Flo is back to serve you in this much loved time management game. In Diner Dash Rush, players can expect the same excitement as before, with an endless tide of customers are waiting to be served, and it is up to you to ensure that their experience in your diner is one that is pleasurable. Show them punctual service and you will be rewarded. Make them wait, however, and you will feel their wrath. Do you have what it takes to make your diner the best one there is? Play Diner Dash Rush and let this guide help you through some of the basics of the game.
Gameplay
Diner Dash Rush is a time management game where players must control Flo and go through the motions of serving customers that constantly enter through the diner’s doors. Players must be seated to their tables, have their orders taken, get their meal served, and have their payments collected within the shortest amount of time possible, as disgruntled customers will leave, costing you points as well as coins. Of course, cleaning up after customers is necessary in order for the next batch of diners to be seated.
To help you along the way, players may use boosts that will give them the extra advantage in serving customers. The usage of boosts will require coins that are earned throughout the game. There are also items that can help prolong the customers’ patience, which is signified by hearts over their heads.
Stations
One of the most endearing qualities of the game, and one of the elements that further adds to the challenge, is that Flo must physically be at a certain location in order to perform some actions. Some of the main stations include:
- The queue where customers are waiting to be seated. Players can give them menus while a table is not yet cleared so that they will not get impatient.
- Empty tables where players must first click on customers, and then on the table where you want them to be seated. Once seated, you can click on the table to take their orders, serve their food, give them the bill, clean the table for the next batch of customers, or serve them coffee.
- The ticket carousel where orders would have to be taken so that the meals can be prepared
- The serving trays where you can get orders per table
- The washtub where dirty dishes would have to be taken
- The coffee machine where players can get coffee
- The reception area where you can get menus that can be given to customers waiting in cues.
It is also important to note that Flo can only carry up to two items at a time, such as two tickets, a set of dirty dishes and an uneaten dish, a cup of coffee and a menu, and other combinations, although there is a powerup that will allow Flo to carry up to four items at a time.
Coins
Coins are an integral part of Diner Dash Rush, as they will give you some great benefits especially if you find a particular stage difficult to complete. Coins are earned depending on how high your scores are, and you can also buy extra coins using real life currency. Coins can be used to purchase boosts and Mega-Boosts which you can use in a level.
Boosts
As mentioned, Boosts and Mega-Boosts can be used in order to help you in a stage. Coins are required to purchase these items. The difference between Boosts and Mega-Boosts is that a Boost is active all throughout a level while a Mega-Boost must be triggered. Boosts include the ability to carry up to four items at the same time and increased speed, which an example of a Mega-Boost is the ability to clear all customers currently present in the area.
Happy Hour
Once players are able to reach the target score for the round and the timer runs out, then Happy Hour would be triggered. Once Happy Hour is in effect, customers will no longer get impatient, and players will have the chance to get a lot of bonus points for a limited time. It is recommended that players go all out during this event so that they will be able to get more points and, consequently, more coins.
How to Score More Points
Take note that the customers’ clothes are color coordinated. Seating them in a table of the same color will give players bonus points. Also, performing the same action consecutively will also earn players extra, such as getting orders for all four tables, or clearing all tables at once.
In addition, make sure that you maximize seating by not providing four seat tables to customers in groups of two, that is unless you are absolutely sure that there are no other customers coming in, or if the timer is running out. Lastly, make sure that customers do not leave by keeping a close eye on the hearts above their heads. Once all hearts fade, they will leave, so you must give them coffee or have them look at the menu in order to keep them satisfied for longer periods.
Lastly, it is recommended that you get at least one boost before you play a stage. The ability to carry up to four items at once is recommended. The coins that you would get would usually be more than what you spent, although buying more than one boost would lower that chance. Also, try to use Mega-Boosts to a minimum as these are pretty expensive to purchase.
