Before the actual game begins, you will have to put your thumb on the scanner
to boot everything up. The game will then get you up to speed on the backstory
of the Killzone franchise and what exactly is going on in the world of
Killzone: Mercenary.

===============
JUSTICE FOR ALL
===============
Open the door by approaching it and pressing Triangle. Then on the other side
of the door will be a Helghast. Either tap the melee icon that appears on the
screen or press Triangle to initiate a melee attack. Then swipe the screen in
the direction of the arrow that appears on the soldier to finish them off.

Quickly get behind cover by pressing O. A few soldiers will storm the room.
This is a very good time to learn the basics of shooting in the game, which is
actually what this room is intended for anyways. Use L to aim down the sights
and use R to freely shoot. Arran will automatically peak above or around cover
and in the direction of the nearby enemies when you are behind cover.

Headshots are obviously ideal. They will kill the enemies much, much faster.
Use the radar on the bottom lefthand corner of the screen to your advantage.
The red arrows that appear represent the enemies as they swarm into the room.
This will let you know what direction they’re coming from at all times.

When the first batch of them are dead, follow your partner to the pole on the
wall. Climb up the pole and then at the top you can use the Arms Dealer box if
you want to. However, it is very unlikely at this point in the game that you
will even have enough funds to do anything except for replenish your ammo,
which you probably don’t need to do either, especially if you snagged some ammo
off the dead Helghast in the room below.

A dropship of enemy Helghast will come into the area. Get behind cover in the
designated area, then take them all out. It is better if you can kill them
while they are descending their ropes because that will rob them of the
opportunity to even have a chance to aim their weapons at you.

When they’re dead, follow your partner again to the next area. This will lead
to the two of you soaring across the city. Using the right analog stick, you
are able to look around at your leisure, but there is no direct control
involved with this sequence of events.

Upon landing, there is an Officer in the next room. Get up behind him and press
Triangle to interrogate him. Alternatively, you can just kill him and continue
the level. Follow your partner’s instructions by looking into the next room to
make note of the Helghast soldier in the lab and the one that is manning the
turret. Then follow your partner to the next hall where he will point two out
soldiers. Take the first shot and then your partner will kill the other soldier
as well, allowing the two of you to continue.

Be aware of the cameras on the walls in these areas. To get rid of them without
drawing a lot of attention, equip the silenced pistol by pressing “right” on
the d-pad and then shooting them off the walls. Cameras are easy to spot
because they have blue laser lights coming out of them.

Flank the turret and kill the Helghast around here. Then go to the door of the
security room and place a bomb on the doors. To arm a bomb, pick either
clockwise or counter-clockwise to swipe on the touchscreen, then swipe in the
opposite direction. Get to a safe distance and press R to detonate the bomb.

This will attract a lot of attention and a few waves of enemies will attack.
This is a tough battle, but I recommend taking cover behind the counter. The
turret is tempting, but the Helghast are very likely to attack you from behind
if you attempt to use the turret against them.

From behind the counter, kill all the Helghast as they show up. They will
charge from both sides of the counter, but if you are fast enough, you should
be able to pick them off without too much trouble. When they’re all dead, let’s
take note of some other icons on the radar.

The radar displays a few areas of importance. It represents the location of
your partner, which is the green arrow, as well as enemies, which are
represented by red arrows. The blue diamond on the map marks the location of
your next objective.

Yellow smiley faces are Arms Dealer boxes that can be used to purchase new
gear, weapons, and replenish ammo. White arrows on the radar indiciate the
location of friendly NPCs. Right now there should be two on your radar. These
are ISA prisoners taken captive by the Helghast. If you’d like to free them,
go behind them and press Triangle or tap the icon on the touchscreen that will
appear over their bindings.

When you are ready to leave this building, head over to the broken window and
rappel down to the next room. In this room will be orange arrows, which are
enemies that are unaware of your presence. Use the red explosive barrels to
kill the enemies as they are in clusters right now. Take out the camera as
well to prevent even more reinforcements from showing up when you go for the
door, but there will be plenty of opposition regardless.

Stick behind cover and you’ll do fine. When they’re all dead, go to the door
and go through. Now just move from room to room and clear out the rest of the
Helghast until you reach a door that needs to be hacked. The hacking mini-game
is rather simple, especially when you realize what it wants you to do.

There will be a symbol in the center of the screen that is comprised of various
triangles. The goal of the hacking mini-game is to choose the symbols on the
left and right sides of the screen that have triangles in the same spots as the
one in the center. The catch is that the triangles cannot overlap and you have
to choose two of them from the sides of the screen. So pick out two different
possible combinations that could, if overlapped, perfectly imitate the symbol
in the center. This should get the door opened.

As you continue fighting, you’ll reach an open area with turrets all around.
This area is tough, but not impossible. Get behind cover and wait for your
partner to draw their fire. This will cause them to turn their armored turrets,
leaving the Helghast wide open for a couple of shots to the head or whatever
needs to be done to put them down. ISA soldiers will show up at this point to
help out as well.

Now continue to the location of the admiral. Upon arriving, interact with the
button on the door to the interrogation room where the admiral is being held.
When the meter at the top of the screen is full, move into the room. Then exit
to the outside area. Clear the place of Helghast. You may want to use the
turrets here, but be warned that the Helghast will probably throw grenades at
you. If a grenade is in killing range of you, you will be warned of this by a
yellow “grenade danger” indicator in the direction of the grenade ala Call of
Duty.

Eventually, a Helghast tank will roll into the area. At this point, you
DEFINITELY want to on a turret. Use the turret to kill the Helghast on top of
the tank and then get off the turret. Helghast will constantly spawn and hop
over the cliffside on either side of the tank. Kill them as you get up near
the sides of the tank. Place an explosive on both sides and then flee to a safe
distance and detonate the explosives. Kill any stragglers to finish the
mission.

==================
CODE OF ENGAGEMENT
==================
Get off the boat. Kill the first enemy you come across, and try to stay silent
for now to get a stealth bonus at the next checkpoint. That is good advice for
the entire game really; be stealthy if you can for the bonus points. Sometimes
it is nigh impossible to avoid a firefight though, like with the section coming
up right after this one.

A new enemy type will be introduced in the form of the snipers. They are hooded
Helghast. Despite their titles, they honestly aren’t very good shots. Get in
too close to them and they will whip out handguns. At any rate, kill all of the
snipers that are across the street in the dilapidated building. Then get over
to that building and clear out any remaining enemies.

This building will lead to a courtyard area that can be stealthed through
pretty easily. Upon entering, none of the enemies will be aware of your
presence, even if you raised hell taking out all of the snipers and such. At
any rate, you can easily pick off these Helghast one by one just by waiting for
them to have their backs turned then rushing up and knifing them.

Wait for your partner to show up and then follow him over to the wing of the
ship. Take the zipline down and then simply sneak your way inside. If you are
caught, use the explosive barrels to your advantage and stay behind cover as
your partner will protect you with sniper fire.

Inside of the ship, there will be an enemy and an Officer to deal with
immediately. Take them out and then continue to the room with the intel. Kill
the Helghast in here. Try to avoid killing the scientists as they are just
civilians and killing them counts as “collateral”, which means you will lose
some of your spending credits.

Hack the terminal and then get behind cover at the far end of the room. Kill
all of the Helghast that show up. If you stay behind cover, it’s easy to just
melee them as they try to charge you around the corner. Eventually your partner
Ivanov will show up to help you kill the rest. Wait for the meter at the top of
the screen to fill up. Then exit the room with Ivanov and follow him to the
elevator.

Now in this room, if you have the stealth drone I recommend using it to kill
all of the enemies without even having to so much as lift up a foot. If not,
you can clear out the room in any manner that you see fit. There is plenty of
cover to be had here, but killing all of the enemies in this room is made even
easier if you manage to get to higher ground.

Anyway, when all the enemies are dead, pick one of the two shield terminals and
hack it. This will prompt more enemies to spawn. Get rid of them and then make
your way to the second terminal. Hack this one, then kill all of the enemies
that show up. Ivanov will get trapped!

There is nothing that can be done for him, unfortunately. Follow the objective
markers to be led right out of the ship and outside. Kill the two enemies that
are immediately outside the door here and then sprint to the end of the walkway
and to the railing and the safety of the ocean.

================
LIGHTNING STRIKE
================
If you haven’t already, I HIGHLY recommend purchasing the Mantis stealth drone
that I mentioned in the previous mission. It makes one section of this mission
a whole hell of a lot easier. But anyway, this one starts off with an easy
enemy that can be killed silently, so take him out from behind. Pull the
switch in the control him that he was patroling using the touchscreen to swipe
down on the lever.

The next area is one that is controlled by a few snipers and patroling guards.
This is where the stealth drone comes in handy. Yes, you can just go in guns
blazing or attempt other stealthy methods, but this using the Mantis is quick,
easy, and it gets the job done.

With the Mantis, you can just fly around to all of the different enemies and
spike their heads for instant, silent kills. Use the right stick in the Mantis
to control altitude and use the left stick to move it around. When all of the
enemies here are dead, you are free to continue into the next area, where the
bulk of the rest of the mission takes place.

The overall goal of this mission is to gain control of the Helghast cannons
that deliver devastating “Lightning Strikes” and turn it on their own forces.
The first thing that needs to be done is to hack the terminals that control
one of the guns, and that’s what this place is.

In the center of this area is a small building that houses the direct controls
of the gun. On either side are the terminals that allow it to fire. You need to
get inside both of these buildings, kill everyone, and then hack both of them.

This is easier said than done. Both buildings are protected by turrets and are
crawling with enemies. If you have the Mantis, then you can simply use it to
kill both turret guys, which makes the other enemies easy pickings. If not, I
recommend rushing UNDER the turrets so they can’t shoot you, then flanking
them from behind to take them out. Make sure everyone is dead before starting
the hack, because the hack is just going to attract even more enemies.

To start the hack, go to the upper floor of the terminal buildings and use the
levers to ride a small lift down to the terminals to be hacked. Begin the
hack and then hold your ground and defend your position from the invading
forces. When the first hack is complete, repeat the process with the second
terminal that needs hacked.

After both terminals have been hacked, you have to defend the generator in the
center of the outside area. Danner is rewarded with a Porcupine Missile weapon
which is extremely helpful in all situations and especially this part of the
game.

Equip it and then as the enemies start coming to attack the generator, you
can easily fire missiles at them just by touching them on the touchscreen when
a red circle is around their bodies. Stand in front of the generator while
doing this so that you can ensure that no Helghast enemies manage to plant any
bombs on it. Even if they do manage to plant the bomb, you can still kill them
before they are able to detonate it at least.

When the generator has been successfully saved, run to the control room (the
center building) and press the button. Now I recommend grabbing a sniper rifle
from the Arms Dealer box that sits right outside of the center building. The
sniper rifle makes it much easier to kill the drones that are about to attack
you…

Assuming you take my advice and do use the sniper rifle, climb up the ladder
attached to the center building, then run over to the next ladder. Stay at the
base of this ladder and use it as cover as you pick off all the drones that are
a part of the first wave. To zoom in and out with the sniper, slide your finger
up and down on the rear touchpad on the Vita.

Then climb the second ladder to the top. Kill the Helghast soldier that is at
the bottom of the zipline, then ride the zipline down. Before hopping down into
the landing pad, hang tight and get rid of all the other drones that swarm in
and start shooting at you. The reason I recommend a sniper rifle for dealing
with the drones is because the snipers will kill them with a single shot, and
that is extremely helpful when they are all constantly shooting at you all of
the time.

Blowing up all the drones will allow the evac to arrive. Hop on the landing pad
to be extracted to safety.

===================
DIPLOMATIC INCIDENT
===================
After being dropped off, climb the ladder and silently kill the first enemy
you see. Stalk all the other enemies and take them out as quietly as possible.
Then head to the building. Go up the stairs and kill all the enemies in here.
Their death will cause their commanding officer, a Helghast enemy that is
equipped with a flamethrower, to open the doors if you haven’t already hacked
your way through them.

When dealing with the flamethrower Helghast, the best thing to do is to shoot
the tanks on their backs. This will cause them to explode. Of course, you do
not want to be close to them when that happens. Now that you’ve encountered
the first Helghast of this type, you’ll start seeing a lot more of these guys
around.

Fight your way to the library and then fight your way out of the library to
the balconies. Sprint along the balconies until you reach the room with Boris
and Justus. Kill any nearby Helghast soldiers and then wait for Boris to kick
down the door. Now follow Boris out of the door.

Stay behind Boris as he mows down most of the enemies. A rocket-equipped
enemy will pop up on the far balcony. These are the only enemies that pose a
real threat to Boris, though all of the enemies, of course, will be able to do
fairly significant damage to Denner.

Still, make the rocket troopers the priority. If Boris takes damage, he still
stop walking and that just stretches this ordeal out. After the first couple of
rocket troopers are killed, two more will pop up to the left. Kill them as
well and continue to follow Boris.

Watch out for the balconies above because they will have rocket troopers as
well as plenty of regular enemies that will just constantly respawn here. Keep
fighting them until you reach the other side, then shoot the Helghast that
have now stationed where you guys started out.

Keep following them until all the enemies are dead. Then the three of you will
hit a dead-end. But this is only a temporary problem. Once they’ve figured it
out, remove the ventilation grate so Justus can crawl through and open the
door from the other side. Then follow Boris and Justus into the courtyard.

More rocket troopers will line the roof of this place. Kill them (it will be
some long distance shooting, that’s for sure), and continue to push forward
with Boris and Justus. Then when everyone is dead, the three of you will be
able to examine the elevator.

Justus will manage to get the elevator open, but then more Helghast show up.
Listen to Boris and just get in the elevator with the kid. Pull the lever
inside of the elevator to ride it down to the getaway boat.

===========
THE PACKAGE
===========
The first area is perfect for stealth. I highly recommend using the Mantis
drone as always, though these enemies are spread far enough apart that it is
just as easy to get up behind them and take them out with silent melee attacks
or well-placed headshots with other silenced weapons.

When these enemies are dead, proceed to the next area. Justus will refuse to go
across until the area is made safe. Use the drone or a long-ranged weapon to
pick out the enemies. Then run down to the door with Justus. The door will be
locked.

To the right of the door is a small rock walkway of sorts that you can use to
get around to the side of the building. On the side of the building is a pole.
Climb the pole to the roof to get inside the building, then press the button
next to the door to let Justus inside.

Follow Justus to the next area. He will lower the bridge. Go across and kill
all the enemies. Justus will have to open the next door for you. As soon as he
opens it, kill the two enemies on the other side. He will then lead you through
a bar and to Savic.

Speak with Savic and then go to the shutter. Press Triangle to help him lift
it open. Then hold position somewhere in the bar, preferrably at the counter
right next to the door you just helped Savic open. Equip grenades and wait
for the enemies to pour in from the opposite side of the room. As soon as those
shutters open, toss a couple of frag grenades their way.

Among the enemies will be a new “Heavy” enemy type. They look just like Boris
did in the previous mission. When damage is dealt to these guys, they will
turn their back to you, exposing their fuel tanks which can then in turn be
damaged in order to cause an explosion and kill them. Aim for their head to
make them turn around faster.

After killing these enemies, more will come in from the ceiling. Just hold
your ground and continue to kill them. A flying vehicle with Helghast on it
will fly into view, but just run and leave it. Equip a shotgun or something so
that you can sprint through the next few objective markers and just quickly
blow away the enemies as you see them.

Upon arriving at the evac location, take cover by the Arms Dealer box.
Replenish your ammo and be ready. A huge amount of Helghast soldiers will start
to storm your position. Save the red barrels on either side of them so that
you can blow up the larger groups in a bit. Keep fighting them until Benoit
arrives to save the day. Then when Benoit lowers the altitude of his ship,
jump over to him.

==========
LIGHTS OUT
==========
This mission begins with Danner at the hands of a turret. Use the turret to
blow up all the Helghan aircraft. Focus on killing the two Helghast soldiers
that are actually on the aircraft before worrying about blowing up the ships
themselves, as the ships will not even have a way to do damage to you when
their soldiers are dead. Blowing up the aircraft is still worth it, though,
for the credits.

When Danner is dropped off, silently kill the first batch of enemies and
work your way into the refinery. Inside the refinery is the first primary
objective of this mission. The goal is to blow up two pipes on either side of
the area.

Use the Mantis drone to take out every enemy. There will be two Helghast
equipped with flamethrowers directly guarding either pipe, but the drone will
have no problem taking them out as well, especially since they face the pipe
the entire time.

If you do not have the drone for whatever silly reason, you can go the old
fashioned route of running and gunning, or you can try to be stealthy by using
the vents to sneak around. At any rate, plant the first bomb, get to a safe
distance, then blow it up. This will cause more Helghast soldiers to storm the
area, but quickly plant and blow up the second pipe as well before fighting
them off.

Leave this area using the elevator. When the elevator doors open up, you will
be tasked now with disabling the anti-aircraft guns. First thing you’ll want
to do is kill everyone in the initial area, which consists of three enemies
total. A regular soldier, an Officer, and a flamethrower-equipped Helghast.

The Officer and the soldier can be killed very easily, either with silenced
headshots or just running up and killing them with silent melee attacks. When
they’ve been dealt with, stay in the area where the Officer was standing, but
stay behind cover and watch the flamethrower guy move. When he gives you an
opening, rush up behind him and kill him with a melee attack from behind for a
lot of points.

The reason I don’t recommend using the Mantis drone for this part is simple:
you can’t! There is a jammer in the area that not only makes your radar useless
but it also makes it so you can’t use special gadgets like the Mantis. Bummer.

Anyway, blow up the first gun and then hold position. Find some nice cover and
kill all the enemies that show up, which will also include a couple of drones.
When they’re all dead, use the objective markers (remember:  “up” on the
d-pad) to reach the second gun. Kill any enemies that get in your way, and
then disable that gun with explosives as well.

Enemies will show up all over the place now. Sprint by them and rush to the
ladder to the roof. Kill the two enemies up here and wait for Benoit to land.
Get on the aircraft with Benoit until he drops you off at the next location.

In this area, go to either of the three objective markers and press the button.
This will make a fuel rod rise out of the ground. The fuel rod will be
comprised of three blue rods on the three different sides of it. Destroy all
three of these blue rods by shooting them to destroy the first fueld rod.
While attempting to do this, a ton of enemies will show up, including one dude
with a flamethrower, so it is best to stay behind cover and kill them all
before worrying about the fuel rods.

Now go to the second fuel rod. Bringing this one up will cause some drones to
show up. Ignore them and just quickly destroy the blue rods powering the
device. This will create an EMP blast that will automatically kill all of the
drones.

Bringing up the third fuel rod will cause a combination of drones and Helghast
soldiers to swarm in on your position. Quickly destroy it so that the drones
are a non-factor, then kill the remaining Helghast. A short scene will play,
and then after an explosion, a new walkway will be made for you. This part is
timed, so be quick.

Climb up the “bridge”, then climb the ladder. Rush to the next door and place a
hacker. Stand by the hacker until the meter at the top of the screen fills up
and the door opens. Approach the Helghast ship and wait for them to pull you
aboard.

================
HOSTILE TAKEOVER
================
The transition may be a bit jarring to get used to, but now you are on the
Helghast side fighting against the ISA. Kill the ISA soldiers in this initial
area. When they’re all dead, make your way to the building. Be careful of the
mines that are everywhere, though.

The mines are usually attached to walls. They have a red light on them and
beep faster as you get closer to them. Being too close to an exploding mine
will result in dying, and they are absolutely EVERYWHERE in this level, so
watch out. To get rid of them, just shoot them. Before going anywhere in this
level, it’s a good idea to scope out all directions and shoot at any mines that
you see. Another good thing to do to avoid frustration is to use ever Arms
Dealer box in the level because this will create another checkpoint for you.

Anyway, through the building you’ll find a hole in the floor. Dropped down to
be introduced to a new type of sniper, the invisible variety. Melee kill the
first one, and then drop down to the courtyard.

There are mines here as well as about four invisible snipers. The way you can
look for invisible snipers is to follow the blue laser lights they have
attached to their rifles. They are invisible, but the outline of their bodies
can definitely be seen. Kill them from a distance and blow up any mines as
you proceed.

In the subsequent building, there will be a TON more mines. Blow all of them
up before saving the captured Helghast. Jump down to the floor below and
continue to the elevator where you will see Justus being taken away. Go
through the door down here and fight your way to Savic. Open the door and
kill his interrogaters. Untie him.

Return to the previous room and get on the turret. Kill the ISA soldiers that
storm in. When they’re dead, start pushing down the stairs and kill the rest.
Get back outside to the courtyard and immediately use the Arms Dealer box.
You will want to have a rocket launcher for this.

Use the rocket launcher on the ISA exoskeleton that shows up and also kill any
of the ISA soldiers that are helping it out. It takes about three to four
rockets to destroy an exeskeleton, depending on the type of rocket launcher
you are using.

In the next area, you get a free Carapce vanguard that is basically a shield
for the front of your body. Grab it and then fight your way across to the
bridge controls. When everyone is dead, start to lower the bridge. Get behind
cover by the Arms Dealer box and replenish your ammo. Then activate the
carapace and get on the turret.

The turret will not destroy the exoskeletons that show up. Or at least, it is
not likely to. Instead, use it mainly for killing the ISA soldiers and to
weaken the exterior of the exoskeleton so that it is more easily destroyed
using the rockets.

When the exoskeleton has been sufficiently damaged, blow it up with rockets.
Repeat this for the rest of the ISA soldiers and exoskeleton mechs that show
up until the bridge is lowered. Then SPRINT to the exit. Press Triangle at the
car door that is in the way to escape.

===========
BLOOD MONEY
===========
Unlike most missions, this one is basically just a run and gun affair. I
recommend equipping yourself with armor that really beefs up your health and
using heavy weaponry such as shotguns instead of the usual stuff. The very
first part of this mission requires you to kill a bunch of ISA soldiers that
are in a “trench” of sorts while pushing your way through the next door, but
be sure to kill the ISA rocket trooper on the balcony above first.

Murder every ISA soldier in your way as you fight through the building. You
can choose to do this stealthily or run and gun it; it doesn’t matter. Just
keep fighting and moving forward until you reach the vault. Kill the soldiers
around the vault then enter it yourself. Retrieve the virus through hacking,
then place bombs at the designated areas. Hang tight.

Admiral Grey and a few soldiers will enter the area. Sprint up the stairs and
then seek the higher ground. Get behind cover and pop out of cover to kill all
of the Helghast soldiers that are surrounding Admiral Grey. When they’re all
dead, rush Grey and press Triangle to initiate a melee attack. Complete the
touchscreen QTE and then when she’s on the ground, interrogate her.

Exit this room. Wait for the door to close, and then use the bomb detonator to
destroy the previously laid bombs.

===========
EXIT WOUNDS
===========
Now both ISA and Helghast are your enemy. Everyone is a target, except for
Justus, of course. Kill the Helghast soldiers you encounter in the first few
areas and keep following Justus.

“Heavy” Helghast will be in the first indoors area you come across. Justus will
be above you, but you have to stay on the lower floor. Get behind cover and
kill the Heavies. Justus will drop a canister that can be shot to greatly
damage them, but don’t get too close to it if you decided to shoot it.

When the coast is clear, Justus will drop a cable down for you to climb up.
Climb up the cable, then immediately kill the Helghast surrounding Justus. Get
close to him and a flamethrower-equipped Helghast will show up. Sprint away,
blow up his tanks from a safe distance, then wait in the elevator for Justus to
join you. Press the button in the elevator to ride it the next area.

Now it’s time to fight the final boss of the game, Benoit. All in all, this
will probably be the most difficult battle yet experienced in the game. There
is an Arms Dealer box in this area though, so you can keep setting your own
checkpoints to alleviate the stress a bit during this battle.

Benoit will be flying around on an Intruder while constantly firing at you
with his rifle. Stay out of the sight of his blue laser and you should be able
to avoid his fire just fine. He will send in his mercenaries, so get behind
cover and take them out from a safe distance, preferrably as soon as they touch
down.

When the initial wave of them is dead, Benoit will then become more aggressive.
Switch out your weapons at the Arms Dealer box to get a rocket launcher if
you don’t have one already. Use the rocket launcher on Benoit’s Intruder until
more mercs show up.

Trade out the rocket launcher for a shotgun and then kill all the mercs again.
Then get the rocket launcher back and finish off Benoit’s Intruder, which
forces him to land.

Benoit is incredibly dangerous and must be avoided at all costs. Stay behind
cover and use a silenced machinegun as your main weapon, with a shotgun as your
secondary for best results. Benoit is shielded, plus he has extremely powerful
close-ranged and long-ranged weapons. Not only that, but wave after wave of
mercs will fly into the area.

You can keep killing the mercs until they just stop spawning, which makes this
battle with Benoit a bit easier. This does take a long while, however, so you
will want to use the Arms Dealer box to keep getting new checkpoints for
yourself while doing this.

Anyway, to actually deal damage to Benoit, wait for Justus to raise the fuel
rods up. Then shoot the fuel rods when Benoit is near them. That will cause his
shield to disable and allow you to get in a few shots. It’s good to get in
close with a shotgun to get these shots, but flee as soon as he recovers.

Whenever Benoit is firing his gun, his shield will go down also. If you are
behind some good cover and can reasonably get the shot in, then by all means,
take the shot. If not, then just stick with the fuel rods for the easiest,
though longer, method.

When Benoit is dead, go with Justus to the aircraft. Get on board and then
congratulations, you beat Killzone: Mercenary.
