Man of Steel Walkthrough [Guide]

With Man of Steel smashing its way through the box office as of late, it does not come as a surprise that it has a video game tie-in. Man of Steel, the game, is a one on one fighting game that is a must have for any Superman enthusiast, or for those that likes their beat ‘em ups. Play as the Ultimate Boy Scout as he battles General Zod and his army in order to save the Earth from destruction.

Gameplay
Man of Steel lets players take control of Superman as he battles against several enemies in one on one fighting action. There are two modes to choose from, namely Story and Survival Mode, with the main difference being Survival Mode will require players to battle enemies in succession without regaining his health while Story Mode will give you a fresh health bar, with a plot moving forward with each victory. There are also powerups and upgrades that can be unlocked and purchased using keys and experience earned during battle.

Controls
Controls during combat are very easy. Players can swipe left and right in order to perform combos, and they can perform attacks such as punching or flying enemies through buildings, vehicles, and other objects once they have been stunned. Blocking is done by tapping and holding onto the screen, although doing this just before impact will cause the opponent to be vulnerable to attack. There are also left and right dodge buttons that players can use to avoid attacks without getting damage. Lastly, players can grapple with enemies and vice versa, and players must tap continuously at the enemy’s hands in order to win the battle and gain the advantage.

Experience
Experience, or XP, are points awarded when defeating enemies or doing certain actions in battle. Unlike other games, XP will not cause Superman to level up. Rather, this can be used as currency in order to upgrade Superman’s abilities to make him stronger in battle. XP can also be used to buyout keys, which are discussed in the section below. Additional XP may also be acquired via in-app purchases for those who do not want to grind for it.

XP can also be used to unlock special abilities such as heat vision and super speed, which will definitely be able to turn the tide in your favor against tougher enemies.

Keys
Keys can be acquired by completing quests like defeating a certain amount of enemies or knocking them through a specific number of objects. Keys serve as a kind of premium currency, and can be really difficult to acquire. Keys can be exchanged in exchange for perks such as damage resistance and double health, and these are very important in Survival Mode where you need all the advantage that you can get.

Special Abilities
Special abilities may also be triggered, that will allow Superman to perform highly damaging attacks on enemies. Special abilities can be triggered once the meter on the left side of the screen has been filled. Using these abilities in a timely fashion is essential in saving you from powerful enemies, or if you are low on health and would have to deal a killing blow before the enemy strikes first.

Tips and Tricks
Timing is extremely essential in order to find success in Man of Steel. This is with regards to both offense and defense. Use dodges and parries as compared to just blocking, as this will definitely give you an edge offense wise. Do not forget to use your special abilities when the meter has been filled up, but know when to hold back as you might waste it, especially when his health is already low and you can just as easily dispatch him or her with a few blows.

Lastly, always spend your XP and keys once you earn them. This will allow Superman to become much stronger and will allow you to last longer in Survival Mode. Allocating XP and keys is completely arbitrary, although you must d upgrades according to your playing strengths and personal strategy and not just do it randomly.
