When you boot up Destiny for the very first time, you will go through the usual screen size adjustments, brightness adjustments, stuff like that, and then you are immediately asked to create a character.

There are three classes available to you in Destiny. They are the Titan, Hunter, and Warlock classes. Here you will find a brief explanation of each class. Class descriptions were taken directly from in-game materials.

Each class will have two abilities available to them. The first ability is available from the outset, whereas the second one will unlock at level 15.

Destiny – Classes [Guide]

====================
CREATING A CHARACTER
====================
After choosing your class, it’s time to create your character. The first step to this is customizing your appearance. Just like there are three different classes to choose from, there are also three different races to choose from in Destiny as well.

The races are as follows:

Human
—–
“You are human, hardy and adaptable. Your ancestors rose from Earth to build an age of miracles.”

Awoken
——
“You are awoken, marked by the cosmos. Your ancestors took shelter in deep space, and it changed them forever.”

Exo

“You are an Exo, a self-aware war machine built for a long-forgotten struggle.”

Each race has a male and female variation.

Upon making these selections, the next step is to choose your face template, plus the skin color, lip color, and eye color that you want. From there, choose your hair style and color, and then choose one of the available markings (the color of which can be edited as well, of course) or choose not to have any markings at all.

When you are satisfied with the creation of your character, choose “FINISH” and you are ready to begin your journey in Destiny.

Once you’ve created your character and adjusted all the mundane settings, it
is time to begin your journey in Destiny. Enjoy the opening cinematics. Those
that played the beta can skip forward in the walkthrough, as these beginning
areas are exactly as they were in the beta.

========
PROLOGUE
========
When you first start, you are weaponless, but do not worry as Tyrion Lannister is going to hook you up. Get used to the movement controls for now, and check out the radar in the corner. This will offer to you plenty of useful info such as the direction of nearby enemies as well as point towards the next primary objective.

Make your way into the large Cosmodrome that is directly in front of you, just beyond the sea of old, rusty cars. You are in Old Russia, Russia, by the way.

Upon entering the building, just keep following your Ghost. It will be a bit dark in here, but he will light the way. You’ll start to see the Fallen, the alien enemies that you will deal with a lot early on in the game. Eventually, Ghost will find a weapon for you, so grab it.

Use this weapon to kill the various Fallen aliens that you encounter in the Cosmodrome. It really shouldn’t be hard at all, as they are all very low level, and this stage is designed to teach you the ins and outs of the story.

There are a few different enemy types you will encounter. The most common are the Dreg. The Dreg are weak and easy to kill. Sometimes they will run up and try to melee you, but a single melee attack from your Guardian will bring them to their permanent end. Use the right bumper to initiate a melee attack.

Another enemy type are the Shanks, which are drones that come at you in multiple numbers, but are nonetheless very easy to kill. And finally, there’s the Vandals. These are the smarter types of the Fallen, and they will tend to use cover more and will use attacks that can potentially deal more damage to you, so don’t take them as lightly as the other enemies.

As you push forward through these aliens, you will come across a loot chest. Loot it by holding in the button that pops up on the screen. For Xbox platforms, that button will be the X button, and for PlayStation platforms, that button will be the Square button.

You will be rewarded with a “special” weapon, different depending on your class. Use this weapon for easy kills, but save some ammo as there is a “boss” enemy near the end of this tutorial stage that you can kill very easily if you utilize your special weapon.

The last room will contain your ship. Kill all of the enemies here and the ship will be yours. Along the course of this mission, you will also unlock the ability to use grenades, as you will definitely level up, and that will be the first upgrade for your class. The grenade types will be different, but each class has a grenade.

THE TOWER
=========
During your first trip to the tower, you will either have one or two main objective markers, depending on whether or not you participated in the beta for the game. If you did participate in the beta, stop at the post master to get a bonus emblem from Bungie!

Otherwise, head to the NPC that is designated to you based on your class. Speak with them to get some bonus armor, again, relative to the class that you chose. You can stick around and buy more armor if you want. Equip the armor by pressing the Menu Button.

Now repeat the same song and dance when you go speak to the armory guy. You will get to choose one of the weapons that is presented to you. Take your pick and then you have to go speak with the lady that runs the ship docking. Go to her and speak with her to register your ship. Now you’re ready to continue playing through missions.

To do this, you have go back into orbit. Hold the Y button on Xbox platforms and the Triangle button on PlayStation platforms to accomplish this. You can then choose where you want to travel to in order to continue the game.

RESTORATION
===========
TYPE: Level 2 Story
LOCATION: Old Russia, Earth
>>Fireteam: 1-3
>>Cooperative
Rewards: XP Bonus + 1800

You are in the open world of Old Russia right now, so there’s lot to go and explore and do whatever. There will be more information on collectibles and things of that nature elsewhere in the guide, right now the main concern is getting through the story.

So if you want to continue the story, take note of where the main objective is leading you. The game will remind you that you can press the View Button on Xbox to see objectives. Right now your objective is to scan a crashed ship.

The ship will be surrounded by about four or so Fallen. The yellow health bar indicates a stronger than typical enemy, so be aware of that. Anyway, kill the enemies around the ship and then deploy the Ghost to scan. Go to the tunnels that are designated and scan there as well, then head back to the Cosmodrome from the first mission.

You’ll enter it through a different entrance than before. As you move forward, you will be warned that respawning is currently restricted in your area. This means that it becomes a checkpoint, and if you and your teammates die, you will be sent back here, so this adds a sense of urgency to tough battles.

In the next room, you will encounter a few Fallen. Kill them, but do NOT go near the tunnel on the far wall. Riksis, the Devil Archon, and one of the bosses in the game, will appear from the tunnel. Stay as far away from him as possible as he will slam into the ground, which can one-shot you very easily.

As long as you keep your distance, Riksis is not that tough of a battle. If you are playing in co-op it’s even easier, as you can hit him from three sides and provide distractions. As tempting as it may be, don’t go in for any melee or close-ranged attacks, as that is just going to spell doom for you.

About midway through the battle, some extra Vandals will show up to try to make your life tougher. Riksis moves slow, so you can go and take care of them without having to worry about him sneaking up on you or anything like that.

With Riksis dead, the mission will be completed.

THE DARK WITHIN
===============
TYPE: Level 3 Story
LOCATION: Old Russia, Earth
>>Fireteam: 1-3
>>Cooperative
Rewards: XP Bonus + 1800

Just head straight for the Array station. There will be scattered groups of Fallen that you can choose to engage or not. Outside the station are some level 7 Dregs that, while easy enough to kill, can deal significant melee damage if they get close to you. You can go up on the ridge above them and shoot down on them before they really have a chance to do anything.

Once you start to head into the array station, a couple waves of Fallen will attempt to push you back. They will be comprised mostly of Vandals, but there will also be a Captain in their midst. In this case, a Captain is a more powerful version of a Vandal, so killing the Captain is priority.

Upon heading into the array station itself, you will be sent into a respawning restricted zone, and then flooded with Thrall. These are similar to the “Flood”from Halo or generic zombies. They will rush you and attempt to hit you with melee strikes, but you can kill them with one shot with virtually any weapon.

Push forward until you come up to a Wizard. This enemy will float around and fire blasts of energy at you that can deal a heavy amount of damage. He also has a shield around him that protects him from damage, but once that shield gets down, you can eat through his HP without much trouble.

You will get a Warp Claw key item from destroying the Wizard. If you go back to the Tower, you can turn it in to your class’s Vanguard in order to get some bonus rewards.

THE WARMIND
===========
TYPE: Level 4 Story
LOCATION: Old Russia, Earth
>>Fireteam: 1-3
>>Cooperative
Rewards: XP Bonus + 1800

This mission makes exploring in the Patrol missions and getting around in general much easier. Complete the first objective to get the Sparrow, which is your main on-ground vehicle for getting around. If you are familiar with the hover bikes in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, then you should have a good idea of what to expect. Use the left trigger to boost and get around quickly. To summon the Sparrow, pull out your Ghost and then hold in the designated button to make it appear.

Anyway, after you get the sparrow, your next objective will be to scan two different Fallen arrays. These are heavily guarded, obviously. Kill the Fallen protecting each, then deploy the Ghost to scan them. After your Ghost is scanning the first one, already start heading to the next one to save time. Kill everyone there, scan the array, and then head into the building that is overrun with Fallen.

Kill everyone. Get to the machine and scan it. After scanning the machine, you will have to sit tight and defend it from waves of enemies. These waves will include high-level captains with shields that make them even more formidable than usual. Don’t be afraid to bust out your abilities (which you should have by now as they unlock at level 4) in order to kill them easier. There will also be flying purple orbs called Servitors. Shoot them in their “eye” for
extra damage.

Once the mission has been scanned successfully, your next objective will be to destroy it. It is known as a “Fallen Tap”, by the way. It won’t take a lot of ammo to blow it up, and once you’ve destroyed it, the mission will be complete.

==============
TYPE: Level 5 Story

Get your Sparrow and zoom to the objective marker. You’ll have to backtrack through some buildings that you’ve already been through, but it shouldn’t be too bad. Once you get to the “field” in question, you will have to kill a couple of Fallen and they will drop dead ghosts. Collect them both. You will know that they have dropped a key item needed for your mission due to the fact that the loot will fall with an objective marker symbol above it.

With the dead ghosts, fight your way to the console and start to scan it. This will, of course, trigger the arrival of more enemies. They will be dropped off in a large shape, consisting mainly of Acolytes, Stealth enemies (they are basically just invisible and focus on melee), Thrall, and a new type of enemy called Knights. These are large, powerful beasts that you should stay far away from and attack from afar, though they are slow moving, so if they are focusing on one of your buddies, just run up and give them a good melee whack and  retreat.

A Hallowed Knight will show up near the end. This is a far more powerful type of Knight that tends to throw up a shield in front of itself quite a bit. To get by its shield, you need to flank the creature and blast it from the side.

When you kill all of the enemies, the console will be scanned. Return to the Tower for an extra reward for completing this one in the form of a Heavy weapon.

THE DARK BEYOND
===============
TYPE: Level 6 Story
LOCATION: Ocean of Storms, Moon
>>Fireteam: 1-3
>>Cooperative
Rewards: Special Weapon Upgrade, XP Bonus + 1800

Ready for your first mission on the moon?! You should be! Anyway, right now it is pretty lifeless and you can’t use your Sparrow yet, which is a bit of a bummer. So that’s the first priority.

Head to the control console, start scanning, and then hold the position against the Fallen that rush in. After the scanning process, you can now use your Sparrow on the moon. Phew!

With your Sparrow, head to the colony. There is a large building in the center. Some Servitors will be about, but other players can drop in and join you to help out at this point, so you may see some random PlayStation Network and Xbox Live players killing enemies alongside you, which makes it a bit
easier.

You will encounter a new vehicle type in this area called a Pike. This is like the enemies’ version of the Sparrow, except it has guns. If you want to steal one and use it, go ahead. They are destroyed easily, but their weapons pack quite the punch.

Scan the console in the center building. This will give you the location of the Temple of Crota. Head there now. You won’t be able to take your Sparrow there, so hop off it once you reach the roadblock in the center of the canyon.

Scan the dead guardian. The doors will open after a scene, and a massive amount of Hive enemies, mainly Thralls, will come pouring out. Toss grenades into the masses of them and blow them to hell. Don’t let them swarm you or you will definitely die, and respawning is restricted in this particular area.

Push forward into the temple. As you near the console with the dead ghost in it, you will be confronted by Vurok, Eir Spawn. This is a powerful wizard with a powerful shield. He tends to get himself stuck in corners though, and if he does, start chucking grenades at him and blast him with special abilities to be most effective.

When he’s dead, the dead ghost will come out of the console by itself. Return to the Tower after you head back to orbit. Go to talk to the Speaker of the Traveler. He will give you a reward, and then you can go to the gunsmith for yet another reward. This is in exchange for the dead ghost, of course.

THE WORLD’S GRAVE
=================
TYPE: Level 7 Story
LOCATION: Ocean of Storms, Moon
>>Fireteam: 1-3
>>Cooperative
Rewards: XP Bonus + 2000

Upon returning to the moon, you will be met with some heavy opposition, so don’t just go speeding to the objective on your Sparrow. Take your time. Once you get inside the temple area again, you’ll be met with even MORE opposition, this time in the form of heavy amounts of Hive, as opposed to the Fallen that you find outside, on the moon’s surface.

The first objective of this mission is to kill a specific Knight that is deeper in the temple. You’ll have to kill all of the enemies in the first room first, which consists of the standard Hive enemies as well as a Wizard and a Shrieker. The Shrieker looks like a giant evil lantern. It will hover in the air and shoot at you from afar, so stay behind cover when it appears and take pot shots at it. The cover should protect you from its blasts as well as the other Hive that are around you.

Once you reach the Knight that you are to kill, you will find that it is just a regular Knight. Kill him and then proceed deeper into the tunnel for a new object to scan. Scanning it will result in another wave-based defense section. The enemies will pour in from the doors as well as rise up from the water below you.

It is at this juncture that you will be introduced to an enemy type known as the Cursed Thrall. These Thrall glow with a blue tint and will explode once their health bar has been depleted. Avoid hitting them with melee attacks–just shoot at them from afar to be the most effective.

Once all of the enemies have finally been killed in the area, you are to go back and finish the scanning process. You should also check the ridges of the wall in the water for a chest that you can loot for some extra items.

THE SWORD OF CROTA
==================
TYPE: Level 7 Story
LOCATION: Ocean of Storms, Moon
>>Fireteam: 1-3
>>Cooperative
Rewards: Armor Upgrade, XP Bonus + 2000

Outside the temple, you are supposed to kill all the Hive that come out. You can get a series height advantage on them as they are in one of the moon’s many craters. So stand at top of the crater and just rain hell down on them.

Move into the temple and you will fight a “prince” called Banuk. This is just a larger, tougher version of your typical Knight. Kill it and then you can proceed even further, to their ritual room.

Here you will find the literal Sword of Crota. One of your team members can pick it up and use it if they want. It’s an extremely powerful sword as it regenerates your overcharge meter, plus it kills most Hive enemies with a single hit.

If you have the sword and are fighting the princes (you have to defeat three princes in a row to complete this section), then you should run up to them, take a swipe, and then immediately double tap A/X (depending on platform) to boost and get the hell out of there. They will likely lower your shields completely as well as take away almost all of your health, so it’s smart to back up once you’ve got a single hit in with the right trigger.

Pressing the right bumper with the sword will do some faster, fancier melee attacks. These attacks aren’t as powerful as the right trigger, but are good for mowing down groups of weaker enemies with relative ease. Be sure to return to the Tower after this mission to receive your armor upgrade by delivering the pieces of the sword.

Yet another mission on the moon. Go around and scan the two designated cracks on the ground. This will be an open area with other players running about as well, so that makes the job easier. Once the two cracks have been scanned, your Ghost will have created an entire map of the underground temples built inside of the moon.

Return to the front gates of the temple for a cut-scene. When the cut-scene concludes, backtrack through the temple. You will be led into a room with Siphon Witches. These are three Wizard-type enemies that are actually easier to kill than the usual batch.

Keep pushing through the tunnels and caverns of the temple. You pretty much just go from room to room, mowing down enemies. If you stray off the beaten path, you may run into some tough, high level Hallowed Knights, so be prepared to take them on with heavy ammo and the like.

Eventually, you will be confronted with a boss battle from Telthor the Unborn. Telthor the Unborn is quite a large beast that shoots lasers out of its…uh, face? Rockets are the best course of action here, as direct rocket shots on Telthor deals a ridiculous amount of damage to him. Killing Telthor will satisfy the mission requirements and end the mission.

TYPE: Level 8 Story

Rewards: Primary Weapon Upgrade, XP Bonus + 2000

When you enter the temple doors this time, you will see a huge Hive monster called the Ogre. The Ogres are deadly brutes when faced in melee combat, so the best course of action is to obviously attack them from afar. Rockets will hurt them rather significantly as well.

Fight your way through the halls and temple as usual until you reach the shrine, which looks like a replica of a planet in a weird, ancient machine. The Hive will be worshiping it, giving you the advantage of surprise. Use that to drop them like flies, and then scan the shrine.

Scanning the shrine, will, of course, result in the appearance of a ton of Hive beasts. There are also Fallen scattered about that will fight both you and the Hive, so keep that in mind.

Anyway, while the scanning is going on, Sardok, the Eye of Oryx, a gigantic creature that deals an insane amount of damage if he hits you with melee or any of his ranged attacks, will come to fight you next. It takes a ton of ammo to take him out. Surround him and keep your distance. Whenever anyone on your team gets an overcharge ability, have them immediately use it, then retreat to avoid being squashed by Sardok since this area is obviously a respawn-restricted one as usual.

When Sardok finally falls, kill any remaining Hive enemies. Then turn your attention to the shrine. It will only take a few shots, but destroy it. This will conclude the mission. Return to the Tower for an upgrade for your primary weapon.

A STRANGER’S CALL
=================
TYPE: Level 10 Story
LOCATION: Ishtar Sink, Venus
>>Fireteam: 1-3
>>Cooperative
Rewards: Armor Upgrade, XP Bonus + 3000

When you arrive on Venus, you need to do the usual housekeeping. Go to the
nearby Guardian outpost and use the Ghost so that you can start using your
sparrow. Some Fallen will be around here, but just the Dregs and Vandals and
really nothing too tough.

With them defeated, you then need to make your way to a door that you have to
scan. Do that to gain access to a “corflux”, basically a big white glowing
tower thing, and scan that as well.

This is where things get interesting. After scanning that, a brand new breed
of enemy makes their presence known. These are the Vex, robotic enemies that
can warp into place. The Vex that you have to deal with are the Goblins, the
Hobgoblins, and the Minotaurs–two Minotaurs, to be exact.

The thing about fighting Vex is that you KNOW where they’re about to be based
on where the blue orbs are in the room. Because of this, you can be ready to
toss a grenade into them or use your special ability to wipe out mass amounts
of them with a single stroke.

The first group of Vex that spawn are all clumped together, making it a perfect
opportunity to destroy them all with extreme ease. The Hobgoblins will
sometimes crouch down and deflect your attacks, but otherwise they are just
like the regular Goblins and can be defeated easily.

The Minotaurs are a bit more difficult. They are larger, have more health,
and also have better shields. Rockets are the best thing to use against them,
and after their shields go down, just one or two rockets will do them in
completely.

Defeating all of them will initiate a cut-scene. Watch the scene and then you
will be able to go to the Tower for a reward. In the meantime, you will also
unlock a new area in the form of the Reef. The Reef is an asteroid belt
where the next story mission takes place, so unlike the Moon and the Earth,
you can’t complete all of the story missions on Venus in a subsequent manner.

Back on Venus, you will come across the usual Fallen enemies that you should be used to at this point. As you get further along, you will encounter a Cyclops enemy type, which is like a big turret that fires purple energy blasts like a cannon. It is slow, which makes it very easy to destroy in co-op.

There is a ridge not too far from the Cyclops (keep in mind that other Vex enemies will be around as well). Stay on this ridge and take potshots at the Cyclops. Hitting it in the eye will do the most damage. Have your other people on the ground fighting the other Vex and also taking shots at the Cyclops to keep it nice and distracted.

Once the Cyclops has been destroyed, you can collect its mind core. This is a necessary primary objective. With that in hand, whip out your Sparrow and make your way to the research station. Upon arriving, deploy the Ghost to scan the console there. This, of course, will spawn a series of wave-based enemy encounters.

Among these enemies are Harpies. Harpies are the flying drones of the Vex. They are easily killed. These Vex encounters will be capped off by two minotaurs that are heavily shielded, so save any rockets you have for them.

You’re back to the academy for this mission. Upon returning there, you will find that instead of Vex everywhere, you will mostly see Fallen. There are still Vex enemies to deal with, but the Fallen will take care of most of them for you.

You come across Simiks-3, an especially strong Servitor as you push through the academy. Just use the same strategy that you use with typical Servitors, except keep in mind that he is definitely stronger both in terms of health and the damage he can deal.

With Simiks-3 defeated, scan the door controls with your Ghost. Then go through the freshly opened door. Go further in and you will be scanning a large computer called the Archive computer. This will result in waves of enemies showing up and attacking.

About halfway through the battle, the power will go out. Have someone go to the power grid and deploy their Ghost. You’ll then have to run over to the second grid and deploy your ghost for a second time in order to get the power back on.

At that point, you have to deal with higher level Fallen that will come in heavy waves. Defeat all of them and you can then go back to the Archive and retrieve the data that Ghost collected.

You will be greeted by heavy opposition in the tunnels as well, mainly in the form of the Kell Guards, the special guards to the Fallen known as Draksis.

Kill the Kell Guards and fight your way to the throne room. Draksis is an intimidating-looking enemy and can kill you in just a couple of hits, but at the same time, he doesn’t take a whole lot of damage to put down. There is plenty of cover all around the throne room that you can utilize. Be wary of the Kell Guards that are also running around here as well.

The Queen at the Reef will give you this mission, which is quite the doozy, but it is also a lot of fun at the same time. In this area of Venus, you will run into “Axis” versions of the Vex. This is equivalent to the “Reaver” type enemies that you encountered with the Fallen. They are essentially just stronger versions of enemies that you have already been dealing with.

However, some of these enemies are extremely tough and should be avoided right now if you are only level 13. They will have ?? where their level would normally be displayed such as the Vex Minotaurs. Just ignore them and continue towards the main objective. Whip out your Ghost to make the objective markers pop back up so you can keep track of where you need to go.

Scan the corflux as before. Further on, you will be introduced to a new mechanic. There are portals that Vex are constantly coming out of. Have two people in your Firetream deal with the Vex and have someone else run up and blast the portals head on. Grenades and fusion rifles are the best combination to destroy the portal gates as quickly as possible.

Finally, you will get to a giant portal, and that is when the Gate Lord will emerge. To make him emerge, at least one person in your fireteam needs to stand in the red circle radius that is in front of the gate.

As soon as the Gate Lord appears, make a break for it and split up. Shooting him directly in the eye is the best course of action to deal the most damage to him as possible. His attacks have serious splash damage, so stay moving. Even if you feel like you’re behind cover, chances are he will shoot just beyond your cover and you may still die from the resulting splash damage of his blast.

Destroying the Gate Lord will satisfy the mission requirements.

EXCLUSION ZONE

TYPE: Level 15 Story
LOCATION: Meridian Bay, Mars
>>Fireteam: 1-3
>>Cooperative
Rewards: Sparrow Upgrade, XP Bonus +4000

The first thing you want to do on Mars is get your Sparrow online and operational, just like whenever you visit any new area. Mars is rather dangerous and features a lot of high-level enemies in the form of the Cabal.

In any case, go to the nearby underground bunkers and start making your way through. You will have to scan the console there to get Sparrow access. As you push across Mars, you will have to deal with the Cabal, which are a new enemy type.

The Cabal include Psions, Phalanx, Legionaries, and Centurions. The Psions are the equivalent to the Dreg. The Phalanx have large shields that they can use to block almost anything, and the Legionaries are the equivalent to the Vandals. Centurians are the equivalent to Captains when comparing the Cabal to the Fallen. The Cabal also have the Colosuss, which is a large enemy that carries a gatling gun, though they are very rarely ever encountered.

Something to note about Mars that you probably already noticed is that as soon as you touched down on the red planet, you were thrust into a respawning restricted zone. After you scan the next object, respawning restricted will be taken away. You will have to fight a dropship full of enemies, a powerful brute named Bracus, and also fight your way through more hordes and hordes of enemies to eventually reach a survey post that, you guessed it, you need to scan with your Ghost.

THE GARDEN’S SPIRE
==================
TYPE: Level 16 Story
LOCATION: Meridian Bay, Mars
>>Fireteam: 1-3
>>Cooperative
Rewards: Armor Upgrade, XP Bonus +4000

This is one of the longer and more difficult story missions in the entirety of the game. At the start, you will have the objective to breach the warbase. If you want to just zip pass the mass of enemies, no one would blame you for doing so. Just hop on your Sparrow and zoom right through the gates and into the canyon. If you want to farm XP or whatever else, then you are free to engage all the enemies your heart desires.

You will reach a terminal to scan, and then will continue pushing through the wide expanse of the Martian desert. Eventually you will come into an underground base. At that point, there will be enemies pouring in from all sides, and all of them will be Cabal.

Heavy weapons and overcharges are absolutely integral here. You can even have one of your Guardian teammates hide underneath the floor here to avoid taking any enemy fire, and then have them rush out and revive you when you’re down. This is only for the most desperate that are having particular trouble getting through this section though.

Once the enemies let up a little, you are then able to deploy your Ghost on the giant gate. The gate will open, with three Phalanx enemies immediately on the other side, so get ready to bombard them with grenades to try to get the splash damage around their shields to put them out.

Fight your way to the tower and place the Gate Keeper’s eye in the designated area. This will trigger a boss fight against a monstrosity named Primus who is highly resistant to damage and unleashes a ton of damage himself. Lay into Primus with everything that you have and be aware of the other Cabal that will be coming out to support him as well.

With Primus dead, the mission is still not over just yet. You need to go back up to where you placed the eye and recover it. Doing so will then complete the final objective for the mission and you are free to head back to orbit and continue doing whatever in Destiny.

This mission takes you to The Buried City, which you will explore rather briefly in the next mission as well. Anyway, first scan the Vex conflux and go to the Buried City.

Push forward in here through the waves of Vex enemies, which include a Cyclops. Remember to shoot its “eye” and use any rockets if you have them. You will reach a subway system that is dotted with portals like before, so destroy each one of them.

With all of the portals destroyed, you will have a new conflux to scan. Scan it to conclude the mission.

More scanning. You will then re-enter the “Buried City”. You will have a battle with a high-level enemy, mow down some other enemies, and then in the end you will have a mission to scan. Very basic and straight-forward mission.

THE BLACK GARDEN
================
TYPE: Level 18 Story
LOCATION: Meridian Bay, Mars
>>Fireteam: 1-3

Rewards: XP Bonus +4000

You can skip most of the enemies in the initial area. Just hop on your Sparrow and zoom right on past them. The interesting stuff comes in the form of a giant ass portal. Enter the portal to then be sent to a temple full of what appear to be just a bunch of dead, plant-covered Vex.

Of course, some of them start to come to life, and at that point, this mission is a series of battle after battle. Your ammunition may start to run low as a result, but the Vex will drop the ammo that you need to keep pushing forward.

In the open area, scan both of the two “clusters” while fighting off the Vex. At this point, it should be safe for you and your partners to split up so that you can get this objective done twice as fast.

With the two clusters scanned, go scan the conflux. You will then be able to get to the area with the “heart”, the giant floating blob in the sky. This “heart” is surrounded by three large statues. The first statue will come to life. Use the cover in the area whenever it starts to fire, as it is capable in killing you in one hit if it is a direct hit.

The weakpoint of this giant walking statue is its gut. You will know when you are hitting it in the weakpoint as yellow numbers will start to flash as you are shooting it.

Don’t get too close to the statue. Super charge abilities that aren’t ranged are pretty useless against it, so don’t even bother. If it stomps on you, that will spell your doom. Since this is a respawning restricted area, if someone on your team gets stomped out, don’t go and rescue them; just wait for the timer to run down and let them respawn on their own, as you will probably die if you try to rescue them close to the feet of this big statue creature.

Once the first statue is dead, the second one will come to life. If you are hurting for ammo, kill the Goblins that this second one endlessly spawns. Don’t waste too much ammo on the Goblins though, and try to just run away from them and relocate whenever possible. If they start to kill you, then by all means, take them out, but for the most part you want to just bounce.

The second one should be handled using the same strategy as the first one:  shoot it in the gut. The only thing that you need to be aware about that is different than the first fight is that this one will constantly spawn those Goblins I mentioned.

Finally, the third statue creature will come to life and spawn not only Goblins, but Minotaurs as well. The Minotaurs need to be dealt with, as they have a much better chance of killing you than the Goblins, and they are incredibly dangerous. It will take a little while for the Minotaurs to start respawning after you kill them all though.

Destroying the statues will cause any of the Vex that they spawned to immediately shut down and collapse. Once all of the statues have been defeated, you will have a mission complete. After the mission is over, talk to the Speaker to snag some extra rewards.

THE END

4. Patrol Missions
- – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - -
Patrol Missions can be found on every major area in Destiny. There are Patrol missions on Earth, on Venus, on Mars, and on the Moon. If you want to simply explore the game worlds and aren’t interested in completing co-op missions right at that moment, then what you should do is head to the “Patrol” missions, as that is the way to free roam in Destiny.

Besides free roaming around, there are other things to accomplish while do the patrols. You will see flashing beacons on the ground that are marked with main objective markers if you are close enough to them. Go to these flashing beacons and interact with them to achievement mini missions.

These missions are usually very simple in nature, but they provide extra XP nonetheless, and there are sometimes bounties for them available.

The missions basically come in two different flavors. There are missions where you go to a specific area on the map and have to stand there until the meter is filled. Sometimes you have to go to areas and manually scan them with your Ghost as well.

Other kind of Patrol Mission involves killing enemies. You have to kill X amount of enemies or you have to collect items off of dead enemies.
