Rayman and his buddies have found themselves trapped in a world that’s filled with food. That’s the only good thing about it, however, as the area is filled with traps and obstacles that will make even the most mundane of tasks very difficult. Add to that the fact that your Tweenie friends need to be freed, and this would require you to go all around the many locations in order to do it. Get ready for an exciting and action packed adventure with one of the icons of old school gaming with Rayman Fiesta Run.
Gameplay
Rayman Fiesta Run is a platforming game with endless running elements thrown in. Across different levels, Rayman or any of the available characters will run nonstop as well as well as climb, jump, swim, or otherwise avoid or attack different obstacles and enemies in order to collect Lums which would then in turn allow Tweenies to get freed. This will allow players to both advance towards succeeding levels as well as earn enough currencies to purchase collectibles as well as powerups that can help them along the way. Quick reflexes as well as proper timing are required in order to get all Lums and get through the levels as quickly as possible.
Players would also have to interact with certain objects such as lemons that will allow players to catapult to a higher or farther location, as well as blue mushrooms that will bounce players to different sections of the map. There are also umbrellas that your character can step on or swing from, and all of these work towards helping you navigate the various obstacles as well as collect the Lums hanging about.
Currency
Lums are the only currency within the game. Lums are collected throughout the game, and they are also rewarded once players connect the game to their Facebook account. Lums are used to unlock new skins and artwork as well as to purchase powerups that can be used at tougher stages of the game. Should players run out of Lums, they can buy more in exchange for real life money. The more cash that you are willing to shell out, the more Lums you would be able to get in return.
Characters
There are several characters that can be unlocked within Rayman Fiesta Run, and all of them behave differently with regards to speed and jumping ability. The eponymous Rayman has average all around stats while others vary in strengths and weaknesses. Using a specific character for a particular character may serve a good purpose especially when it comes to more challenging stages that require finer control or better abilities.
Levels
The world of Rayman Fiesta Run is arranged like a game board, and the number of Tweenies freed, which is in turn determined by the number of Lums collected within a level, will allow players to move forward. From there, different stages will then be accessible. Levels that have already been completed may be revisited so that they can free remaining Tweenies as well as acquire more Lums.
In addition, players who have successfully collected all Lums in the area will have that stage open up an Invasion Level where players will have the ability to free even more Tweenies, but at the expense of having enemies appearing. These enemies may be stationary or would attack your character more actively, and getting attacked even once may result in you having to lose your progress and repeat the stage. There are also sections in the map where players can get to unlock new content such as the ability to punch enemies, or new artwork and characters.
Powerups
Powerups are special items that players can purchase at the beginning of each run. These will cost Lums and can provide Rayman and his friends with a lot of benefits. These include having a line indicate the best path to take in order to get all Lums in the level, the ability to punch at an extended range, and even the ability to take more hits before failing the round. Buying and using powerups is recommended for more difficult levels, as well as for Invasion Levels where the chances of failure are much higher.
Players have a few seconds before the character starts to run to purchase all the powerups that they require. Once the run has started, players can no longer purchase powerups until after the next run.
Collectibles
Rayman Fiesta Run also features several artwork that, although not affecting gameplay or how characters perform, can still be considered as achievements. These include exclusive artwork as well as skins that you can use to customize your characters’ appearances. Players can have access to this content once they have reached certain stages of the game, and would require the use of Lums to acquire.
