Duck Destroyer Walkthrough [Guide]

It is nature’s order for foxes to hunt down ducks, but Mother Nature never intended foxes to carry guns… or ducks to go around punching those that hunt them. Duck Destroyer is something that you wouldn’t see on National Geographic, but it’s still a pretty fun game to play. Think of it as Duck Hunt without the annoying dog. It’s been upgraded for modern times, of course, and this guide will help keep you up to speed in this cute but drastically challenging game.

Gameplay
Duck Destroyer is a shooting game where in players can use either gyro or touch controls in order to shoot down ducks that will be flying in the air. There are goals to achieve with each level, and players must be able to achieve at least one in order to advance. Additional upgrades and items will allow you to more effectively shoot down ducks and to defend yourself against ducks that can actually attack.

Currency
Coins are the game’s main currency. Coins can be earned by collecting from fallen ducks as well as by completing Granny Quests either for each stage of for the game as a whole. Coins can also be earned by watching videos or via daily login bonuses, or in exchange for real life money. Coins can be used to upgrade and purchase weapons as well as to buy items and other powerups.

Weapons
Different weapons are available within the game, with more being unlocked as players earn more stars. Alternately, players can acquire all weapons via an in-app purchase. Once unlocked, players will still have to purchase weapons before they can be equipped. Players will start with the slingshot, with automatic rifles, shotguns, and pistols being available later.

Weapons differ in terms of power, capacity, fire rate, and reload rate. Weapons may also be upgraded using coins, and this will allow your weapons to be used more. Otherwise, players will have to either pay or wait until the weapon that they want has been fully repaired.

Robots
Robots are helpful items that can be purchased and equipped during the game. Robots have the purpose of collecting coins from fallen ducks that would otherwise need to be tapped manually. Robots, like weapons, would have to be purchased using coins, and they must be able to collect a certain number of stars before they would be accessible. Robots can also be upgraded so that they can be used more, and must be repaired after being used for a certain amount of times.

Powerups
Aside from weapons and robots, players will also gain access to powerups that have a variety of effects. These include shields that can help resist damage from duck attacks, dynamite that can deal damage to a large area, as well as snails that would allow them to stop ducks in flight. There are many ways as to which powerups can be acquired. Some would fall from the sky inside crates, and players must shoot them down and retrieve them. Another way to get powerups is by purchasing them outright using currency earned. Players can also buy them in bulk, but this will cost them real life money. Powerups must be equipped prior to playing the round so that it can be accessible to them.

Stars
Players are able to earn stars in each level that they play. Although players need to earn just one star in order for the next stage to open up, stars serve a very important function as some items within the game will require players to collect a certain number of stars before they can be unlocked or made available. Otherwise, players will have to use in-app purchases so that they can be acquired.

Each level allows players to earn a total of three stars, although achievements that are prerequisites to achieve stars can no longer be completed. However, players can repeat stages in order to acquire stars that they haven’t yet. This is recommended especially if you would need access to items that require stars to unlock. Requirements for stars include killing a certain number of a particular type of duck, using an item, and many more.

Granny Quests
Granny Quests are special objectives that players can try to complete in order to earn extra coins. Granny Quests can either be stage specific or can encompass the entire game. For the former, these can only be achieved once players earn at least one star and would usually require players to reach a particular score.

Other Granny Quests will require players to complete certain achievements like killing ducks and earning a certain amount of coins. These types of achievements can be acquired numerous times, with the required number increasing each and every time.

Tips and Tricks
Concentrate towards getting as many stars as you can from the very start. This will allow you to gain access to more powerful weapons and robots. This will also earn you more coins, especially if you are able to complete Granny Quests along the way. For the meantime, try to forego the next level weapons like the pistol, although you can purchase them while saving money for upgrades on getting more powerful ones. You can pretty much live with the slingshot during the first few stages, with the added advantage that it will not need any repairs in between rounds.

It would also be a good idea to focus on getting robots rather than other powerups, as better robots will be able to help you a lot with collecting coins and other tasks. Like weapons, you can get the best one that you can although even basic ones will serve a lot of purpose. You would fare better using robots than any powerups, especially if you have a limited budget.

Lastly, make sure that you make very shot count. Weapons have different reload times, so this has to be considered each time you play. Make it a point also to utilize your weapon’s special properties, such as the shotgun’s ability to hit multiple targets at once. This will greatly increase your kill count as well as get you more stars at a faster rate.
