using Catwoman’s nimble reflexes, defeat 20 guards in under 40 seconds before the alarm goes off.”
[ ] Defeat the guards
[ ] Win without dashing
[ ] Flawless Victory

These guards have very little health, and basically one hit will defeat them.

Mission 25. Safe Cracker
“The museum break-in led Catwoman to a safe at Wayne Manor. Hit Wayne’s safe to crack it open within 30 seconds.”
[ ] Break into the safe
[ ] Break into the safe using only Light Attacks
[ ] Win with more than 15 seconds remaining

There are no hazards to worry about here. Just run up and mash on buttons and hit combos to damage the safe.

Mission 26. Bloodletting
“Catwoman was injured opening the safe containing the Batcave map. Complete the list of moves in the tracker before you pass out from blood loss.”

[ ] Survive 8 seconds without being hit

Catwoman will constantly have her health drained here due to blood loss. So, not only do you have to worry about that, but you also have to worry about fighting Nightwing as well, and he can become a real pain due to his staff. If you are having an especially hard time with this one, don’t worry about doing the moves in order until you have a better handle on Catwoman’s attacks.

Mission 27. Batters Up
“Catwoman has finally found the Batcave, but bats are attacking! Kill the bats, but be sure not to get hit five times.”
[ ] Stop the bats
[ ] Don’t get hit by any bats
[ ] Hit the red bat

Bats will fly in from the right side of the screen in waves. Keep an eye out for the red bat, because it will appear in one of the waves at random. To damage the bats, you just have to hit them with any of your attacks. As the bats increase in number, I found it easier to jump and attack at the same time.

Mission 28. Cat’s Eye
“Nightwing should know better than to fight a cat in the dark. Use your goggles’ night vision to defeat Nightwing.”

[ ] Destroy the Batrobot
[ ] Win with a Level Transition

The gimmick here is that the screen will have an orange tint to it due to Catwoman’s goggles, but otherwise there’s not much new. The Batrobot is at the far left of the stage, and to break it you need to perform moves in front of it. Once that’s destroyed, you can send Nightwing through the Batcave with a Level Transition easily enough.

Mission 29. Going Up?
“Navigate Catwoman through the security system of lasers and traps in order to reach the Batcave’s elevator.”
[ ] Reach the elevator
[ ] Complete the path backwards
[ ] Win without jumping

This one drove me absolutely insane, but hopefully you have better luck. Basically, there are laser grids on the ground that appear and disappear. You need to wait for them to disappear, and time it so you can dash through the lasers. I found it was actually harder if I tried jumping through here, so at least one of those secondary stars will be easy enough to achieve. You also need to watch out for spotlights, but I found the spotlights here were much easier to bypass than the ones on the roof from the earlier mission.

Mission 30. The Getaway
“Catwoman has finally located the Batmobile. Defeat both Nightwing and Batman, then activate the switch to release your prize.”
[ ] Steal the Batmobile
[ ] Win with full second Health Bar
[ ] Throw 6 times

You have to fight Nightwing and then Batman right in a row. Defeat Nightwing, and then focus on Batman. Spread your throws between the two fighters so that it doesn’t become too tedious, and check to see if you’ve accomplished it every once in a while by pressing the “back” button (select on PS3). When Batman is nearly defeated, you will have to get to the Batmobile and press the big red button that usually fires the missiles. Instead of firing missiles, Catwoman will escape with the Batmobile.

4. THE FLASH

Mission 31. Sparks
“You must act quickly to stop Lex, but he’s sent Deathstroke to slow you down. Attack him with the moves listed above to get by him, and back to your mission!”

You know the drill by now.

Mission 32. The Scarlet Speedster
“Grundy is destroying Metropolis to distract Flash. Save humans by pressing RB near them before they get crushed by falling debris.”
[ ] Defeat Grundy
[ ] Get 10 citizens to safety
[ ] Land an 8 Hit Combo

Only a few citizens can be crushed by debris before you get a mission failure. Whenever you see a citizen, immediately press RB to save them. Keep an eye on the background all the while fighting Grundy. Flash’s superpower doesn’t help all that much in this situation, unfortunately, but do the best you can. You can hear the debris falling to the ground, and if you can’t see that debris falling on-screen, then you need to quickly get to the left or right to find where it is falling and save that civilian before they end up crushed.

Mission 33. Slow Down
“Another Roadblock! With only minutes until the bomb detonates, Grundy and Doomsday stand in your way. Use your Character Power to help defeat them.”
[ ] Defeat all villains
[ ] Win without using Character Power
[ ] Win with a Super Move

It’s amusing that the description of the level encourages you to use your Character Power to defeat them, but the stars challenge you to win without using the Character Power. This fight is pretty tough. Grundy and Doomsday are heavies, and Doomsday’s armor ability makes Flash’s attacks barely hurt at all. As long as you can get past Grundy with at least some of your first health bar, then you should still stand a fighting chance against Doomsday.

Mission 34. Race Around The World
“Race Superman around the globe to be the first to find info on Lex. Tap any button to fill the boost meter. When full press RT to boost.”
[ ] Get there first
[ ] Win by 50 laps
[ ] Use only 1 boost

Mash on the buttons to build up the meter. When the meter is full, you can still mash on the buttons to keep going around the world. Press RT (or R2 or the Wii U’s trigger, as relevant) to use the meter and get a significant speed boost. At that point, you will be able to refill the meter by button mashing once again.

Mission 35. Pressure Chamber
“The Watchtower has info on Luthor, but Doomsday is depressurizing the station! Flash must activate the switch on the left to close the airlock at the right time.”
[ ] Defeat Doomsday
[ ] Don’t lose any air
[ ] Use no Super Meter

Another fight with Doomsday. This mission does have an added gimmick to it, however. Not only do you have to fight Doomsday, but the oxygen will exit the area at certain times as well. When this happens, you have to hurry to the big red button at the far left of the stage and press it to re-pressurize the room so Flash doesn’t lose too much health.

Mission 36. When It Rains
“Lex has sent Black Adam to place detonators at Wayne Manor. Defeat your enemy while avoiding falling debris from Watchtower.”
[ ] Defeat Black Adam
[ ] Win with 30 or more seconds remaining
[ ] Win after getting First Hit

Quickly hit Black Adam right off the bat to get the first star out of the way. Then just beat him as quickly as possible. The falling debris is nothing you haven’t dealt with before.

Mission 37. Grundy Smash
“Grundy is trying to stop Flash from disarming Lex’s bombs. Avoid the rocks by using your Character Power to slow down time.”
[ ] Reach Grundy
[ ] Avoid 15 rocks
[ ] Don’t duck any rocks

Just hurry to Grundy. Jump over rocks and run under the ones he throws over your head.

Mission 38. Nicked
“Only Catwoman stands between you and Luthor! Flash will regain his Character Power when the timer hits zero – use it to even the odds.”
[ ] Defeat Catwoman
[ ] Win without using Character Power
[ ] Use your Character Power 4 times

This is another mission that will require you to play it at least two times to get all three stars. When the timer hits zero, you will be able to use your Character Power, though I personally find Flash’s Character Power useless and never bothered using it anyways. Obviously you can’t use it four times while also winning without using it, so you’ll have to jump into this mission a couple of times to take away all of the stars.

Mission 39. Locked On
“Stop Luthor from completing his evil plan. Eliminate Lex while avoiding the targeted laser strikes.”
[ ] Defeat Lex
[ ] Survive 8 seconds without being hit
[ ] Win a Clash

You’ll be able to see laser strikes fire down on the area by the faded red line that appears for a brief second. Use this visual cue to dodge the lasers to the best of your ability.

Mission 40. Go Boom!
“Luthor is trying to slow you down by using experimental shield technology. When Luthor’s shield activates damage will be reflected back at the attacker.”

[ ] Win without using Character Power

The purple shield that surrounds Lex will cause you to take damage whenever you attack him. Obviously, this isn’t a good situation. Whenever his shield is up, just avoid him completely until it goes back down and then resume attacking him.

Mission 41. Strength Of Hercules
“Show Batman each of your moves at the top of the screen before starting the search for Black Adam.”

Once again, just do the moves at the top of the screen. I find Shazam to be a tough all-around character to play, so pay attention.

Mission 42. Power Of Zeus
“Black Adam cut all power to Ferris, which will meltdown unless restored. Shazam can restore power by standing near the generators until fully charged.”

[ ] Connect 3 Meter Burn Special Moves and win

There are three generators lying around the stage. Simply stand next to them to power them up completely. Block a lot and hold your ground to power them up quickly. I crouched in front of the generators and just hit Adam whenever he got close.

Mission 43. Cloud Day
“Black Adam took out a contract on your life. Defeat Deathstroke while avoiding the lightning strikes, which will turn Shazam back into Billy Baston.”

Annoying lightning strikes will come down, and being hit by even one will cause you to lose the mission. Unless little Billy Baston can take on Deathstroke, but somehow I find that notion hard to swallow. Blue dust clouds will come off the ground at areas where the lightning will strike, so you know when to expect it.

Mission 44. Blood Bank
“Shazam and Lex have been infected with vampiric poison that regens health with each hit. Shazam is also bleeding out!”

Both you and Lex Luthor will regenerate health every single time you land a hit. However, you are constantly losing health as well, so you need to constantly be landing attacks on Lex to keep yourself from bleeding out and losing the mission. Also try to get that Level Transition in there to at least take away one extra star.

Mission 45. Can’t See Me
“Lex has brainwashed Cyborg and sent him after Shazam. Defeat a cloaked Cyborg and return to your search.”

Cyborg is completely invisible for this mission, but you can always pretty much guess where he’s at due to the camera. Honestly, it doesn’t make the mission any harder. NetherRealm and Warner Bros. could’ve saved some money by making the entire roster invisible!

Mission 46. Wisdom Of Solomon
“Lex is assisting Black Adam in obtaining an ancient Egyptian artifact. Complete the list of moves on the right side of the screen before time runs out.”

Yup, another one of these. Just like with the Catwoman mission like this, only bother trying to complete the moves in order if you have a really good handle on Shazam’s move-set, otherwise you are going to be in for quite the frustrating experience.

Mission 47. Antarctic
“Catwoman is locked in Arkham, but is protecting Black Adam’s location. Penguin will attack the closest fighter to him with his umbrella.”

Penguin will constantly put the person that is closest to him asleep. Because of that, you will want to hug far left or far right parts of the stage so that Catwoman is the one that is constantly put asleep instead. Yet again, this is a mission that will require at least two go-throughs in order to get all the stars, because one star requires you to never be put to sleep and the other requires you to be put asleep three times. Talk about a Catch-22!

Mission 48. Mercury’s Speed
“Reports are coming of Black Adam attacking Gotham! No time to waste. Soar through the air while smashing through the rocks. Use LS to fly.”

Your goal here is to fly through the air and fly Shazam through the rocks. Simply control Shazam using the left analog stick and make him hit as many rocks as possible before you reach the end.

Mission 49. S H A Z A M
“You have finally caught up to Black Adam. Perform the higher damaging combo to receive one letter of SHAZAM. First to spell out SHAZAM wins.”

If you are at all familiar with the basketball game HORSE, then you know what to expect here. You have to build a combo percentage higher than Black Adam’s each turn. The first one to spell “SHAZAM” will win the match. Practicing juggle combos is a good way to earn high percentages, plus simply mimicking Black Adam’s attacks is not a bad idea either.

Mission 50. Air Battle
“Black Adam has taken tot he air! Blast him with everything you got. LS controls flight, RT shoots, RS or hold LT + LS to control fire direction.”

Use all of Bane’s moves. If I am remembering correctly, Bane is the first “heavy” character that you are using in S.T.A.R. Labs. Because of this, you will need to practice with him a bit to get a feel for his play style.

Mission 52. Zap Zap
“It seems that other villains are interested in the Venom as well. Defeat Harley while avoiding the lightning strikes.”

Once again, lightning strikes have been added to bring a gimmick to this bout. Look for the dust coming up off the ground to have an idea where the lightning will hit.

Mission 53. Give Me Life
“While searching a cave for Venom, Bane was bit by a vampiric bat. Each hit that lands will regain a portion of health lost during the fight.”

Attacking Deathstroke will let you regain your own health. This mission is completely stacked in your favor. Just hit those 10 Special Moves (or spam the same one) and don’t use any Meter Burns or your LT+RT and you’ll be golden. As you can tell, Bane’s missions are actually quite easy to get all three stars, especially this one.

Mission 54. Stay Alive
“Bane is weakened and desperately needs more Venom, but Flash has been sent to protect the supply. Survive for 20 seconds without being hit by any attacks.”

This mission takes place at Wayne Manor. It provides yet another golden opportunity to easily get all three stars. First thing’s first, you’ll want to use an Interactive Object right away. There’s a red car at the left side of the stage you can use, or you can use the motorcycle on the right. Then it’s just a matter of surviving the 20 seconds. Bane’s throws actually eat away a nice portion of the clock, so go for them whenever possible.

Mission 55. Venom Rage
“Continually use Bane’s Character Power to regain life. Insufficient life regeneration will result in failure.”

[ ] Survive 8 seconds without being hit

Bane can juice with Venom up to three times before having to wait for it to recharge. You will only have one health bar here, and you need to use the Venom to heal Bane. Use all three Venom injections at once and then wail on your opponent until you are able to “juice” again to keep Bane alive. Obviously don’t waste the Venom if you are at full health or close there. Get your opponent down to a sliver of health, and then just jump around the stage and use the Venom to keep yourself fully healed until you have used it 20 times to satisfy that requirement.

Mission 56. Pulverize And Thrash
“You must retrieve more Venom. Defeat 20 Joker Thugs before time expires to get one step closer.”

Just a single hit will defeat the Joker Thugs. If you don’t take any damage, then you will get another star. You can use that hanging pig corpse to satisfy the Interactive Object requirement, plus you can also use it to just keep baiting the thugs right into a death trap of you swinging the thing across the screen to take them out.

Mission 57. Ice Box
“Stop Doomsday from getting the last of the Venom. Fight Doomsday while avoiding the falling ice conjured by Killer Frost.”

[ ] Win a Clash

Ice falls from the sky and will freeze both you and Doomsday. Otherwise, it’s just a normal battle.

Mission 58. Fender-Bender
“Bane wants to keep Batman from being able to escape with the Venom. Destroy the Batmobile before time expires, and watch out for its defenses.”

[ ] Make 12 rockets hit the Batmobile

This is kind of like the mission where you had to destroy the APC that Deathstroke was hiding inside, except with Bane and the Batmobile. The Batmobile will shoot flames from its side, and it’s kind of tough to gauge when that happens. Also keep an eye on the green lasers on the ground, as these indicate a missile strike. If you go clear to the left of the screen and then go right up hugging the Batmobile, then back up a bit, you can easily trick the missiles into damaging the Batmobile for you.

Mission 59. Juiced Up
“The lack of Venom is making Bane enraged! You have 15 seconds to defeat Nightwing and advance towards the Venom supply.”

This seems like an impossible task at first glance, but if you juice up, you can kill Nightwing with four punches.

Mission 60. Break The Bat
“You must weaken Batman and perform Bane’s Backbreaker. Defeat Batman to obtain the Venom you so badly need.”

You don’t actually have to perform the Backbreaker to win this one. You just have to beat Batman. If Batman has about a quarter of health left, the combo for the backbreaker will come up on screen for you to perform if you want.

I really enjoyed this mission. Basically, it’s a shoot-out against Deathstroke. The first one of you to shoot (down, right, X for Harley — and down, right, square on PS3…down, right, Y on Wii U) after the clock goes down will be able to damage the other one. Sometimes you have to fire off a couple of shots for it to land, however.

Mission 63. Deadshot
“Harley has been ambushed! Stay alive for 60 seconds while dodging incoming rockets and grenades.”

Deadshot is a character that is not actually seen in the game, but he’s basically a super-talented assassin that can take hits from miles and miles away. I guess his sniper rifle just wasn’t good enough to take out Harley Quinn, though. Move to the left and right of the screen to avoid the missiles. The grenades pretty much always land in the same spot, but they will probably be the thing you need to watch out for, as the missiles are easily avoided. Don’t look at Harley, but rather keep your eyes on the sky, and you will have a much better shot at avoiding the incoming fire.

Mission 64. Two-Face
“Stop Catwoman and find the answers you’re looking for. Two-Face is on the scene, and will flip his coin to determine who he’ll shoot next.”

Two-Face never actually even fired a shot when I played this mission, but if he does, it’s probably just like any other gimmick mission.

Y (triangle on PS3, X on Wii U) will fire high, X (square on PS3, Y on Wii U) will fire medium, and A (X on PS3, B on Wii U) will fire at the chattering teeth on the ground. The teeth and the high pies are easy to shoot out of the air, but the medium pies are a pain. If there’s a bit of blue on the thug’s hands, that means he’s about to throw a pie, so just assume it’s a medium pie. If not, you will have time to recover and take it out of the air if it turns out to be a high pie.

Mission 67. Kisses!
“The last battle has left Harley injured and her health is depleting. Use your Character Power B to regain health. Contain Catwoman to get answers.”

Your health will constantly be draining, but Harley can keep regenerating her health by kissing the picture of The Joker. Press B and just mash on it to regenerate your health during the fight as you fight off Catwoman. Whenever you knock Catwoman down, take that opportunity to regenerate your health.

Mission 68. Cat Got Your Tongue
“Now that Harley has Catwoman alone she can finally get some answers. Press the correct buttons to keep both meters above the lines until time runs out.”

There will be a meter on the left side of the screen and a meter on the right side of the screen. Mash on the buttons below the meter simultaneously to build the meter and keep it above the threshold until the timer runs out.

“The trail has led Harley to Luthor, who has shrunk her down with an experimental weapon. Jump and slide to avoid the lasers while collecting cubes to weaken Lex’s defenses.”

Red lasers have to be jumped over and green lasers have to be slid under. The game will have on-screen control instructions for performing these moves.

Mission 70. Deception

For the most part, this is just a typical battle with Lex Luthor, albeit with an added twist. He will shoot these big lightning cubes at Harley. The ones that are floating are easy to duck, but the ones coming right at you have to be jumped over. The trick is to move far back to the opposite side of the screen as far as you can go, and then move toward the cube and jump at the last second. You can’t hurt Lex while he’s shooting these cubes because he has a force field protecting him from danger.

The number in the middle of the screen tells you the wind resistance. Play around with this to get a good feel of how much the bar needs filled for you to land a shot on Green Arrow. Hold A and then release it to fill the bar. Release it when it is at the right amount that you think you’ll need to land a shot on Green Arrow. The first one to get hit five times loses.

Mission 73. Assassin’s Strike
“Deathstroke must progress past the rock trap. Slice incoming rocks by pressing Y for high swing, A for low swing.”

Hit the rocks coming in from above with a high swing, and the ones coming in low with a low swing. Don’t jump the gun on the rocks, you do have to kind of wait a bit for them to get close enough before you can successfully slice through one.

“Another day, another target to eliminate. Time your movements carefully to avoid the erupting fire.”

Fire will show up on the ground as an added hazard, but it’s easily dodged. Otherwise, just focus on beating Harley.

Mission 75. Bomb, Shield, And Sword

Rock, paper, scissors, shoot! Except with bombs, swords, and shields. This is just a guessing game, but if you find your opponent constantly making the same choice, then I found the AI will get stuck and keep making that same choice until it either hits you or you hit them.

Mission 76. Target Acquired
“Lex is trying to stop you from completing your contract. Eliminate Green Lantern while avoiding the targeted laser strikes.”

Avoid the lasers and lay into Green Lantern. You’ll be able to tell when the lasers are going to strike the same way that you did earlier.

Mission 77. Pipe Bomb
“You must get past the pipes to get to your contract. Press the corresponding button on-screen to shoot a bomb at a selected pipe. Time your shot when steam is not present.”

You have to fire into the pipes when there’s no steam coming out of them. That’s all there is to it. Shoot a bomb at the fire to complete an extra objective and earn an extra star.

“In order to fulfill your contract on Bane, you must battle him while avoiding the laser hazards triggered by Luthor’s men.”

Mission 79. Now You See Me

First you have to fight an invisible Cyborg (again). Upon beating invisible Cyborg, you will have to fight an invisible Lex, though he only has one health bar. As long as you keep an eye on his health bar, it’s easy to get all three stars here. It just requires you to get the first hit and win with a Super Move.

Mission 80. Eagle Eye
“Lex isn’t getting away this time! When he launches his missiles into the air, press RT to destroy them before causing additional damage.”

This is mostly just a regular fight with Lex, except he will sometimes call missiles down on you. This will take you to the scope of Deathstroke’s gun. As soon as a missile flies within the middle of the cursor, press RT to shoot it.

It’s kind of hard to see what’s going on because Green Arrow’s vision is impaired during this fight, but otherwise it’s really easy to get all three stars here. Just avoid Lex to cross off the second objective and then make sure you win with a Level Transition at the end of the fight.

Mission 83. Crowd Control
“Green Arrow has tracked a group of corrupt police officers from the list. Shoot the correct arrows at the oncoming color-coded officers.”

There are three different arrow types:  fire, electric, and ice. The game will tell you which arrow you need to equip at the top of the screen for the next enemy that is about to charge you. This is a mission that will require multiple playthroughs to get all the stars, because there’s a star for never using the wrong arrow type (easily done thanks to the fact that the game straight-up tells you the exact button combination for each arrow you need right before you need it), and one for purposely using the wrong arrow type three times.

Mission 84. Sea King
“Aquaman has been brainwashed and only Green Arrow can stop him. While underwater your movements will be slower.”

This is just a normal fight with Aquaman, albeit the stage is under water. While underwater, your movements are much slower than normal.

Mission 85. Big Shot

Remember that mini-game with Deathstroke earlier in which you held A to fill up a meter, and then released “A” at the right time to throw the grenade, taking account for wind resistance? That’s the same idea here, except with Green Arrow. It also takes less hits to win this one.

Mission 86. Sharpshooter
“Press the correct buttons to stop the robot soldiers. This elite force is protecting those in the black book. Stop at least 13 robots.”

Another shooting gallery. Robots will pop up out of the background and you have to hit the proper button combination to take them out. Be quick about it.

Mission 87. Glass House
“Killer Frost, number six in the black book, has set off a cave-in in the Batcave. Be careful of your attacks or your might accelerate the damage.”

If you don’t defeat Killer Frost fast enough, the ceiling will collapse and you will lose. Also, the debris becomes more intense the harder you hit Killer Frost. Keeping your distance and using your bow is a great strategy for this fight, because then you will have much more room to avoid the debris.

Mission 88. The Harder They Fall
“According to the list, Green Arrow must put an end to Sinestro. Over the course of the fight he will become power powerful.”

[ ] Win before Sinestro reaches his max difficulty

Every 10 seconds or so, Sinestro will become more difficult to fight. It’s actually not that hard to defeat him before he reaches max difficulty, because he starts at the lowest difficulty. It’s at this time that you can basically destroy him with next to zero opposition to worry about.

Mission 89. Aim High
“As the falling rocks plummet run over to their corresponding locations and shoot upwards to destroy them.”

Keep an eye on the sky as large rocks are falling to the ground. Dash to get around the rooftop quickly. You have to destroy at least 20 rocks. Jumping is not advised as it is more likely you will just wind up jumping straight into a boulder rather than jumping and landing where you need to be underneath the boulder.

Mission 90. Broken Arrow
“If Bane inflicts too much damage, Green Arrow will drop his bow. Pick it back up, and regain your abilities, by pressing RB.”

This is just a normal fight with Bane, albeit with an added gimmick on top. The added gimmick here is that when Bane hits you hard enough, Green Arrow will drop his bow. Without the bow, Green Arrow is useless, and you can’t do anything until you retrieve the bow. Be sure to watch which side of the screen the bow is knocked to, and then try your best to jump over Bane to quickly retrieve the bow and resume the fight.

Mission 91. Suit Up
“Security is manufacturing! Lex must navigate past security lasers and drones to reach his power suit.”

Just jump 20 times right off the bat to get it out of the way. Be conservative if you don’t want to get hit it. The trick is to listen to the sounds the lasers make. It’s kind of like a platforming rhythm game in a sense. At any rate, make it to the left side of the stage by dodging the lasers. It’s possible to straight-up just dash through everything and come out relatively unscathed.

Mission 92. Enter Lex
“Luthor must train with his new powersuit before his mission to Atlantis. Execute each move at the top of the screen.”
[ ] See what the power suit can do
[ ] Land a 4 Hit Juggle Combo
[ ] Throw 6 times

Instead of the combo practicing being the first mission, it’s the second mission. Proceed as normal.

Mission 93. There And Back Again

Pong! This is just a glorified game of Pong. Good luck. Remember the trick to Pong is to flick your shield INTO the ball, as opposed to just holding it in a position to try to bounce the ball back.

“Lex’s plan to take Atlantis interferes with Killer Frost’s desire to freeze the planet. Her cold presence causes Lex’s orbs to malfunction and attack Lex every 10 seconds.”

Mission 96. Burn The Evidence

Punch the soldier to get the evidence. Hit him with an uppercut or something to knock him back and then walk over the file on the ground to collect it. Once you have all the evidence, go to the fireplace at the far left part of the stage and mash on RB to burn it. Tilt the left analog stick away from the soldier so that you can block his attacks if he tries to disrupt the paper burning.

Mission 97. Lantern’s Defense
“Green Lantern will do everything in his power to keep Lex from Atlantis. Over the course of the fight he will become more powerful.”

This is just like the Green Arrow/Black Adam fight from earlier, except with Green Lantern (and Lex Luthor, obviously).

Mission 98. Air Strike

There are four different areas, each governed by a button press. This is just glorified whack-a-mole. Even if you take the maximum amount of hits, all this means is that Luthor will stop and recover from the damage momentarily, which just means you’ll have less time to destroy all the mines.

Mission 99. Go Deep
“It is time for Lex’s assault! Avoid depth charges while diving to reach Atlantis. Collect air bubbles to fill your oxygen meter.”

Collecting the air bubbles is imperative to success here. Obviously you’ll want to avoid the mines, but go out of your way to get those bubbles. It’s super-easy to run out of air during this part.

“Defeat Aquaman while he is powered up to take Atlantis. Your movements will be slower underwater.”

Nightwing’s introductory mission is kind of like Luthor’s in the sense that it’s not the traditional one we’ve come to expect from these S.T.A.R. Labs Missions. First you have to mash on the three buttons on the screen to break free, and then you have to go through the combos listed on top of the screen as normal. Throw in a couple of throws to snag an extra star as well.

Mission 102. Hide And Seek
“Now that Nightwing has escaped his confines. Use your night vision to navigate past the security lasers. You have 40 seconds to reach the end.”

[ ] Win with 10 or more seconds remaining

Press RT to activate your night vision. This will allow you to see the laser grid. Try to memorize where the laser grids are ahead of you, and keep an eye out for the spotlights. The spotlight areas are ones you’ll want to get by quickly, so use visual clues in the foreground to keep track of where the laser grids are, because your night vision does have to recharge.

Mission 103. Bad Gas
“Standing within Grundy’s gas cloud causes Nightwing damage. Defeat Grundy as the gas cloud grows over time until the screen is covered.”

Press B right off the bat so Nightwing uses his long staff. This staff will be needed because you can’t be close to Grundy. Being close to Grundy will drain Nightwing’s health.

“Grundy is back for more defeat him while avoiding the Swamp Hands. The Swamp Hands can be destroyed with Nightwing’s projectile attacks.”

This is yet another fight with Grundy, but with the added gimmick of “swamp hands” rising from the ground and grabbing you. You can destroy them or ignore them.

You don’t have to actually fight Bane like normal, but rather just wail on him until you’ve hit him enough times. Nightwing is very fast, so don’t worry about the time running out. It should really be a non-factor.

Mission 106. Freezer Burn
“Killer Frost has conjured an ice storm. Defeat her while avoiding the falling ice.”

Another falling ice battle. You’ll fight Killer Frost, and if the ice hits you or Killer Frost, the two of you will wind up frozen in place, but just momentarily.

Mission 107. Paint This
“Sinestro and Raven team up to take down Wayne Manor. Nightwing must stop Sinestro while avoiding incoming projectiles thrown by Raven.”

Raven is the gimmick here. Otherwise, it’s just a typical fight with Sinestro. Most of Nightwing’s attacks are attacks to the head, so don’t fret about satisfying that particular requirement.

Whack-a-mole in space. Hit the buttons repeatedly to blast the meteors before they can hit the Earth. Button mashing is a viable strategy here.

“Deathstroke has a contract to protect Sinestro from Hal, and has allied himself with Scarecrow. Stop them before the madness overcomes Hal.”

Mission 114. Headache

You don’t actually have to fight Doomsday, just keep attacking his head (this will come easily enough simply by hitting him with normal attacks and combos) until you have done so enough times.

Yay, the exploding floor fires return. Same strategy as always with these gimmick fights.

Mission 116. Frozen Skies

Avoid the ice, beat Frost. Simple enough. This time the ice won’t freeze you, though, but rather it will just damage you.

Mission 117. Kilowog

Kilowog can be called upon by pressing RB, which makes the fight incredibly easy, but if you use him, you won’t be able to get all three stars. If you’re not worried about getting all the stars, then spam Kilowog to just teat through Joker. Otherwise, get Joker away from Kilowog (to avoid accidentally using him), and then fight him like normal, sneaking in the six throws throughout the fight.

Mission 118. Outfield
“Defend against Sinestro’s constructs coming from the air. Swing at constructs by pressing Y for high swing, A for low sing.”

I found this one to be incredibly annoying. You need to master Cyborg’s grappling ability to avoid being electrocuted, and the electricity will zap the floor every time the timer at the top of the screen counts down. To make matters worse, you can’t jump at all.

Mission 126. Rocket! Rocket!
“Lex Luthor, the brains behind your attempted kidnapping, has sent waves of missiles towards you. 7 hits results in failure so try to avoid them.”

Mission 127. Need A Nurse

Remember that Harley Quinn mission where you could mash B to regain your health? This is the exact same thing, except with Cyborg.

Run up and attack the big robot. Keep an eye on the green cursor on the ground, because that indicates a missile strike headed your way, courtesy of Lex Luthor.

An exact copy of an earlier mission, except with Hawkgirl. You should know the drill by now. Avoid the rocks that are on fire and smash through the regular ones, no matter what their size.

Mission 137. Distress Call
“A distress call has gone out from Watchtower! Reach the station by flying upward while avoiding the falling rocks. Use LS to fly.”

This is like the missions a couple of missions back, except it is vertical instead of horizontal, and you want to avoid the rocks like the plague. You can fail the mission by hitting too many rocks, so avoid them to the best of your ability.

“Hawkgirl has arrived just in time at the Watchtower. Stop each of the evil invaders before it’s too late.”

Fight off all the enemies that are at the Watchtower right in a row. They will only have their second health bar, so it shouldn’t be too demanding.

Mission 139. The Power of Nth
“Luthor has promised Ares a weapon made of Nth if he helps him defeat Hawkgirl. Complete the list of moves in the tracker before time expires to obtain Luthor’s whereabouts.”

Finally, a new background character to influence the fight! The Riddler will hang out in the background and toss big green “?”. Touch them to pick them up and you’ll either gain an ability, or a negative effect. Your opponent can pick these power-ups up as well.

Mission 143. Heart Broken
“Harley is trying to get in on Joker’s fun! Over the course of the fight she will become more angry.”

[ ] Win after Harley reaches her max difficulty

Yet again, we come to a mission that is a carbon copy of previous missions. Harley will start at the lowest difficulty, but by the end of the fight, she will be at the highest difficulty. This mission is quite easy to get all the stars in, though, so all you need to do really is get her down to as low as health as possible, throw her a couple of times, and then wait for the timers to disappear and then attack her and finish her off so that you have defeated her while she’s at her max difficulty.

Mission 144. Catnip
“Catwoman doesn’t like the idea of competing with Joker! While fighting Catwoman, fend off Isis by performing the on-screen commands.”

A normal fight with Catwoman, except Isis will occasionally jump on your face. When this happens, hit the buttons that pop up on the screen correctly and quickly to get her off and avoid taking any damage.

“Joker’s thugs are raining poison all over Gotham to cause havok! Defeat Green Arrow while avoiding the poisonous rain.”

Poison rain will fall to the ground, causing damage. Otherwise, this is a normal fight with Green Arrow.

Mission 146. Downsized

This mission is really, really weird. I believe this marks the first time in a S.T.A.R. Labs Mission in which you aren’t playing as the character whose missions you are on, but rather a character that isn’t even in the game in a playable form at all! In this mission, you play as Atom. Jump to collect the cubes, slide over green lasers, and jump over red lasers to reach the end of the level. You’ll have to be quick with your button presses in this one, and there’s no real room for messing up. This mission is entirely trial-and-error.

Mission 147. Slow Me Down
“Hawkgirl is helping Killer Frost take back the nanobot tech you just stole. Mash any button to break free from the ice and defeat her.”

Every few seconds, Joker will freeze. Wiggle the left analog stick from left to right to break free of the ice and continue the fight as normal.

Mission 148. Bombs Away
“Joker needs to destroy part of Arkham Asylum and free his henchmen. Press RB to plant bombs at all 3 locations. You have 60 seconds.”

There are three red X’s on the ground. One in the center of the area, one to the right, and one to the left. Hold RB to plant the bombs. You can stop the planting to knock Nightwing back and give yourself more room if needed.

“Catwoman is back, but this time Joker won’t let her get away! Two-Face will also flip his coin to determine who he’ll shoot next.”

Normal fight with Catwoman, except with Two-Face periodically shooting you guys. Once again, Two-Face never involved himself in the fight with my experience, but I don’t know if that’s just an issue with my copy of the game or if it is a widespread problem. Mission 150. It takes Two
“To even the odds, Joker has joined forces with his beloved Harley. For a one time use press LT and Harley Quinn will aid in your fight.”

You start this fight without your second health bar, but you are able to summon Harley by pressing LT. Harley will have one health bar as well, but she is completely expendable because you can only summon her once anyways.

Remember the mission earlier where you had to kill the bats? This is just like this, except with wasps. There’s a “red” wasp to watch out for as well, aka the fire wasp. The same strategy used there will apply here. Jumping attacks are the most effective.

There are two tentacles on the stage. There’s one on the left and one on the right. If you stay in the middle, you can pretty easily avoid both of the tentacles. Knock Wonder Woman tot he right and left side of the screen to make the tentacles hit her. The tentacles do a tremendous amount of damage, taking away about a quarter of health with each tentacle swipe that lands.

Mission 160. D-Day
“Time has come to exact your revenge! Stop Superman while he is enraged. With Superman’s death, your vengeance on the Justice League will be complete.”

A regular tutorial mission, though I do believe this marks the first time that you are asked to target the legs instead of the head. It’s actually very easy to target the legs; simply duck down and start swinging at them!

“A deadly assassin has been sent to stop Sinestro. Execute the command at the top of the screen just as time hits zero to outdraw Deathstroke.”

Mission 163. Slippery When Wet
“While underwater Sinestro’s movements will be slower. Aquaman fights at normal speed.”

It’s VERY easy to get all three stars in this mission. Just hit Aquaman first, throw him twice, and then defeat him. You’re underwater, but Sinestro’s moveset is hardly effected by this fact.

“Sinestro has discovered that Lex has possession of a Lantern’s ring. Break through the rings shield while avoiding the laser hazards.”

Mission 165. Green With Envy

The first person to land 60 hits wins the match. There are no health bars, just a race to see who can land the most hits first.

This is a repeat of the mission from earlier where you destroy asteroids that are headed to Earth.

All the odds are stacked in your favor for this fight. It’s a regular fight with Green Lantern, except you can call for help from Atrocitus in the background by pressing RB when you are standing in the middle of the stage. Of course, if you can avoid using him, you should, as not using him will satisfy one of the star requirements.

Raven’s health meter constantly depletes during this battle with Killer Frost. Nothing new, yet again.

Mission 173. Raven Attack
“Use the Shadow Raven attack to destroy the incoming bats. Hold RT to shoot, LS to aim, LT (full meter) explodes the ravens.

This mission offers a new twist on the “kill flying things in the Batcave” mission that we’ve already seen multiple times. You can mash RT to fire blasts to destroy the bats. You can do this infinitely, so you never really have to let up on RT, but press LT once your Super Meter is full to kill all the bats on-screen at once.

Mission 174. Rock N Roll
“Reach Bane before he crushes you with heavy boulders.”

Bane tends to mostly throw boulders through the air, so just run forward and be ready to jump over the boulders rolling on the ground.

Quickly hit the buttons that appear at the top of the screen to free Nightwing.

Mission 176. Titans Go
“The demon Trigon has possessed Raven to hurt her friends! Defeat the Titans.”

The game tries to trick you into wasting your Super Move on Cyborg. It says that you just have to fight the Teen Titans, but Deathstroke is your enemy as well, and the third and final person that you have to fight in this Gauntlet.

Mission 177. Trigon’s Pain
“Trigon’s demonic force has sped up time. Be the first to perform 75 hits.”

This is just like the Sinestro mission against Green Arrow, except now you have to hit 75 hits instead of 60.

Mission 178. Pass the Poison
“Green Arrow has been infected with a toxic contagion, but that won’t stop Raven! The last one hit will be infected with the virus.”

A weird dark tint is over the stage. In the meantime, the last person hit will take damage constantly from the toxin. You can technically land 10 Special Moves and throw 6 times if you’re REALLY good at the game, but chances are Green Arrow will die before you’re able to pull off both. If you end up killing him before you can earn all three stars, then just redo the fight and then focus on the other objective that you didn’t get last time.

Mission 179. Life Steal
“Trigon’s evil power over Raven is overwhelming! Steal health by landing attacks against Hawkgirl.”

[ ] Win after getting First Hit

There is really no way you can lose this one. Every single time you land a hit on Hawkgirl, your health refills. So all you need to do is land the first hit, and then just beat the hell out of Hawkgirl and you should come out of this fight with all three stars.

Mission 180. Return of Trigon
“Trigon comes fort to confront Raven directly, father to daughter. Defeat Trigon to prove where your allegiances lie.”

Aquaman’s moveset is actually the easiest to learn, in my opinion, so this tutorial should be a piece of cake.

“Deathstroke is coming for Aquaman, so head him off by going to him! Stop Deathstroke and watch out for Penguin’s umbrella attack on the closest fighter.”

Yup, you’ll have to do this one at least twice.

Mission 183. King Of Atlantis

Unlike the other missions like this, Aquaman’s is incredibly easy to not only hit the moves, but hit them in order. The reason for that is none of Aquaman’s moves requires the opponent to be in the air.

“Cyborg has attempted to set a trap for Aquaman so he can take over Atlantis. Show him how slippery you are while avoiding lasers.”

Lasers constantly fall out of the sky, but it’s not big deal. You’ve seen this before.

Mission 185. Back Alley
“Standing within Grundy’s gas cloud causes Aquaman damage. Defeat Grundy as the gas cloud grows over time until the screen is covered.”

Oh, how I hate this mission. Grundy has that annoying gas cloud that will constantly damage you when you are in it. Not only that, but this fight is also timed. If the gas cloud covers the entire screen, then you lose. Use meter burns as the third star suggests, but good luck going for that second star.

Mission 186. Big Smash
“Sinestro is attempting to build a construct that can destroy Atlantis itself. Over the course of the fight, he will become more powerful.”
[ ] Defeat Sinestro
[ ] Connect 3 Meter Burn Special Moves and win
[ ] Win before Sinestro reaches his max difficulty

Sigh.

Mission 187. Lost Trident
“Doomsday has reached the Throne Room! When too much damage is taken, Aquaman will drop his trident. Pick it up by pressing RB.”

Getting hit by a Heavy Attack yourself will cause Aquaman to drop his trident. You then have to go and pick it up with RB to continue the fight.

Mission 188. Hot Spot
“Black Adam is trying to get to Atlantis himself. Defeat him while avoiding exploding floor fires conjured by Raven.”

Finally, a mission with Raven that isn’t incredibly obnoxious. Raven will just make fire appear on the ground, much like other missions wherein fire just randomly appears on the ground as a hazard. The game calls the fire an “explosion”, but at any rate, you’ll need to do just as the stars say in order to get them, and there’s not much strategy to offer beyond those words.

Mission 189. Jaws Of Life
“Press the correct corresponding buttons on-screen to telepathically tell the incoming rabid shark not to eat you.”
[ ] Talk the shark out of eating you
[ ] Win and let the shark get close
[ ] Don’t miss a button

Hit the buttons as they appear on the screen like a QTE. Let the shark get as close as possible if you are going for the second star. Figure out how close he has to get to kill you to figure out where you need to start pressing the buttons for a second round.

Mission 190. Olympian Champion
“Ares has recruited a group of villains to aid him. Defeat them one at a time, then take out Ares.”

You’ve probably noticed this, but most of Aquaman’s fights take place under water, which gives you a HUGE advantage as Aquaman. This fight is no different. Basically, there are three opponents that you have to fight in a row, but they all only have one bar of health. The first is Bane, then Doomsday, and then finally, you will have to fight Ares. This fight is stacked in your favor considerably since Doomsday and Bane are slow as it is without the added water effect thrown on top of it.

Grundy is a unique character in that you can just press B and then hit any face buttons to hit powerful grapple attacks.

Mission 193. Brute Strength

Mission 194. Hard Rain
“Defeat Superman while hazardous rain falls from the sky. Green raindrops replenish health while red raindrops deplete health.”

For the first time that you do this one, just don’t worry about the raindrops. You’ll psych yourself out if you worry about that. Instead, just focus on beating down Superman. In my experience, Superman will wind up killing himself more times than not by hitting the red raindrop.

Mission 195. Zombie Hands
“Joker wants Hawkgirl to stay hidden. Collecting orbs increases your Super Meter. Only while Joker is caught in Meter Burn Swamp Hands will Grundy cause damage.”
[ ] Defeat The Joker
[ ] Collect 25 falling orbs
[ ] Never reach max Super Meter

Grab the orbs to build up the Super Meter. You can only hurt The Joker when he is in the Swamp Hands (plus Meter Burn), so hitting him regularly will not build up your Super Meter. Get Joker in the Swamp Hands, and then attack him as much as possible until you can get him in the move again.

Mission 196. Avalanche
“Bane interrupts Grundy’s search for Hawkgirl by throwing obstacles in his path. Y for high rocks and A for low rocks.”

Unlike the previous gas-cloud missions with Grundy, Grundy isn’t the one where the gas is coming from. This time, the gas cloud is just filling up the screen. So, it’s basically just a regular fight with Bane, except the gas cloud is filling up the screen, so that means it has a time limit on it.

Mission 199. Toxic Overload
“Another of Hawkgirl’s captors blocks your way. Stand in the green light to regain health and receive a strength boost.”

[ ] Win with 30 or more seconds remaining

When in the green light, you health will be refilled and your attacks will do more damage. Otherwise, it’s just a regular battle.

Mission 200. Friends Forever

This is identical to the Nightwing missions where you move through the area and have to avoid the lasers, except Killer Frost uses her Ice Mist to reveal the lasers instead of night vision goggles. Otherwise, it’s the same.

“In preparation to create a new Ice Age, Killer Frost needs to sharpen her skills. Execute each move at the top of the screen.”

Mission 203. Screw Loose

Hitting Heavy Attacks will cause the background to crumble quicker. Because the background is falling apart, you need to defeat Wonder Woman as quickly as possible, but don’t hit too many Heavy Attack-based combos as they will just accelerate the crumbling of the background.

Mission 204. Life Drain
“Bats outside of Wayne Manor have infected you with vampiric poisoning! Each hit that lands will regain lost health during the fight.”
[ ] Defeat Nightwing

As you fight Nightwing, you will regain health for every time that you land a hit on the guy.

Mission 205. The Riddler’s Surprise
“Killer Frost searches Arkham for Mr. Freeze, her perfect sidekick. Defeat the guard while the Riddler drops surprises.”

This is a fight against one of those military guards, except with The Riddler in the background dropping Question Marks and such.

Mission 206. A Strong Defense
“Killer Frost needs Lex’s technology to bring on the next ice age. When Luthor’s shield activates damage will be reflected back at the attacker.”

Another typical fight with Lex. Hitting him while his shield is active will drain your health bar.

Mission 207. Hot And Cold
“Killer Frost is using the Watch Tower to freeze Earth, but something is wrong! She will lose health from heat, but will heal in the cold.”

[ ] Use only Heavy Attacks
[ ] Execute a Combo greater than 30%

When the screen is red, your health is drained dramatically. When you’re standing in the cold, your health will heal dramatically. The key is to avoid being hurt by your opponent as much as possible, which sounds silly, but with the heat and the cold dictating your health, taking damage elsewhere just isn’t acceptable.

Mission 208. Melting Point
“The room is rapidly heating up and will damage Killer Frost. Activate the switch to vent the heat to prevent a meltdown.”
[ ] Survive the heat
[ ] Take no heat damage
[ ] Win with a Super Move

Go press the button on the left side of the screen to stop the heat from building up every time it starts getting too hot for Killer Frost.

Mission 209. Fire And Ice
“Batman has upgraded his batarangs to stop Killer Frost. Defeat Batman while avoiding his heat batarangs.”

[ ] Survive 8 seconds without being hit
[ ] Win with a throw

Batman’s “heat” Batarangs will do more damage to Killer Frost than the regular ones, but Batman has to actually use them. Stay close to him and he typically won’t bust those out.

“The last fight caused so much damage that everything is crumbling down. Find the door, break it down to escape, and fulfill your icy destiny.”

The goal here is to avoid being hit by the rockets (obviously) long enough to win the mission.

Remember, when Lex’s purple shield is on, you CAN’T hit him, otherwise you will just do damage to yourself.

Mash on the buttons to destroy the meteors as they near Earth.

Jump up and throw the bots at the ground by pressing RB to regain your ability to fight. Without charging yourself, Black Adam will not be able to hit any moves or do anything involving lightning, including his Character Power.

“Use LS to move your energy shield to deflect Cyborg’s bouncing rockets. First to miss 3 rockets loses.”

“Ares has conjured a meteor storm while Black Adam attacks. Defeat him while avoiding the flaming rock.”

Flaming rocks fall from the sky while you fight against Black Adam. Avoid being hit by the rocks.

Complete all the moves on the list, but this time there’s an added gimmick to this match. This time not only do you have to worry about hitting all the moves, but Wonder Woman’s health will be drained the entire time, so you have to do it quickly as well as go through the list properly.

Mission 225. Sisters
“Press LT to have Wonder Woman aid in your fight for a short time. Wonder Woman may only be used once.”

In this mission, you play as one of Wonder  Woman’s Amazonian sisters instead of Wonder Woman herself. Her moveset is easy to learn, but the key difference is that she doesn’t have a Super Meter and cannot perform Super Moves. You can summon Wonder Woman for a short time, and Wonder Woman will appear with her Super Move. Of course, this means that this mission will, once again, require at least two playthroughs to get all of the stars, as you will have to use Wonder Woman’s Super Move to get one of the stars, and you will have to win without using Wonder Woman at all to get the other star.

Mission 226. Purified Rain
“An energy storm has rolled in. Each raindrop collected fills your Super Meter.”
[ ] Defeat Ares
[ ] Collect 25 raindrops
[ ] Hit 10 times to the head

The raindrops this time are not green and they are not red, but instead they will fill up your Super Meter. This means that Super Moves and Meter Burns will be MUCH more prevalent, but otherwise it’s just a regular battle. By the way, Wonder Woman’s Super Move has like three or so shots straight to the head, so you should have no problem getting that third star.

Mission 227. Catching A Thief
“Grundy has stolen an Amazonian gemstone for Ares. Execute the correct sequence of commands in time to stop him from getting away!”
[ ] Don’t let Grundy get away
[ ] Win without missing any button inputs
[ ] Pull Grundy in after he is almost free

Mash on the buttons to reel Grundy in. To allow Grundy to be “almost free”, it’s a good idea to actually let him escape once so you can gauge exactly how far he can get before you need to start the button mashing.

Mission 228. Who’s There?
“Ares is controlling Cyborg to put an end to the Amazonians. Defeat Cyborg while his cloaking device is active.”

[ ] Execute a Combo greater than 40%

Invisible Cyborg fight. You’ve done this already.

Mission 229. Inner Strength
“Superman will help you train for the fight ahead. Be the first to perform 100 hits.”

[ ] Don’t let your opponent reach 50 hits

Nail Superman 100 times to win this one.

Mission 230. Last Stand
“Ares has taken a final stand against Wonder Woman. He has summoned Grundy, Bane, and Doomsday to his side! Defeat them all, including Ares.

[ ] Survive 8 seconds without being hit

No one has their second Heath Bar, but you do have to fight Bane, Ares, Grundy, AND Doomsday, so that’s four people in a row. It’d be like fighting someone that has four Health Bars, so it can still be pretty tough.

Mission 232. A Rock and a Hard Place
“A group of Amazonians have launched a barrage of rocks at Ares. Slice incoming rocks by pressing Y for high swing, A for low swing.”

Mission 233. Battle Of Titans
“Superman must pay for his hand in banishing Ares to Hades. Defeat an enraged Superman.”

Superman is super-powered this entire fight, but he can still be beaten pretty easily thanks to Ares’s impressive moveset. Keep your thumb away from the Character Power button so you can get out of this one with all the stars.

Mission 234. Underwater Warfare
“Prove to Aquaman that even Earth’s seas belong to you. Defeat Aquaman while underwater.”

You’re underwater, so you’re slower, but otherwise it’s just a normal fight with Aquaman.

Mission 235. Rust Bucket
“Ares’s armor has rusted from his underwater battle with Aquaman. Tap any directional button to shake the rust off your armor.”

[ ] Connect 3 Meter Burn Special Moves and win
[ ] Break free 5 times

This one drives me nuts. It’s identical to the Joker mission earlier where Joker constantly gets frozen every few seconds, except this time it’s “rust”. Shake the analog stick to break free of the rust.

Mission 236. Cloak Of The Gods
“Ares desires to fool the Amazonians by sneaking into Themyscira. Stay invisible without getting hit until time runs out.”
[ ] Fool the Amazonian and sneak into Themyscira
[ ] Throw 6 times
[ ] Land an 8 Hit Combo

Perform the combo to make Ares invisible, and then avoid the Amazonian for 15 seconds to win this mission.

Mission 237. Spears Away
“Ares charges forward towards Themyscira, meeting a barrage of spears. Perform Ares’s teleport technique to evade then defeat Hawkgirl.”

[ ] Don’t get hit by a spear
[ ] Win with a Super Move

The trick to avoiding the spears is to wait for the spear to be in line with the statue of the goddess in the background. At that point, initiate the combo and you should be able to successfully avoid the attack. Being hit by spears won’t end the mission, but the more spears you get hit with, the less health Ares will have in the battle against Hawkgirl that immediately follows the spear-throwing.

Mission 238. Rain And Pour
“Defeat Flash while hazardous rain falls from the sky. Green raindrops replenish health while red raindrops deplete health.”

Another red and green raindrop mission, but this time against The Flash. Use the same strategy as before, largely ignoring the raindrops, especially so in this fight because none of the stars have anything to do with the raindrops and you should be able to get all three stars pretty damn easily here.

Mission 239. Lasso Tied
“Wonder Woman has entrapped Ares with her lasso. Tap X and B to break free.”
[ ] Keep Wonder Woman from escaping
[ ] Win after getting First Hit
[ ] Never reach max Super Meter

Mash on X and B to escape from the lasso, and then a regular fight with Wonder Woman follows.

Mission 240. Reign Supreme
“The time has come to conquer Themyscira! Defeat its guards and their champion Wonder Woman.”

[ ] Win a Clash
[ ] Win with full second Health Bar

Before fighting Wonder Woman, you go through a sequence where you are giant. Hit any face button to stomp your foot on the ground to get rid of the Amazonians. If they hit you with the swords, it will drain your health a bit for your fight against Wonder Woman that follows. Once all the Amazonians have been stomped away, Ares will return to normal size for the fight with Wonder Woman.
