Gameplay
Samurai vs. Zombies Defense 2 is a tower defense game where players must go through several waves of enemies. The mission for each wave is to not let the zombies reach your home base and destroy the sacred gate. Only by destroying the set number of enemies will the stage be cleared, so it is a matter of wisely knowing when to attack and retreat to retreat and regroup that will spell the difference between victory and defeat.
Currency
Like most mobile games, Samurai vs. Zombies Defense 2 uses two types of currencies. Gold coins are the basic ones, and can be used to purchase upgrades for your heroes and allies, among others. Gold can be collected by defeating enemies and can also be earned as bonuses during daily rewards and by completing tasks.
Gold bars, on the other hand, are used to unlock special content such as new characters as well as purchase premium items that will help you defeat the demonic armies faster and easier. Gold bars typically require real money to purchase.
Heroes
There are three types of heroes that can be used within the game. Initially, only one hero, the Samurai, can be used, with the remaining two being unlocked later on. Each character has differing statistics such as total health, health regeneration, attack, speed, and many more, so you can choose as to which hero suits your style best when all become available. However, it is important to note that some waves require a specific type of hero to be used, so it would also be wise to upgrade them evenly all around.
There is also a fourth hero that can be played at, although this would require premium currency to unlock.
Skills
Each hero has special types of skills that can be triggered during battle. Some skills are specific to each character while some are shared by all characters. Each skill has a cooldown period before they can be activated again, so knowing when to use them is very essential especially when you are outnumbered and outgunned by the enemy.
Upgrades
Heroes can be upgraded so that they can become more formidable in battle. Stats such as health and damage may be improved using coins, and the gate’s durability may also be increased. In addition, you can also place additional reinforcements on your home bases so that it would be better defended even if you are not in the area. Lastly, skills can be upgraded so that they can inflict more damage.
Allies
Allies are additional help that you can call upon in order to defeat the undead enemies. Each has varying skills and specialties, and each carry with them leadership costs. Like heroes, allies can be upgraded in order to be more efficient in battle, and knowing which allies to bring, as each hero only has a specific number of ally slots, will spell the difference between victory and defeat.
Leadership
Calling upon heroes cost leadership points, which serve as mana. This regenerates over time, and can also be replenished using items. Also, having your leadership gauge reach its upgrade level will allow your leadership to regenerate faster and have a larger capacity, which means you can call on more allies faster, for as long as you are willing to save up on this resource initially.
Charms
Charms are special types of items that may be equipped during battle. These serve as boosts and would have to be consumed, and their benefits range from dealing better damage, taking less damage, having a powerful ally help you out, generate more coins, and many more. Charms may be purchased and can also be acquired via drops.
Souls
Souls are collected alongside coins when defeating enemies. Souls are kept in a soul jar, and are used up when trying to complete collections that will provide you with stronger items. Each item in the collection will require players to spend a certain amount of souls, so players must play the story mode in order to accumulate the required amount. Players may also wait until the soul meter is replenished over time, and they can also purchase upgrades in order to increase the soul jar’s capacity.
PvP
Samurai vs. Zombies Defense 2 also has a Player vs. Player function where players can face off against each other. This is for the purpose of acquiring items for their collection. Players will have a set amount of time to battle, and the one who is able to destroy the sacred gate of their opponents will be declared the winner. Battles require Souls to take place, and you must spend souls if your soul jar is full so that these would not be wasted.
