Steam Clan Walkthrough [Guide]

There’s always this pleasure playing online strategy-based games. It’s fun, witty and full of challenges. Steam Clan is a new Android app where you control your own “tribe”. The game is set in modern times which includes fire power, missiles and ton of explosives. Be the best in this game by defeating other tribes (controlled by real players), collecting achievements and defending your very own domain.

Gameplay
Mastering this game is quite simple. Players train and deploy an army to attack other players. Through proper execution of deploying soldiers, you get to wipe out an entire tribe while looting resources. You also get to defend your tribe from attacks by different players. Deploying towers, power grids(barricade), and mines are an easy task but placing them strategically can be tough. If you place it correctly, you can fend off an attack. But if not, the army of the attacker can eat you alive. You will create a tribe from scratch. As you progress, there will have more option of structures, and all of which are upgradable.

Buildings
There are 3 categories in structure building namely resource, army and defense. The resources help you gather precious minerals for upgrades and troop creation. More resource doesn’t entirely mean faster development. You also rely on the number of workers you have. Building/upgrading any structure takes time specially if it’s on high level.

Resources:

• Crystal Mine

-Production of crystals. Upgrading help increase the output and capacity.

• Oil Well

-Production of oil. Upgrading help increase the output and capacity.

• Crystal Depot

-Storage of looted and mined crystals.

• Oil Depot

-Storage of looted and mine oil.

• Workshop

-A workshop has 1 worker. Workers build and help in upgrading structures.

Army:

• Barrack

-Production of troops.

• Civilian House

-Residence of civilians.

• Research Base

-Helps in troop upgrades.

Defense:

• Power Grid

-Acts like a barricade. Helps in preventing attackers from entering the tribe. Buys time for your towers to attack while the enemy is busy destroying the power grid first.

• Machine Cannon

-Hits one enemy at a time with rapid speed. Great for ground defense.

• Missile Tower

-Hits one enemy at a time with high damage. Great for both ground and air defense.

• Hellfire

-Can cause high damage to multiple enemies within a bunch. Good for ground defense.

• Anti-air Canon

-Can cause high damage to air attackers. Great for air defense.

• Lightning Tower

-Can cause chain damage to a bunch of enemies. For both ground and air attackers.

• Anti-air Missile

-Launches a series of missiles to air attackers.

• Laser Tower

-Devastating damage to one enemy at a time. Great for both ground and air defense.

• Landmine

-Stepping landmines cause damage to enemies.

• Silent trap

-Knocks enemy unconscious like stunning them.

Others:

• Clan Tower

-Let’s you create or join a clan. Also useful in defense.

• Train

-A train to Treasure Valley, which was abandoned by explorers long ago.

Currency

• Crystals

-Mainly used for training troops in the barracks. Crystals are also used in research to enhance levels of troops in the Research Base.

-Mainly used for building and upgrading structures.

-Involves real money. Purchasing gems give all benefits possible.

Upgrade
Steam Clan has an upgrade system. Structures are upgraded to enhance its use. While troops can be researched for maximum fire power and damage. Upgrading the structures and researching on troops takes time, but will certainly be of great value in the future. Defense towers can also be upgraded, changing its appearance while widening the area of effect on its attack. I’m surprised that the power grids are also upgradable. This gives the barricade greater Health Points as you do so.

*NOTE*
Upgrading a structure gives complete halt to its activity. Its work will resume after the upgrade finishes. Civilian houses is a focal point in the upgrade system because it provides larger capacity in your troop count. The higher the civilian house’s level, the bigger the troop count you have.

Single Player & Multiplayer Mode
Yes, you can play on both ends. Single player has 150 challenging missions. Each mission gets tougher. The security gets tighter and even the boldest warriors you have might get swept away if you don’t deploy them strategically. This serves as a training ground so I suggest you complete all of it before entering a match. Aside from that, you can also loot resources while you’re at it. It helps you familiarize the game and also strategically use the abilities of different soldiers you have in the barracks.

In multiplayer mode, you scout and attack other player’s tribe. But in order to do so, you must end the “protection mode” and pay the necessary oil needed. If you successfully win the match, you will receive resources and a trophy. The more trophy you have, the dominant you are. To start attacking players, click the “Find Match” button and pay the amount of oil needed.

Tips
Most online strategy-based games rely on how active you are. The more active you get, the faster the progress of your game and Steam Clan is no different. You will have to wait for numerous hours for every upgrade you make and that’s the boring part. But once you get the hang of it and survive, you’ll be satisfied knowing you have gone such long way.

You must prioritize your resources. Create many crystal and oil miner buildings until it is on its limit. This will give you enough resources for more upgrades of different buildings like the towers. Don’t go on attacking just yet because you will lose troops and resources too.

Lastly, there’s a reason why this is called a strategy-based game. Rightfully deploying your structures will give you an advantage in fending off attackers. You can make a maze-like power grid structure, strengthen your core defense, it depends on you. Edit your tribe’s architecture that will suit your liking. Another thing, scatter your troops when attacking because some towers blast area ground attacks. This is really hurtful if your troops are sticking to each other. You can’t control your troops once deployed, they will have to attack by instinct, whether they have a favorite target or some building come in their way.
