Kiwanuka is a different kind of physics puzzler. Despite its simplistic mechanics, there are a lot of challenges to be encountered – especially as the levels become more elaborate. Lead your followers to the intended destination using your magical staff, and do it by any method necessary – even if it means having to use your people as a makeshift bridge. Here’s our guide on how you can become the salvation of your people in this very stimulating game.
Gameplay
Kiwanuka is a physics puzzle game where in players must lead a group of people towards the goal in a series of challenging levels. Using your magical staff, players must have the congregation follow you, and your staff can also build bridges that you can use to cross gaps or even move up and down levels. There are obstacles in the way that would not allow you to place bridges, and players must work with whatever they have been provided in order to reach the goal.
Players must take caution when crossing platforms. There’s no time limit to finish the stage, but having your team fall off the platforms or touching certain blocks will shatter the environment and would force you to restart the round. You will not die if you fall from great heights, however for as long as you still have something visible to land on.
Bridges
Players can build bridges out of people, and these people need not be recalled or brought to the goal. Rather, these bridges can be used to cross platforms, and may also be used to go up or down. Bridges can “penetrate” the ground for as long as the end of the bridge does not touch a solid object, but having any part of the bridge hit a red or blue block will dissolve it.
Bridges can be built in any length, and they can also be removed by double tapping it. This would prove as a very important strategy as some levels would require players to drop to another platform while they are crossing. There are also instances where in timing is very important when crossing bridges, as certain stages will introduce moving platforms that will really require you to make moves quickly and at a precise moment in time.
Tips and Tricks
Take your time to scout the area. Make sure that you are able to predict where your group would be moving and map out your path before actually making a move. This will save a lot of time in the long run, as you might find yourself stuck if you simply move from one place to another without thinking. Make it a point to know where you are going first before making that first step.
Experiment with bridges of varying lengths. Bridges will connect to different surfaces depending on where they land on, and sometimes you don’t need to cross to a particular ledge, but it is rather used for you to be able to go to a different location. As mentioned before, plot out where you will be going from point to point as moving around without a definite plan will be a waste of time.
Remove bridges once you have used them. It’s not mandatory, but this will allow you to better see where you are going. Sometimes, though, you might find yourself having to drop from a bridge into another one that you have previously created. Make sure to know how each action will affect another, and this will give you a much better chance of reaching the goal without getting stuck.
If all else fails, return to the missions menu. The reason for this is that each stage has a specific title, and you can find clues on how to beat the puzzle by reading through the hints that each title represents. It can be a bit vague at first, but you will finally be able to realize what the text means once you realize whatever it is that you need to do.
Lastly, be patient. The game does not offer a hint system, so simply try different strategies until you are able to get your group to move along the right path. Try a method and then formulate another one if the previous one fails. Eventually, you will be able to get it and move on to the next round.
